[INFO][UNOFFICIAL] CM10.1 bug report thread. - T-Mobile, Samsung Galaxy SIII

So because Steve has more important things to do than keep the OP updated on the official CM thread...and because it's now 800+ pages of iffy reports: let's use this thread to report what works and what doesn't. Be sure to post release and kernel information in each post so we can keep this organized. This OP will be maintained!
O.k. Ive got post 2 for known issues so they're easier to locate. Report them here and I'll keep updating for the most recent nightly.

I think I'll start by clarifying what is meant by call echo as I think some people are reporting it wrong. The call echo has and always is experienced by the person on then other end. Not you. I have been on aosp builds , cm builds since the sgs1 that had problems with echo and it has always been the other person telling me they hear themselves or hear the background too much. Simply toggling background noise on/off does not fix the issue. If you honestly don't have people reporting this than you must be one lucky person. Or is hasn't happened yet.

Doesn't happen to me..... But I flashed on top of cm10 dirty flash don't know if this might have helped

I get it after dirty flashing no kernels or anything. It happened on old builds of CM10 also like monkey stated. It happens on other devices as well. My buddy's HTC vivid has horrible back ground noise... This is truly my only gripe with 10.1 I tried to run it for 2 days straight but too many complaints... I've seen some submits in the gerrit to fix it on qcom devices but Steve said it was missing way too many things so at least it is recognized. Just need to figure out what the work around is to bypass it lol.

I appreciate the contributions so far...keep them coming! I want to make sure we can find the known issues easily, so this seems like an easy way to locate them. Support will remain in the official thread of course.

AOKP and Cm9 rom random bootloops

So can we now say that both are having the same issue? Reading both threads and it appeared at one time it may be the kernel. Eugene has been doing an amazing job and it seemed like people were putting the blame there, but this can't be since these bootloops have occurred both before and after his kernel. For me I never had one until I flashed his kernel. But I'm thinking that some had them earlier than others and I bet some of us are feeling a little dumb saying, "mine is butter" or "I don't know what you did wrong but mine doesn't do that! " Looks like right now Eugene has possibly found the problem and will soon fix it, because as much as I love this rom, I'm ready to flash another. And doesn't AOKP and Cm9 work together? So it only makes sense to how this can be happening. I do want to say still great work to you guys who put this together! Whitehawkx you are awesome and good luck with your school and new roms for GS3. And finally thanks to Eugene for picking up and trying to fix things. Anyways, I'm no dev and I'm still learning about all of this so this may mean nothing and I just come off as stupid Lol!

I believe CM9 doesn't have random reboots. They have an issue with occasional reboots when trying to mount via USB. A known CM9 bug. Since Im no dev, and Eugene is a well known and respected dev, I'm taking his word that he is well on his way to finding the problem, and fixing it.!!

Ok I misread some of that forum then. I thought I saw a few that had random ones. But I also agree that Eugene is on his way to fixing it.

How different is this compared to an actual logcat? What do devs prefer? I have seen a thread how to logcat but I haven't had the time to read it all and attempt one.

I was beginning to think I was the only one lol. I'm running chimera whic is a version of both cm9 and aokp. And I get random boots like twice or three times a day.
This is why I always end up going back to the darkside rom

I've been running the nightlies since 6/20, I'm currently running 6/28 and I've never had a random reboot with CM9. I do get the occasional screen lockup after a phone call, but only 2 this week.

AOKP users, Eugene has posted a fix to the Rom. Try this rom out. Crossing fingers!

JB Rom

I'm on whitehawkx jb ROM. for some reason my in call volume is super loud. I tried to lower it to the lowest setting and its still super loud. How can I fix this?
Sent from my SGH-T999 using xda premium
Read the thread you got the rom at. Its an experimental rom some things are not going to be proper on every build. I'd say flash back to stock for now. Unless you can deal with it, or find a fix by messing with settings and report it to the community
Sent from my SGH-T999 using xda premium
Yeah I'll search through the thread and see if there is anything to reduce the volume. But so far from what I have read people are complaining about how quiet it is on their headset and the echo issue. I have neither problems except for high volume so I think I am the odd man out.

not a problem what r u running ?
I'm running round and round I get little flickers on pages when they refresh? Also GPS points north when I'm looking south lol makes sky maps hard to read. Other than that doing pretty good hopefully battery will settle a bit like it did on 10/02 nightly.

Yes, that is a known issue. I get it as well. This question was answered (asked by me) on PhantomPhreak's CM10 forum (page 460). But yes, Chris is aware of this.
anyone try notasbroken?
10/17 is a no go as of right now guess we wait for 10/18
Then again no one said how they flashed it..maybe a fresh flash won't let it boot but a dirty flash will?? Maybe something that's in an older build will let it boot..just food for thought.
Random note in aosp ROMs my downloads r slow compared to touchwiz and I read around other people experience this also..and I can confirm cm7 doesn't have this problem..only cm9 and cm10

I've experienced two random reboots since flashing roundnround. Just wanted to let you know you're not the only one.
Anyone know the status of SBrissen's AOSP rom? Hasn't been a test build in a month now. Just curious
No Radios work since Won't Work and What's Next right?
DERP I didn't see the changelog :cyclops:

I didn't think I was. I posted the logcat to help the developers.

[Q] Is there any Inverted Gapps that are bug free?

I've been trying to find a few that work without a problem and thus far I've only found a few apks like phonesky and mms and talk.
Anyone have some more/ a comprehensive package?
oh and does anyone think this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1797717
will suffice?
Oh and does phone.apk have any bearing on calling?
Like does it affect quality and buggy-ness or is it just the user interface?

Justun bean hands down. Zero bugs. Will only get bugs if you don't fully wipe. He also pumps out a lot of updates. However not really liking the way that thread is going. Ppl aren't reading and he's getting pissed to the point he's making a password to download the gapps. Password is broken down into 3 parts spread in the OP..... WHAT HAS XDA come to!! ?

Cm10.1

I am currently running cm10 December 2nd nightly I decided to hold off moving to cm10.1 for awhile to minimize the amount of bugs present at the initial release.
My question is what bugs are present at this stage of the nightlies, I don't use Bluetooth so any bugs pertaining to that can be skipped over, I need the text, call, and gtalk to work because I have a 2 month old newborn and have constant calls, text, and video calls with family.
I figured it'd be best to ask in Q&A rather than clutter the development thread any further
Sent from my SGH-T999 using xda app-developers app
I've ran cm 10.1 couple weeks ago and was pretty stable. Im sure it only improved over the weeks. You shouldbe fine just make sure you do a clean flash and flash the 4.2 gapps
Sent from my SGH-T999 using xda app-developers app
I was pretty much in the same boat as you, but I went ahead and dove in.
and.. it was great! I love how cyanogenmod included the updating system. I personally haven't run into any issues except the bluetooth sounding wonky/cutting in and out. Not as much customization as some other roms.. but the simplicity is nice. :good:
On CM10 in gtalk I could hear the person on the other end but they couldn't hear me is this still present in cm10.1?
