Warning Cookoo Watch DO NOT BUY - Galaxy S III Accessories

hey just thought i would let you guys know not to purchase this watch, i bought it and the experience has been horrible!
there web site had showed it would support our phone and a few other androids, guess what happens at launch it now supports Ios ONLY(shifty and shady)
the device is a cool idea and hopefully can be pulled off by another company someday.....but this company is a joke of all jokes first of all they dont have a phone number, email correspondence takes days(i am pretty sure email is instant and its 2012), when i got the item its addressed to someone else in Florida(i am in Minnesota)
needless to say this is a warning for everyone considering this item down the road i honestly think i am out of $150 on this deal because non stop emails to cookoo support and the inventor have got me no where. I purchase just about everything online, have it shipped, and end up with a smile.....this on the other hand has been the worst online purchase i have ever made hoping i can get the word out!

This isn't entirely true.
I supported this watch as a kickstarter project and they did state that they would be supporting Android. While currently they have only released the iOS app, as an early backer I have received plenty of communication as to their progress on the Android app. I have found their service to be efficient and their communication to be prompt.
They currently have a version of the app that works for HTC phones, and are working on making this work for Samsung phones, SPECIFICALLY the Galaxy SIII. Just like everything else, the uniformity of iOS makes development quite easy for it, and like just about everything else, apps are released for iOS before Android. I realize this is a generality, but it's often the case.
They have enlisted the help of recognized developers from this very community and they will have an app for your phone soon.

There is a beta on the Play Store compatible only with Samsung devices. Would love to see if someone could get it and make it available to everyone. This cookoo team has really done nothing to little to satisfy their promises to develop for Android. Choosing just the S III/S IV is pretty obtuse in my opinion.

My experience has not been anything like that. It was also clear that as a BT 4.0 low energy device it would not be supported until Android or the manufacturers fork of Android supported BT 4.0. That didn't happen until Android 4.3 came out, or earlier on a few select phones. There are all kinds of BT gadgets that have not worked until very recently, if at all.
At the moment as has been pointed out only the Samsung S4 is supported, I've been in contact with the Kickstarter team and had a couple of responses so far. Yes they take a few days to respond - as you can imagine there probably get hundreds if not thousands of emails. So far it sounds like they have a general Android 4.3 app ready but are waiting on something from Google to get it released . I'm not sure what that could be - but I'm starting to wondering if they actually mean that they are waiting for Android 4.4 which might have some BT API bug fixes or something like that. Since Android 4.4 will be rolling out for Nexus devices very soon - within a month? - I have already ordered my device. They have assured me it will work with Android as soon as the app comes out.
With Kickstarter you are investing in the concept - you have to be patient. Some are just looking for money to fund a volume order, some need much more than the money - time too! I have another Kickstarter project that is now delayed from July release to Feb 2014. It sucks because I really wanted the device right now and may have to buy something temporary, but like I said, this is an investment not just a "pre-order" whether you like it or not.
I hope you can be patient and eventually very happy with the watch!

anyone have an APK I can try on the Xperia Z?

i'm deeply regret bought this watch
same problem as you happen on 2012

no reply from them

[Q] Samsung Galaxy Nexus Release date on Verizon?

I've searched back a few pages but couldn't find, what date is this suppose to be released here in the US on Verizon?
Hasn't been announced yet. I've seen on various blogs that it should be week of 21st.
The rumor I'm holding to right now is the 21st. The Google contest seems to corroborate this.
Android Forums has a thread about the release date for Verizon and Droid Life has a leaked product release schedule (sorry, can't post links)

well the 21st would make a lot of sense.
They released the razor on the 11th (probably moved it back to Friday instead of monday because they thought it was cute to do the 11/11/11 thing)
then today on the 14th the rezound comes out, so a full week for that to sell and then the Nexus releases in time for holiday shopping. Hope it's true, I'm pumped for this phone.
latest rumor/update speculates 12/1...
We don't know. Most assume early next week.

