[Q] error: cannot load 'Unlock_code.bin' - HTC One X

Hello everyone, noob here and i ran into a problem. Trying to root my phone through the X_Factor exploit and I'm down to the step to load fastboot flash unlocktoken_code.bin but it keeps throwing the error: cannot load 'Unlock_code.bin' Please help, I also loaded the unlock file into the same file as the others as it stated, under my android file i made. Thanks

X_Factor exploit is for the AT&T One X, not the international One X, so you're either trying to use it on the wrong device or you're posting in the wrong forum.

this isn't your forum, however you need to specify the unlocktoken_code.bin folder...type:
Code:
fastboot flash path/to/unlocktoken_code.bin

First Day with One X...problems :(

So, I sold my GNex to get a One X, and as I always do first day round, went to install a custom room, recovery and root.
Now I did search around, but couldn't find anything too useful, or anything that would actually work.
I succesfully unlocked my bootloader at htcdev.com but I am unable to root or flash a custom recovery, when I try to use fastboot, whether it's fastboot flash recovery *.img or fastboot devices or fastboot boot *.img it gives me the error:
ERROR: could not get pipe properties
ERROR: could not get pipe properties
sending 'boot' (4280 KB)... ERROR: usb_write failed with status e0004061
FAILED (command write failed (No such file or directory))
ERROR: could not get pipe properties
ERROR: could not get pipe properties
rebooting... ERROR: usb_write failed with status e0004061
Something similar to that.
Can someone please help me out here...I'm losing my mind trying to achieve root on this thing!
Edit: BTW, I'm on a MAC! OS X Lion with the GSM International HTC One X
Thanks guys,

If he fastboots while in android it will simply say "waiting for device"
Either your drivers need re-installing or you have a dodgy USB lead, failing that can you do it on a windows machine with the same lead and if so does it produce a simular error ?

One other quick question. Is it possible to get rid if the keyboard thing appearing in the status bar to chose input method when typing. I have my keyboard selected and that's what I want to stick with.
I am rooted and have titanium backup installed if needs be.

It sounds like you are not including the full file name in the command. As an example this would be a correct command, and in this example there is a file called boot.img in the folder that my terminal is currently pointing to:
fastboot flash boot boot.img

I think you'll find that's to do with a 3rd party keyboard. Look in the settings for the keyboard you're using and see if the notification can be hidden.

How I rooted my Note 3 (t-mobile) using a MAC

Usual disclaimers this will void your warranty and may brick your phone,
This is not an all inclusive guide, just how I was able to install TWRP and root my Note 3 using a Mac Pro with OSX Mavericks. If you can't find the needed files you probably shouldn't be trying this.
I tried several things to Install TWRP - Kies, ADB, Fastboot, Odin for Mac, Odin for Windows running under Virtual Box. None of these worked.
What finally worked was using: The CLI version of Heimdall v1.4.0. From terminal with openrecovery-twrp-2.6.3.1-hltetmo.img in your current directory the command to flash is:
heimdall flash --RECOVERY openrecovery-twrp-2.6.3.1-hltetmo.img
Notes: kies must be uninstalled or you will get: libusbx: error [darwin_claim_interface] USBInterfaceOpen: another process has device opened for exclusive access
ERROR: Claiming interface failed!
RECOVERY must be all CAPS or flash will fail.
Phone must be in Odin mode from powered off VOL_DOWN--HOME--POWER
Once TWRP is installed I was able to download: UPDATE-SuperSU-v1.65.zip and install it from TWRP in Recovery mode, This final step leaves you with ROOT on your phone.
Wish I saw this earlier! Borrowed a friend's laptop just root the Note.
Good to know Heimdall 1.4 is working on it. I was hesitant to try it until it was confirmed working.
this worked perfectly ! Thanks !

When you uninstalled Kies did you use the uninstall program or did you just delete it from the applications folder? I used the uninstall program I got on the KiesMac_3.0_Setup.dmg
What is the exact error you are getting?

Do you have any other program running that might be grabbing the phones usb connection? Parallels, virtualbox, fastboot, abd are a few things I can think of,
Try exiting any of these programs
If you have run adb since computer was rebooted try :
adb kill-server
I hope this helps, I can't think of anything else to try.

This will trigger the knox flag disabling the knox features. There is now another way to get root that does not change the recovery partition or trip the knox flag, I have not looked into doing it, as I have already tripped my knox flag and as far as I can tell it cannot be undone.

