[Q] Need a stock ROM - AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note II

I got my note 2 (I317) from ATT days ago and dropped it while it's naked from my pocket. Now the screen and the corners looks really not nice.
I have flashed it with custom ROM cause it does not support any SMS other than English and Spanish, not even Korean !
I know ATT won't honer the warranty for the 30 days period once they found that and m really regret that I refused to get an insurance for such a device.
I have the stock recovery but triangle away cannot set flash counter to 1 as the ROM is not stock.
Anyone could help me out I will honer rewards

Did I make myself ? Hope you could help me.

Sounds like you will need a stock Odin Image.
You can try flashing stock rooted odex rom but I am not so sure that will help.
IM sure someone will get a odin tar soon. Why do you want to send it back to AT&T if you damaged it?
They wont take it back with physical damage will they?

I assume it's within the 30 days period and they will at let me return it (damages are not that obvious) for a $35 restocking fee. They case I bought there is not really helping again any damage and the flip cover is silly in my onion (hard to use with one hand)
I just hope someone would be making the tar within the next 25 days.
Can I try flashinging your stock ROM with the Model.zip I have using the CWM recovery ?

So if flash counter is set to 1 that means you can still qualify for warrenty repair?

No you cannot. Even if they helped you replace for the first one, they will found it and void your warranty on their end. Unless you gave them a real brick so they cannot response before force it into download mode.
Even if you flash your device (any device from ATT) a Samsung Stock ROM will void the warranty. Chainfire's triangle away can only set the counter to 0 and reset the statue to Official when you have the stock recovery and stock ROM. Meaning you can have your warranty back if you stay on the stock ROM.

Help, I have snow!

So I wanted to root my phone. I followed the instructions etc on galaxynote2root.com and everything went well. Then a few minutes later my phone went to the downloading do not turn off target page by itself. I took the battery out and tried to reboot. Now all i get is a page that can only be described as snow. I tried to use odin to unroot the phone and I get no PIT partition.
Someone please help!?
You need to get back into download mode and reinstall fresh or a backup. If you can't do that chances are you'll have to send it in somewhere to be reflashed.

i can get into download mode. i tried using odin with the stock rom from samsung and thats when i get 'there is not PIT partition'
How did u root your note 2? i guess you have missed an important step check again
what ut note2 version ? how u root it ? what rom version u were running ?
GT-N7100 on stock rom
so I took it to a samsung service centre today. They put it in download mode and saw 'system status custom'. They said they will not touch it and will send it back to samsung but it will cost me £120 as the warranty is voided. I'm sure I have read on here that even unrooted phones can say custom and not official, is this right?

No. If you failed rooting your phone, then your warranty is void. You can try to use triangle away, so it will change your counter to 0. But I'm not sure if in that case it's going to change your status to "not touched".
Things you can try:
1.Get stock rom. (Look in Dr.Ketans topic)
2.Flash it
3.If you need .pit file. Use google to find it.(Remember that you have to get the right version!)
4.If your phone works fine.
5.Enjoy!
No! You're in the EU, presumably, so you have in fact not automatically voided warranty.
I don't have a link here right now, but Google and search these forums for info about the EU directive that you can take to the service center. There is a thread about it in the note 2 forums. Basically, they have to prove that rooting is the direct cause for malfunction, which is practically impossible, to have your warranty voided.
Having said that, I'm not exactly sure on your case, seeing how you lost Pit, they might be able to see that and prove that your rooting and tinkering was the cause, but I doubt it.

[Q] Qualcomm secureboot: Enabled -- warranty void?

I need to send in my s3 for repair and it's still under warranty. However, it was rooted but I unrooted it and I reset the flash counter. In download mode, it says "Qualcomm secureboot: enabled". Is this normal of a typical unrooted s3 phone? WIll samsung know that I rooted my phone (and void my warranty) if I send it in like this?
Sorry if this is a stupid question (I'm still a noob at this kind of stuff).
Thanks

You should be fine if you used triangle away and flashed back to stock using Odin.

Just out of curiosity then why would that message be displayed? If it normally isn't there, then samsung will automatically think I modified the phone in some way wouldn't they?

If you don't have in you recovery mode Warranty Bit 1 or Knox Warranty Void 0x1 no problem, just use Triangle Away and reset flash counter and then wipe factory reset and wipe cache data and that's all.

Damnit, I have Warranty Bit 1, what would happen then?
If the repair centre sees that the warranty is 1, they may fix it, call you with an estimate, or just send it back to you without making any changes or repairs.

When you open up ODIN, make sure you "Run as Administrator" and the Sammy usb drivers are installed, above PDA, theres a box PIT.. click the box and browse to the PIT file on your PC and select it.. it appears in the box next to PIT button, then put a tick in the box Re-Partition, put the ROM in PDA then click Start and off you go.
So far as I know, you only use ODiN for stock roms, plus,. Im pretty sure Stock Roms are All in one PDA file now.
Anyway, hope that helps
Good Luck
Sorry but seems sds.