I am going to say false on the delay (opinion only). If there were big enough problems with the phone, then google would not have just released the source code. If it turns out to be true it is a marketing ploy to sell more razers and rezounds. I hope it is still releasing soon.

Just remember that on top of everything Samsung/Google are putting into the HSPA+ version, Verizon has to add their own network stack for CDMA/LTE and is notoriously long in the tooth on testing devices and software. I would not be surprised at all if there is a slight delay with the LTE version.

According to another rumor it's going to be released on the 18th.
http://phandroid.com/2011/11/14/mor...s-will-be-released-this-friday-november-18th/
The Verizon store manager I talked to seems to confirm the rumor that it's pushed back to December. Not surprising since Verizon does take a long time to test devices on their network before releasing them, and might just explain why they still won't give us a date - the testing isn't done, so even they don't know.

I think everyone KNOWS Samsung/Google screwed up.
Not sure whats hard to comprehend about that. A huge opportunity was lost to make Galaxy Nexus a household name and steal a huge spotlight from iOS/iPhone4s. The fact there is no schedule and no dates is WHY they screwed up.
You do NOT run product launches like this. Especially after making a friggin event out of it.
They said it would be available in November... So far, that is accurate. While I too am a little annoyed, I think that's just due to my own impatience.

Well i have to disagree with you on that. I dont think voogle is trying to make a household name. Maybe samsung is but theyre only the manufacturer here. Google has messed up though by keeping us in the dark. They were more transparent and punctual before but the only official thing that came out was uk on the 17th and they have done that. But damn them for not giving us more details about unlocked hspa+ versions. And as much as i hate they gave verizon exclusivity in thedark usa, theyre even being mum with that.
I invented cyberspace. You're trespassing.
To fdm1: I recollect it was a little more honked up than that. Originally was said to be released about the same time as the new iphone, then a Google media announcement was set for early Oct got delayed for this reason and that and mid Oct was a surprise announcement in Hong Kong with little information release. The presentation was buggy, no info re: VZN, no estimates on pricing, no estimates on release dates, etc. And today a 16gb version is released in the UK but still no official word of a release date, pricing, or device specifics for the US.

I completely disagree with you.
Google has no interest in making the Nexus line a house-hold name. Every Nexus launch has seen minimal advertising and a lower-number of units sold than most other high-profile phones.
What Google does with the Nexus line is give people that want a vanilla Android experience the chance to have just that. They aren't trying to "steal a huge spotlight" from Apple...
And there's no set "way" to run product launches. It's their company, their product, and they can do whatever they want with it. You might not like it, but that doesn't mean they messed up...it just means they didn't do what you wanted them to do.

You're kidding, right? Of course there's a way to properly run product launches and Apple is the model for it. They started that whole format of how companies now launch their major tech products. In some large room, inviting major media and tech bloggers, on a stage, with "cool" slides and demo's of what their product is capable of. Followed by snappy and eye catching ad's/marketing campaign and even an "accidental/unauthorized release of said tech" if they really want to drum up publicity.
You don't do what Google/Samsung has done. Talk about this great and awesome phone with the cutting edge OS with a cool name for a month or so. Leak enough details over the summer to get your base interested, then change the name, say nothing about the price or release date, and then expect to make a big impact on the market.
Lastly, they haven't done what ANYBODY has wanted so far with this launch. So you can't single out one person and say it's what he didn't want. I'd bet just about anything that no one who was (or is still) interested in this phone wanted what we've gotten from Google/Samsung and Verizon so far. I didn't sign up on that stupid launch page for Google to tease me with pictures or tell me 24hrs before the phone drops that it's actually coming out.

