HI! After I flashed my TyTN second time, Active Sync on my home computer and my work computer detect the phone and freeze with "Retrieving settings" dialog.... I thought it has something to do with the phone, but on any other computer that I not synced before , my laptop or new xp and vista instalations on other partition on my home computer(same computer and same cable, and same software installed!) it sync perfectly.
I tryied to find any residual registry or files to delete (i delete the profiles in document and settings) but can't find anything to solve this. I tryied reinstalling Active Sync 4.5 but donst help either.
Active Sync troubleshooting dont solve anything.
Someone know a workarround o what files can be creathing this ?
What do Active Sync while displaying "Retrieve settings" ?
Go into Start>settings>connections>usb to pc
untick the box...then try.
Thanks but dosn't help. Cannot enter that option, and I can sync on others pcs and other o.s. (in another patition) on the same computer without changing anything on the pocketpc.
I googled and found lots of peobple with the same trouble and no one find any solution.
PS: I dont have any firewall and tested switching off all networks interfaces. I can ping the pocktpc assigned ip perfectly.

Where it must be that folder? I don't find any mobile device folder on my disks
I deleted the "mobile favourites" now. i have missed that one before. But still the same Hang...
When you make a "asociation" to that pc (not being a guest). Where it store that information ?

HI...i got a T mobile Wizard(i dont know if its the correct name of my device but its d same as k-jam).The problem is i cant connect my device with PC using Active SYnc...My PC detects my phone but when i start ACtive Sync it shows me connecting and after some time it says cant connect.I tried alot i changed the PC i changed the cable but nothing works....Plz need help in this regard....My Rom version is 1.8.10.2 WWE and its an old one....Plz

What version of ActiveSync are you using?
well i tried with version 4.5,4.2 and even 3.8..but the problem still exists....any suggestions???
ActiveSync 3.8 can't work with WM5 devices
i tried with 4.2 and again 4.5..but nothing seems to b happend...wat to do now???

Use the Troubleshooter in the Help menu for Activesync 4.5; this will test your connections. Most likely scenario is you have a firewall or other security problem that is preventing the phone from connecting.

but below fast support
1) disable your firewall and try to connect, if not o.k
2) on your PPC go to settings>Connections> USB to pc >disable the advanced network functionality.

If not, did you delete any notifications from your device using either sktools or memmaid?

Hi All, I have a Hermes with WM6 and have just installed Vista Ultimate and am not able to get my Hermes to Sync.
Vista claims it does not recognize the device . . . I have tried via USB & Bluetooth. Any ideas how I can resolve this?

Same thing happen to me the first time what ROM did you use? I just use Fun key rom and everything works great.

Even I have wmc6.1 installed, my computer doesn't recognize my Hermes starting from build 1921, it opens it as a storage device only, but no syncing !!, downloading Starbase's ROM right now and will try...
Vista has issues with everything its a pile of *beep*
I am also having similar issues. I just got my new laptop that runs Windows Vista Business and I can get WMDC 6.1 to sync and see the device but it will not load my contacts and calendar onto the latop. Its becoming very frustrating and I'm not sure why it won't sync the data. I'm running the vp3g 3.62 rom on my phone.

Click...
Start-> Settings -> Connections -> USB to PC
Uncheck the box "Enable advanced network functionality"
if it is already unchecked, then try checking it. That seemed to work for me when I had problems with WMDC.
Still the same results for me. My phone can connect to the computer... it just won't sync the data.

Install Windows Mobile Device Center for Vista from Windows Download center. Then everything will work fine. It is my experience.
One thing that might help from my experience:
Take out the microSD card. I had some problems with it inside my phone - no sync. When I took it out everything worked fine! Then I formated my card and problem was solved... don't know what it was all about.
Last month i uninstalled the wmdc and then reinstalled it... i got the connection right but not always...
THen last week i had to reinstall windows and then when i did and update , i got an all new WMDC. This version works fine and good... No issues now...
I have the latest WMDC and have tried everything so far mentioned still and still no sync!?!
Very frustrating.
Any other ideas? Am I missing something really basic.

After downloading WMDC finally the Jasjam was recognised however when trying to sync the following error occurs:
"Cannot connect with current connection settings. To check your connection settings, select Start, then Settings, then Connections."
So i went to that part of my phone but have no idea what I should be checking!
All help with this is much appreciated (if only things would just work )

Hard reset always helps. Sometimes it's a bad micro SD card, I learned this the hard way.
I had all sorts of problem with Activesync before. Have since upgraded my laptop to Vista and instead of ActiveSync it has Windows Mobile Device Centre. No problem ever since.
I cleared my drive C (Laptop) installed Activesync and problem solved Activesync is working 100%.

Hi every body,I am new here i was wondering if i can put english language in my htc touch pro 2,he's now runing on german,the phone is one 6.5 windows,i can see that it has german rom,can somebody give me step by step proces how to put english rom in my phone,also will that lock the phone,because it works on every network now,i don't know is it simfree,i bought it like this.

yeah, you should Hard-SPL first, it won't lock the SIM, don't worry

The ROM is the Operating system part of the device. The radio is the part that controls all the radio functions lilke the GPS, cellular services, wifi, bluetooth, FM and such. It is not necessary to flash a new radio, but you could try any one of several English ROMs. Check the link in my signature for a listing of current ROMs for the Touch Pro2 (Rhodium).

I am having problem now with my htc,i can't sync it with pc,i have windows xp sp2,and i downloaded activesync 4.5,i conected phone with pc once and i hardspl the phone,but now when i am trying to sync it with my computer it won't recognize the phone,i was having trouble with syncing and the first time because the phone is on german language,i somehow conect it with pc,but now i can't,please help me.

On your device, go to Start >Settings > Connections > USBtoPC. Uncheck the box that says "Enable faster data synchronization." Then plug it in to the PC and see if that works.
like i said phone is in german,i go to start,than i got einstllunget which is settings,i go there,i click mehr which is more than i've got verbindungen i beleive that is connections ther is usb zu pc,and there is for me to chose activesync mit outlook,als externe festplatte and internetfreigabe,down is for me to check and uncheck esrst nach usb-verbindungstyp fragen,wenn gerat mit pc verbunden wird,i can't find that that you said.

In USBtoPC there is only one checkbox. The others are radio buttons. The checkbox should be under the radio button for ActiveSync. Make sure that box is unchecked and ActiveSync is the selected connection. After that, just tap OK and sync.

Try it on a PC with XP Pro x86 with the language pack installed. ActiveSync should immediately pick it up and connect.
a read somewhere that phone won't sync with pc because i use this kind of usb cable

The original HTC cable is an eleven-pin miniUSB cable. I have only ever used the standard five-pin miniUSB cables like the picture you linked to since I got the device a year ago. In fact, I just built and flashed a ROM to it using that cable two days ago.
I'm not saying that that isn't your problem. Maybe it will work. I'm just saying that I have never needed it.
i don't know what else it could be,i connected the phone with pc once,and i hardslp the phone,then several days leter i conected it once again and active sync started i selected x beacuse i didn't need acivesync because i only wanted to charge the phone,tommorow i tried to connect phone with pc,i tried 100 times and i can't sync it,activesync won't start on phone when i plug usb cable in it,it only charges the phone.

If you already have Hard SPL, then you can flash ROMs directly from the SD card. If you flash a new ROM, it should restore your connection settings and allow you to start over.
