Should I get the htc one x? Or wait till the shipment first ship out again?

I would like to know your guys thoughts On the htc 1 x. The super target in my town has 1 htc 1 x left in white. Obviously it was shipped before the customs seize But I see a lot of shipments everyones having problems with screen issues at overheating on early shipment phones. Should I gamble I go ahead and buy it and see what happens or w wait to they a ship more out. As of right now they are holding it for me.

would have helped if you have the first 5 letters from the serial
like SH248 or HT24X etc...

this should help you go for the One X..watch the impressions and thoughts of this guy who talks about the s3 and listen to what he says about the One x...basically praising it and showing why the s3 is rubbish and just go in a store and inspect it..Hamdir has a guide were he gives you pointers what to look out for when checking your One X

Do you know any certain serial numbers or how I would go about looking at it. older ones in the store with certain letter and number or not? Also what is your number would be on the box correct? But most of the issues with the 1 x didn't the update fix most of the screen problems and wifi problems and overheating problems? Sorry for all the questions but thank you so much for the help.

who the hell claimed that all the first batches are flwed!!!!
all we know there was a high rate of defects in those
if you have one perfect device it doesn't disprove the insane amount of defected phones we experienced
BOLDING YOUR LETTERS DOESN'T MAKE YOU RIGHT!
we are no gonna re-talk all this!
lets close our eyes and say the tons of users on this forum crying from their flexing screen or returns cycle are lying!
further than the heaviest reports of the flex issue were between end of March and early April
so your device is out!

[Q] Orange spot on bottom of screen

Hi,
well wasn't over here for too long, so am feeling like a total n00b :/. I just noticed orange spot on bottom of screen in left corner, it shows on htc boot screen and everywhere where are white menus. Didn't notice it before. I have my V for few days now. it is definetely not something on glass, but a spot on lcd screen. it's like half centimeter big, not very noticeable, but annoying. Any ideas?

Thanks for reply, and I just unlocked bootloader, rooted and flashed custom ROM. oh well, I will try to live with it for next few days, anyway replacement period is over, if I give it to store where I bought it they'll send it to service and I will be without it for at least two weeks. Maybe I get used to it, if it will not get bigger.

I noticed the same exact thing. On the bottom of the screen on both sides.. it almost looks like its burnt

I got the same. But dont really notice it during daily use so decided too not send it in to htc

yeah, kinnda the same. thought it is burnt by oc-ing, but I guess cpu is not there. too lazy to send it to service as it is such fun now with roms, kernels, etc.

It seems to come and go now. Yesterday I ONLY saw it in sense. Today I'm seeing it in cm9. I don't see it on the HTC screen on power on. It seems that the screen has to be on for a bit for it to appear

Yellow spot

Had my phone Since release day not had any issues with it but all of a sudden it has developed a very noticeable yellow spot on the top left side ,not happy will they replace

Yeah, they fixed mine free of charge. Some people say leaving the screen on full brightness overnight fixes the issue, doing this made mine less visible.

I also got mine on release day and it too developed the yellow spots, two of them I noticed. But they seemed to disappear on their own. I not sure if it was rom or kernel related. Just give it some more time it has been a known issue and there are some tricks to speed up the process.

Mine did this, then it came back with a vengeance. Nothing I did got rid of it except applying pressure which only worked for a second or two.

I had exactly the same issue. Bought a Hox on release day. After a few months the yellow spots appeared.
I sent it for warranty repair and they replaced the display (free of charge). Problem gone.

Welline seems to be getting worse so its going back I'm in UK anyone have the best contact details for HTC over this issue

I got really pissed off about a week ago because stupid optus network was f*[email protected] slow so I banged my phone really hard with the side of my fist. I got two yellow spots the next day. They went away after 2 days and haven't seen them since :-/

Just to add my phone used to get very hot even after 5 mins use and it no longer does Ben using it for 15 mins now and no heat at all,wonder what else they have done

Screen issue need advice plz

Sup guys/gals, this is my first issue with hardware or build quality today I noticed my screen rocks side to side mainly when pressing the top 2 corners of the device I just updated arhd 9.4.0 with st and noticed a price drop on mc3 so I played that for 30min the device become extremely hot then I noticed the screen issue. I would like to hear if you've had this issue and how you got it fixed was it covered under warranty even with bootloader relocked? btw I'm on three UK

Wow am I the only one? The whole screen is moving you can't see it move but can feel it the case seems a lot looser than last night it also seems to have developed the flex issue over night I woke up with my battery temp at 50oC and when I slightly touch the HTC logo top quarter of the screen goes white when it should be black I'm starting too get worried now would really appreciate some advice guys

Return back to stock relock bootloader and take it back and see what that your screen shouldn't move

That is clearly a hardware / manufacturing defect, so they will most probably fix it despite the unlocked bootloader. But like the poster above me said, relock the bootloader and flash the correct RUU before taking it back.