Due for an upgrade, probably reluctantly switching to Android

I say reluctantly, because I want WP to be awesome. I want to stay with it, but I just can't do this 'basic' thing anymore. The colours are so dreadfully boring, there's no WP8 support for my device, Zune software sucks ass. I miss being able to just drag and drop into my music folder. Why complicate it needlessly with restrictive software? How many "new" colours will there be? 4? Android used to be laggy, but it's not anymore. Why is there no speed dial? (Yes there's an app for that, but I live in a border city, the only dialer app that displays my network is the native one, and I need to see it). There's no DLNA app (The LG one? Sorry, that's not a working app, that's just some user interface that pretends to be a DLNA app), and the battery. My freakin gosh the battery. I'd get better battery life out of a lemon and copper wire. 99% gives me 12 hours, that's if I close all apps and leave it alone for the day. I own three chargers (work, car, home), and mine is only a 3.5" screen! What if I had went with the HD7??
These alleged WP8 handsets that are coming out, will they be on par with even 2010 tech? Probably not. I'm so underwhelmed by just everything. My bro-in-law has the Note, and it's insane. Super AMOLED HD screen, xvid/h-264 support, HD out, etc. And it's already outdated almost. The Note 2 will be announced tomorrow, and then hopefully soon available here in Canada.
These are old talking points, I know. I've been reading/lurking this board since before WP came out. It's been hashed out time and again. And it doesn't even matter. What matters is what will please you/me the most. What do you care which platform I go with? I'm not bashing anything, just verbalizing my internal dialogue trying to decide. I was a pioneer with this platform, it pains me, I wanted it to be awesome, but it's just not fully functional. "But wait for the next update" worked a year ago, not this time. WP8 will be undercooked and a day late.
The desktop Windows 8 looks like a disaster of Titanic/watergate proportions. I don't want my device to in any way require that... thing of an OS. They missed the point. They may have started with simplicity in mind, but they're far from it now.
I'm due now for an upgrade, but it's not required, so I'm probably waiting until after Christmas to give time for all the iPhone5/Note2/WP8's of the world to be fully released and reviewed.
Anyone else feeling like this?
to my understanding, there's no/not too much heat on new android devices because almost every month(if not every week) there're some new android devices released to the market. You will always find better device if you hold just a little bit, just a little. but for the iPhone or the coming WP8, it'll be quite a long time before you will see a real update, the next release cycle, one year or something. So, before you see those, why jump now?

Yeah that's been the ongoing joke about the iPhone forever. And Android is definitely doing that lately.
There's certain features I really need to have in my next device. The Note has all of them. If the Note 2 dials some back, then I'll just go with the Note 1 and save some cash. If you can wait a couple months and get a little bit bigger screen, why not right?
Wait until Jan/Feb. Im expecting Microsoft to really step up with WP8 or Im gone also. I really dont like Android, but I might be out of options.

I have a A500 running 4.0.3 I think, it works fine, but I ran into a lot crashes and problems too. I think I'm very open on which OS to use, the cheapest I think I got my Windows Phone Arrive for free, absolutely free, not even activation fee, so that's why I'm with WP7. But in fact, if I jump on the new release iPhone 5, but sell it, profits.
Another Option
This is not a flame but a genuine question. Why not wait and see what RIM come up with? I got my HTC Titan because I like the look and style of win 7 and realy do not like Iphone or Andriod and yes i have had an Andriod and my girlfriend has my Iphone 4. I too feel there is just too much missing from win7 and am due an upgrade about November so if RIM can manage to sort out there act i might give it a try.Remember how things were for apple a few years ago when they were talking about just selling the company
its just an idea
Mark
^ waiting on RIM, it'll be sometime next year before an actual device is released.
Side note:
I just sold a GS3. Damn beastly phone, the best I ever had. I didn't even mind Touch wiz. I had it for one full day before selling it, that home button just ruined the experience for me though.

