What i think could have caused this is the charging at home, cause devices connected to certain outlets in my house sometimes have a lot of static electricity in them (voltage fluctuation maybe?) e.g. sometimes the digitizer became unresponsive when connected to the charger + The metallic back filled with static to the point you can't hold the bare phone in the hand anymore, but some other times it was completely fine
PS. The phone has been dropped only once, and that was back in December
All the rest of the digitizer works absolutely fine, and I wouldn't really say it's completely unresponsive, it does respond to my touches but as can be seen in the pic, whenever i touch that rectangular part, it instead registers two touches above and below that region, instead of in that rectangular region.
This initially started happening like a month ago, shortly after i installed OB19, thought it was some software bug, updating to OB20 and then 21 didn't help, i did dirty flashed 4.1.6 and i think it worked for a short while on it(don't really recall correctly now cause i immediately went back to OB because systems app didn't worl cuase of dirty flash)
And after that, things that i have tried and didn't work:
Revert to 4.1.3(Clean Flash)
Revert to 4.1.0(Clean Flash)
Install LOS with firmware from OB19(Clean Flash)
Completely draining the phone twice
What i haven't tried:
Install some older LOS build with old firmware that I know didn't have this problem(e.g 4.1.0)
Currently on 4.1.6 after clean flashing; and the issue also occurs in TWRP too, so i guess it's RIP for the digitizer? Or is this fixable, couldn't find much info about it on XDA/reddit/random forums, not really a common issue i think, did find some threads though but those were from 2011-2013 mostly

The exact same thing happened to me last year. I ended up sending it in to get it repaired under their insurance :/ I tried everything to get it fixed and absolutely nothing worked

Hi there brought this second hand Nexus from well known auction site. Fully aware of it being faulty, after finally switching on (power ribbon cable was loose) the screen switched on usual google popped up but once fully loaded it becomes fragmented. There are tears on the screen as I touch it.

I went into bootloader where the screen loaded up as normal
As you can see there is no glitches with the screen loading this up. I then proceeded to do a stock flash from 5.1.1 to 5.0.0 to see if its just a corrupted rom. No luck still the same.
Has anyone come accross this problem and know what is the fix? Before I tear this nexus apart for spares for my other nexus or even plug the screen to test on another ?
Any suggestions would be appreciated

When you flashed the factory image, did you flash all of it including kernel? I would try to get into TWRP and install a ROM to see if the problem persists. (You can boot into TWRP without installing it if you want to keep it stock recovery)

I'm still not sure how it happened, but I somehow managed to crack my camera. Not just the lense like everyone else due to heat issues, but the actual camera.
So I figured I'd replace it myself instead of paying someone 100$+ to do it, and then have them charge me double for the part.
I made a pretty bad screw up the first time and broke the cable going to the power/volume buttons when initially opening the casing, and didnt realize until after I had replaced the camera.
I just got the new SD card reader/button cable in yesterday, and finished replacing it about 5 minutes ago. But the phone still will not boot.
I double checked all of the flex cables/signal cables to be 100% sure everything is plugged in properly, and not broken.
All of the flex cable protectors are back in place etc., but it just won't boot. the charge indicator won't even turn on when I plug it in.
I followed the video shown https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4RRJAHbnYmQ to take it apart initially, then followed it backwards to be 100% sure I wouldn't miss anything when putting it back together.
The only thought I have, is that Im having issues getting the case to snap back together completely.
That's when I noticed the pieces shown in the pictures below.

