I was thinking about re-buying it, even though it disappointed me back then when I had it. It was recently updated to ICS and I found it to be laggy, especially in the homescreen and with a livewallpaper, then it had also a bunch of bugs, the most annoying one was the camera button not working all the time when trying to snap a quick photo without turning on the display and everything, and the autofocus being slow and crappy in video recording. There were more bugs but I don't remember them too well.
Also, back then they all had the crappy screen with yellow tints, I got mine replaced but even the replaced screen was rather crappy, with inferior color reproduction, and yellowish whites, in comparison to the old screen which looked AMAZING, except for the dark yellow patches.
Tell me if it has gotten better in these few months, it should have gotten a bunch of updates too.
Also, can you tell me if games run well? My favourite android games that didn't run too well back then were Wind Up Knight, Let's Golf 3, Asphalt 6, and probably a couple more but I don't remember. I'd also like to know benchmark scores in NenaMark2, Antutu and Quadrant, I'm willing to install custom kernel and customized stock based roms.

Its a damn good phone, but if you didnt like it then you probably wont know. Most of those bugs are gone and my screen looks good. I run games just fine, but I am not a major gamer.
Probably should have put which phone you are talking about and put this is the QA section. I assume it is the Xperia S.
Yeah, it's the XS, I'm sorry.
My main problem with it was the disappointing performance. It literally ran less smoothly than my old Xperia Ray, and I tried EVERYTHING except for custom kernels, because there weren't many back then. I'm willing to try them now, if they do make a big difference.
I don't remember on what firmware was I though.
Which bugs still persist?

Custom roms make a big difference. There really aren't any bugs that bother me that are still around. Its definitely one of the best Sony phones for dev support. On KA20.1 its really fast. I can't say enough positive things about this phone and I have owned one since it first came out. I has its flaws but there are no perfect phones.

Can you tell me which flaws still remain? The only hardware flaws I found with this phone were the unresponsive dots but I learned to get them to work everytime by swiping them instead of pressing them. I don't really mind non removable battery or no SD (I'll never fill 32Gb). The screen should be good now, I don't know if you had to get yours replaced, but at first they used to replace it with a ****ty screen which had tinted whites and poor contrast.

The software flaws that annouyed me were how slow and stuttery it was (is it still like that on stock?), camera button that worked half the time when going from sleep to snap (that feature was also advertised but it didn't work), terrible autofocus, and there were some bugs with the facebook thingy and some widgets, IIRC.
Also, if you could link me to a changelog of the new firmwares that came out recently I'd appreciate it.
Ah, sorry for the double post.
It's a good phone, but don't ask for miracles.
Buy one. Unlock it and flash a JB rom

Was all the fuss about the cap worth it? Aside the screen tearing, is there really a noticeable difference? Do games run better? Is scrolling really smoother?
fix what fix ?
Where is this fix? and how do we tell what screen we have?
30 FPS fix is what this guy is talking about.

Yes the difference is quite noticeable, whole phone runs alot smoother and faster, better touch response, etc. That being said the screen tearing is pretty bad and it obviously comes with the other problems of breaking the camera and all that.
Anyway to those who might have been able to test it, Would say it has noticeable difference even if it didn't. What I mean is the folks who probably were not aware of it before are the ones who would most likely just jump and say it's better. Compared to those who noticed right off the back, if that makes sense.

