Help!

Hi,
I need some help before I buy an XDA IIs.
I need to know the following things:
1. What is the keyboard like to type on?
2. What are the biggest and most annoying glitches?
3. Does it support a 2GB SD card?
Many Thanks,
Richard
the keyboard is naff, i used it the first day and not used it since. The letters are to small and you have to press quite hard on the letters
i have no major issues with the blue angle. please note that this is my first pda so i don’t have anything to compare it with
thnx for your reply.
I also want to know about when you receive an sms.
Does the screen come on? and is the screen 'pressable' so it clicks around the menus in your pocket? or is there some way to stop this :?:
Cheers
Rich
The BA is a nice toy if you have the cash.
On the down side is the hardware, the Keyboard is crap IMHO. It gets loose and falls down by itself.
The Sound quality is bad, Tinny, scratchy, you can up the radio do a lot of other things but it still crap.
Battery life is poor if you are on wifi for a long time.
The os has its own issues.
So the short of it all is that I love the bugger, it has past many an hour of frustration, I have turned it into a brik, dented it and now even the stylist wont stay in it place.
Would i go back to a phone just as it works? no way to many things to find out and learn about.
So is it the choice for you, that q I cant answer but if you do get a HTC device this is the site to be on.

Good drawing pad app?

I was wondering if there was a drawing pad app for the nexus seven that makes it like a bamboo tablet when connected to your PC? Thanks
Why?
Hi, I was interested in this too but then I wondered why? surely it would be easier to draw on your tablet using an app like Sketchbook Pro and then moving the picture to your computer if you really wanted it there?
The drawing pads and things you can by are designed to bring touch screen capability to a non touch screen device. Unless there is another reason you need to do this?
ease of access?

Because when using the regular drawing apps you have to see what you are drawing on a small 7 inch screen, and when on a desktop through an app like a drawing pad I assume it would have the capability of zooming in to see what I am drawing better.
I have been wondering the same thing. We all have these touchscreen devices, why has nobody come up with a way to use them in Apps on the PC or Mac like photoshop and stuff. If you are wondering how this could be useful here is a good example. I took photos for a friend of mine for his wedding. I took about 400 or so. I want to touch a good amount of them up and something like this would make it easier than transferring them all to my device first. The only problem is that I would love the spen feature that Samsung has so that I can see the pen on screen using the hover feature before I actually put it to the screen.

So you're planning on editing the photos on your tablet? Not a real editor?
You realize that Photochop CS2 is free these days, right? I would suggest you do that.
There was just a featured article on XDA about this the other day, about using your tablet as bamboo tab. Not sure why it wouldn't work... I'm not sure how accurate it would be but could be done in theory.
You are basically using your tab's touch screen as a track pad. Have you looked into all of those wireless Mouse programs on your phone?

I couldn't find another question or post containing this question before... and truth be told I haven't thought of using the mouse programs and such for this.

Anyone having issues with quick glance?

Phone sitting in front of me on my desk around 2 feet away. Something triggered quick view / glance. I did not place my hand over screen.
but for me not working all the time !!!!
i found tthis : http://forums.androidcentral.com/sa...galaxy-note-3-quick-glance-not-working-2.html
and now i'm sure that option is not working all the time !!! i think that may conflict with some app or some change on the phone ?!
It's not a perfect trick, when I was debating getting a note I never saw a single review video where it worked every time. I've had ceiling fans turn it on but then have it fail to respond to my hand, however then the next day studying at the same table in the library the ceiling fan won't effect it at all and my hand will work perfectly.

is it possible to make a disable touchscreen toggle...

If you are reading this I'm sure you are wondering why would you ever need this. Let me explain....
About 2 months ago, I got the brand new 32gb wife nexus 7 2013. It's such a great machine I couldn't have been happier. Fast forward to 4 (only 4) weeks later. I'm standing at a bus stop I notice something that looks like a hair sticking out of the top of my touchscreen. I pull it and not only does the hair come out but also a time chunk of touchscreen and then the whole screen just cracks from top middle to left middle.. To so I was angry would be an understatement. Now that same weekend I had plans to go away. So I put the nexus back in its box. Went away and tried not to think about it....
On Monday when I got home I took it out of the box so I could take pictures and hopefully get some help from Asus... I was dismayed to find a second crack had appeared starting right at the end of the first crack going down to bottom middle.. Now the touch screen had hardly any working touch at all... After a few weeks of no help at all from Assholes I sorry I mean Asus I just gave up.
Until I tried a bluetooth mouse and suddenly I could use my nexus again. Now it wasn't Perfect but it was use able. So I got the idea to turn my nexus into a tiny notebook. I got a bluetooth keyboard with touch pad and it works great for one little problem. Since the crack, the nexus is showing lots of phantom touches especially when using cool reader so it starts randomly changing pages and chapters... Same with playing movies and anything like Web browsing. ..
So I was wondering if any of you devs or idea people out there new of anyway to either just disable the touchscreen with a code or is it possible to make a toggle so I could turn it off when I'm using the mouse or keypad???? Thanks for any help..
I would imagine there's a way to remove the touchscreen driver, which would render it inoperable. Check the threads on changing that driver out. Heck, you could probably flash a blank drive file over it.
Thanks.
Thanks dude I'll give it a try. But I'm personally not so save as to know how to do that... But still thanks for the advice

[Q] keyboard issue..

Im brand new to HTC products im usually the galaxy guy and the ATT rep convinced me that the ONE M8 would be the way to go today since my S4 got stolen last night ... however i am generally pleased with the device i was wondering if anyone else has issues with the keyboard in portrait orientation. Long story short the HIGHLY used keys on the left side of my keyboard will not recognize my input using my left thumb... i have to literally take my right thumb across the device to input the E, R, T, and sometimes even S keys... is this something I am doing wrong or does anyone else have issues like this ( seems like its almost not sensitive enough to read the input or something i can hit it 100 times with my left thumb and nothing but hit it once with my right and it takes it )... When i turn to landscape to type it seems to do alright but my habits usually keep me in portrait so this is a real irritant if you can imagine. Any thoughts at all or anyone else have a fix for this? Considering returning to the store tomorrow to explain my grievance. Side note... I have tried different keyboards from the play store with the same issue... :crying:
Sounds like a defective left thumb.

Dinstall screen touch test from play, it will show every touch point on you phone. Seems like you have a defective digitizer.

Someone told me that the M8 has a very active screen all the way to the edges... i think ive figured out that its my fat hands that are rolling onto the screen somewhere while trying to type text messages causing the device not to recognize my input. The way i hold the device i guess is the issue because even during calibration it gave me issues with the left sided letters.... so i guess i have to either find a new way to hold the device or get some kind of case to accommodate my fat hands and tight grip on the device .... any tips or tricks on how to hold these things when texting to keep my hands off the screen? I tend to hold the device more in my palms than fingers for safety im a bit clumsy and i think thats the issue.