This is my first time actually working on a phone, but from what I assume, they look like some kind of spring based switches that will sever very important connections if the phone isn't completely put back together, with the case holding these raised parts down to complete a circuit.
I'm not sure if that's my problem, or if I somehow managed to screw up something a lot more important.
Can anyone at all shed some light on this?
Edit: Another thought just occurred, would I be able to use my UH-OH protection for this, even though technically speaking I'm the one that caused it to become completely non functional by opening it and attempting repairs on my own? Should I drop the thing in a bucket of water for a while first to claim UH-OH?
Hey there.
I have a problem with my HTC One M8. First of all, I have slightly damaged the screen in the upper right corner and it has a black spot, like 3-4 weeks ago. Because of the fact I am on my vacations and I am 24/7 on move, I don't have time to fix it and it's not that much of a problem as the phone was 100% functional with that issue - the screen reacts to touch in that black spot. But let's get straight to the real issue. Yesterday, before going bed, my phone had 20% battery. I am used to fall asleep watching some vids/other stuff @ Youtube and so it was @ yesterday's night. When I woke up, my battery was dead so naturally I plugged the adapter to charge it. What struck me was the fact that the screen didn't react to charging. I tried switching to other adapters but no result. I tried to turn on the phone anyway - if the screen is messed up, the phone should turn on anyway and greet me with some sound - it did not. I borrowed my friends laptop and connected the phone to it in order to find out what's going on. The moment I plugged it in and it installed some usb drivers, the laptop didnt display 2 disks (the phone itself + the sd card) but plenty of disks (D-Z) which the laptop wanted to format immediately (havent done that - last resort move). I have installed the HTC Sync Manager but it doesnt find the phone. It may be due to the screen damage, however, I strongly doubt that and I think it's some software issue. Has anybody had such a problem? What should I do? What kinds of software shall I download to try to tackle this issue?

Thanks in advance for any answer.
My android version is 4.4.4.
Soft version 3.28.401.9
HTC SDK API 6.25
Compilation 3.2.8.401.9 CL389833
Not branded
Let the phone charge for several hours, then hold Power+Vol up for a minute or more , and see if there is any change.
Hi there,
I purchased a PX6 for my 2009 Honda Civic last June and I’ve been having issues ever since I bought it.
The screen is generally heavily distorted, making the graphics look washed out and strangely warped. Occasionally, it will correct itself and look normal but it usually takes a bit of warming up/driving to correct it. Audio through CarPlay will frequently stop playing which only returns when I switch to the radio for an extended period of time. My back camera is also intermittent.
I’m starting to think it may be a power issue? I’ve also noticed certain lights in my car often don’t light up. The gearstick, AC buttons etc. I tested the battery I installed in my car, which came to 12.86 volts. Since updating the HMC a couple days back, I noticed it now displays the battery output in the menu bar. In the image attached, it’s showing 14 volts in the menu bar and when the screen randomly works correctly, the voltage is at around 13 volts. However, this is not conclusive evidence - as I’ve only just updated the software.
If anyone could please advise, I’d greatly appreciate your help.
Thanks,
Danny.

Can no one help me with this?
What happens if you turn the screen brightness down a little bit? Does adjusting brightness make the problem worse, or no change?

No changes at all. Exactly the same.
Have you contacted the seller or manufacturer? If it has never worked right, then I would be looking to replace. If it was purchased on Amazon, I'd suggest return or exchange. I know it's probably not the help you are looking for on the forum, sorry.
I had my phone plugged into the charger and when I turned it on I got this screen. When I reboot, I don't see the boot up screen logo , it just takes me to this screen and I see this big block of white. Any idea what the issue may be?

Try forcing a reboot by holding voldown+power. Let me know if it doesn't work.

Unfortunately its the first thing I did. It doesn't boot with the samesung log, instead with a white screen as above but I see some of the text behind it (like asking for pin number etc)
Will it go into the boot menu?
nope
That really sucks... sorry to hear this. Happens on the S series phones apparently too.
A loose display ribbon connector... maybe.
Looks like a blown display.
Did it recieve any hard impacts?
Always use a good case like the Zizo Bolt.
If so and it was me I would replace the display or order a new N10+ N975U1, they are still available. Almost all of these are loaded with Q.
Personally I refuse to run Android 11 or higher.
If you don't object to Android 11 you can find them used for about the price to replace the display.
Samsung simply doesn't have any other flagship phone that I would buy over the N10+ including the S23U. I have a known good US vendor that sells new ones for $650 which is about twice that of a used one. Bought one from them about 14 months ago. Pristine in the factory sealed box. He buys up unsold lots. The last manufacturer ones were factory loaded with Q.
