[Q] SMS text message time stamp off by 1 hour - AT&T, Rogers, Bell, Telus Samsung Galaxy S III

Since the daylight savings time change yesterday, sms text messages I receive are time stamped 1 hour earlier than they should be. Sent SMS time stamps are correct and all other time stamps on the phone are correct.
I have a unlocked Telus SGS3 and I am using it on Fido.
The phone is not rooted and it is running the stock rom that was upgraded OTA.
My Galaxy S3: Model: SGH-I747M Android: 4.04 Baseband: I747MVLLH1 Build Number: IMM76D.I747MVLALH1
Anyone else with this issue?

Update - 2012-11-05_Mon-11.38-AM:
I installed Handcent SMS(for Android) and it doesn't have this issue. Odd.
~=-=-=-=-=-=~

Yeah, been having the same issue but it seems to be intermittent. I have a Bell SGS3 using on Rogers.

Fido ~= Rogers
YES I am having the same problem, I live in Edmonton at (UTC - 6) before DST ended, now it's (UTC - 7). It seems that since I use carrier timestamp for my SMS timing, Rogers fell back 2 hours yesterday.
WTF anyone know a fix?

EDIT: duplicate copy

I am in the same boat. I have a Galaxy Note, and since this morning all my timestamps on received messages are behind by an hour.
Even if I send the message to myself! I have had multiple people send me messages, and they are all wonky and off by an hour. What to do? I can't have a conversation properly right now with this screw up!

This happened to me on Sprint one time in the states. Use go sms or Handcent until they get the issue fixed. You can change a setting to make it use the time of when it was received not sent.

I'm having the same issue too!..
I'm using an unlocked Bell on Fido network..

I have an unlocked Bell Samsung s3 on Fido not rooted and I had the same problem.
I called Fido's technician and told him I had problems with the network, that my incoming text messages had the wrong time stamp since this weekend's time change. He asked me to take out the battery and the Sim card, then he did his magic. After putting back the battery and the Sim card, he sent me a text message to test it out. I'm now getting the right time stamp for my text messages
I hope this helps.

It seems that Rogers fixed their timestamp today, at around 2PM here in Edmonton, Mountain Time.

SMS timestamps are off

Strangest thing - since I upgraded to newest CyanogenMod a month ago, all my incoming text messages have timestamp one hour behind my telephone time (and timestamp on my sent messages).
What is this?
Your phone time is off. The timestamp is based on carrier time. Change your time to a few minutes or so off to get it back right. At least, that's what I did.
I am not using carrier's time. I am using software that syncs it with atomic clock every 12 hours. I don't see how this could cause a problem.
And it didn't on previous version of CyanoGenMod.

Are you in the UK? It's not something to do with BST is it? I'm just thinking that if your time zone isn't taking this into account, there'd be a spare hour somewhere...
Yes, I am in the UK.
The strange thing is, that my own messages have correct time. It's only the incoming ones that are behind.
Hmm, it looks like it's not that uncommon - there's an app in the market called "SMS Time Fix" which addresses your exact problem. Unfortunately, it doesn't say why it happens, but apparently it fixes it. Half a solution I know, but maybe better than none?
Thanks for the tip. Hope it works.

[Q] Losing Some Text Messages

Hey guys, hopefully I'm not the only one with this issue, though it seems pretty strange. I can receive most texts fine, but from 2 of my friends (as far as I know, maybe more) I only get every second or third text they send to me. This has been happening for the last few months. What these friends seem to have in common is that they both have AT&T and iPhones (one has a 4S, one a 3Gs, both with iOs5). They haven't experienced this issue with anyone else, so I'm assuming the problem is on my end, be it Sprint or my Epic.
Anyone have any idea how to resolve this issue? If it helps, I use Handcent for messaging (although the missing texts don't show up in Stock Messaging either), and rooted running EI22 modem, MarcusantROM v2 MTD with Samurai RONIN5 kernel.
You KNOW our phones are too good to talk to iphones...LOL!
My guess is a down tower near them that is causing this. My work phone is an AT&T and all of a sudden getting "call failed" in lots of areas.
Thanks for the reply, but the issue seems to be happening too often and in too many places (DC, Northern Virginia, Southern Virginia, and South Carolina) to be a faulty tower. And also, it only seems to happen when texting my phone and no one else.
jin, do a prl and profile update on your phone. then power phone off, leave it for about 2 mins. turn back on, and then wait for about 2mins to completely bootup with sprint network, then tell them to text you again, 3x ... see what happens.

it's sound more like a "switch" issue.

