Which rom would you recommend with stock touchwiz? - AT&T, Rogers, Bell, Telus Samsung Galaxy S III

I personally have a htc EVO 4G LTE but I recently rooted my friends s3. I need some opinions on which rom I should flash for him, He just wants good battery life and performance. I skimmed through the threads but I'm having a hard time choosing. I flashed the serenity 1.2 for him but he doesn't like it after weeks using it... Thank you in advance!

Try Triune 2. I get amazing battery life and seems to be very smooth:good:

Drew garens is the closest to touch wiz in my opinion
AT&T SGS3 Marble White
Liquid Smooth RC8 ROM
KT747 Kernel OC'ed & UV'ed
Medical Marijuana Supporter

Ariel by Nottach. He has the best one out my opinion. Very very stable. Great battery life and barely any bugs if any. A ton of tweaks too that keep the ROM flying.

If he likes stock Touchwiz, you might also consider staying with stock ROM and flashing KT747 kernel by ktoonzes. It has a lot of tweaks and changes for performance and battery life.
It can be found in original development.

Sorry but Tlyhis was over 4 years ago. If it's not in this thread I don't have a clue.

I use the stock touchwiz ROM with stock kernel and root. I get good battery life, I only have to charge it once a day (twice if I use it . I also use the geenify app which helps too.

[Q] Kernel recomendations

Just got my i747 from AT&T. It is rooted and I am running the stock rom.
Which kernels work with the stock rom?
Is there a battery icon that will work with the stock rom?
Thanks in advance for the suggestions.
Well I've been running KTooz Kernel........works well but on day 2, I can't say I've experienced better battery stats........
Not YET..........I'm hopeful. I used teh app it comes with and dropped the CPU to 1050, and dropped each of hte voltages
by 120mv..........we'll see.

[Q] Recommendations for updating my Epic 4G

Hi All,
I'm looking to update my phone with a new ROM/OS. I've rooted before and believe I currently have a MIDNIGHT ROM loaded (see attached phone screen-shot). I see references to CM9 and CM10, ICS/JB. I think i know the processes, ODIN, etc.... I'd just like to be pointed to the most stable, current files.
Thanks in advance.
If you want the most stable and best for the Epic 4G and coming from Midnight you may want to stick with one of the FC09 Toichwiz ROMs. If you are more adventurous and don't mind an AOSP ROM then CM9 is Ice Cream Sandwich for this phone. There are still a few bugs in CM10 and the Jellybean variants.

TPR is a great stable ROM. Great battery life, all the toggles, smoothness tweaks, etc. I went to it after CleanGB and even gave the included Zeam Launcher a whirl. Try it out. You won't be disappointed. I got the flashing bug after a couple months and have tried AOKP M6, CM9, then went back to TPR. Now I've gone to CM10, but may yet go back to TPR for the stability and great battery life.
Edit---
Be sure to Odin or flash the FC09 modem.

I agree with the TPR comments BUT if you want that AOSP variant and stable with great battery life go to CM7. BATTERY life is the KEY to my statement/point of view.

Thank you my friend. Which modem are you running? There are different schools of thought on modems. I always just go with latest official after the problems with the leaked modems. But whatever gives you beat speed and signal for you.

Frankly, I can't say for sure if FC09 is any better than earlier versions, but I have always had good luck running the latest official released modem. If you're comfortable using Odin, changing modems is easy and not particularly risky. There are CWM flashable versions of the modems, but that involves flashing a modded kernel, flashing the modem, then reflashing your intended kernel. To be honest, I think Odin is safer and simpler for modems.

Same here, FreeGS3 was the first and last ROM I've flashed . I tend to stay away from AOKP and AOSP builds since they sometimes have jitters and instability problems... I'm picky lmao

Good Kernels For Stock Rooted

I just bought the SIII on Thursday and have been in the EVO line for awhile now and don't really know what devs to keep an eye on... I am looking for a good Kernel that will allow me to clock, volt and if possible w/ sbc! Any and all suggestions are welcome as I will probably try them all... Also are there any stable ROMS that I should take a look at as well?
Sent from my SPH-L710 using xda app-developers app
Freegs3 that's honestly all you need no need for underclocking or anything with the cpu the rom is fast stable I haven't been found a bug yet it has a ton of support ton of people willing to answer your questions and you will get 13+hours of battery with a few minor adjustments

Its the name of the ROM. Its by freeza. I consider freeza a dev to keep ur eye on.
As far as the kernel goes, if your on stock(or any touchwiz rom) your choices are limited but the best kernel for battery life is the stock kernel anyway.

Jamal717 - So, you like the Freegs3 ROM? I haven't tried it yet...I'm not a Sonic fan...I'm concerned Sonic pics would be themed within the ROM. (Are they?) Maybe I should give it a try, though. So far, I have flashed:

2. JB Goodness, v4.0 (Fav so far)
3. Frankenstein KilLJoy, v1.0 (Current ROM...enjoying it)

i'm on freegs3. i didn't want a themed rom full of tweaks and stuff that don't benefit me, that's why i went with his. it has auto update capability, and the few tweaks that are included you can choose to install or not during the install process. the only sega themed item is the boot animation, which you can change if you want very easily, he gives a list in the thread. check it out, it's definitely more stable than my stock rom was, it was crashing every 5 minutes. this is great.