Worked for me too after UNINSTALLING Kies.
I deleted kies first and it returned "libusbx: error [darwin_claim_interface] USBInterfaceOpen: another process has device opened for exclusive access"
Then I downloaded kies again. When it starts it offers you to uninstall.
After uninstalling everything started working.

[Q] Lg g3 D855 adb issues <no found solution>

Hi guys im unsure if you would call me a noob since ive been playing with androids and custom ops for a while, however my girlfriend purchased an lg d855 (stock as a rock)and "all of a sudden" it failed to reboot, now from what i have found it appears to be quite unusual for this to happen but common for the os to crash into a boot freeze or boot loop, i have no complete load of download mode, it comes up with the little blue dots and the picture of the phone or whatever the symbol is. i can get it into fastboot for use with the adb or fastboot apps, i have obtained the stock LAF.img for the 32gb variant, the issue is that after the phone is connected and ready to send operations
i send the command
c:\adb\fastboot erase recovery >
erasing recovery>
FAILED <remote: failed to erase partition>
and on the phone it says
<start>
fastboot: processing commands
fastboot: getvarartition-type: recovery
fastboot erase: recovery
partition getsize 16777216 bytes
erasing card: 0x48000:0x8000
error: command never completed
error: command timeout error
error: command completed with errors
failed to send erase grp start address
mmc erase failed
<end>
so the question, what the hell does that mean, also if i try other commands it also failes to complete them such as erasing the laf file and or replacing it, i feel like i am mostlikely not the only one with this issue, i do have all the correct drivers installed, using the adb that i have which is 1.3 and one that comes with a kit of the sdk tools and all that, i feel like it is a phone issue more than computer as its failing to erase the mmc, i am wondering if there is other commands i could put in the phone to figure this out or if anyone knows what it all means i would greatly appreciate any help Thanks guys an gals.
iv tried also to load a custom recovery but cant do that because it comes up with incomplete bootloader on the phone, is anyone even able to help? i have no idea what the hell i am doing and nobody seems interested to try and help me.

Can I give you a bit of friendly advice firstly if you look at this thread you resurrected it is dated about a year ago and also if you look at the person who posted his last post anywhere on Xda was over a year ago ( you can find this out by clicking on is name/profile and view forum posts).
Now my point is resurrecting this very old post and and asking a question to the person who posted it along time ago is not likely going to get you a answer from him.You probably need to find newer up to date posts or answers by doing a more in depth search.
Saying all that here is a little info that may help you it is a slightly different solution but may help you >> http://forum.xda-developers.com/sprint-lg-g3/general/guide-fix-hard-brick-recovery-guide-t3132359 << this is a more up to date thread and if you post your question there with as much detail as possible about your problem and anything you have done to fix it then you may solve your problem.
If you choose to try the advice given in that thread don't forget to use a tot file for your particulate model and not the one posted in the thread.
Good luck with your problem.

HTC desire 526 vzw prepaid image files [download link]

See my other thread about the upgrade message when I connect to HTC sync manager. (Even though the phone reboots and goes thru several flash screens, nothing is changed)
Phone is HTC Desire 526 Verizon prepaid.
This time, I let it run again, but I opened the program temp folder in explorer and grabbed the files.
It has a 1.2GB file that I'm guessing is system image and a 10MB file labeled boot image.
I uploaded it to my Google drive in the hopes that someone here can find a way to use it to get us a custom ROM, or at least root, going.
Here's the files:

I pulled those files from the temporary download location of the HTC program on Windows, just after it downloaded the update, while it was copying the files to the phone.
It was in the Program Files directory of the HTC desktop program, instead of the windows user profile temp folder like most programs.
The files uploaded are the update files.

