Manuel update 4.1 jelly bean help - AT&T, Rogers, Bell, Telus Samsung Galaxy S III

Is there a way to Manuely update jelly bean? All the ones I find are for sprint
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using xda app-developers app

You can flash yourself a custom rom. They have plenty of stable ones out now including a stock touch wiz port. But to answer your question no. The update rolls out whenever the carrier feels like it. Rumors say it won't happen until next year so I suggest rooting and flashing if u want jelly bean

Drew garen for complete touch wiz experience. Any of the others one s for more custom ROM feel
AT&T SGS3 Marble White
Team AoCP The Collective ROM
KT747 10/31 OC'ed & UV'ed
Medical MJ Supporter

To carry that thought, Drew's Serenity is the Note 2 port which runs great but has been a little battery intense. Otherwise AOKP and CyanogenMod 10 are both really stable now. Best thing is to back up once you root, then just play with each ROM for a couple days each and make sure all the features and apps of the phone you use are working.

I'm on Josh's JellyBean Jelly Bomb 4.1 (based off LIH) and it's amazing! All of the JB leaks are going to have some bugs! LIH, I believe, has a few more fixes than LIF. Josh's earlier JB versions (v1.0 and 2.0, I think) use a compilation of LIF, LIG, and LIH. It's a matter of preference for some! If you're unsure, try them all out! (But be sure to Nandroid first!)

I would recommend starting with the LIH version of the jb leaked ROM. You can get a nice taste of JB with a familiar interface. If you don't like it, flash back to LI3 and wait for the OTA. If you do like it (and you will), then you can experience a new interface with Jellybomb or some other ROMs based on LIH or you may prefer the standard TW interface and stick with LIH for a while. Either way enjoy your phone. I am having a ball with it. Here is the thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1910947

I am rocking LIH Jelly Bean leak. It suffers from overheating, but I don't use the phone that much. So I appreciate extra smoothness of operation.

Same here, FreeGS3 was the first and last ROM I've flashed . I tend to stay away from AOKP and AOSP builds since they sometimes have jitters and instability problems... I'm picky lmao
Might switch to Warm when it's out or switch between the two..

I'm rocking the latest stock jellybean leak until some good jellybean touchwiz roms come out. Although i miss a few aosp features, i don't think I'll ever leave touchwiz. I started liking it on the S2 and i think I've fallen in love with it on the S3.

Why would you recommend a rom that's not meant for our phone(sprint)? Flashing a rom not meant for our phone can cause serious problems.

There are so many good ones. You really just need to take some time and flash a few. I was on Slim ROM with my cappie and again with my s3. Have been using Task650 and Ktoonsez AOKP and am really enjoying it.
Task & ktoonez AOKP is the way to go
Best rom around
Sent from my toaster
Task AOKP is extremely popular, and I must agree it's a great rom. I like CM10 and AOKP the most, but in actuality it all comes down to preference. I suggest you try them out for yourself.
Task and ktoonsez aokp is the best Imo. It's getting really polished these days as well.

Can't go wrong with Task650's AOKP project. I've tried out most of the other jelly bean ROMs here and his is head and shoulders above the rest. A word to the wise - by all means enjoy his work but read the original post at the start of the thread and always remember - the search feature here on XDA is your best friend.
Intergalatic , stock, stable 18hrs 3 hrs screen time and EVERYTHING works.

I'm a CM10 fanatic, have tried out a lot of other ROMs and always come back to it. Just went stable and 4.2 should be coming soon! Can't go wrong.

Which rom would you recommend with stock touchwiz?

I personally have a htc EVO 4G LTE but I recently rooted my friends s3. I need some opinions on which rom I should flash for him, He just wants good battery life and performance. I skimmed through the threads but I'm having a hard time choosing. I flashed the serenity 1.2 for him but he doesn't like it after weeks using it... Thank you in advance!

AT&T SGS3 Marble White

Ariel by Nottach. He has the best one out my opinion. Very very stable. Great battery life and barely any bugs if any. A ton of tweaks too that keep the ROM flying.

If he likes stock Touchwiz, you might also consider staying with stock ROM and flashing KT747 kernel by ktoonzes. It has a lot of tweaks and changes for performance and battery life.
It can be found in original development.

Sorry but Tlyhis was over 4 years ago. If it's not in this thread I don't have a clue.
I use the stock touchwiz ROM with stock kernel and root. I get good battery life, I only have to charge it once a day (twice if I use it . I also use the geenify app which helps too.

What is the BEST stable ROM? For a beginner

all roms will have SOME bugs on them, even stock ones. I suggest trying a few 4.04 touchwiz based ones such as KOODO or JK, and moving from there to a AOSP based 4.1 or 4.2 rom or a 4.12 leak.

CM10.0 Stable - I find it smoother and faster compared to Touchwiz roms.
I say go to jedi mind trick or jedi jelly. Both are extremely smooth and stable.
Cyanogenmod 10 was my first ROM and I think it's pretty easy to install and use. Recently I started using PACman and it's pretty easy to use too. Just make sure you know what you're doing before you start romming!
I liked aokp because of all of the features it offered but the battery life on my tmobile galaxy s2 was not the greatest. i'm currently rocking sons of android build 2, from the maker of the jedi roms.

Embryo 6-8, just awesome my favorite to date, another one I liked was JMT but that was ICS 4.0.3, it ran great but I felt that I downgraded since my stock ROM was 4.0.4. Others I tried were AOKP 4.2.2 M1 B5, just too AOSP looking for my taste, had random crashes, Jedi Jelly this one just stuck on booting.
So:
#1 Embryo 6-8, overclocked to 1.78 using samsung governer
#2 Stock 4.0.4 Koodo
#3 JMT
