Rooting HTC One X International - HTC One X

Hey guys,
I have one small question for you as I'm going nuts!
I'm sorry if this question was already answered, I couldn't find it...
Anyway, Is there a way to root the HTC One X (mine is the international Tegra model) without using HTCDev?
I don't want to use HTCDev as I'm sure they are keeping records of all devices that did root on file to avoid their warranty if needed...
I hope I'm mistaken here but I guess you can understand my concern...(after paying $750 for it you wanna keep the warranty)
Thanks a lot guys !

unless your device is S-OFF, you will HAVE to use htcdev to unlock your bootloader ; to check boot into bootloader mode (Power + Vol Down)
Ps. not the correct forum to post in

Sorry mate as far as the Tegra is concerned there is no way to root skipping HTC Dev,only if your phone was for AT&T(evita),it would have been possible

As per the answers above, there is no alternative.

Need some help please...

Hi guys,
I bought HTC wildfire S... Its a branded Australian version as i see 'NEXT' network logo on phone and box...
It has been unlocked coz i am using a different network in Asia...
Since it doesn't come in warranty, i want to Root it, and start installing custom roms on it..i know much about HTC sensation coz i own that too and have good knowledge of Android stuff...
Can someone tell me what should i do to Root it?
I saw in forums here that unlocking bootloader is via HTCdev and xtc clip...
I don't care about loosing warranty stuff but i want to enable ROOT and flash custom roms and remove the NEXT network animation on boot and remove all bloatwares..
Unlock bootloader and then root the phone. tutorials are in the forums.

HTCdev method is only option for me as i don't have xtc clip
i don't know of HTC Dev will have bootloader unlock for a branded Australian wildfire s....
To be honest, if you look around on all the topics their are plenty of solutions on what to do with unlocking and rooting....

Root without unlock unlock BootLoader

Hi guys, I'm new to the HTC One X (Tegra 3 Version). I wish to root my device without unlocking the BootLoader, for warranty purposes. Is this possible? Sorry if this is a stupid question but I'm kinda new.
Oh, and another question, when/if the One X finally get S-OFF will that be able to remove the BootLoader 'Tamper Flag' (The thing that says Locked, Unlocked or Re-locked)
Thankyou for taking the time to read this.
No it can't be done without S-OFF
for now exists only temp root, which might cause problems, and the limit of this way is that on reboot you lose it.
only way for now is unlocking bl with htcdev and then you can root and install custom roms etc. etc..
or wait for s-off (can be long waiting as can be short one, nobody know)

HTCDev is down

Hello XDA.
Recently I wanted to unlock the bootloader on my HOX witch required to use the tools provided by HTC through HTCDev.com but is seems that the site is constantly down...
A question to who ever might help:
"-Is there any other way to unlock the bootloader on the HOX or do we have to wait for HTC?

HTCdev is having problems since yesterday.
It is not completely down: Tonight I was able to follow the procedure by reloading the pages multiple times. It was very slow, but I couldn't wait.
Ah, and yes, the only way is HTCdev for now.
HTCDev ALWAYS have problems... whenever i use it it's either painfully slow or not even working
Just have to wait this one out, i suggest when you get your unlockcode, that you keep it saved somewhere special
Sad to hear that there is no other way @ tha procedure... But if that's the only way then that's how it will be...
Thanks for the quick answer.
Best of luck.

yep, it took me about 30 minutes to follow those steps! could have been made in 5 of less if it was fast.. :S
I tried to unlock HOX of my colleague but still problem with this site. Site crushed on agreement window....
i unlocked it with much pain too!! it's the worst website i've ever openned

Non-htcdev Bootloader unlock 2.20

I was wondering, if now that the CID exploit was found if there would be any attempt to unlock the bootloader without using the HTC site. (i ask cuz i see most questions like this not answered, but people routing other to current x-factor exploit which requires htcdev.)
I think you're in the wrong forum. This forum is for the tegra 3 international One X

[Q] Unbranding

Hi All
My name is Phil and I'm new to HTC phones so I apologise in advance.
I wonder if anyone out there can help me, I'm trying to just unbrand my unlocked Vodafone UK HTC One M8 which is currently on KK 4.4.4. What I would like to achieve is an unbranded phone as if I had purchased it unlocked from HTC with the warranty in tact that will accept OTA's so I'll get lollipop.
I understand I will most probably have to unlock the bootloader, root, S-off etc but what I'm a little unsure about is, can I get an official stock rom complete with sense 6 installed on the phone and then lock it all back up for warranty (ie in fastboot it states locked, original software, s-on etc etc)
I have read many threads and watched youtube videos that seem to show that it can be done but I would like to check with you guys before I start.
If this is possible, which method would you recommend as there seems to a few different methods.
Also is Sunshine the only s-off method now?
Again I'm sorry but I've come from a Sony xperia phone which unbranding was really easy to achieve without rooting
Thank you in advance
Phil
I take it you took advantage of the recent deal too. Anyone would be crazy not too at that price.
At the moment it seems that the Vodafone m8s can't be s-off'd so we have to wait for root ninja to release sunshine v3 which will work. It doest seem to far off.
Once you have s-off you can change your CID and flash the generic firmware and Rom. We just have to play the waiting game now.
I think sunshine does reset the flags for you, but I'm not sure on that. Oh and don't s-on again unless you absolutely have to send the phone in for service.
Thanks isx for your reply
I did indeed get it while it was on offer
Any ideas on the lead time of sunshine V3?
I have lollipop on my Galaxy S5 and keen to get on the HTC too
Cheers for your help