I have hardware revision 003 but I haven't tried the fix yet. My lag was never really that significant in the first place and I'm planning on replacing this when Sprint gets their updated batches with the light leak and screen fixes so I don't want to root yet. I'd rather hold off until there's a stable ROM with all the features working. (Camera is a necessity, unfortunately)
This is my first Android phone, and coming from a Touch Pro 2, I found the responsiveness slightly better on the the Evo than on the TP2.
I have a friend who has the Sprint HTC Hero, and I noticed his screen shifts and overall responsiveness to be waaaaay better.
I can say now having applied the fix, the UI is as snappy on the EVO as it is on the Hero. As far as games go, it's a lot smoother.
So I'll say this, from the perspective of a first time user, minus the bad press and forum posts, the Evo is a great phone. With the fix, it's even better!
Edit: Let me add that while I was not pleased in having a phone where the features were halved, this was still the phone for me. Having a technical background AND knowing HTC's history, as well as the history of the devs (ie GPS functionality in the Moguls), I knew it was a matter of time for the fix to be found. But I can definitely view this from the perspective of the non-technical person who don't want to fool with rooting anything. They want something that works out of the box. I may not agree with the "whining" of some, I could relate.
Hello there XDA,
I have been using a Galaxy S for a while now..I am pretty much satisfied but I hate the fact that am running custom roms, and everytime there is a new update, I have to go through the whole backup and restoring process..Anyways, thats not huge issue..
So am planning to switch to DHD..Should I or should i not.. ??
Things that are making me not switch is what Am hearing from everyone..They all say that battery life is really gay..is it really that bad compared to SGS.. ? because SGS aint got good battery life it self..
Other thing thats kinda bothering me is the LCD screen...I am currently on super amoled, but in order to save battery life and not ache my eyes, My phones brightness is always low...So my question..is LCD that bad compared to super amoled.. ? or its just oki.. ??
Please give me some serious advice if possible..Things like sound quality of the speaker and sh!t dont really matter to me..I want good hardware, and less issues and bothering
This is all opinion so please nobody flame me for having a different opinion to you.
Well there's pros and cons really. You would be moving sideways, making some gains, and paying a price in other regards. Having said that I could have swapped my DHD for a Galaxy S plus a few $$$ thanks to a recent offer but I would rather have the DHD.
Htc seem to be better with software updates than the ever tardy Samsung, but they don't seem to like us to have root so you gotta be careful about weather or not you accept those updates or wait for the xda devs.
While the battery life is worse, from what I've been able to learn about the SGS it isn't that much worse.
The screen is no better or worse than AMOLED, just different. Depending on what you are looking at it may look better on one screen or the other. My eyes seem to think text is a little sharper and easier to read on the DHD, while pictures look a little more vibrant on the SGS.
Our camera is better and we have a flash.
The DHD feels much more solid in the hand thanks to the aluminium body. The SGS feels kinda like its going to blow away in the wind after having the DHD for a while.
There. Thats my take on it. Hope it helped.