Looks like SDS. Anyways, have to wait for experts to review it.
By the way, which ROM you were using before this has happened?
As you do not have Custom Binary counter set, I hope you can claim the warranty. So just go ahead in claiming warranty,

The phones with SDS issue will have blank in Product code field as well as the Binary status will be custom.. You shouldn't have any problem in claiming warranty if you have it's bill/invoice/warranty card...
By the way, din't you check the phone before buying? You said that it was like that while buying.. You should have returned it to the previous owner itself.. Incase you do not get warranty, this will cost you huge money to repair as the motherboard replacement is the only solution... Instead of that, its better you put some more money and buy new.

First off all that blank in product code problem i had it, and i buy the phone on the web in second hand, i try to reach the guy who sell me the phone and as it was from expect he didnt had the bill/invoice/warranty card, correct me if im wrong or being dumb, but if they released the phone only in 2012, September, even i buy it on the first day, didn´t past 2 years yet,
i took the phone to they, and they make a couple of questions like if i rooted the phone, i asked them what is rooting (ahahha), and they said, that will give it a see and then call me,
About the possibility of buy a new one, that only cost me 130 pounds, about 154 euros, so it was a nice deal, if they charge me more that 50 euros, wich i think they will i will buy a Jtag Riff box and repair emmc myself, or buy the chip here and solder him myself at home, but if that happens i will spread everywhere that samsung sucks and show my indignation and anger about them.

why did you remove it? I would think that you could either reinstall TWRP and then install the stock rom or flash the stock recovery from Odin through odin. clean rom has built a stock rom that is only missing the Knox items with the addition of root. my understanding is that goo manager would be able to help you with all of the above. Maybe somebody else could verify this?
I cant seem to find the stock rom.
The reason for all the questions, is that I need to get it back to stock, to avoid a possible warranty issue. The real problem is that I can get WiFi to stay on, it keeps going gray confused

Sorry to say this, but you cannot untrip the warranty flag once you have rooted this device. How much this is going to matter for your warranty claim is not yet known.
You loose your warranty once you flashed twrp.

Your software warranty is null and void. You will have to pay out of pocket to fix it. When you boot into download mode, no matter what you flash now, it will say "Warranty bit 1", which means bye bye warranty.

[Q] Unrooting and returning note 4

Hi guys after a week of testing note 4 I'm returning my Note 4 and getting Note 3 back biggest dealbraker is the Sprint Spark no voice and data at the same time.
My question is how do i unroot it so there is no super U or TWRP I'm using the stock rom that came with the phone I just want to do the factory reset and return the phone. The ppl that will take the phone back will not even know hot to get to recovery I expect. How do I get rid of the TWRP recovery?
To anyone out there considering the switch from 3 to 4 Don't Do It! its not worth it unless you just got money.
Thanks!
anyone that does not see the different between the 4 and the 3 must not understand much. Sayin'
The N4 is the best phone I have ever owned. I have used all the HTC Android phones and also most of the Samsung phones, including all the Note series.
In one of the root threads, there is a stock tar file to run via odin and your back to stock unroot.
Many should not assume and research the device before purchase. As it may have been a dealbreaker for you and others. Many have also known this prior to purchasing phone. And still paid to have one. Personal preference. .........

Yes, use odin and do a factory reset from the stock recovery after a successful install

will this reset Knox? I heard that's once you have flashed the hardware is permanently changed, although I don't know if this is just reflected in the binary flag as showing 'custom'.
I"m wondering whether you can get warranty service or return a phone once you have rooted if you can't undo Knox. ?

This will not reset knox, but it will get you back to official unrooted with factory recovery. I've personally had a rooted phone serviced at a corporate sprint center with no issue's. But some places care whole others don't, hope this helps.

As far as my store goes, we don't check to see if it was rooted or not as long as you're within the 14 day return policy and there aren't any damages to the phone.

I messed up and installed the Tmobile TWRP by mistake. Now my phone won't write to my ExtSD card. I want to go back to 'out-of-the-box' status and start over. Do I just need to Odin/flash the Stock-NIE-trltespr-recovery.tar file from the shabbypenguin site you listed, to go back to stock recovery, no root status?
Thanks

In a word... YES! When you go back to stock, re-root, install the right recovery... If you still have write to external SD card issues, search "sd fix" here on XDA, run it and you'll be good to go.... Hope this helps...

I completely agree, it's by far the best!! I went from a LONG list of HTC's --> Note 2 --> Note 3 --> Note 4. Im shocked everytime I hear/read someone say that Note 3 --> Note 4 isn't much of an upgrade. They both have a 5.7" display, and a similar overall size, but that's where the similarities end. Note 4 is an absolute beast and destroys every other phone that's available!
