I think it may come. Already got pop-up play and pop-up browser. Might just take a lil time.
It'll probably come with the 4.1.2 update we are supposed to get.

I seriously doubt it!
Rumor is that itll be released sometime Jan-feb. But its just rumor. Though I have to admit thst Sammy does seem like their trying lately. Holdups come from T-Mobile btw.
Best advice is be patient. Someone will port it.

i saw it, but problem is it's coming out for GT-I9300, but our mobile is complitely different from international model. so it will take long time to port, my friend has international version and he has multi windows month allready. would be glad to by thatone but can't leave 32GB internal storage.

So they just reveiled the S3 with a bunch of new features... so I am wondering in the future are we gonna be able to port some of these features to the S2?
Possible? Impossible?
You're better off getting the S3
Absolutely should be able to. The SIII seem like more of marginal upgrade than I expected, so our phone should be capable of doing the little gimmicks they showed off. iLeopard, why bother posting? You didn't answer the question he asked at all.

It was a sincere answer on my part. The answer is obvious...yes. The better question is who would bother porting them once everyone flocks to the S3?

Thats also a possibility, but seeing as how you can get a descent amount of money for the SII then perhaps jumping on the S3 bandwagon is a good idea.
i dont think the phone is such a huge step ahead of our phone in the hardware department. i agree that it seems like a marginal update, the software is what they demo'd the most, which should work fine on our phones.
also, the US Variants will probably not have the quad core exynos, so in that regard, it may be fairly easy to adopt the software on our devices.
I'm planning to buy the GS3, but the international one. I don't think it will be working with tmobile's 1700 band . I also won't settle for a us version like our GS2....

lmao yeah US version is gonna be dual core Krait coz exynos neither support LTE nor tmo 42mbps modem
pretty stupid of samsung and nvidia to release new SoCs without support of newer modems
Has anyone attempted this or is this even possible? I was just looking around the forums to see if it was possible or if any dumps were around.
I would be interested in this as well.

Why? Sprint and Samsung worked together flawlessly to get 4.1 to us so fast. The unbranded Galaxy s III is still getting the update in some parts of Europe, we are not behind at all. And of course there is the fact that we are the first US carrier to get the update. I'm impressed, and excited to see how Samsung and Sprint can continue with speedy updates to their flagship devices.

Hello everyone. I have a quick question. On AT&T Samsung galaxy S3 stock unrooted is it possible to get the premium suit 4.1.2 upgrade for my phone? I'm not even willing to worry about the upgrade I like my phone just the way it is I would just really like the Multiview available to visit to windows at once.but I don't know too much about the updates keep getting confused with all the different forms I read if someone could help me that would be awesome thank you.
p.s. My phone is not rooted nor do I wish to root my phone I would like to go to get the official 4.1.2 update from AT&T when it comes out but I'm sure it won't include the premium soup for the multiview I would really like to have the multiview functionality on my phone in lieu of the update if I could just get the multiview I would be happy where I'm at I'm confused because of all the forms I've been reading someone can help me to explain if it's possible to get multiview on stock phone please let me know thank you
The 4.1.2 premium suite is for the quad core international s3. We will likely not see a similar update on the US variant. Perhaps a 4.2 release sometime around the S4 launch but without multiview as the hardware does not support it. Cheers
cheers

Cause Samsung didn't make one. Actually, 4.1.2 is more than likely all we'll officially get. I think they're done upgrading S2's....aside from perhaps the international version I read somewhere.
Battery problems? No matter the rom or android version.... >>>> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2461864

Mainly because Samsung lost the suit against apple, so they've gone back to the drawing board in many ways. To continue investing in devices that led to them being sued would just not be financially intelligent.
I really hate tw. I'd agree with others. I don't think Samsung it's going to be updating our phones anymore.
There will be no more updates for the Galaxy S2, I saw this confirmed not long ago, but I forget where.