Exactly how I feel. I owned a Galaxy S for 5 months and switched to DHD. It is a breath of fresh air. Browsing is smooth and the 4.3" screen is really great but still behind iPhone on smoothness under pinching action. I reserve my comment until now so that I have about 1 month of DHD experience. This is to make sure I can be sure I can compare with similar usage habbit.
The lagfix gave me a false sense of speed but too often the TouchWiz would still lag.
In addition, I have also experienced better battery usage than my Galaxy S but that may not be a good comparison as I am running with a rooted Galaxy S.
Overall, I must concede that I miss the vivid color and blackness of SAMOLED display. Again, you get use to it fairly quickly.
Good luck.
Ive got both phone,s. The battery for me is better on the SGS than the DHD. Compare both of them is really hard. As both got there pro and cons. Ive always been a HTC owner and i have got a love hate relationship with the UI for me thats the big issue as i love the ui but on the other had i dont. Just wish that take away the main screen graphic like the menu bar and replace it with like the gingerbread luncher but keep the htc widgets. So think overall for smothnes and all arounder still the DHD
HTC HERO - HTC HD2 - NOW HTC DESIRE HD & SAMSUNG GALAXY S Bring on the modding.
i had both phone for a while and today i sold the galaxy, the battery life is better in the DHD,because i always had the SGS with custom firmwares which included other kernels like voodo or supercurios...the RFS file sistem is really a crap, the firmwares of SGS weren't decent until JPU 2.2.1 froyo, instead the DHD just like comes out of the box its quick and smooth, the SCLD for me its only a micro-step behind the Superamoled, and thats because of the black color, you'll never see a black like that ,because the pixel its complety off,in the SLCD you watch it like a watermark of real black, but out of this its really bright and it didn't have nothing in common with normal desire/nexus SLCD...
and a thing that no ones mention in the post ,its the impressive **** that is the SGS GPS,with an accurancy comparable with a nuclear weapon killing cockroach...i was even thinking on taking legal actions to samsung because of the petrol wasted each time i take the car..
Can anyone tell me more about the GPS in DHD.. ?? SGS Gps is almost gay.. I never use it..i prefer using my N97 gps over the SGS one
How about the Roms guys.. ?? Do i have go thru the process of trying custom roms and see which one is best ? or HTC has done a good job, which means i wouldnt be bothered to try out custom ROMS
Well, if the SLCD ain that bad, and if am getting LED flash lights, so i guess the only thing I'll be losing if i switch is internal memory..1.5gb in DHD (( have to buy memory cards :////
About the battery life of DHD - I'm actually quite statisfied now.
At first, when I hadn't tweaked anything yet, it was terrible.
It would die within 6 hours with my usage rate. But now I'm on OTA 1.72 (instead of the old 1.32) WITH root preserved, and I think 1.72 is a huge improvement concerning the batterylife.
With 1.72 combined, I got running: SetCPU, Autokiller, Advanced Task Killer, JuiceDefender+UltimateJuice and my batterylife is only down to 56% right now (thats 14 hours and counting! Unplugged it at 8.30, its 22.30 here now).
Using these apps correctly really makes a huge difference!
And as far as I know (I'm not that much into ROMS atm) HTC did a good job. Sense is beautiful, I love it. Only reason to take another rom would be boosting/braking the performance
I am very happy with the interface and the speed of the stock rom of my DHD, so I dont intend to try another one. The gps also works fine. I have bought SGS for my girlfriend, but the interface is very crappy compared to the DHD, also feels like a toy in my hand, didn't try her gps. The colors are a little better on the SGS.
Sent from my Desire HD using XDA App
The gps is fine. Works as expected, the included locations software is also very good although there is am additional fee to pay for voice guided navigation.
You don't really need custom roms, unless you want to ditch sense and get an aosp experience. Myself I use the rcmixhd rom because I want a stable rom which is close to a stock rom with only the addition of the ability to theme my phone.
I've had (minor) problems with some of the other sense based roms, although the new leedroid 1.3a is also very good.
But yeah the short answer is that dhd is a very nice software experience even without any kind of hacks.

Thanks everyone for the replies..
I kinda of got my answer..but I would still appreciate further comparison
Sorry if my opinion has been posted by other people before me, but this is my opinion.
My mum has an SGS, and wow, it is a brilliant phone. I have recently got the DHD and have been using it for a couple of days now.

From a hardware perspective, the DHD has roughly 250mAh less battery capacity than the SGS. However, on my FIRST charge yesterday, it lasted me from 7am - 4.30pm battery. I was being careful, e.g turning off wifi and things when I don't need it, but you have to do that with all smartphones. I used the music player at a loud volume for most of that time, and used the flash, lots of games, mobile data etc. Screen was on lowest setting according to my Power Dock Widget from HTC, and that was easily bright enough! (By the way, the battery would of most likely lasted longer, but at about 3pm, I tried to drain the battery quickly so I could charge from a flat battery, before I started, the battery was half full.
Other thing thats kinda bothering me is the LCD screen...I am currently on super amoled, but in order to save battery life and not ache my eyes, My phones brightness is always low...So my question..is LCD that bad compared to super amoled.. ? or its just oki.. ??

The super amoled screen is amazing, however the DHD is still a great screen. Maybe not as good as the SGS, but it isn't bad, it is very good, maybe it just might seem worse compared to the amazing screen of the SGS.
However, it looks great on a low setting, and I wouldn't be worried about this, I was worried by it and I got a pleasant surprise!
Please give me some serious advice if possible..Things like sound quality of the speaker and sh!t dont really matter to me..I want good hardware, and less issues and bothering

