Good question! In case you are on a custom ROM, I have a link for the latest H3G RUU
Just relock bootloader, fastboot, connect to pc and run RUU
Of course nobody knows. It's not even available to unbranded Euro handsets yet

Really feel for you, I just got my email response from 3UK when asked when Jellybean will be available; "We do not have the updated version, it will be released at some point."
Just come from LG optimus 2x and all that saga over ics, moved to a htc one x hoping to be treated better lol only to find yet another ****ty company when it comes to customer support. Very dissapointed to say the least.
Bought the phone unlocked, alas it is still tied to 3 via CID :crying: was hoping this could be altered. Dead end there too.
All the best.
Carrier's are a pile of w#nk with updates. That is all.........
Did you try to read the thread, which is almost on top all the time, regarding JellyBean for HOX?

I do really feel for you too.
You are complaning from the update speed of a company, and you're switching to the other one, which has the biggest software package added on to Android, and you are expecting to get updates quickly.
I do, really do.
Actually Three UK were the first network to release both 1.28 and 2.17. They skipped 1.29 entirely due to radio issues. The main problem was the communication with the customer, it was terrible.
I tweeted them a few weeks back and they said they had the update in testing. But that could have been the bugged version that they didn't release globally.

I'm hearing of some unbranded UK Desires receiving an OTA update to Gingerbread, has anyone else seen this? Nothing on mine yet, and since it's unbranded I imagine it's not a staggered rollout.
Anyone know what's going on, or are my sources false?
I've not heard anything to maybe a fail. I guess if you find HTC's RUU then it will be rolling out soon. About now is when it's rolling out so maybe so.
Well after some checking I can confirm that a desire, possibly on TMob got a system update a couple days ago, but can't confirm whether it was 2.3 or just a pre update of some sort, also not sure if the desire is branded or not.
unfortunately the phone is a work phone that my friend doesn't have currently so can't get any more details at this moment.
Nothing here. Unbranded handset :-(

HTC Official Update
I received the following email today from HTC Customer Care in response to a question as to when they will fix the widely reported Google leak (potential security flaw in Android).
In regards to your last response, in order to to get the security update when it is being issued, you have to have a base of the 2.3 Gingerbread update on your handset, in which case will be released this summer for devices such as HTC Desire.
Currently we do not have a specific date as to when the 2.3 will be released for other handsets as at this time the update is only being issued to HTC Desire HD and HTC Incredible S.
summer? geeez... I thought it was going to be anytime soon this month... Bit fed up of waiting...

Check my sig. I can't say I noticed something actually does not work, which I can say for some other roms people swore are rock stable, but it drains battery and there is obvious lag especially with alternative launchers and animations. That said, I can cope with some lag, but I can't cope with memory leaks, bootloops, ads etc.
So you can't just yet say it is as it is meant to be, but it comes to that this actually works. Not extra smooth, but it does.

Thank you for contacting HTC tech support. We are dedicated in providing you the best quality service and answering your questions and concerns.
Let me begin by stating that the information you got about we not releasing the latest version of Android for the HTC one V is not truth. (Can you let us know where from did you get the information?)
We understand that, you need information on the availability of Android v4.1 'Jellybean' with Sense version on HTC One V device. In this regard, we would like to inform you that, we're looking forward to providing our HTC One X and HTC One S and HTC One V customers with Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) along with our latest version of HTC Sense. As with any software upgrade, we work closely with our carrier partners to ensure we deliver the best experience possible on our devices. After internal testing, we test the software on live networks in order to confirm the experience matches our expectations, and carrier expectations, for performance, connectivity and platform stability. While testing takes time, we're working quickly with our carrier partners to rollout these updates. We will provide information on availability once the software is ready for release.

Hello,
The Hungarian support office just told me that it won't get 4.1 update, so I would say this needs to be verified.
Russian support
Russian support in November, I was told that Android 4.1 will not be! only patch for errors.
I talked to HTC USA to file a dissatisfaction complaint about the ONE V not getting Jelly Bean and essentially being EOL after only 7 months on the market; and they confirmed at that time it wouldn't be getting it.
So...the wait starts. **** yeah!

Your definition of supported might include new android releases, but I don't think "support" necessarily imply free OS upgrades...

That's exactly what they did to the Desire about a year after it was released. We got an update from 2.1 to 2.2 and that was the end of that. Kept being promised an update for 2.3 for a couple of months both by HTC and my provider, 3 Network and in the end they ditched it and the entire Desire platform. Which brought me to root my phone and install Cm7 on it and try out a whole host of other roms

Sense 4+ come in about 18 months of sensation Launch and here we are with 3.6, no update until now.
idk
i dont even think if its coming to htc one x, i dont think so because the jellybean didnt roll out to the other one series as well, only on the one x so i really dont know
The HTC One X is a flagship device, I bet it will continue to be developed for the foreseeable future.
Sent from my HTC One X
Usually htc will upgrade previous flagship device with their newer os but with different sense. Just like the evo 3d and sensation that upgraded to ics but with sense 3.6 unlike one x that comes along with sense 4.0. So maybe we'll get sense 4.6 rather than sense 5?

I fall in love with the new sense 5, but I'm thinking to buy a one x in order to wait for a lower price of the new one...
I already have htc sensation, the flagship of two years ago that don't received the sense 4 when htc one x and one s was released, and I'm pretty sure that one x won't receive the official sense 5.. maybe it will be update to android 4.2 and a light "sense 4.5", but nothing else in my opinion! I don't know if I should buy this device and use it for the next 7-8 months.. I'm so unsettled, I don't like tegra 3 cpu... Any one thinks that one x will have sense 5 rom ported from one? I know, it's too early, but I should take a decision in a short time!
I am pretty sure that the devs around here will be able to get it ported.

its the international version (thank god) but if its international do i need a specific version to flash roms because back in the sensation forums, they were all the same.
If it's carrier branded, it somewhat restricts rom flashing capabilities.
Otherwise the international versions should be all the same regarding ROM flashing.

An almost certain way to know it is to download cid getter from market and look at the cid. If the cid is something like tmob__xxx or vodap__xxx then it's branded.
Also branded phones often have special carrier apps and/or boot animation.
I doubt it being branded if it's from hong kong.

Don't do it. There are more developer friendly phones available and that means that the people with this phone are often so grateful that they don't question the predicament we're in. We have no official working CyanogenMod build at all. In fact we only have a slightly dated Paranoid Android and a fantastic AOSP build (thanks PabX).
This phone is far from liberated and with developers of the mindset that they won't try until kernel sources of which they have no ETA are released, it's not looking like we'll see freedom any time soon. Don't get me wrong, I'm grateful to said developers, they've already done much more than I could've, but I feel it's only fair to give you some context as to what you'd be getting in to.
That said, this is the prettiest phone of its generation.

It can run on our phones fine but the issue is nvidia.
This article is about US version, ONE XL, but we won't get it either (I think).
But surely they have to support the One X+ as that is still under or around 18 months old, in which case it shouldn't take much to port it to ours.
With the excellent devs we have on here it would turn up quicker than HTC porting it to ours as well.
