three days ago My phone fell on the ground and from then till now it is like it has 256 color depth. I tried reset, official and unofficial rom (Arco ICS). but the problem seems to be from hardware because even in download mod and in recovery mod the 265 color problem is there. here is a photo of problem:

Ok last night I disassembled my phone using this and
this threads. and reassembled it and the problem is fixed. i think it was from LCD socket. I just posted it in case someone would have same problem later.

-3 weeks ago a had the first problem with my display: it was gone and when i tried to reset the screen was almost un-alignable. only after a lot of resets it worked again!
-now since yesterday my screen stopped working. All the other functions work like phone etc., but I only see the backlight of the screen and nothing else. I tried to reset, hard-reset and took the whole artemis apart. Only saw a little black spot on the displayconnector (can it overheat?!)
When trying to reset for a hundred times it worked three times! I was able to do a hard-reset with screen, but that's it.
-Another thing I notice is that when I try to charge my artemis it takes longer then normal for the orange charging-light to light-up. Also after 10-15 seconds it starts to blink in stead of constant-lighting-up.
I'm running Artemis touch 4.02 with battery status on 201 mhz (was running 247 mhz until hard reset yesterday). Radiorom: 3.21.90. Accesoires: sandisk 8gb sdhc.
Who can help??? Will fitting a new display do the job?
What a coincidence, my screen also stopped functioning yesterday for several hours and I was forced to use mouse mode, until it just started working again but needed to be aligned several times over 20mins of use.
Today, same problem. It comes and goes, needs constant realigning...
I'll be doing some surgery again when I get home tomorrow, dunno about black spots yet.
I've just replaced the digitizer on it and I suspect a contact has come loose on the back of the LCD (I hope!).
Anybody else have any ideas?
so you think it's a problem of the display, rather then the main board or something like that? because I don't get a view on the display at all, only backlight.
I'm doubting on buying a new screen for about 40 US dollar. Would be sore if that didn't solve the problem.
p.s. took the artemis apart again yesterday: saw a minor damage on the display's connector. If that can cause all this, then a new screen would be the solution I think. But how does the connector get damaged???

Did you buy just the digitizer or the whole screen?
I think by buying the cheapest digitizer I could find is where I went wrong, looks like I'm shopping for another one...
Hi, I have a HTC Desire for 8 months and everything was working well.
But yesterday something went wrong with the display : it's like there is a bright filter on the screen. Then it get worse during the day : there was lines nearly everywhere but all horizontal and it was hard to see something on the phone (but everything working well I took control from my laptop and the only problem is the display). This morning, the screen was flashing, and sometimes all black so unusable. And now it's like yesterday morning, everything is bright (see the file attahed).
The phone felt a couple of times during his life, but nothing is broken cause I have a case to protect it. The last fall was two weeks ago so I don't understand.
So I looked for it on the forum but I'm not really sure : I heard about a Digitizer. Is it my problem ? Where can I buy something like this to replace it ? Is there another solution ?

So i've been a Defy owner for months now and have been recently switching through custom ROMs from JB3 to CM7 to MIUI. ive never had any problem with the handset until last few weeks.
on CM7 - charged it overnight because i fell asleep then when i woke up the screen was ghosting typing, dialing, launching apps and sliding through home pages on my phone Factory reset, soft / hard reset did not do much, flashed my original SBF ghosting was still there but not that bad then after a day a deadspot on my screen. here's a layout. on MIUI - charged it again this time it was only around 80% charged i plugged it out because someone was calling me. BUT, i CANT hear the other person so i tested it for a day and sad to say it was an earpiece problem
so my question is.. what may have caused it? changing ROMS? hardware?
have anyone of you experienced this before?
or is there something wrong with the wiring that may have caused the short circuit to other components in the Phone.
i really need to have your inputs on this since im planning to get it repaired in a week its still under warranty.

Last month my NExus 7 2013 32 GB (wifi) had stopped working - it just freezed and after reboot got very hot and stopped at google logo. After one week of fighting , going through the depths of internet: xda, google & other sites I`ve decided to replace motherboard as it seems the emmc 32 gb memory got broken by itself. I`ve received new motherboard (with 16 GB emmc this time as it was 40USD instead of 80USD for 32 gb version) and installed correctly with a little help of ifixit teardown and youtubes.
It booted fine, all the buttons are working, but now I got this strange touch issue: the digitizer dont recognise my touch in a certain part of the screen - I`d say its 3mm wide line a little down from the top of the screen when in portrait mode.
I tought I did something wrong when putting parts together so I replaced new ribbons which came with new motherboard for the old ribbons from old motherboard. No luck here - this didnt resolve the problem. I also did install multi-touch-fix I came up here on xda some years ago (boot-ts12-lock.img worked for me fine). This also didnt change anything.
When I was replacing the motherboard I did it very carefully and I`m sure I didnt break anything - also I`m sure that before my old motherboard went down, the touch was working very well.
If anybody knows what I could do to save my little precious nexus from throwing to garbage, please help.
I`ve attached a screenshot from touch tester for all of You to see what I mean. Please note that some minor touch registered on this non-working part of screen are most probably some ghost touch as when I move my finger over that part of the screen it doesnt record anything.

I'm here to report a sad thing that is happening to me. I'll try to keep it short.
I bought my Zenfone 2 64/4 and got it by first days of october. It's one of the best and fastest phones I've ever used. I noticed the display came defective with the lower left corner a little dimmer than the rest of it, but I couldn't care less because increasing brightness would solve my problem. The bad part was on about december or january when I dropped my phone, I did drop it twice: it slipped from my hands the first time but it was a light fall of like 30 cm; and the second was from greater height and so intense it got scratches on the back cover and the frame, (the impact was on the case and it got no scratches, none at all, like ZERO) but the screen remained intact.
After that second fall, maybe a couple of weeks later, I started to notice a weird color "seeping" and some vertical lines. The screen tarted to look like a painting on a canvas which got splashed with water and the colors started to "fall" and merge with the ones below.
I've been living with my screen like that for like 4 months now and no problem at all, I was thinking about buying a new lcd replacement. But wanyway.... now for the important part.

Now, after I opened my phone and tried to "connect" the loose cables from the screen (after an impact, it's possible the cables to ge loose), noticed that the screen didn't get better and that problem was not going to disappear. After a failed attempt to repair it, I sealed the phone again and some days passed (like less than 4). Suddenly, I notice weird glitches on the screen and uninstalled CyanogenMod 13 and reverted back to ZenUI, since I though CM 13 was causing the graphic glitches. After restoring ZenUI, I notice the glitches are still present and it's driving me crazy. It only happens on a certain portion of the screen, the top of it is working correctly. Aaaaand, to feed my paranoia, I've seen picture on Google of dead graphics cards and those weird glitches are similar to mine

Flash the black splashscreen zip through whichever recovery you use first in case you still have the white asus splash screen indicating your bootloader is unlocked. Try and flash stock rom on your phone and remove root through Supersu app after this and hope they don't check if your bootloader is unlocked as that's what counts. Take it back to the shop. All the best

Actually, I don't have an USA address. ASUS loves USA but not México nor South America. Bad luck for me.