What vetvito said. Blackberry won't have BB10 out until like Q2 2013. As well as that, I'm just not interested in the last hurrah of a sinking company. It will probably be pretty limited. I'm just getting done with a 'new' platform, I'd like to be with something that's worked in.
Yes exactly my thoughts also on RIM. I dont want to switch to an OS that most likely will not be around anymore in few years. Before Nokia announced MS partnership I was expecting Meego to be the thing for me. I really hope hope WP8 is meeting my expectations and I wouldnt have to move to Android.
My suggestion would also be to simply wait what Microsoft's partners and Apple are bringing to the table next month. If you wait until december you should have all the options aside from RIM for whom I personally would not wait.
The Note is a nice phone in theory but the only one I know who owns one is telling me permanently about the newest strangeness it decides on doing (guess it's simply his device that's acting up - at least I hope so).
On the hardware front I'm not that concerned over WP8. The release handsets were announced to all feature Qualcomms Snapdragon S4 Plus chipsets which, even though being dual core instead of quad, offer better performance than the Tegra 3 and Samsungs own Quadcore-Chips due to the Krait-Architecture by Qualcomm. It's the same chip the LTE-Versions of the HTC One X and Galaxy S3 currently use. HD displays are also a go with WP8.
The biggest question will be WP8 features and it seems we will know whats coming there in one week.
I do see the point in waiting, but I just got myself a Focus S and its the dogs bollocks
I think what most users need to do is actually sit down and find out what they want from their phone.
apart from being able to install customs ROMs this phone does everything I want it to and it looks amazing so for me its ideal, waiting for a WP8 device may seem prudent just now but again, what do you actually want it to do, WP8 will bring new features but do you really NEED them or is it a case of "yeah that would be cool to have" if its the latter than you are buying it for the wrong reason.
theres too much focus on tech and not enough on actual usability. I can promise you that no android or Iphone will be better for my needs at the moment, not because I know every single device out there but because I know what I need my phone for, and the Focus S ticks all the boxes
So that's my advice, sit down, and write down what your phone MUST do, not what youd like it to do but MUST do, once you find a phone that does all of those things weigh up costs etc yes WP8 will be out soon, but do you NEED it, the answer may be no, but the flip side is that WP7 devices will drop in price so perhaps that's your best option.....anyhow, just food for thought
At the end of the day, it is just a phone. Doesn't matter what OS you buy into but this time around, don't buy a phone which "looks" good or "feels" good.
I would suggest trying out the phone and functions to your heart's content before parting with your money. Like everyone else, I am playing a waiting game before I invest my cash on any OS. This Christmas Santa will be pretty confused too!

MY WORDS! WP8 has some new features, but 80% of the world does not use NFC. look at Europe or Asia, have somebody seen some NFC around? the same thing, even worse is with east Europe. ok the better screen and the developer could make apps for WP8 in c++ but that not that big deal for the mayor of us. the problem is Other operating systems like Android made the WP7 users to WISH better specs. that's the problem, like an virus thats now in the heads of a few WP7 users. my WP7 does everything what i need to have from a phone right now, and for the next one, two years! like you stated people think of WP8 "yeah that and that feature would be cool to have" but i will never use it. i say lets wait until 7.8 and the new start screen, it looks and feels like the WP8. ok we dont get wallet and such thing, but wallet i dont need, i have a real wallet made out from leather the only thing whats not so good for wp7 is that voip agent can not run in background like the GSM service. so that would be an WP8 feature why i would switch, but not right now, maybe next year when the devices would be around 300-400€ in Germany.

I disagree on some of these points. Higher screen resolutions and native code are very important features. Native code enables easier porting of apps from iOS and Android (not to mention more similarity between WP8 and Windows RT) and should make these apps faster / more responsive. Having a choice of a retina display would also be nice
It would also be nice to have some bug fixes, which is more likely to happen on WP8. Tango seemed to break podcast management for some of us, in addition to a few other niggles (e.g. why can't I edit the original email after pressing reply / forward?, volume normalisation issues etc). The overall experience is good - however, there seem to be several rough edges in WP7.

