I have posted this in Q&A twice and no help, so forgive me for wrong section.
My One X has a very weird issue that no matter what I can't find anyone who has it. It has a screen flex on the right side, but if I press on the side or something else does, the phone shuts off. The only way to turn it on after this is to plug it into the wall. HTC wouldn't take it because of the bootloader. I just would like to know if there is anyway possible to fix this. I can't even put a case on the device because doing so cause the phone to turn off in my pocket.

The only thing you could do is to take it apart and search for the problem and then eventually replace the defected part
If you have the AT&T version, you'd be better off in that forum, this is for the Tegra version.
I'm.sure the States has consumer protection law, it's clearly a hardware defect. Put stock ROM and whatever else on it and insist your retailer deal.with the problem.

HTC has international warranty, but not sure it if covers US or not.
I can have a warranty in Turkey for devices which are bought in the EU. Better check with HTC support.

The warranty for all HTC devices is as thekillingroad mentioned is "INTERNATIONAL" and should cover the US as well. I had a problem with mine as well, a different one, but if it wasn't for the warranty provided by the carrier I've bought the device from I would've sent it in service under HTC's warranty.
You just have to contact HTC CS and they'll tell you the procedure you have to follow.
I wasn't satisfied with the quality of the repair my device received as it came back with more defects the than it was sent in with and contacted them by phone and afterwards got a complete replacement.
My advice: don't even hesitate to give them a call.
Best of luck.

If all else fails invest in a couple of guitar plectrums and take the whole screen out, then reseat it. Plenty of YouTube vids showing how to do this.

Try http://us.protectyourbubble.com they are a British company that just opened up in America. When you get the policy you need to call them, because the phone was not in their database yet. I just signed up with them last week and never have used them before. Their Google rating was excellent. They also cover theft and they will over night a replacements phones.

This.
They have 30% off coupons running all the time so two-years of coverage including ADH is about $99. It's also transferable so if you want to sell it via eBay/CL you'll get more for it when selling it with a warranty.

I have a one x two year contract with Vodafone UK. Correct me if I am wrong but if my phone goes faulty within the contract period is it Vodafones responsibility to repair/replace it. For this reason is it not likely that the boot loader will never be checked for locked/unlocked status, hence it is safe to htcdev unlock

And if they send it back to HTC to be repaired? I read on the Vodafone forums that they did sometimes. Also they will be quite aware of HTCdev unlock. Its a right get out for them to use along with their favourite "water damage" excuse. Ive unlocked mine but i wont send it back if i have a problem, ill use my insurance.
from my experience with the one x and vodaphone staff they wouldnt have a clue one of them told me to to a system reboot and then i would need to connect it to a pc as she had wiped the rom i said oh thanx for the help and hung up not very savy when it comes to the one x defo not

phone support staff are not the same as tech/repair staff. vodafone may even send it to a subcontractor/htc for repair or further tests who would be capable of checking such things

Its with my bank now and ive not used them yet. It used to be with Vodafone and they used to just replace with a new handset if it was beyond repair.
I´ve been reading, how to root, and it says you will lose, alter CID, so that´s an easy way to check if you unlocked the bootloader..
My question is, locking it again and run the RUU will get the original CID back?
And if so htc will not know it´s was unlocked in the first place?
thanks
Only problem is that it will say relocked rather than locked. There was someone who managed to get it back to locked apparently

I just decided to go for it and ditch the warranty. If I bricked the phone, there are loads of ways to fix it on here.
My only worry is I'd bring it to Vodafone and they would notice the CoreDroid custom icons.

In the 1st 6 months the seller must prove you caused the fault before denying a remedy. After 6 months its vice-versa
Unless they can demonstrate unlocking caused any issues, you're covered by the Sales of Goods Act

Hey members,
Greetings to ALL!!!!!!!
Has anyone got HOX from the latest batch, i.e HT26 or SH26....?
If so kindly reply me with the details of it, and if in case anyone facing issues
with the latest batch HOX, please mention that also.
It would be so helpful for me to get an issue free HOX...I hope so.
I hade 3 from ht261.
1- yellow spot.
2- Dead pixel.
3- dust under the screen.
Got a SH26RW today in exchange for my screen-rippled SH24MW. Was delivered a few minutes ago, not tested yet. I'll keep ya up to date...

I would say no difference to the previous batches. We have at work few different 23 batches xw, yw or something etc. And all have different issues (and some in common). I am not convinced by the 26 being perfect.
The build quality seems to be the same. Except its shipped with the latest .11 fw, but thats about it.
George down has it right.
I would say its either not depending on the batches. Or wait more

Well, just a little screen ripple in the right upper corner when pushing harder so nothing out of the ordinary. Sometimes the WiFi signal icon drops, but neither can I restore it by pushing the case nor do I notice any lags.. so not sure if it's the WiFi issue or some graphic bug..
Sent from my HTC One X using xda app-developers app
Edit:
The other one had that same WiFi icon issue btw...
Update:
Well screen ripple's pretty bad at both sides' very outer edges of the screen, in some positions effect reaches into the middle. Also there's some strangle loose, jiggle noise when pushing the back/home/recent button that's beyond normal vibration, but only when feedback is enabled (settings -> sounds -> vibrate feedback).
Btw got mine from amazon.de, and they offered me to return the first phone immediatly when I told them 'bout my screen ripple and either sent me a new batch One X.

Hi,
Has HTC said anything about how much it costs for them to replace the m8's battery?
I have no intention of doing this myself, but I'd like to know that my phone can last longer that 2 years.
What about for the m7? I can't find anything about a battery replacement service online nor the cost.
If it's $99 I can accept it, but anything more would not make much financial sense.
Apple charges $79, for what it's worth.
You could use your phone to call HTC and ask.

My old HTC One S still holds a charge. It's an original launch day device from tmobile, with the original battery.
My dad was using it and would get almost a week on a battery.
He's using my m7 now.
So I wouldn't really worry about it that much.

+1 What he says
There are no listing at the moment as the product is so new. Plus the phone is sealed so the normal outlets other than HTC are unlikely to stock as it is classed as a service item - in other words, for the majority it would involve a return to store. (As you say - 'I have no intention of doing this myself',')
Remember if someone has had problems this early on with the battery, they would have gone for a replacement phone (I know I would have!)
- No doubt at some point somebody will release one. but for now, your best port of call is HTC direct
Like he said^^^^^^^^^^^^
I have a couple problems with my m8 including dust under the screen, wiggly power button, my speaker on the bottom is slightly warped and not flush with the screen. My volume button is bent slightly, and my screen bulges slightly. Anyway, laundry list of problems aside, I want to RMA but I am uncertain of the process. How much do they scrutinize the phone for hardware issues or software tampering and what is the process for getting the replacement - do they require you to send the phone first and become phone-less for a while, or authorize my card for the full charge of the phone and I send back the old one after I get the new one? Will they accept my phone for rma after one month of having it? (I left the country for a month after getting it and obviously couldn't get a replacement). And finally, overall, is it an easy experience?

I have replaced 2 HTC One M8 with AT&T so far. Process is simple. They send you the replacement phone with an RMA sticker. You put your old phone into the same box, put the RMA sticker on the box and ship it off via USPS. I restored my phones with stock AT&T ROM, left recovery alone, s-off and have had no problems.

Don't put it in your original box or you won't get it back. Easiest thing to do is use htc's online chat. They will organise everything.
