JB Rom - T-Mobile, Samsung Galaxy SIII

I'm on whitehawkx jb ROM. for some reason my in call volume is super loud. I tried to lower it to the lowest setting and its still super loud. How can I fix this?
Sent from my SGH-T999 using xda premium

Read the thread you got the rom at. Its an experimental rom some things are not going to be proper on every build. I'd say flash back to stock for now. Unless you can deal with it, or find a fix by messing with settings and report it to the community

Yeah I'll search through the thread and see if there is anything to reduce the volume. But so far from what I have read people are complaining about how quiet it is on their headset and the echo issue. I have neither problems except for high volume so I think I am the odd man out.

Volume mod?

Hello Everyone, I was wondering if T-mobile has a volume mod such as the one listed here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1722136&page=5
I tried installing that but it didn't work. I'm guessing because that thread is for the international version of the phone. Does anyone know if there is a USA mod or another way to increase the volume? I've searched and couldn't find anything about it. I would have thought someone would have asked this question already.
Check out Volume+ in the play store.

I looked it up and I'm going to give it a shot, is there anyway to adjust the hardware volume though? Will a mod or a custom rom do it?
Thebpp I suggested works wonders. You don't need anything else.

The only problem is that I might be installing a Jelly bean custom rom and the program says its not compatible.
Nothing works for Jellybean yet. At least not for system sounds. I have a gnex. Believe me I've searched.

Ok maybe I'll hold off on doing a custom rom for now. I hate missing my notifications and need the increase in volume. I guess it is only a matter of time before someone figures it out. My old t=mobile vibrant sucked but the one thing it did let me do was just type in a code and increase the volume through the menu. If only it were that easy on this phone.
I actually find this phone louder than my old galaxy S. Either way, Volume+ will definitely work for ics.

Also interested.
I too am very interested in the volume hack mod like the one in this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1722136 for this US T-Mobile variant. Before the JB update I tried volume+ and was not really impressed. While it did make the phone louder, it came at the expense of sound quality. This is mainly because the app is basically just turning up the various bands on an equalizer all at the same time.
Shame that the international version gets all the attention but I guess I can understand why since there are more of them around.

CM 10 Echo (cm-10-20121020)

Ok before you say "BLA BLA BLA search" I did.. both with google and the built in thing.
All the results either didn't work for me that I found or was just someone saying "BA BLA BLA search"
I tried asking in the dev section but I didn't get any responses and I don't know if there is a IRC.... but anyways
I am having an echo when my phone is on echo on both of my galaxy S IIIs.
ie: If my brother is calling me on his phone (Not a galaxy s III) he hears himself when my phone is on speaker.
And if I call my dad who has a galaxy S III running CM10 as well I hear myself.
It is really really annoying
So no one is willing to help?
This issue is really annoying
I have a bit of an echo as well but like you, have seen no response to a fix yet.

There is no fix. The devs have to figure out how to fix it.

Thank you two for responding. I rather know "it is not fixed and we are having the issue as well" then being the only one with the issue .
The devs do know about the issue right? It is almost as bad as the flickering.
On T-Mobile cm10 as well. One thing I've done to fix it is just lowering the volume. Something with mic and noise cancellation isnt working properly.

I had this echo every time I updated to a custom ROM. I finally unrooted, and was finally able to update my phone to the latest firmware and OTA update. Once I did that I rooted again and flashed CM10...no more echo. I'm convinced it was updating phone - are you up to date with your OTA?

I am on the i747UCLG1 baseband. Is that not the latest? It shouldn't affect that anyways.
I am not on the latest OTA. I'll look into trying that some time this week.

[INFO][UNOFFICIAL] CM10.1 bug report thread.

So because Steve has more important things to do than keep the OP updated on the official CM thread...and because it's now 800+ pages of iffy reports: let's use this thread to report what works and what doesn't. Be sure to post release and kernel information in each post so we can keep this organized. This OP will be maintained!
O.k. Ive got post 2 for known issues so they're easier to locate. Report them here and I'll keep updating for the most recent nightly.

## KNOWN ISSUES - as of 12-28 build ##
1) HW overlay flicker
2) WiFi tethering (?)
3) MMS send report as failure (?)
4) mp3 players lag device, requires reboot.

I think I'll start by clarifying what is meant by call echo as I think some people are reporting it wrong. The call echo has and always is experienced by the person on then other end. Not you. I have been on aosp builds , cm builds since the sgs1 that had problems with echo and it has always been the other person telling me they hear themselves or hear the background too much. Simply toggling background noise on/off does not fix the issue. If you honestly don't have people reporting this than you must be one lucky person. Or is hasn't happened yet.

Doesn't happen to me..... But I flashed on top of cm10 dirty flash don't know if this might have helped
I get it after dirty flashing no kernels or anything. It happened on old builds of CM10 also like monkey stated. It happens on other devices as well. My buddy's HTC vivid has horrible back ground noise... This is truly my only gripe with 10.1 I tried to run it for 2 days straight but too many complaints... I've seen some submits in the gerrit to fix it on qcom devices but Steve said it was missing way too many things so at least it is recognized. Just need to figure out what the work around is to bypass it lol.

I appreciate the contributions so far...keep them coming! I want to make sure we can find the known issues easily, so this seems like an easy way to locate them. Support will remain in the official thread of course.

Question about jb kernel

So I haven't been in these threads for a while and was hoping someone would be so kind as to clarify. Now that we have an official JB kernel is the dreaded call echo a thing of the past since we no longer need skyrocket kernels? Or is it still hit or miss among different devices? I suffered from this issue with every kernel/rom combination. This is the only thing preventing me from going back to custom jb roms. Thanks in advance!

Some people have mentioned it, but I personally have never had that issue

+1 i actually never had any call echo on any rom i guess im just lucky and always clean flash dirty sometimes but the more you dirty flash the more problems you can get

Can anyone recommend a stable rom

Trying to flash my friends sprint note 2
Every rom I find is either page not found or extremely low volume or a bunch of work arounds thanks

Low volume issue is fixable if you turn it up in kernel settings.

i am actually going back to whomp after being on jelly and finally on avatar rom cm 10.1
i loved the premise of the avatar rom but the inconsistency of the volume as well as the lack of support or questions answered has left me wnating to go back to whomp. the volume is EXTREME!!! and i love it. oh and everything works fine...
however, i believe teh volume is tied in to the kernel.
I am going to second Jellybomb. The most recent updates to the ROM really turned the volume up. I am no longer able to set my volume levels to the max setting.
If you want a solid stock rom with a stock look; gotta try Digiblurs.

Also Synergy
There is no BEST and yet they are all the BEST. Members are expected to research and read through the development threads before altering their device. The only thing you will get here is a list of all the ROM/KERNEL because every member has found what is best for them. You can get the same list by looking at the first few pages in development.
Thread closed.
Have a great day!
