i picked meself up a used,s-off HOX. popped in my cut down t mobile sim,and edge was working fine. the phone was running 1.28 hboot and a JB custom rom(OrDroidX?).
for S&Gs i flashed the european 2.17.401.2 RUU. voila,no data,no APNs,no sim card found, yet voice and text worked fine. as with the other instances i found, saving the APN it just disapears.
all point to "use an older sim card" wich i am.
restored hboot 1.28 and the rom it was running, and edge is back again.
anyone have any thots on this?
guess ill need to flash some roms and run some different RUUs to try and figure it out

Ok I installed Froyo but now when my phone boots I keep getting the message "Process system is not responding". So I decided to format my sd card and boot it up again. Still got the message. So I tried Factory Reset. When I booted up again it hadn't reset anything and I still get the error.
I was on 2.1 stock wwe rom not rooted.
How can this be fixed as my phone now doesnt work correctly.
Is there an ruu of froyo available anwhere?
Ok I rebooted into recovery and cleared storage. My phone booted but this time it actually did clear storage but now I'm still getting the error message.
Just too add aswell. My phone Keeps rebooting every 10 minutes now.
Sounds like the same problem that I am having.
Also on upgrade from the WWE unrooted version of 2.1 and on Orange.
Not looking good atm
Same problem here...

Just out of curiosity, did you have your 2.1 setup to keep a backup of your settings?
Because I'm pretty sure thats where my problem lies. But if you didn't have that option enabled it can't be that.
I didnt think Orange were pushing out Froyo updates just yet?
Any1 Know if we can Downgrade?
Same problem here, mine is a debranded unrooted Desire on O2. I also can't connect to the mobile network or WIFI.

Dont forget to use goldcard while updating previously branded phones
I didnt use my gold card while installing the OTA update and now i have the same problem, it reboots every 5 minutes or so, no wifi or mobile connection. Previously on o2 and just unbranded with HTC stock rom prior to update.
Any ideas how I can go back and reinstall, or get it to work?! I tried putting the goldcard in and restarting but that makes no difference.
My storage card isnt recognised either so not sure i can try and force the 1.21 WWE back on over USB...
got exactly the same problem as you lot. never used a goldcard so im assuming it was that. will wait till i get home and then try and force the 1.21 WWE back on with my goldcard and then see if OTA works with goldcard. till 7pm i have a suck in a loop resetting Bricked desire
Same problem on debranded vodaphone.
Doesnt appear to recognise my sim but miraculously i have recieved a call.
Doesnt recognise my storage card.
Reboots every few minutes.
I debranded my phone using a gold card even though i wasnt 100% sure that it was branded. Then flashed WWE ROM.
HELP!!!
Noob question, but why do we need to use a goldcard to perform updates on a previously branded device? I thought once we unbranded our device our phone was standard?
I downgrade by putting my goldcard in and rebooted phone holding volume down key and selected fastboot then ran the 2.1 RUU.exe and it worked. So now im gonna try the ota again with goldcard inserted and I'll let you know what happens.
got the same problem, just bought this phone few days ago and updated it like an hour ago. i bought it debranded. any help?
Desire HD - Orange Branded (GSM)
Recently rooted, downgraded ROM to stock 1.35 and since doing so the SIM is no longer detected.
Installed multiple ROMS (including official) which has not resolved the problem - completed a Radio update to 26.04.02.17, still not cured.
Any suggestions/solutions I'd be grateful to hear...
Additionally if anyone believes this could have been caused by an IMEI corruption - any way to fix without returning the phone?
Just to note also the following settings are enabled and I've not yet tried a reversal: Radio S-OFF, SuperCID & SimUnlock
SIM works ok in Galaxy Tab
You may want to try putting a different SIM in your phone to see if it is detected. If it is, then maybe there's something with your current one that causes incompatibility.
Also, have you tried removing the battery to do a "cold" boot?

Hi, sometimes SIM does not sit properly in the SIM holder in DHD itself. So make sure that your SIM is properly inserted and see if that helps.
Did you flash RADIO properly? I mean were there any errors?
MonsieurD - thank you for your reply.
A cold boot - would this be booting the phone whilst USB is connected with the battery removed?

sphuyal - thank you also for your prompt reply.
I did not receive any errors whilst flashing the radio, would you suggest trying a previous radio to the current one in use? If so can you point me in the right direction to a website.
Furthermore - what I have noted from reading other forums etc. is that perhaps I should flash the radio first prior to flashing ROM to ensure compatability any views on this would be great.

