Green pixels and screen flickering - HTC One X

I bought my One X in May and have a stock ROM. I never unlocked it or flashed another ROM, I've just applied the OTA updates.
Then, in november, the screen went mad.
At first, black pixels were displayed as green in games, then in Sense too (wallpaper). It's most apparent when taking pictures or screenshot. Once uploaded to a PC, the pictures are fine.
Then the screen flickered a little or madly during games or internet sessions, or just unlocking the Sense ring.
Sometimes, the flickering led to a multicolored screen : all pixels randomly mixed.
It occurred more and more frequently till I contacted HTC. I was asked to reinitialize the One X to see if this was a software or hardware problem.
This seemed to make things less worse at start (though there was some flickering just after reinitializing). But the old problems came back quickly.
I sent my phone to repair and I should have it back mid-december.
I remember the screen problems some people had after buying their One X. I thought that I was spared !
For the record, my One X is a HT23.
Here are some photos.
Green pixels but not everywhere !

Flickering is bottom/top in portait mode and right/left in landscape mode

After second reinitialization and after removing my SIM card (to give my One X to repair).

Definitely a hardware fault, hope you get it fixed

I got the phone back yesterday
They replaced :
- the LCD
- radio card (new IMEI) though I never was aware of problems before
- the battery
and updated some software, don't know what as it was still ICS.
Everything seems to work fine now and I upgraded to Jelly Bean yesterday.
So far, so good.

i also have a damn HT23..and i have 4 pixels that appear on black-blue background...but only for 1 milisecond..so I will try to sell the phone faster.

Have Screen Burn In? Warranty It, Get a New One

Searched, didn't see a similar topic.
If you had Android Wear 1.0 through about 1.2 on your phone, your Moto 360 had a much brighter charging watch face. That much brighter charging screen was actually causing burn-in on your OLED.
You can see if yours is affected by opening the Settings app. If you can see a ring of the charging halo in the background, your phone was damaged by this.
Fortunately, Motorola is honoring this as a warranty issue - you just have to claim it before your one year warranty is up. I now have a brand new first-gen Moto 360 - with an improved watch band clasp too.
Hi, where did you submit request for service?
I got mine warranty replaced (for this issue) by calling Motorola technical support. Despite being clearly outsourced, they seemed to be well aware of this issue - and processed it without too much futile troubleshooting.
moto 360 has an LCD Display , not an OLED!
I have burn-in too. It's most noticeable on white backgrounds as a yellowish ring. I only noticed it recently but I think my warranty might be up. Didn't think an LCD could have burn in, but there it is...
Could someone post a picture of the burn-in? I want to see how bad it actually is.
I took these with my watch at max brightness. Normally, it's more subtle. It's a yellow ring that's strongest at the 3 o'clock position, and decreases clockwise -- exactly where the charging ring would start.

In person, the white backgrounds actually look the worst. I have a nice white watch face that I simply won't use because of this.
I mostly use dark watch faces though so I don't notice it. It's invisible on black and most of the Moto stock faces (e.g. Dials).

how can LCD get burn-in? that's so weird

Sprint m9 - camera problems - software or hardware?

Hey, I'm an average cellphone user, I have some knowledge regarding software, firmware, etc. It doesnt really go further then flashing ROMs and fixing friends phones tho. That said, I really hope someone here can help me since I'm having tons of problems with my M9 cameras.
So here's my problem(s):
I bought an used SPRINT HTC ONE M9 after mine was stolen a couple weeks ago and when i got it it looked absolutely okay. Until I went for the camera.
The thing is: the M9 doenst even recognize the Frontal camera as an existing camera. It's like the phone only had the rear, main, camera. So i was pretty sure it was a hardware problem, but i found really weird the fact thar the official HTC camera didnt even had the option for the Selfie mode.
The main camera had issues too. At first it was having terrible focusing performances and i could see many purple-ish stripes in the screen when using the main camera.
After a week or so of usage, the main camera stoped working with ANY app, EXCEPT for whatsapp. When i'm using whatsapp i can send a picture using the main camera, even tho the quality is absolutely far away from the camera potential. And the purple stripes again.
I opened the phone and did a quick chek up on the hardware, wires, etc. Everything seemed to be in its rightful place.
So I'm really confused since the front camera not only doesnt work, but it looks like it never existed (even tho it is inside the phone) and the main camera started working, then it wasnt working anymore, but it stills work using whatsapp.
I've tried many diferent ROMs, firmwares, I actually almost bricked my phone trying to mess with this kind of sutff (problem solved now, anyways) but nothing seems to make the cameras work.
Information wise, the TOP LOUDSPEAKER is not working either, which made me think it might've suffered some kind of trauma during the delivery from italy to england. I'm not really sure about anything.
If someone can give me some advice, i would appreciate it a lot.
Im currently running the htc on stock 6.0 android, sprint version.

