Already installed. Is there any update for drivers?

Better reinstall the drivers in computer and try again. Once the same happened to me and only the USB port I used for installation was accepting the pass through, strange behaviour I must say!

I already tried reinstalling drivers from aio kit but it didn't respond.
So still the problem is sometimes it works sometimes it don't

remember u need to do again as many times as you connect and yeah remember use latest HTC Sync software

What version of ActiveSync are you using?
well i tried with version 4.5,4.2 and even 3.8..but the problem still exists....any suggestions???
ActiveSync 3.8 can't work with WM5 devices
i tried with 4.2 and again 4.5..but nothing seems to b happend...wat to do now???
Ahmeed,
Use the Troubleshooter in the Help menu for Activesync 4.5; this will test your connections. Most likely scenario is you have a firewall or other security problem that is preventing the phone from connecting.

I second that.
but below fast support
1) disable your firewall and try to connect, if not o.k
2) on your PPC go to settings>Connections> USB to pc >disable the advanced network functionality.

Hi,
Did you solve your problem?
If not, did you delete any notifications from your device using either sktools or memmaid?
If yes, it may be the reason you cannot connect. Look at this thread and see if it helps:

Why didn't you try to force the device to bootloader and try again? DON"T PANIC!!!
Then Use the RUU tool attached! and put your favorite xxx.nbh in the folder
Enjoy~~
Try Start/settings/connections/usb to pc and click or unclick the check mark.

1. restart computer, or
2. reset your Hermes, or
3. uninstall Active-sync, then install again (may need to restart PC again),
OK? ^_^
P.S. be sure that you had tick the usb connection option from the activeSync option. ^_^

Help: I cannot Sync my i780 at all

Hello every one...
I got a very interesting problem.. I cannot Sync my i780 completely... !!
I'm running Windows Vista Enterprise on my Laptop, and installed Windows Mobile Device Center..
even though I can connect in USB mode, and detects my phone as USB flash drive...!
Everything was working before.. and suddenly stopped working!!!
I reinstalled Windows Mobile Device Center, hard reset my device.. and no good..
Then I gave it a last chance and tried on my PC with Vista Business fresh installation, and interestingly it did detect my device, and be able to establish a partnership!!
but I'm doing all my work on my laptop because of the job's demands.. and of course will not reinstall windows just to get the mobile device center to work..
Any ideas, help or hint, will be really appreciated.. it is urgently needed
Thanx in advance...
Suspect your laptop DHCP Client has disabled

What I am suspecting is your laptop DHCP Client has disabled. In the future if you face this problem again just make sure that DHCP Client service status in services.msc
Well.. The DHCP Client service is working.. it wasn't disabled before...
also I restarted the service.. and again no good.. cannot Sync neither through Bluethooth nor USB..!!
any more ideas??
what is your rom version?
If you use HH5 you should check utillity setting in program and change connection by cable from USB to active sync
I didn't flash my ROM at all by the way.. and it is set to ActiveSync not to USB I didn't miss that =)
hope that there is a solution out there.. =S because it is really mandatory for me to get some of my job done...
thanx in advance
Try turning off "advanced network functionality" in the USB connectivity settings.
Slows the transfer down a lot but whenever I'm having problems it works without fail.

That's odd because my stock i780 (has DXHE1 on it) has the option for it.
I've had occasions where Activesync will just stop working for no reason and then come back to life a little later... I have no idea why.
Sorry mate, but I'm out of ideas...
Don't be sorry man.. =)
Thanx for your effort and time.
Probably I will reinstall the system after a while then =)
Best Regards

Usb tether on aosp win xp

Hi all. Hey, can anyone give concise instructions for usb tether on aosp using Win XP?
I know you need a tetherxp.ini file. Turns out, I actually had that file floating around in my sd from some tinkering a long time ago. So I dropped the tetherxp file on my pc. But when I try the usb tether, windows wizard prompts me to find that file, but then wont seem to let me point to it or select it.
Just wondering what im doing wrong. Im back on sense now, cuz I really rely on usb tether, but would like to use aosp sometimes, too.
If anyone could help, I'd much, much appreciate it. (And yes, I have searched and googled already - just havebt found anything particularly helpful). Thanks.

Sorry, but...bump.
Not totally an impatient asshole, but am kinda surprised no one is familiar with this issue, or posting.
Been an xda member since '08, and this is only my 2nd thread, and have tried to help many.

built in usb tether in cmsettings should automatically on xp
The tether settings under Wireless and Networks, and the drivers should be in HTC sync, or the Android SDK. One of the two.
You guys are both incorrect. When USB tethering to win XP (specifically), from aosp. you have to have the terherxp.inf file.
Android even gives you a prompt saying you need it, but the instructions aren't clear at all.
Anyone familiar, please post. Thanks.
Thanks for the effort though.
@drmaycinasha
I already have the necessary file, just can't seem yo 'browse' to it. Thanks though
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA App
I'm assuming that these are the exact steps that you've tried?
Download the following configuration file (tetherxp.inf) to your Windows XP computer. Typically, you can right-click on the link and choose “Save As”. (If your browser appends .html to the file name, you will need to edit the name to remove the .html extension.)
Use the USB cable that came with your phone to connect your phone to your computer.
On the Android phone, press Home, press Menu, and touch Settings to open the Settings application.
Touch Wireless & networks > Tethering & portable hotspot.
Check USB tethering.
When Windows XP’s New Hardware Wizard opens, select No, not at this time and click Next.
Select Install from a list or specific location and click Next.
Click Browse to browse to the directory where you installed the configuration file you downloaded in Step 1 and click Next. Windows XP uses the configuration file to configure itself to support USB tethering with the Android phone.
When Windows XP finishes installing the software for Android USB Ethernet/RNDIS, click Finish.

Yeah how do you do this? None of th HTC or Google drivers work on XP. XP finds a device called "Android Phone". It works automatically on Windows 7 but not XP.

strange. i installed it 2 days ago without any problem. do u have antivirus on ur computer? coz think u have to disable it before u install it. also check bortaks troubleshooting guide in Desire Q&A, if u go down to resources, im pretty sure he has a HTC driver there to download. but i think its an old version.

kk will do tnx
So after contacting HTC support this is a comon problem this is the solution
A. Run HTC Sync/HTC Sync Manager setup until you reach the error regarding the drivers - DO NOT CLICK YES OR NO - leave it open (closing allows it to remove its temporary file... and we need them!)
B. With the installer still open, Click Start > Search HTCDriver_4.0.0.009_20121107.exe - You should be able to open the containing folder and then move it across.
D. Close the HTC sync/HTC Sync Manager installer that you left open earlier, now run this HTCDRIVER file you just moved from you temp folder.
E. This installation will also come up with an error - AGAIN DO NOT CLOSE the window.
F. Click Start - Search - HTCDriver.msi - Open containing folder and drop to Desktop and close previous installer.
G . You can now run HTCDriver.msi and the driver will install
H . Once this has installed, run the original HTC Sync or Sync Manager installation file. This will now run uninterrupted as the drivers are already installed and it will skip this stage.
5. Send e2e ticket number and LMI Session id to HTC escalations via email with the subject line “HTC Sync/HTC Sync Manager Driver issue”
The only thing i did differnt is i for B i had to use Run > %temp% then search in the folder that was created last put the files onto the destop
This does work so im now ready to root
Thanx all for your help