Hmm good thoughts, but I disagree.
With things as luxurious as cell phones, the wants are what's most important. Cause if you go by "needs", then I'll be getting a simple feature phone, or a low end Android. Because I don't care who you are, no one needs resolution even as high as 800x480. What I "need" are email and text capabilities. I think the RAZR circa 2004 had that.
What I want is not what WP can provide right now. I know HD screens are approved, but welcome to 2011, as we head into 2013. They'll always be a step behind. Will WP8 have HDMI out? x264 support? Working DLNA? wifi hotspot? Doing away with software and just allowing drag and drop? Motion (press screen and move your hand around)?
I've been to the threads and looked at the features we've seen so far and it's just what should have been included in October 2010. The saying "wait for the next update", has been given as an excuse for every single update.

Seriously, it would be nice to be with a solid performer.
Meego looked cool, and Bada looked promising as well. C'est la vie I guess.
Android really has come a long way
Personally I didn't really like stock Android without sense till ics. It changed everything. Battery is meh compared to I phone, but with a custom kernel I can get ~12 hours with 1-2 hours screen on if I stick with lte. With jb its really smooth too I'd recommend a Nexus if you want os support. I have an HTC Rezound and htc is really poor with updates. If you are willing to root a toro/maguro will be supported for years. If not, you should at least get a year more of updates since the phone came out last November.

Ah but usability is the main point here, HDMI, x264, DLNA, NFC are all features that are completely meaningless for many of us, you are absolutely right that a feature phone from 2004 would have done all that I need, but my phone does it better, quicker and a lot more efficiently! but that is my point if you NEED HDMI then that becomes a tick box that must be met, if it is a "oh that's a cool feature" then it shouldn't be a main tick box otherwise you'll be a mug for marketing and end up spending more on stuff you don't NEED.
All those folk out there with quad core phones are a prime example, slapping a quad core in my phone will make absolutely no difference at all in the slightest and I question anyone that doesn't play games or encode video on there phone to tell me that it does make a difference, its a great marketing tool though, its QUAD core guys, its X4 better than a single core, you MUST have this, and people lap it up, hook line and sinker

Hey All!
Long time XDAer here I've been here since my G1 all those days ago. Well, I couldn't find this accessory...so I made one.
I'm starting a Kickstarter Campaign today at 2pm and I think my fellow XDAers should know...!

Thanks Take a look at the Kickstarter page if you get a chance, there's so much more to it. For instance, that blue part can slide out and be replaced with a high-quality sound system bar, and other options! We have 14 ideas for Frontbars already...

I think this is a really cool idea. The only real issue that I'm concerned about is how it's controlled. From the demo videos, it looks as though the phone's screen is turned off, is that correct? It seems that could be difficult for trying to highlight segments of text or click into specific fields of an online form.
If you connect a mouse via bluetooth, will you get a cursor on your screen? I am admittedly ignorant to how that works with phones as I have no access to a bluetooth mouse.
Cheers.

Hey Mrwhitepantz, you can connect a bluetooth mouse to your phone and get a cursor on Android. It works great! Also, check out this for details on the screen part, we're using Screen Standby for mouse support http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2261907
Awesome idea. I'll buy one.

Bump and a heads up to folks looking at this.
In addition to my support, fellow xda dev zacthespack of LinuxOnAndroid fame has expressed his support of the project as well. A result of this is that I will reexamine Android/Linux hybrid setups and give my findings to the Linux-On-Android team should it become a reality. So if you ever wanted an Asus Padfone or something similar but could not afford it, this may be the way to go. Now you may think that the projected asking price is a little too high but price out an 11.1 HDMI display, BT keyboard and massive battery and the Casedock starts to look pretty inexpensive. Compared to the Padfone it a steal.
I will also examine hw level mods to improve the dock as well and give those findings to the Livi-Design team. This is not about fame or money for me but getting tech convergence into the mainstream and breathing life back into a stagnating industry.
Here's the code to add the Casetop banner to your sig

For me this is the most interesting project I have seen on kickstarter. I am following it since 2 weeks and it is very sad to see that it hasn't reached the goal yet. I think the people don't realize the extent of it's usability. I really hope you will try to get this through even if you don't succeed on kickstarter. Unfortunately it will set the release back even farther.
Edit: And it should get a news here on XDA!

