I'll certainly check irc when I get home.
On how to dump, you need to run the command "cat /process/emmc" and see what partition the modem is (or post that here and I'll help).

Command doesn't work on E973 (Telus)

Can people with Rogers, Bell and Telus devices please post all the files that have "ril" in the filename.
I think these should be most of them:
/system/lib/libreference-ril.so
/system/lib/libril-qc-qmi-1.so
/system/lib/libril-qcril-hook-oem.so

Excellent. Thank you.
I am trying to see what the differences are between these and those on the N4, and hopefully we can somehow change the default preferred network type on the N4.
Out of curiosity, what is the default preferred network type on your E973? (Dial *#*#INFO#*#* on the dialer and click "Phone Information".)

Hi, here are the same files for the Rogers E-971. If you need anything else, please feel free to ask.
Dial *#*#INFO#*#* does not work for me however (dialer just clears all digits after I input the last * and Im rooted and unlocked)
with the 3845#*971# however, I can access the so called hidden menu. Need something from there?

Do you see "Phone Information" when you access the "hidden menu"? I'm interested in the "Preferred network type" field.

[DUMP] Rogers I747 System Dump

Hi All,
I have a Rogers I747 system Dump uploaded to my drop Box.
https://www.dropbox.com/sh/5zbwf3fjpimethj/BfgAAhppni
Enjoy!
Awesome, thanks! I've been looking to go back to my Rogers stock (on dietics now), but couldn't find out how. Can I just flash this or does something need to be done to it first?

Do not flash system dump
Hello, everyone.
DO NOT flash the Rogers System Dump, or any system dump for that matter.
It's simply a set of system files from a Rogers unit, which will help developers design a ROM around a Rogers base.
I sent my Rogers system dump to a few developers for this purpose. Hopefully, over the next few days, we'll have a new ROM with all the features of the Rogers ROM, and without the AT&T influence (they have a habit of ruining good features).
If you're looking for a stock Rogers ROM, you'll have to wait.

Do you, or anyone, know if there is a stock.tar rogers firmware floating around? Would be great to provide to the devs here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1739426 so that we can have a root only solution for Rogers.

P.S. To anyone who knows the answer, what happens if I take an existing custom ROM, for example, the DIET ICS ROM, and overwrite the system files with my Rogers system dump, repack the ZIP file and then flash? Would this work? Would this then become a flashable stock Rogers ROM?
Although I'm quite experienced and familiar with rooting, flashing, etc., this is getting a bit beyond me.
can you post just the modem.. so we can try flashing to at&t and see if we can get the ability to choose 3g/4g /networks thanks.

You're right. I played around with a custom ROM, tried a few tests, and none worked. Fortunately, I did a Nandroid immediately beforehand, so all is well.
I'll wait for a real developer to make a proper ROM.

Anyone want to post steps to do a dump? I've got a Telus model here that's just aching to be helpful to the cause. Although I have already rooted/installed CWM....
I could always just go borrow someone else's for 20 minutes and dump to my SD card though.

To Dump...
go to your command prompt and type
"adb pull /system C:/sgs3/system.img"
C: is your C drive and sgs3 is a folder which you would have to create.
Takes about 15 - 20 minutes and i believe this is a system dump....
I am not sure how to do a modem dump... i guess it would be a folder in there which needs to be pulled.
Rogers Modem
Hello guys,

And I extracted my Rogers modem!

Flashable version! modem_CWM_Rogers_i747M.zip
Is it the modem or the ROM that allows LTE toggle on our Canadian I747M (compared to our AT&T neighbors) ? Based on my experience with modem flashing from Nexus S and i9100M, my download and upload speeds, and latency and overall connection stability were affected.
If this modem is flashable, I want to try using AT&T modem to see if I get better connection stability.

I cannot believe AT&T doesn't offer the option to disable LTE. I guess they are after increased data consumption, but at the expense of customer dissatisfaction due to worse battery life...come on! I guess we really don't have it as bad as we think with Rogers.

cnap (name display) support for Rogers/Fido

I'm trying to add cnap (name display) support to ics. I've been following a guide I found (here) on how to compile ics using virtualbox ubuntu 10.04. Basically it says to edit a file called "GsmConnection.java" and compile using the new file. I've done all that I'm stuck at the last step before compiling..which is picking the device from the list at "lunch". The device does not show up in the list even though I was able to download the proprietary binaries from the phone.
I'm not a developer or even a coder at all..so any help would be appreciated.
You should post a link to the guide you've been following. Might help us figure out what you're trying to accomplish better lol

Are you sure this is the issue with this CNAP? i know nothing about it but rogers states the name display prob is an issue with LTE devices and LTE in general, which will take ten years to resolve no doubt.since there are rogers devices with LTE you could compare against those. I have the telus p935 and i can say name display is not working as well on any ROM available to flash on this device i've found. I would like to know myself if this is the case on a true rogers lte device with ICS or GB or JB rom

[Q] No LTE using MF4 rom

I am using a WanamLite, a MF4 rom using faux kernel and I am unable to get my LTE to work. Do I need to install a different modem? If so, which one should I use? Thanks.
Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.
Kinda obvious I know, but did you try creating the fast.t-mobile.com apn?:good:
Do you have LTE in your area yet?
The above post is correct, have you put your tmo apn settings in correctly, that rom requires you to manually add them.

I do have lte in my area. Here are some pictures of the Access Points Names. Please let me know if they are correct and you do not see anything wrong. Thank you!
Wanam doesn't include a modem, so you have the same one from before. Go to about device and see ur baseband ver to make sure. Is it because ur icon doesn't show LTE anymore? Wanam changes it.
How to change ur icon.

Try running a speed test too... I think some ROMs just have 4g as a default label for what the carriers call 4g LTE?

[Q] Any Custom Rom having AWS modem ???

Hi Experts and Friends
Happy thanks giving day
I have unlock Samsung Note 2 (i317M) initially it was locked to Telus. Is there any custom rom which have AWS modem so i can flash that rom and use Note 2 with wind. I already tried below method/ procedure but no success in getting the wind signals
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2068041
Waiting patiently for response
Regards & Thanks

Don't think you'll find a custom Rom with this AWS MOD included.
But if your phone is locked to a certain carrier then you'll have to unlock it then you'll be able too use it where you want. Meaning with a different SIM card from another carrier...
Check HERE for FREE unlock:

I think that I should explain from begining.
I bought it from New York, T-Mobile SGH-T889
Guy made it unlocked.
When I go back to Turkey, It was working well with clone IMEI.
2 weeks later, I faced with mobile networks problem.
It was changed to orginal IMEI, and I registered to my passport.
But the problem was still working.
---------------------------------------------------------------
Right Now,
My phone's IMEI : Clone IMEI ( Registered )
I tried all stock and custom roms..
I set up APN. : (
But I don't think that the problem is about Apn because,
This warning is always seems even I dont put the sim card
Please help, thanks
Does anyone know any patch or something, thanks.
Clone IMEI?
i think your dealing with something illegal.
If you didnt know, you do now, its illegal to change the IMEI of a device.

It's illegal in US, but I'm sure it's perfectly legal in some other countries.

Ill rephrase it also, its illegal to do in the US and i believe this site has a zero tolerance for it as well.
But ill kindly bow out of the conversation since the root of the issue may be IMEI related.