The camera is good, perhaps a bit grainy but it does have flash unlike the SGS. There are also quite advanced options, and the graininess can be ruduced.
The camcorder compared to the SGS isnt that good, but it still records good 720p video, but you can find there is a bit of motion blur when moving the camera too much. Once again, it does have the flash though.
The HTC Sense interface is amazing, so intuitive, really makes the Android software something else! The gaming on it is great, and so far I have had no major problems or faults with it, and if you ever do, at least you know where you can go for help
ok you need to look at it this way, i have been using smartphones for ages, starting with Ericsson r380, moving to IPAQ then Imate PDA2K, HTC Cruse, HTC diamond, HTC HD. the only reason i didn't get HD2 is the battery life as I heard it is not good and windows 6.5 is kind a crappy OS, so I waited and I say DHD. It is android phone and I have no experience in android but here is what I like:
1- It has a good big screen so you can read easily. <emails, word, excel, internet and whatever you need like PDF and others>.
2- Good storage 1.5 G and Good RAM 768.
3- GPS on it is great.
4- HTCsence.com, controlling your phone over website <which it is not working for me ): ….>
5- Phone performance, I like its speed and response.
6- The look and feel of the phone. <it is big, expensive and look nice>.
7- Nice aluminum body. Still hate having to doors on the back. <still not a big deal to me>.
8- Great CAM. No front one ):
9- Good application installed. Specially the HTS sense
As I said the big screen was the most I like in the phone. Hope those give you a help.
P.S. …. If you sold your SGS and got DHD plz don’t blame me if you didn’t like

I plan to return my nitro tomorrow before my 14 days is up. It's rooted with superoneclick. Should I bother trying to unroot? Would hate to brick it without a recovery rom available.
It won't brick you phone, I've done it several times already.
In my personal experience the clerks don't bother check the condition of the software on the phone, they turn it on (or not) and that's it.
And besides, if it's bricked, well, there is always a wall charger to blame
P.S.
What are you getting instead?
My mind isn't completely made up yet. I want to love the nitro but the occasional lag, poor scrolling, and battery life is what's ruining it for me. RAM manager has made a difference in app switching. I've been watching you guys closely hoping for proof of an unlocked bootloader as I'm sure another rom or hardware accelerated browsing in ics will make all the difference.
If i ditch it, ill probably just go back to my iPhone 4 for a couple months and see if the at&t version of the nexus gets LTE. I love this display, but don't know if I want to commit to the phone for 2 years. Will let you know what I decide.
Thank [email protected] Unroot worked without any problems. I decided to return it and wait and see what you all can find in the next few weeks. I played with the skyrocket and nitro side by side in the store.. what a difference. The skyrocket is buttery smooth. I would jump on it in a heart beat if there weren't those huge pixels staring me in the face . The HTC Vivid actually felt like a decent compromise if compromises had to be made. Nice qHD display and pretty smooth. I still believe the Nitro has the potential to be the top dog, but not in it's current state.
Keep up the good work. I'd love to see new software on the fantastic hardware.
The display on this is fantastic. I can feel your pain as it's not as smooth as the Skyrocket. I'm not a huge fan of the super amoled - especially compared to this. I have switched to the Zeam launcher and it has made a pretty nice difference. I'm hoping there will be an interim release by LG/AT&T to speed things up and fix some of the other minor bugs.
And most importantly hoping the dev successes continue and we can get some nice custom ROMs going (especially ICS).
I said this in the unbrick thread as well, but really I must emphasize my phone is much smoother with the Korean rom I flashed. I think I feel confident proclaiming that when ICS or hopefully CyanogenMod come to the Nitro HD, this device will be astounding. It's kind of crappy that our current stock rom is so sluggish, but there is good stuff just around the corner I think.
Don't you get 30 days to return?

Yes, you have 30 days. Every Nitro owner who bought from Att should be able to return it since it came out this month.
[email protected],
I'd actually say there is at least as much, if not more bloatware. I really can't explain why, but navigating through menus and scrolling through apps just feels smoother. Now, I had never done a factory reset and reformatted my SD card until my fiasco, so it's possible that helped and that the Nitro rom might feel smoother when I get back to it.
Well, many people reported their phone feels smother after factory reset even if they didn't install anything prior that.