Hello Everyone,
We've updated our website and are trucking towards our finished product. Good news is that we're working with a technical college here in Alberta for help in the details. We have announced that we plan on shipping pre-orders starting in Q3 of this year in the order of payment. We are also working on several app contest ideas for the summer, and we'll announce other news closer to shipping and testing. I can't wait to ship you guys my dream device

Release Date?

Does anyone know when this watch is going to be released? I read somewhere that it might get released at the end of September, but on here it's showing November 2014.

It depends if you mean the US or Europe. Based on this video taken by CNET France, it looks like it's set for early to mid December, but the video said nothing about differing prices overseas, so based on the fact that most watches are being globally released at the same time, it's safe to assume that the date in the video is for both regions.
Also, the video lists the complete specifications which were on display. (Link to specific time here).
Apparently it has a 369 mAh battery. Not the top of the line, but not nearly the lowest, either. considering it has an AMOLED display, the battery life will be severely determined by how much of the screen is covered with completely black pixels. A proper watch face theme to compliment this will greatly increase battery life, as AMOLED means that all black pixels are actually not being powered. The results in the dark are also quite stunningly delicious to look at, by the way. (I own a Moto X that has a AMOLED display. The max hours I've had it running with a set of 400+ apps installed (including system) was 41 hours.
This, of course, took a bit of tweaking with some root apps... but considering the smartwatches don't have much running on them and the feature set on them are dependent on what apps are installed on your phone, rooting will most likely never be necessary for them.
I was speaking in terms of North American release date. Being that I'm in Canada, I'll probably get screwed on the launch date here, usually happens that way.
I heard for release date was to try before Christmas. As they have said try may end up being 2015. Hope it soon this is the one watch I'm looking forward to

I have a Pebble currently, and it's really nice, love the 5-7 day battery life on it. But I want something a little classier, and for a little more than the Pebble Steel I can get this watch.
I think it's really stupid that Samsung and Apple released watches that only work with their phones. Completely cuts off a lot of potential users. Glad Asus didn't do that.
Can be Pre-ordered now...

I wouldn't hold your breath – looks like only 300 are to be released and maybe only in Taiwan!
Cant post links yet, see the article on digitaltrends (maybe someone else can post the link)
only 300? where did you get that info?
I haven't made enough posts yet to post the link to the article, but if you go to digitaltrends site and search for Zenwatch it will be the first article you find.

I find this highly unlikely. Why would they do a large public unveiling, only to make 300 devices?
I went to best buy this morning and they had no clue. One of the guys looked it up for me and said it was in the system but showed no stock for any store and no pending ship date.

I spent 3 1/2 hours today driving and calling one Best Buy after another before someone actually was helpful enough to look into it more deeply and tell me that not only did they not have it, they never received any and in fact, no Best Buy store in Southern California had received or sold any.
Went to T-Mobile and bought the Samsung Gear S.
I went to 3 different best buys. nobody had it. i went and bought a casio g-shock instead.
Good job Asus
Getting worse by the minute. Now it's in best buy's system, but they've upped the price to 229.00

still not available anywhere, but you can spend more than they said to not have it now at least. I'll pass. There are plenty of good alternative options, and more in the pipeline.

