CWM backup gets stuck at same jpeg each time - Xperia Arc Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I installed the Ultimate HD rom and now when I try to backup with Clock Work Mod it hangs at mustang_small.jpg. I've got 4643MB of space on my SD card. What could be the problem?

Try reflash and delete the files that keep hanging ur backup progress...if not working try pm jader13254 hit thanks if work ok

It kind of defeats the purpose of making a backup if I have to reflash the phone
I noticed the second time I tried doing it CWM reported I only had 585mb of space left which isn't true. Could the fact that I have a second partition for Link2SD to use screw things up?

@pustinjak Maybe the thread title should be something like "Stock Nandroid Backups" or the like. Since "nandroid help" does not make me think that people can find this backups in the thread. Anyways its nice that you started this thread.

I'm shooting in the dark but my guess is that cwm knows how to handle ext4 in theory you should be able to restore to ext4. I only have sd-card 2nd partition in ext4, not internal storage or anything else.

[Q] urgent quistion regarding wicked rom please help

].I'm sorry if any of these are dumb question but I'm kinda new to this but if you could please help me it would be greatly appreciated.. so I have wicked rom downloaded to my phone and I believe it is dl to the internal sd. So when I do the wiping that is required to do before flashing... the rom will still be on the internal sd after wipe correct? Also I have the t999 sgs3 but it is unlocked for att. It will still be unlocked right? And when I flash the rom I still put T-Mobile in the set up? Also one more thing how do I know if my phone is ics. Or jb cause I have the v8 jb downloaded I'm sry for all the question I just wanna be 100% before I do this
I'll try to answer a few of them which i can
*wiping won't delete rom files from internal sd
*it'll still be unlocked
*check android version in settings - about 4.0.4 = ics 4.1.x/4.2.x=jb
AFAIK

If you're worried about losing any if your important content, including your nandroid backups, I recommend either transferring your content to a flash drive or to your pc that way you'll always have it and know where to look for it in case anything were to go wrong on your phone. You can also upload your content to a cloud but that can take a bit more time. If this helped please hit thanks as it really does help my status here on XDA.

No. Nandroids are recovery dependant. You would need to revert back to TWRP in oder to restore that backup and vice versa if a backup was made in CWM. Install GooManager from the Play Store, hit menu, then select "Install Openscriptrecovery" to flash the latest TWRP.

You can either delete them from a file explorer from storage/extSdCard or just pop your SD card into a micro SD adapter if you have one and delete files from your computer

You can use CWM or TWRP. What he's saying is you cannot recover a TWRP backup through CWM or vice versa.
So if you plan to use CWM, make a backup with CWM so you can recover in case something goes wrong. Your TWRP backup will not work with CWM.
Wicked is a great rom, it's what I use everyday.

[Q] Apps disappears on reboot with LupusGB

Hi guys, I just want to ask incase anyone of you knows the solution to my problem because i tried searching here and there but to no avail.. Everytime I use LupusGB kernel some of my apps disappears on reboot but when Im using Doomkernelv14 everything seems fine.. It just puzzles me as to why they go missing after reboot.. Hope someone can help me.. And btw my ROM is Xperia NXT Gaming 1.2.. Thanks for your answers
Are you using links2sd or apps2sd? Or maybe lucky patcher?
Sometimes it just need time to load all apps who are on sd (esspecially if you have lot of them)

I don't know what is causing that, but you could try to move them to phone memory, then move them to sd again. Try with normal way (from settings-apps) or with link2sd.
Maybe android.secure folder is deleted. You have backup?

Reboot to recovery, mount sd card from there, plug in to pc, transfer all files from sd card to pc, format sd card (from phone), transfer back sd card files.

Its due to the rom, if it has zipalign on boot it will zipalign apps and if u have cracked ones they get messed up and android deletes them...

[Q] Please Help!!!

Alright so I did a Nandroid backup and it says no sd-ext found skipping or something like that. I heard it doesn't matter but it's really bothering me!!! Help!
when you was doing your nandroid back up it always says that because we dont partically use external sd to install apps so the nandroid just looks in your external for installed apps and if you dont which most of us dont have it skips the process totally normal bro

I recommend wiping the sd card after backing up important files. After you wipe format the sd card and you should be able to use from there. I'm pretty sure some files are just corrupted.

Which rom are you using?
If rooted then i would advice to clean dalvic cache and install the rom again.
Then install whatsapp and avoid restoring backup. Once you have whatsapp running u can restore backup. Also check for .nomedia files and delete if any