Are you kidding me, this phone is Soooo Much smoother after doing a hard reset, even with bloatware still on it. Even now the Atrix feel so much more sluggish compared to this phone. I dont understand wat people are complaining about this phone. Yes, there's many kinks on this phone that LG never took care of, but that's why we have XDA and the great minds in it, that is to improve the phones we have.
You know wat, Go ahead, go and change your phones to the GS II. And when the Nitro HD gets a significant improvement in the sense of ROMs or any other upgrades, all of you who left this phone behind can weep and regret your decisions
Compare an iPhone or skyrocket. There's a huge difference in smoothness vs the nitro.. especially with the web browser (even opera). Even rooted with ram manager and hard reset, it just doesn't compare. Saying there isn't a difference is like my friend's saying they don't see the big pixels in the s ii. Say what you want about iphones, but i think they have spoiled me in terms of user interaction.
All that said, I agree the phone has tremendous potential and will most likely outshine the s ii when all is said and done.. My guess is that some of the lag involves software rendering of the 1280x720. Scroll around and watch the nitro's CPU spike. Custom roms or ICS much resolve some of this which is why I'm going to wait it out a few more weeks or months too see what unfolds before committing to the device long term.
Hello OG's!!! I have been lurking here for about week trying to decide between the S4, OG, and One. I went with the OG because the handset was just too gorgeous, even if it was released 10 months ago, the specs are still on par with anything being released right now. So I took the free upgrade to the OG instead of forking out for the others. My question (as an avid flasher) is what were you looking to correct when you flashed the phone. I always ended up flashing because I hated the skins or I wanted to go from GB to ICS to JB. So for those here who have jumped into rooting this phone, what was it that you felt the need to improve? Battery life? Just straight up AOSP? Wonky camera software? I've been playing for a couple of hours and so far I am happy with the camera (a little patience is required to get a really good shot) and I'm flipping around through the OS and the skin seems to be pretty light compared to HTC and Samsung. I think if I just load Holo Launcher and disable some apps I might be happy on stock. Until 4.3 or KLP get released.

As far as the camera, download the Google Play Edition Camera apk. Way better. As far as launchers, go with either nova launcher or Apex launcher with a JB Skin. I use it over holo launcher because I can hide apps in the app drawer and make the search bar persistent. I also use Holo Locker as my lock screen.