Lol definitely shouldn't move I think gameloft killed my screen as I've never noticed any problem before I'm more worried about three saying I must cover the costs as they've tried several times with my n96, n97, x10i but I stood my ground and got all of these phones for free in one contract at no extra cost I'm guessing it wont be as smooth when they see bootloader relocked

I thought the same but my phone has never got that hot before even on terga3 games just hope they replace for free,
I've just found filefactory password my cid is H3G__001 when checking bootloader it says my radio is 1.1204.103.14
Is ruu below correct it looks right to me but wanna make sure

Volume Rocker

Has any one else have this problem..
My volume down button gets stuck into the frame, (must press the button down then up forward into the screen) its really not that big a deal ,Though am just curious of your opinion.
Tomorrow thinking of exchange since am in the 14-day return period.
This might proceed to get worse or what do you think?
I understand dirt can build up and this may cause an issue.

Hey guys quick question. I bought my HTC One from a "premium retailer" at BJS was wandering if anyone knows if i call verizon customer support if they would send me a new one? Currently its too late to call them,
aswell.. an official verizon store said (when i went earlier) they cannot exchange for it is a different retailer.

as long as you pay for the insurance/ warranty package it won't matter.

I have the warranty 'will give them a call early this morning.

So i called verizon this morning amd they weren't' able to send me a replacement, I ended up going to the store and they replaced it with no pleasure at all saying nothing was wrong with it
Anyways i got my new set and before i set it up i checked it carefully and what i saw was uptop there was a much longer gap which ive seen on these fourms and thats pretty normal, was more concerned on the volume button.
Anyhow since i got the replacement it seems more slow and jittery (owell) and now ive noticed .. if you would check the pic.. anyone else have this? its hidden light bleed can only see on a deep slant
doubt my last device had this issue but curious how common this hidden error is.
EDIT:: feel like i got the prototype

I work at a premium and if you have an issue with your phone we swap it out and we get our money back from where we get our phones. we get our phones from hundreds of different online retailers including Verizon direct. the faster we get rid of our phones the better and there is a period where we can return it and get a refund. depending on the vendor there is different time periods we even mark them from the date we get them and that's what we sell first. This phone has not been out that long and that retailer blows for giving you an issue 4g would never do that. Returning is all together is another issue restocking fees apply even at Verizon direct.

they had none in stock so they are sending me one through mail, idk if its straight from official verizion or what but they say it may be used or new (depending on stock)
i went to some other premium retailer in another town ,(hoboken) had such great service
seems the more legit looking the place is ,the better.

I've seen some sort of light bleed on all htc LCD screens. Good luck finding one that doesn't.

why you gettin at me? im very happy with electronics and this device im on specifically. if the new one turns out to be less attractive im sending it back and will live with what i got. no problem here...

I think his point is people who look for silly imperfections are pessimists and will only look at half empty scenarios. Nothing is perfect.

exactly. Imagine if people could swap out their cars for any perceived flaws. These things are made in a factory run through an assembly line. Some variance is considered normal. There is no such thing as a perfect electronic device.

and you bashing my thread , well you have your opinion and i type agree to an extent but for people thinking of buying the phone (in any scenario) would know what to expect.
this is what forums are about, complete knowledge and growing, its good to know the known flaws

have you thought about calling HTC for a repair?

well ive received the replacement and although everything seems fine like there is no bleed anywhere, but has more gap upto'
seems in good condition, only complain would be that the power button set
is actually flush with the board
pros on replacement : louder/fuller sound -no Ii ght bleed, scrren seems more vivid/pronounced.
cons on replacement - power button and its refurbished phone
pros on original device, reliable
cons on original device, light bleed, alliuminum on left side isnt sunck in
conclusion , not exchanging keeping what i have