That might be difficult, given that the US-market 526 was only sold by Verizon and doesn't seem to be too popular of a phone. I never found a way to order it unlocked straight from HTC.
Does the boot.img have an unlocked bootloader?I need one thats unlocked
there is no unlocked bootloader for the Vreizon prepaid Desire 526.
I posted these files in the hopes that someone could use them to get us unlocked.
Thank You for the files.
I will take a look and let you guys know how to flash it.
It will help the bootloader issue.
I need these files to keep working on this.
Thanks again
---------- Post added at 05:54 PM ---------- Previous post was at 05:46 PM ----------
To flash the rom. Whichever of the 2 downloads it is ???
rename the file to
Code:
0PM3IMG.zip
Copy 0PM3IMG.zip to the external sd card.
Boot the phone into the bootloader / download mode.
It should find the file on the sdcard and ask you if you want to install it.
I will test it out later.
Basically if you mess something up in the phone by deleting files or whatnot this should be useable to flash back to stock.
I know I'm just an amateur with programming but couldn't you/we just "Frankencode" it? Like have two/three of the same file and keep one original, have another be the successful edit, and have another be the experimental editing?
To some extent that is what i'm working on.
The Desire 626s is the same chipset and the boot-loader is unlockable.
These RUU files / ( Factory Rom ) ruu = rom update utility come packed with some goodies.
The bootloader is in the packages for the 526 and the 626.
The question is how to flash the files from the 626 to the 526.
The ruu uses a couple different security measures to make sure the files aren't tampered with.
The main zip file is signed with keys and verified to be signed against the public half of the keypair.
It's a file called keys in the /res folder of the recovery.img ramdisk.
By generating a pair of keys ( Private and Publick ) .pk8 and .pem and dumping the public key with dumppublickeys it is possible to change the key in the /res/key of the ramdisk. This means we can modify the main zip file and sign it with our own keys and it will pass the signature test.
But the zip files inside of the main zip are also signed / encrypted.
We can decrypt the inner zip files with bruuveal. So that can extract the zip files and not get errors.
Or use the HTC Decrypt tool found on this forum.
The interesting thing here is that prior to the ruu flashing the phone it flashes the HOSD.
That's the smaller zip file.
The only reason for HTC to do that i'm thinking is because the hosd / hboot that is on the phone to begin with blocks writing of the necessary partitions by some means.
So the hosd is pre-updated to allow the main ruu to flash.
This is not the case on the 626s. The other interesting thing is that the hosd flashes by itself in the main zip not a sub zip and like I said I can get around the first file signature.
If I can get the 626s firmware to flash to the 526 then we can unlock the boot-loader.
If we can find a way to get around the inner file signing ( If I can figure out where the public half of the key is)
You can flash the software using fastboot...
fastboot flash zip <name 1st zip>
fastboot flash zip <name 2nd zip>
If the second file will not be able to - use htc_fastboot
where to take - when unpacking (executing)standart RUU file
Anyone find a solution to this problem? I have the desire 526 and it froze during upgrading with the htc sync, now it doesn't go past the boot screen and I've searched for a solution to this problem everywhere.
Is it safe to say that none of the forums have a solution to the Desire 526 vzw prepaid problem? I've searched multiple forums, youtube videos, and no one either answer the problem or the answers do not work. However most of us are just looking for the original boot & recovery, but that seems to be an impossible mission. Hopefully, someone in some forum will come up with a solution that actually works, or someone will actually respond to some of our questions.

No idea. I just put these up in the hopes that someone would be able to put them to good use. I'm not a dev, sorry.
I was able to find quite a few RUU's for HTCD100LVW after excavaing into the mythical 2nd & later pages of Google search. I can't remember how bad my soft brick was, but I spend somewhere near 40 hours ****ing this phone up before finally pulling the right bootable sd image on BigCountry's BL/root/TWRP method

D852 - Unable to flash Lineage 16 because of error 7

Hi everyone, first time here. I should say i have computing background and had no experience whatsoever with android other than using it. Now im trying to revive my old LG G3 i loved so much with Lineage 16 for android 9. I tried to follow guides found here and there with flashing to 4.4.2 to be able to root, flashing TWRP recovery, etc.
I managed to get some valuable experience on how android is working but still, im stuck in 4.4.2 because anything i've tried ended up with softbricked device or error 7 when flashing lineage 16.
The error 7 message looks like it detects my device as being model "." so it cannot continue. I've tried removing the code lines talking about the model restriction only to get another error on the unfindable updater-script.
I've flashed back to 4.4.2 with the .tot and .dll method successfully multiple times to get my G3 back in working state but now i have to admit, i am short of ideas...
I would like insight from more experienced users that successfully flash LineageOS 16 on canadian LG G3 (d852) on what are the errors i do. After 25+ hours, i need help.
Thank you in advance
Do yo follow that procedure?
https://wiki.lineageos.org/devices/d852/install
error still
I gave it another try tonight, wasnt exactly what i did before but i end up with roughly the same message :
Starting ADB sideload feature...
Installing '/data/media/sideload.zip'...
Checking for MD5 file...
Skipping MD5 check: no MD5 file found
Warning: No file_contexts
E3004: This package is for device: g3, d852; this device is .
E:unknown command [log]
E:Error executing updater binaryin zip '/data/media/sideload.zip'
Ok, finally using both this guide And removing the lines of code for model, it finally worked!
Thank you very much for your time