This device is one of the best you can get, and at the same time, can be one of the biggest pains you can buy as well. But, with some patience, balls, and a little insight, you can be running anything you want. If your interests are more towards stock, Lifeless and Vectus are both very good ROMs with plenty of features. If you prefer custom ROMs with lots of extras and choices, I personally would recommend one of the ROMs I work on, Beanstalk and JellyBeer. There are also AOKP, CM10, CM10 w/ Linaro, Rootbox, and others that will give you pretty much any kind of experience you want. Just make sure you read the rooting and unlocking thread very carefully and follow the instructions to the letter to avoid any hiccups. Also worth mentioning is the fact that all ROMs do have quirks and imperfections to them(I believe Lifeless is as close to complete stability as you can get, but it also is as close to stock as any of the others). All of these works are constantly being updated with fixes and new features, but our device can be finicky, so if you require total stability, you may just want to stay with stock. If you need any help, you can PM me, and if you want to learn to build on your own, take a look at Project Rookie II. Be cool
Welcome. I myself had to make a decision between this and the other 2 phones. I'm glad in a way I went with this 1. Its definitely on par with the other "big names" and its just as good spec wise. Only problem i have is the camera when its zoomed. I'm going to try the google play edition like danny stated. As far as rom goes, I believe Lifeless has pretty much the most stable rom going. Its pretty much stock but without bloat. Battery has been good to me, only app that I had problems with was Pro Player, so I got GMMP and its been better on the battery. Great phone overall but kit didn't get the recognition it deserved.
I dont really know LG's track record on phones, but I hope they dont EOL it before KLP. I have a feeling they will because OG2 and OG Pro are out, but then again like I said I dont know how LG works.
I am still completely stock, just added a new launcher, locker, and the Play Camera. I have a completely working photosphere (awesome, something I really missed from my Gal Nex). I have noticed that when taking macro shots, the Play Camera focuses better. But I was able to get some decent macro shots on the stock camera by getting the focus set from farther back and zooming in. I am still tinkering with white balance and ISO settings. But the flash seems to be bright as the sun and I can't do much with it, my pics keep getting washed out with the flash. But the performance, holy crap this thing is fun to use. Everything just pops.
As the title states.
Personally I love this phone, it's kind of like a really cool car, like an alpha romeo which has it's faults but just for the simple fact of the way it's made and the way it feels, I wouldn't change it.
EDIT: Maybe the battery life
Feel free to have a moan
I love the case I have and the way it perfectly matches the phone. It's a body glove and the phone is the darker one.
Video won't resume when going from the recent apps. It opens then disappears.
I love the speakers on front. When HTC did that year's ago I was amazed. Then I thought everyone should. I think it's crazy stupid not to. Sounds good too.
Screen is OK. I'd like bigger though and way better viewing angle. Gets dark when it's laying flat on my bed and I'm reading the web. I don't want to always hold it.
Keyboard is terrible in my opinion. Samsung works way better for me. I want keys a bit bigger and darker with numbers on top and much better auto correction. Swiftkey didn't work well enough for me.
Performance seems iffy. I mean I don't know if this is how things should be. I had the Verizon GS5 for 6 months like the 5th of this month so I'm used to that phone. Games sometimes jerk and seem to load no faster then on my GS5. They seem to crash much more. Games like the clash games, star Wars commander etc. Those types are all I play.
I want to disable apps I won't use so they're not always running. But this can cause issues maybe.
Battery needs a ton of help. Wish all phones had the power and 5000 mah battery would give.
I prefer Sense a little to tw and others based on color and lines separating options more in setting menus etc. Seems a bit more clean.
Have couple more days to return my phone and I'm not sure if I want to keep this and exchange for another or get a g3 or gs6. G4 not out for awhile still.
@buggs1a I hear you with the battery it isn't great but then I haven't tried to optimise it very much, once I cut out all the dead wood and find the wake locks it should be a lot better. 2 days is a possibility depending on usage. Haven't noticed the playback from video as I use MX player. Give it a whirl and use auto starts to kill off apps

I love the case I have and the way it perfectly matches the phone. It's a body glove and the phone is the darker one.
Video won't resume when going from the recent apps. It opens then disappears.

I would return it if I were you. Because much of what you mention, are not real issues, but are areas that just don't meet your desires. The screen is not going to grow, the battery is not going to grow, and the keyboard is what it is. I'm surprised you couldn't find a skin for Swiftkey that satisfied your needs. Also, it sounds like you may have an issue with your phone, as mine is buttery smooth, no crashes.

Although the battery will get better with updates
I'm averaging close to 5.5 hours of SOT on a full charge, but I'm with AT&T and am typically always in an area with a reputable signal. Apart from actual usage, and assuming there are no wakelocks going on, a phones signal is the biggest battery drainer. No signal or a weak signal will keep the phone signal searching and cause more drain on the battery. For this reason, I agree, battery life can be improved thru updates, especially if the radio firmware sees an update.

