[Q] WIND Mobile SGH-T889V - Will it work?

Can someone from Canada please confirm or deny that the T-Mobile ROMs work on WIND/Mobilicity Notes? I really want to get the Multi-Window features and a bunch of other goodies, but I do not want to brick my precious. :crying:

Yes it will work. Just need to unlock it. Don't even need to root it to unlock it.
(Only need to unlock it if it's from mobilicity ofcourse)

Unlock? You mean unlock the bootloader, or the phone? I already have a SGH-T889V Locked on WIND (Probably), that I purchased directly from WIND and it works perdectly with my SIM Card. I only want to root it and flash Custom ROMS.

Sry I must have been drunk when I read your first post lol
I'm note sure about rooting it. It's baseband is different than the US TMobile variant. (US is LJ1 I think, my Mobilicity one reads LJ4)
I posted in the toolkit thread if it will work on our canadian ones. I hope someone replies soon.

Not sure if you mean will a tmobile note2 work on wind? Currently using a tmobile note 2 stock running on Wind... Just unlocked phone and evening working fine.

It should work. The internals are the same and the T889 and T889v are listed on sammobile on same page for stock ROMs. Just make sure to store a nandroid and back up your efs

1) By unlock you mean I need to sim unlock it first to use T mobile SGH-T889 roms
2) SGH-T889V has wireless charging pins....does those work ?

No. You can use tmobile ROMs you may just need yoyr Canadian radio that u wull be putting up today
from my Galaxy Note 2!!!

A SIM unlocked T-Mobile Note II works on Wind Mobile or Mobilicity without any modification.
I am looking for comment from Canadian users of T-Mobile Note II to confirm if the performance would improve after flashing the T889V modem.

To answer your question, yes performance will improve after flashing the T889V modem, but the difference is very slim. Data speeds and reception are generally the same, but the T889V modem might get half a bar of signal where the tmobile one will get none.

[Q] modem sgh-i317 at&t

Hi all
I bought a GN2 Sgh-i317 at&t I unlock to use overseas with other carrier
The Modem function doe not work at all.
How to fix it?
I also would like to errase all at&t aps & setting from the phone

I would suggest talking to the carrier that you are trying to use to give you the correct carrier settings.

Hi I't what I did first I I had to change the sim size (previous GS II, which modem was working)
I've checked again just before posting this question, all seems to be Ok from them
The message is " Non available data or non valid sim"
I've seen on forums that the at&t modem is locked for at&t network only
May only the phone setting is unlocked but not the modem ones?
Or should I flash and other Rom (Noterious or n7105?

As read on few forums, it looks like the AT&T modem is looked, even if the phone is unlooked...
I'm looking to flash int'l modem (7105?) on the sgh-i317

I've rooted the phone and install the ULTIMATE ROM # N7105XXDMF2 , by miscom, with the base bande I317UCAMC3 and it works great & the battery life is increase by 3 minimum !!!
I haven't checked the speed as here we've got a very low flow (2Mo...)
When installing, do not load the AT&T CSC
I have'nt load the AT&T VVM (Visual Voice Mail) neither

No 3G coverage with some Roms?

Hi,
A good few roms that i would like to use don't show 3G data, it just doesn't come on. I have tried a few modems on it and it still does not work.
Is this a modem problem or something else?

Sounds like a problem at your end, try the modem that comes with the latest stock rom of your country/region, clear the cache/dalvik cache and reboot .

Thanks for the reply, i will try that now, but i'm not sure it will work, i am coming from Omega Rom which works fine for me but when i change to another rom using aroma installer, i always choose not to change the modem and 3G still does not work.
I have just tried Assassin Ressurection modem changer with X-Rom and none of the modems give me 3G

Are you getting cellular data at all?
If not, it's probably the APN list for some ROMs doesn't include your carrier.

I have tried about 8 roms and half don't give me a 3G signal, is there an easy fix for this?

I restored my phone back to Omega rom and copied the APN settings from there and put these settings into my new rom and still there is no 3G

I asked soloilmeglio who developed X_note rom why i couldn't get 3G to work and he replied.....

The working Omega rom is set to ITV and works and even if i set it to BTU, once it boots up the new rom, it is set at ITV again.
Anybody got any other ideas?

is the IMIE blocked?
its a TMO unit but you mention unlocked. Are you using TMO? different carrier?

IMEI is clean, I checked it. I try to use different. But I had used before and I worked well.

Does the phone display your IMEI number? if you were flashing different roms you may have flashed the improper modem onto it. the easiest thing to try is to flash stock through ODIN.

I think that I should explain from begining.
I bought it from New York, T-Mobile SGH-T889
Guy made it unlocked.
When I go back to Turkey, It was working well with clone IMEI.
2 weeks later, I faced with mobile networks problem.
It was changed to orginal IMEI, and I registered to my passport.
But the problem was still working.

i think your dealing with something illegal.
If you didnt know, you do now, its illegal to change the IMEI of a device.

I tried to use current IMEI, BUT It didn't work thats why I try clone IMEI

It's illegal in US, but I'm sure it's perfectly legal in some other countries.
IMEI is not an international law.

Ill rephrase it also, its illegal to do in the US and i believe this site has a zero tolerance for it as well.
But ill kindly bow out of the conversation since the root of the issue may be IMEI related.

SIM Problem

Hello guys,
I thought if posting my other problem since the wifi one I had got quickly fixed when I posted it yesterday (thanks to the awesome XDA members).
My mom's SIM Card was on her note 2 before she gave me it, and when I removed it to replace it whith mine, I turned the phone on and entered the PIN Code, but I can't text, call, or do anything with the SIM (not registered on network)
I am sure this is not a hardware problem nor a software one.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Isn't the phone network locked?
Or try changing modem.
Visit Sammobile, click Firmware Database, and search for your N2 and country. Check the modem of the latest Android version that you have in your phone (ex. Im using KK and from the PH, the latest KK rom is ND4 and its modem is DXUFND2). Try to search for your modem in JoelDroid's thread or the Hurricane modem changer in Hurricane Tools thread.
