Yep, that is the problem.

I believed, you confused it. Ship s-off and eng s-off are different. You need eng s-off to flash radio.

Yes radio s-off will allow you to revert your radio to older version but you need engineering s-off to actually revert it.

Are you sure you have ENG S-OFF? If you search the forum for
desire HD FAILED (remote: not allowed)
it looks like the reason for this error is not having ENG S-OFF.

Hi,
you can not use fastboot commands if you only have Ship S-OFF. You need Eng S-OFF for this.
Are you trying to flash a radio or custom ROM? With radio you need both radio and eng off, that's recommended anyways. With custom ROMs you only need one.

I wouldnt put my money on that one either, it requires you to have fastboot=eng-off
ok i think your extremely confused. i am sure if you look around harder you could topics to what your looking for. but we shall spare you that, shall we.
first off, I realised you use radio and custom ROM interchangably. they are different things.
RADIO is related to the receptivity of your phone, flashing a newer radio will increase reception and lower battery usage.
CUSTOM ROM is a custom 'interface' for your phone, well, they are all android based anyways. for instance you have HTC Sense and Samsung Touchwiz and so on.
rooting/s-off can be divided into 2 types, one is called eng off and the other one is called radio off/ship off/
eng off installs a engineered bootloader onto your system which allows you to issue command through fastboot, like what you were doing before when you were doing this.

except you are only radio off, which doesnt have fastboot command. thats why all yout attempts have failed.
if you are attempting to flash a radio please get eng off too. please refer to this to get eng off http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=841076
to flash a custom ROM, you only need one, either eng off or radio off. first, download a recovery app, namely ROM manager on the market. after you have done that, select flash a custom ROM(in the app, of course), it will then prompt you to select a custom ROM zip file. select it and press confirm.
heres a list to the latest custom ROM. remember, dont unzip the files you download, leave them as they are in your sd card.

If you don't want to bother with Eng s-off their is an alternate way to flash a bootsplash.
Just put your image in the pd98img.zip in this thread and flash through hboot screen.

In the Advanced Ace Hack Kit manuel, it is write: Unlock the bootloader using the HTC DEV bootloader unlock process.
Do you know an other average to do that?

No. but that only applies if you have the last 2.3.5 update in your inspire. Then, you are in the right way, if not there's no need to unlock it. Regarding the fail message, seems that the file unlock token is not ok. Do you have a md5sum to check?

No it is not relevant. You are not supposed to unlock the bootloader. That is just for Inspire's running the lastest at&t build. All other builds are mainly supported.

ok, then you are not in a good situation. Maybe your last resort is to flash a RUU...but that can definitely brick your device.