After images? (for lack of a better term to use)

Anyone else experiencing this red after image thingy on the sides of the screen? It is most noticable when looking at a dark image or completely black. See image below and notice the sides.

I mentioned after images because the icons on the status bar sometimes shows an "after image" when for example I toggle the wifi off thereby the wifi icon disappearing, an after image is left behind but not that noticeable.
Any thoughts as to what it is and possible remedy?
I've noticed this also on mine. If I'm right , I get this red tint on the right side of my screen, after I play that football game on Messenger. It seems to go away after a while. It's noticeable on grey colours.
thats called burn in and thats a hardware issue.
That's a screen burn if I'm not wrong. Even I had experienced the same and the device was under warranty so got the screen changed and it was all fine until now, 10 months after the change, that it's back again. I'm thinking of switching to Nexus 6P now.

I was thinking of having it replaced since it is still under warranty but after reading your post, should I still go for it?

Here what happens with my device : When I shoot up the brightness to the fullest, those "red after images" kind of dissappear. But then again when the auto brightness is switched on it returns back (pssst... LG G4's are haunted! ?). I don't know what exactly the problem is, whether with the digitizer or screen. I would still suggest to get the screen changed as it's still in the warranty or if you don't want to take the pain switch to some better phone.

HTC One M8 doesnt want to turn on/weird disk problem

Hey there.
I have a problem with my HTC One M8. First of all, I have slightly damaged the screen in the upper right corner and it has a black spot, like 3-4 weeks ago. Because of the fact I am on my vacations and I am 24/7 on move, I don't have time to fix it and it's not that much of a problem as the phone was 100% functional with that issue - the screen reacts to touch in that black spot. But let's get straight to the real issue. Yesterday, before going bed, my phone had 20% battery. I am used to fall asleep watching some vids/other stuff @ Youtube and so it was @ yesterday's night. When I woke up, my battery was dead so naturally I plugged the adapter to charge it. What struck me was the fact that the screen didn't react to charging. I tried switching to other adapters but no result. I tried to turn on the phone anyway - if the screen is messed up, the phone should turn on anyway and greet me with some sound - it did not. I borrowed my friends laptop and connected the phone to it in order to find out what's going on. The moment I plugged it in and it installed some usb drivers, the laptop didnt display 2 disks (the phone itself + the sd card) but plenty of disks (D-Z) which the laptop wanted to format immediately (havent done that - last resort move). I have installed the HTC Sync Manager but it doesnt find the phone. It may be due to the screen damage, however, I strongly doubt that and I think it's some software issue. Has anybody had such a problem? What should I do? What kinds of software shall I download to try to tackle this issue?

Thanks in advance for any answer.
My android version is 4.4.4.
Soft version 3.28.401.9
HTC SDK API 6.25
Compilation 3.2.8.401.9 CL389833
Not branded
Let the phone charge for several hours, then hold Power+Vol up for a minute or more , and see if there is any change.

OP3 Rectangular part of Digitizer Unresponsive

CAUSE I AM A NEW USER, COULDN'T POST THE IMAGE IN HERE, SO SEE MY REPLY AT https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=73388497&postcount=2
What i think could have caused this is the charging at home, cause devices connected to certain outlets in my house sometimes have a lot of static electricity in them (voltage fluctuation maybe?) e.g. sometimes the digitizer became unresponsive when connected to the charger + The metallic back filled with static to the point you can't hold the bare phone in the hand anymore, but some other times it was completely fine
PS. The phone has been dropped only once, and that was back in December
All the rest of the digitizer works absolutely fine, and I wouldn't really say it's completely unresponsive, it does respond to my touches but as can be seen in the pic, whenever i touch that rectangular part, it instead registers two touches above and below that region, instead of in that rectangular region.
This initially started happening like a month ago, shortly after i installed OB19, thought it was some software bug, updating to OB20 and then 21 didn't help, i did dirty flashed 4.1.6 and i think it worked for a short while on it(don't really recall correctly now cause i immediately went back to OB because systems app didn't worl cuase of dirty flash)
And after that, things that i have tried and didn't work:
Revert to 4.1.3(Clean Flash)
Revert to 4.1.0(Clean Flash)
Install LOS with firmware from OB19(Clean Flash)
Completely draining the phone twice
What i haven't tried:
Install some older LOS build with old firmware that I know didn't have this problem(e.g 4.1.0)
Currently on 4.1.6 after clean flashing; and the issue also occurs in TWRP too, so i guess it's RIP for the digitizer? Or is this fixable, couldn't find much info about it on XDA/reddit/random forums, not really a common issue i think, did find some threads though but those were from 2011-2013 mostly

The exact same thing happened to me last year. I ended up sending it in to get it repaired under their insurance :/ I tried everything to get it fixed and absolutely nothing worked