I tried the above, even took the battery out when powered off for ~5 minutes, but am still not receiving some texts.
send yourself some texts...see what happens..
I can send and receive texts from myself, it's just these 2 pesky AT&T folk..
it's on their end. if you can receive messages on your end, than it's for sure on their end.
I had a similar issue, I was connected with Google voice and using go SMS. Some people only received every other text or singing like that and one friend was texting me all day yesterday and I never got it but she got mine. I seemed to have asked the issue by disabling Google voice completely. I didn't want to since I liked the features, but it's they only thing I child do to make it work.

in regards to google voice.. google is actually working on major improvements regarding google voice.. they know there are major delays with messaging and other things, but they are working on it.

Hmm I used google voice for a little while half a year ago but then deactivated it (the integration with sprint at least, I still use it for international calls). I doubt that has something to do with the problem for me.

[Q] Cant receive SMS on International Note2

Hey guys, i bought the international Note 2 and i'm using it on AT&T about 2 days after getting the phone i stopped getting SMS, I can send them but i cannot receive them. I swapped a sim in the AT&T store and it worked. 3 days later same problem and now getting a new sim didn't help. I can receive MMS and send MMS or SMS, I just cant receive regular SMS messages. Does anyone have any clue what the problem might be? Thank you in advance.
If you use different languages, make sure you set the coding of SMS to Unicode in the settings menu of SMS.
Other than that, check if you have this message center number: +13123149810
If still not working, someone else needs to chime in
Check your APN settings, settings->more setting -> Mobile Networks->Access Point Names.
Make sure these are setup correctly I wouldn't just rely on the phone gathering these automatically.
Are you on the stock ROM or have you flashed a custome ROM?
If you have flashed a custom ROM I would suggest doing a full wipe and re-test.
If that doesn't work I'll look at getting a new phone.
Hey man dont worry about that. My friend has a galaxy s3 international and had the same problem. It has nothing to do with setting or differents roms. It att issues. What he did was call att, after a couple of days the phone began to receive sms then again tue same problem. He called again and i am not sure what they did but after 24 hours the problem was solved. So just call them and see man.
Good luck

So does anyone have any insight on this topic or a solution? I have done a factory reset twice and even called At&T with no resolution. My phone was working great till a few days ago.

I have an international Note 2, also on AT&T. Post your APN settings and I'll compare it with mine to see what is the difference.
I'm having the exact same issue again. First time, I did a hard reset, and it resolved the issue. I don't feel like doing that again, so i'm on the phone with AT&T right now and we'll see what they say.
so... AT&T cannot determine why this is happening. I took my sim card out of my phone and put it in another AT&T branded phone (the GN2 is my work phone), and once I did, all text messages I missed came into my phone. I swapped the Sim cards back, and now it works as intended, and I'm receiving text messages again. The tech is calling Samsung now to see if they can offer any assistance.
Seems like whatever the issue is was resolved when I swapped phones. I figure it'll work for a week or so, as it did last time, and then will stop and I'll have to swap Sims again to perform a quick fix.
any Telecommunication guru's out there have any idea?

[Q] galaxy s3 JB SMS issue

Hey all. I am updated to the new JB update on my galaxy s3 i747 on SaskTel. And i have had a few issues with receiving sms. I am getting all my messages, but some received texts have the wrong time stamp and are ordered incorrectly. I sometimes ask a question, and when they reply to that question, it will appear before my sent text, with a time difference of a few minutes. Anyone know what could be causing this, or how i can fix it? it is rather annoying. thanks!
Same problem here. Same phone with Jelly Bean on SaskTel.
Example:
I send my brother asking a question. My brother replies but his message shows above my message, appearing like he sent his answer before I sent the question. Really frustrating.
Those time stamps are provided by the network, so there's not much you can do to address it.
My brother has a SGS2 on the same network and the same conversation is in order on his phone.

Just a thought - do you have the messaging app set to use sent timestamps or received timestamps? It's possible only one or the other of those is wrong.

[Q] SMS/MMS not sending or receiving

Details:
Phone: Google galaxy nexus (the one before the nexus 4)
Android: Google stock 4.2.2 reinstalled with nexus tool kit after I updated to 4.3 and had multiple issues
Carrier: Straight Talk with an at&t sim
I just noticed yesterday that my text messages sms and mms was not sending or receiving but my phone shows that an sms message it sent but the target does not receive it. I an able to make and receive phone calls and data does work with wifi off. I have checked my apn several times and created a new one a few time to no avail. I have deleted all text threads and still did not work and finally I have factory rest my phone twice creating my apn before restoring and tried sending a text it says it sent but it is never recived. I have looked through many pages on xda-developers and on google and I have found nothing like my problem. any help will be appreciated thanks.
Additional information:
OK so I forgot to say that after reinstalling android 4.2.2 everything was working good. and I am using handcent as my messaging app and I have disabled the native messaging app. I have tried deleting handcent and use the native and the problem did not go away.
Update 2:
I found a thread that someone had the same issues that I'm having and what they had to do was change their smsc number and when I go to do that to mine it already has the right number in it.
