I want unlock the bootloader for S-OFF and root my phone, and install a Rom Costum.
In the Advanced Ace Hack Kit manuel, it is write: Unlock the bootloader using the HTC DEV bootloader unlock process.
Do you know an other average to do that?

No. but that only applies if you have the last 2.3.5 update in your inspire. Then, you are in the right way, if not there's no need to unlock it. Regarding the fail message, seems that the file unlock token is not ok. Do you have a md5sum to check?

dont know if this is relevant, but my dhd was on 2.3.5 when i ran the hack kit and i didnt use htc dev, yet im rooted and s-off

No it is not relevant. You are not supposed to unlock the bootloader. That is just for Inspire's running the lastest at&t build. All other builds are mainly supported.

Well, I'm going to test put S-OFF and root my HDH With Advanced Ace Hack Kit without unlock
Edit:!
I try, but it Fail: AAHK say to me: Read the Effen Manuel! Don't Watch the TV!
Have I to unlock the bootloader or not?
I am on Android 2.3.5, Sense 3.0.

So, now, I can run the AAHK, but he says to me: You have to Dowgroad.
When I put the PD98IMG on my SdCard and run into the bootloader, my HDH says: Update fail! Main Version is older!
What can I do >< ?

Did you say that you were rooted and S-OFF earlier? If so why are you running AAHK?

All it's work, now it's good ^^!
Just be the Downgroad with AAHC and it works!
Thank you all!

Yep, that is the problem.
I believed, you confused it. Ship s-off and eng s-off are different. You need eng s-off to flash radio.
Sent from my Desire HD using XDA Premium App
Yes radio s-off will allow you to revert your radio to older version but you need engineering s-off to actually revert it.

You messed your bootloader and now is in superslow motion. Use this and no other stuff or you will probably end up with a bricked device:

this is painful, but do this: power off the device, take sdcard out and then reboot in hboot and see if you are able to navigate.
Then follow what I posted you earlier

You need to wait ages for that to happen. Your hboot is in super slow motion.....wait about 20 to 30 minutes
Ok, I Wait
I followed the method but getting at:

S-ON and unlocked are different stuff. If your bootloader is not unlocked and fastboot is not working, that sounds bad...
I can't Unlock.

ok, then you are not in a good situation. Maybe your last resort is to flash a RUU...but that can definitely brick your device.

Can't root - always get "data transfer failure" when sending recovery

Hello,
So I've spent the last couple of days trying to root a T-mobile Wildfire S. The furthest I got is to get the bootloader unlocked (it's still S-ON). I've tried several utilities from xda forums as well as just the command line of this sort: "fastboot flash recovery recovery.img" with a few different recoveries. I always get the following error (with the numbers varying, obviously):
sending 'recovery' (4744 KB)...
FAILED (data transfer failure (Unknown error))
finished. total time: 0.014s
I've tried it with the SD card I used on the phone as well as with cleanly formatted one.
Am I missing some basic step somewhere?..
If it helps, this is what it shows me when I do the power+volumedown boot:

This is driving me crazy. Considering I had to reset the phone to unlock the bootloader, not being able to at least get the benefits of rooting it is really frustrating. Any help is appreciated!
Since the error you received was a data transfer error I'm thinking it might be one of two things. Maybe its just your usb cable and you might have better luck with another one or you don't have all the HTC drivers properly installed. Not sure if this is related, but I've read that 2012 versions of the phone give you more trouble when trying to root them.
Sorry my knowledge is limited since I'm a it new to this as well. If its any consolation, I spent almost a whole day figuring out how to root my WFS.

You have to go to htc dev to unlock your bootloader... I think you'll find answer if u look around the forum.... Cause most of us unlocked it...
Without unlocking/s-off u cant get recovery flashed... If u cant flash one recovery try different recoveries... one of them should succeed..