I've been using the Minuum keyboard and have grown to really like it. At times it will frustrate me with it's auto-correction, but what keyboard doesn't? They have a free version to try, so maybe give it a spin.
I'm in agreement that the battery goes quick when power saver is not active. I have a feeling that it will improve with newer versions of Lollipop, Sense and perhaps even changed HTC bits that optimize the phone's performance on the 810 chipset.
Let us know which way you go...
I really like the phone! I had the S6 Edge just prior to this and went to Verizon to turn it in as I suddenly caught the auto rotate bug. The rep said this hasnt been fixed and that if it happens again I would have to go through Sammy to get a new one. Not wanting to do that I looked at the M9 and have been really happy since. It is comparable in almost every way to the S6. I do miss the edge on the edge LOL but that is sort of gimmicky.
I bought the M9 when it first came out and was very dissapointed... the first one was returned for overheating which didnt start well, I was annoyed at myself for impulse buying,. but after picking it up again a few days ago Im actually stating to enjoy it...
The camera has been improved alot (but not amazing) through the 1st firmware update and an updated camera app from the Play Store (Raw Format added) which makes me feel better about it.. although Cam still needs work. Boomsound Music Mode is great, as good as the M8.. and not the reported tinney-ness some reviews are reporting. It just has all the things I loved about the M8. For me though that "Sense Home" widget and start screen.. I dont know how this is a good idea, I find it drains the battery like nothing else, using location and tracking...
So far, battery life seems ok, I get about 2 days on Light to Modersate use - Music, Camera, BlinkFeed, I do actually like BF.. but so far.. Im happy with my M9, really like the added "Themes" engine... a nice touch.
It wouldve been nice to see HTC bump up the screen to 5.2 or even 5.5" @ 1080p (I think QHD screens on a device less than 7" is a bit unnecessary) . Just something to seperate it from the M8 other than a camera and Themes
I just hope HTC can get through this and pull out the stops for the M10.. now that Samsung are leaping their way back from the S5 fall with the S6 and LG with the amazing G4, It aint looking good for HTC. For me, they just didnt try hard enough, they just gave into internet pressure, relaced the camera and hoped for the best.. which wasnt a wise thing to do 3 years in a row from the M7.
M9 for me is looking great, just needs some fine tuning, which will hopefully come in 5.1
I exchanged my m9 for the g3 Friday yesterday. And I don't get it how videos show it has themes, but it don't.
No complaints at all coming from Xperia Z3 to M9. Happy I made the switch.
In fact it is the same feeling
It is too powerful to be contained, which is a really good thing
From the way Htc treats its flagships via software updates, i can see that this powerful machine will be even more optimised and speedy, and will get improvement in every area!
If you are not aware, the Taiwan M9 recieved an update to its base from 1.32 to 1.40 with some massive camera improvements! And it is said that people are getting past the 6 hours screen on time with the latest update, as well as reporting that the phone is a Lot cooler than the 1.32 base
So that is very great news indeed, which makes me feel very optimistic!
You see? Improved battery life, improved thermal management, improved camera performance! This is awesome
And still android 5.1.1 will boost the mobile's general perfromance with a lot of misc bug fixes and enhancements by google. The future is bright for this phone, i see

Im still on 1.32 mate, I'm running Leedroid and I'd rather he got all the issues sorted prior to a release, I've heard good and bad about 1.40, some lag with proximity and opening screen. Camera is improved by all accounts. Will see what happens.
Cheers.

I guess that's why the 1.40 isn't rolled out to the .401 region

Not entirely sure as to why it hasn't been rolled out, I can see Lee, leapfrogging this version and going for the next one, the issues at this point appear to outweigh the benefits, besides the camera ofc

That is pure speculation on your part, unless you have some concrete evidence you can link us to.

Just things I've heard around the threads to be honest. Not speculating at all..
Beyond the apparently improved camera which in all fairness isn't that much of an improvement, the white balance isn't fixed and its still far too sharp, I've heard about random reboots etc, some of this is in Lees thread too
Do a bit of reading and you'll see for yourself, I don't just make things up and I'm not about to continue a heated debate especially when someone is presumptuous towards me.

I do plenty of reading and what I have seen is improved camera, improved battery life, and a slight improvement performance wise. I'm not looking for a heated debate. I just haven't seen much posted in the way of negatives, yet you say the negatives outweigh the positives, which is why I ask for some links. Now, I'm talking stock. If a developer takes the base and his custom rom causes reboots, that's on him.

Do you have a point to make about your phone? Is there something you'd like to share about the m9? Did you read the title of the thread?
You've jumped on other people and have challenged each of them towards their point. But you yourself have said nothing and contributed nothing towards the thread, that's actually trolling, this Is not a thread for that, this is for people to have their say.. How can they do that or want to with you waiting there for everyone? Move on or contribute

I think this phone is beast mode, granted I'm coming from the EVOLTE, but I picked HTC for sound and it's GPU power which is better than its competition. Only thing that upsets me is consumer reviews and the fact that this device got bashed because of the m9+ released in the foreign market and users thinking it was so much better because of a slightly bigger screen and finger print scanner. I just hope this "hero" device they are talking about releasing doesn't deter development on the m9. Just my opinion