But with that logic, the s3 is OLDER than the s4, and yet it was updated AFTER the s4 was released....
the galaxy s2-plus (almost as old as the galaxy s2 itself) also has a 4.2.2 update as well. So, tell me more about this $$$ theory of yours :cyclops:

Guys....its simple. Had Samsung not made 100 different S2 variations for some dumb reason, they would have updated us I'm sure. But as there's so many different models out there and the device is 2 generations behind.....they drew the update line in the sand. That's it.
Except the newer one I guess, and I heard the international one....yet to be seen.
That's electronic life. Very short support life span. At least with phones. Maybe if the phone builders didn't put out a new model every 8 months things would be different. But they just love milking the techy's that gotta always have the latest and greatest.
Plus....I agree with the $$$$$ reason too.

the s2-plus came out after the s3(jan 2013), which was a really surprising move for samsung(but in my opinion it was just another way for them to rake in the cash). and pretty much all of the android phones will have ended up with at least 2 system updates from thier respective manufacturers. our phone actually got 3 system updates, it came with 2.3.6 went to 4.0.3 and then to 4.0.4 and now to 4.1.2, if our phone kept getting updates there would be no need to buy a new phone, so once again it all comes back down to they want to make more money. and in this world that is all that any successful company is going to do, try and get you to buy there next new product(even if it means that they have to stop updating a perfectly good device to do it). If they didn't, they wouldn't succeed as a business.
In short our phone is not going to get an official 4.2.2 update because samsung wants you to buy a new phone so that they continue to make more $$$.

buy a new phone.. ok, buy an S3 (which is NOT NEW) BOOM 4.2.2 update. and that works out good for who? Especially if you buy one 2nd hand, does samsung make 2nd hand money? nope. I get the whole it's all about money thing, but apparently nobody gets what I'm trying to say. IF those old, non new phones have it....why not this one. It's old, not new, similar specs. Oh well, If I knew how I'd make my own TW 4.2.2 build lol

I dunno what carrier, but I know I saw one with a 4.2.2 build, that was touchwiz. Very similar to the S4.
maybe it was unlocked/international? Google it.
My questions were somewhat answered, so pointless thread now.

Should we start a pool on when it'll actually come out? I'm betting something like 8 months from now.
The only problem with that article was this statement....

You know AT&T will be the last and Verizon will be first, hopefully AT&T will decide to release the update to the S3.
For god sake, please remove the 4.3 Knox bootloader in the KitKat update.
No more official updates for S3, Android 4.3 was the last update.

That's from Samsung Poland regarding the international i9300 version.
Pretty sure the international i9300 will get the 4.4.2 update elsewhere in Europe.
And unless Samsung USA backtracks on its commitment to bring Android 4.4.2 to the North American SGS3, I'm confident we'll see it.

The problem that I have is that the official announcement says "select carriers" leaving me to believe that there is a possibility it could never happen with AT&T. Of course since AT&T is so large I think it will go through to avoid a massive swarm of complaints. It really comes down to how quickly they will push the release.

Pretty sure Sprint releases the first update, followed by T-Mobile...then AT&T and finally Verizon. It's been that way for all devices. Ex.: the 4.3 update.
WOW, ANOTHER TOY TO PLAY WITH. OH MY GOD. WHEN DO WE GET IT? WHEN DO WE GET IT? HURRY UP AT&T. I CANNOT WAIT. OH MY GOD! WHEN DO WE GET IT? WHEN DO WE GET IT?
Look, if we ever get this update, can at least some of you hold off for a little bit and see what the update does to some of the other phones first (does it lock the bootloader, does it make battery life worse, what apps might have issues, is there a way to go back in case something goes wrong) and not make the same mistake that so many of us make with these phones by rushing to these toys, oops, updates impatiently the very first day that they come out. I call these updates toys because with the exception of the phones that have major issues, all these updates are around here is just something new to play with.
BUT WHAT IF I WANT TO, SHORTYDOGGG?
Forget it. I see that I won't get through to everybody because we are all different. Carry on everyone.
