I am using a WanamLite, a MF4 rom using faux kernel and I am unable to get my LTE to work. Do I need to install a different modem? If so, which one should I use? Thanks.
Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.
Kinda obvious I know, but did you try creating the fast.t-mobile.com apn?:good:
Do you have LTE in your area yet?
The above post is correct, have you put your tmo apn settings in correctly, that rom requires you to manually add them.

I do have lte in my area. Here are some pictures of the Access Points Names. Please let me know if they are correct and you do not see anything wrong. Thank you!
Wanam doesn't include a modem, so you have the same one from before. Go to about device and see ur baseband ver to make sure. Is it because ur icon doesn't show LTE anymore? Wanam changes it.
How to change ur icon.

Try running a speed test too... I think some ROMs just have 4g as a default label for what the carriers call 4g LTE?

I'll certainly check irc when I get home.
On how to dump, you need to run the command "cat /process/emmc" and see what partition the modem is (or post that here and I'll help).

Command doesn't work on E973 (Telus)
Can people with Rogers, Bell and Telus devices please post all the files that have "ril" in the filename.
I think these should be most of them:
/system/lib/libreference-ril.so
/system/lib/libril-qc-qmi-1.so
/system/lib/libril-qcril-hook-oem.so

Excellent. Thank you.
I am trying to see what the differences are between these and those on the N4, and hopefully we can somehow change the default preferred network type on the N4.
Out of curiosity, what is the default preferred network type on your E973? (Dial *#*#INFO#*#* on the dialer and click "Phone Information".)

Hi, here are the same files for the Rogers E-971. If you need anything else, please feel free to ask.
Dial *#*#INFO#*#* does not work for me however (dialer just clears all digits after I input the last * and Im rooted and unlocked)
with the 3845#*971# however, I can access the so called hidden menu. Need something from there?

Do you see "Phone Information" when you access the "hidden menu"? I'm interested in the "Preferred network type" field.

As far as I know, data up to LTE works...Sprint's EVDO does not however.
Flashing the fix APN fix will serve no purpose as the APNs are already included

Which carrier are you using? I'm assuming T-Mobile....
Reading the install instructions you should have done B. The post that says match what the APNs are is missing. I would got back to the thread and ask for APNs.

Did you try flashing another kernel? I believe the T-mobile variants need to use a kernel like Devil or Agni to get wifi working. there was a link in the OP for the rom you flashed for a kernel. It has probably been updated since the link was added.

I actually got the Data to work by adding APN. The wifi issue, i did flash that Kernel with no change. Is there any one Kernel that you'd recommend?
Thanks for the help BTW

I prefer agni. You only need a custom kernel if you are running a pre-knox bootloader. I do and choose Agni. You can find it in the N7105 dev forum.
Hastily spouted for your befuddlement
Late to the party, but I agree- get Agni kernel, it's amazing!
For future reference, here is a text file with the T-Mobile apn settings I use. I have an i317 for At&t, but these settings allow my data on T-mobile's network to work flawlessly. I have a primary and a secondary listed. Anyway, you can save this text file to your extSD so you always have it for reference.
If I no longer have AT&T as my carrier do I still need to download AT&T specific ROMS
I'm now on Cricket but I'm looking to flash a different ROM. Can I now flash any non specific carrier ROM or do I still need to use/flash the AT&T ones only?

I don't know. But my Note 2 was AT&T now on Cricket. But I stick with AT&T roms since Cricket is really Aio. I just change the APN.
I'm fairly sure I gotta stick with AT&T roms but I'd like to be sure.
EDIT: What did you change the APN settings to?

My settings are the same except for APN type. All I can choose when I click on it is "Internet + MMS", "Internet", or "MMS". How can I change that?
Also what ROM are you using? I'm stuck between Cyanogenmod 11, Ditto Note 3 and EZKat 2.0.

I am using DN3 and to change APN I deleted the AT&T APN and added the Cricket APN. That's the only way I got exact like that.

rwilco.com has some solid links for the tar.md5s. I bought a prepaid sch-i545 (verizon s4) and it had its own weird rom for it, even said a different build # in the about phone section. I flashed the stock i545 rom in odin and its now a regular vzw S4. The same will likely hold true for the L710

Yes, the 4g icon does mean LTE. I'm running a ROM that my friend compiled and where I live there isn't sprint LTE and I'm using a at&t sim in my phone
Is there a APN fix or something to get LTE working for aicp? So far its my favorite other than only 3g data working. Also if I switch to LTE it says in the sim status that voice and data are lte. Just no mobile connection.

Thanks for the awesome help. I think I'm sticking with wicked s5 2.2 for now. It looks like it just seems to work and has the added bonus of being able to over clock and underclock a little. Ran into a few annoying bugs in aicp that's known but not fixed yet. (No 4g and forced into speaker phone)

I'm on nd8 and I don't have any issues flashing any rom or weirdness with features not working. My daily driver is a g900p and the same issue with the most recent baseband exists there too. I'll drag my L710 out and see what's what on it. Gonna be a lil bit tho. Household stuff to attend to
oops, im on MK3!! Ive run tons of ROMs on this baseband and havent ever had an issue. I dont have sprint LTE where i live, but ive been to places where there is sprint LTE and this baseband/modem/radio version has worked perfectly. The newest baseband isnt always best
there are many posts saying exactly what you said. Just they said nj2 was working fine and ah1 baseband doesn't work well. Also I'm not sure if you can downgrade firmware after mk something.