General December update/feature drop

Been waiting patiently for a while now
Its getting to be a bit of a farce!
One of the main reasons I got my previous Pixels was that you received the updates first, like clockwork.
The P6P has some major issues, FPS!!, screen going blank, Reception etc. Yet we get it after all the other Pixels!?
And to top it off if you live in the "Google blind spot", ie not USA, you havent even got the FPS fix to make it usable!
So, we get to the delayed date and, SURPRISE! No update again.
Is something going on that we dont know about, feel like a Beta tester and I paid them nearly £1000 to do it!!!!
I don't have any issues with my pixel 6 pro but I'm hoping to get the update today and see if there are any improvements
Nothing yet, might be in around 2-3 hours from now

Please don't tell me to chill out.
If I want to comment on my frustrations about having a "premium" device which is sold with faults and has a promise of updates which are not upheld, then I shall.
If you wish to spend your money and follow what Google says like a "sheep" without voicing your dissatisfaction, then that too is your right.
To paraphrase a brilliant quote "All that is needed for poor service to continue to happen is for good customers to do nothing", I have raised my concerns with Google and would encourage others to raise your voice too.

Well said. People coming on here trying to tell others what they can or cannot say p's me off.
Returned mine cause the return window expired before today, the 13th. I don't think one update can magically fix the phone. I hope it does though. I think it'll take time though, months.
In the meantime I'm looking forward to the next gen phones that are only a couple months away. This next gen will be a true leap in next gen terms. Pixel left me cold
Probably not until 1pm EST. Relax.
It will probably come 1000 pacific time (Googles HQ time, it the morning) - that equals 1900 Berlin time (Europe).

You are right to voice criticism. Googles behaviour is unacceptable, since they let their new flagship users wait beyond the usual update time without any explanation given. We should have a clear window to expect - not "in a week" - that's a joke. Google is the biggest company in the world, anyone here seriously believe they don't have fixed, internal deadlines? They should simply make a counter: Here, that's when we will start pushing the update.
Should be out around 1pm est.

They did exactly that, they said it would be released today (13th). As today is not over (and they don't usually release updates until in the PST time zone ) and was never likely to be AM for the CET time zone.
There will be a lot more fixes in the release for the Pixel 6 than applied to the older models, they most likely wanted to test out the fixes that applied to them in the real world and also have some more time to test the Pixel 6 specific fixes. Better to get it right than rush out bad updates which make things worse in the eyes of those who have issues.
I can understand frustration if you are being seriously hampered by an issue (most people aren't, with minor irritations), but at least give it until the window they said has closed.

I'm very pleased for you. Pointing out that you are one of the lucky ones hardly helps those of us with issues, just kind of rubs peoples noses in it. Nope, I said I "feel" like a beta tester, big difference. With the G1 it was a first of a kind, early adopters of new tech/OS often end up with fixes after launch.
OTAs/Factory images usually drop around 10 am PST. You still have 2 hours to go!

I agree at least with the stance that we should all just patiently await the update. It's coming and should bring good things to our toys. There's people in this world who would love to have this phone so those feeling impatient, just crack on with your day and no dount in an hour or two we'll all be flashing away (cue to the next lot of complaints?!)

This is all that matters. Back in the days - before patches - products had to function at launch, since there was no way to fix anything. Once it was in the hands of your customer, there was no choice - either the product worked without issue and you got good press and recommendation, or your product was buggy and people stopped buying it.
Nowadays, companies just don't give a s*it - they release buggy products and there are customers that have the audacity to even support that kind of behavior. Instead of working together in order to get companies to fix their sh*t BEFORE launch, people divide themselves amongst "patience" or "you can't expect them to fix stuff in time" - aha. Well, we can. The nanosecond we buy a thousanddollar product. We are not talking about a 2 dollar china toy, we are talking about a state of the art, high-end flagship - that's simply supposed to work without issue. And if major issues arise, criticism is of paramount importance.
Many bugs we face today have been known since Android 12 has launched it's first beta - 18 May 2021 - that's roughly 7 months time for Google to fix stuff. They didn't.
And here we are not even talking about Pixel 6 specific bugs, simply Android ones.

I actually wonder how many problems there really are that are really bugs or just user error. When the Note 20 Ultra first came out there were quite a few people having issues with it here on XDA but what it boiled down to in the end was that they were transferring data from another phone and most weren't even a Samsung phone. Also if it were an Android 12 issue we would all have it not just a select few!