Well flashing radio after installing custom roms would not be a problem. Which ROM you are using and what is the version of the radio? (if you flashed the one the dev mentioned in his thread then it is ok).
This is a brilliant guide on flashing radio: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=896597
Did you try taking out your sim and putting it back in? Sometimes reboot helps...
I've followed the information provided here:
wiki.cyanogenmod.com/index.php?title=HTC_Desire_HD:_Full_Update_Guide
Radio Version: 26.04.02.17
1.32.405.6 Firmware
Tried taking out the SIM and reinserting with no joy.
I'm going to try your previous link tonight and will keep you updated along the way.
I followed your guide. Radio flash initially failed, after disabling Eng-OFF it was successful with no errors.
The SIM however is still not being detected - if this was to be a problem due to rooting do you believe its reversible and furthermore me using Z4Root could this be the problem?

I've since established inserting the SIM the correct way around helps drastically!
Hello.
Im trying to SIM Unlock a friends One M8. I've done everything i believe i need to be able to sim unlock it using this guide:
http://www.sieempi.eu/blog/2011/09/22/universal-sim-unlock-for-s-offed-htc-devices-536
And this one
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2708567
I've gotten S-off, super cid, and installed a recovery. But when following the guide in the first link and tapping Sim-lock in the hboot menu i get the messages as you can see in the screenshot ( where you can also see im s-off and with super cid), pressing Vol up seems to do something and reboot the phone, but the device still seems sim locked, as it is showing a "Limited service" when other branded sim cards have been inserted.
Can some of you guys help me out, from what i might have missed ?
EDIT: I figured out that if i downgraded my HBOOT to 3.16 it seems that the sim unlock is partially removed. I now get signal, and data working, but when trying to make any calls i get a "OUT OF SERVICE AREA" message.
Still struggling with this. I've heard that its dependent on my H-boot version, but i'm not sure if mine is the right version or not
OUT OF SERVICE AREA message when trying to call
Hello
Im having some trouble with a mates M8. When he tries to make any calls, he gets a OUT OF SERVICE AREA message and the call is disconnected. If i try to call him, it reaches voicemail. Data on his phone is working fine, and he has strong signal.
Reboot has been tried as well as a factory reset. He is running on stock rom, but the device has S-OFF, and unlocked boot loader.
Can you help us ?

Try downgrading all the firmware files (not just hboot) and even an old ROM; as the radio in particular may be hindering the SIM unlock.
But also be aware that playing with hboot and radio is slightly risky. One of the few ways to really brick the phone.

I have installed a bundle through hboot with a 0P6BIMG.zip file.. This seems to have downgraded everything to the oldest firmware. It is running 1.54 now with Android 4.4.2 and a baseband version of 1.16. Still no luck

Ahh, too bad. I know HTC has made multiple changes over time (including hardware changes) to plug the firewater s-off exploit. Maybe they made some hardware change to plug the SIM unlock method as well?
I have an AT&T M8 that I have been using on Rogers network. It was SIM unlocked by flashing a config.dat file a while, it has S-off and I was running the vanilla HTC ROM on it because I liked HTC sense.
I decided to update to Marshmallow and flashed the SkyDragon ROM on it. It worked beautifully and my Rogers SIM card works fine. However, trying to use an AT&T SIM card (while in Canada as I want to activate it as I've done with other GoPhone SIMs), I'm not able to get any signal. I am somtimes able to search for a network (sometimes the option is greyed out) but when I clicked on Rogers, it just says "Operation Not Allowed".
It looks like the config.dat method has been patched
H-BOOT version is 3.19
Did I lose my SIM unlock?
How can I get it back - downgrade? Going to GPE ROM? Am I screwed?
Why does my phone work with Rogers and not AT&T as it was originally an AT&T phone?

Did you just flash the Skydragon ROM to "update" of did you flash firmware.zip or RUU also?
Did you try to just go back to the previous ROM?
I just flashed the Skydragon ROM, I didn't mess around with a RUU or anything.
Do you think going back will resolve the issue? Can HBOOT even be downgraded?

Flashing a ROM doesn't touch hboot.
I'm not familiar with the SIM unlock hack you described. But if the only thing that has changed is the ROM, then yes, going back (especially if you made a TWRP nandroid backup you can restore, before flashing Skydragon) should restore it.
Hi,
I have an HTC One M8 Verizon and here's the specification below:
*** UNLOCKED ***
M8_WLV PVT SHIP S-OFF
CID - SuperCID
MID - 0P6B11000
HBOOT - 3.19.0.0000
RADIO - 1.14.20.0930
When I first got this phone, my sim card wasn't working and I did everything to make it work but unfortunately, it couldn't and I couldn't even open the phone information from *#*#4636#*#* to change network type and radio band. I also updated the firmware to 6.0 and bought Sunshine for bootloader unlocking and S-Off and still, it didn't worked out. So after I rooted my phone, SuperCID-ed, changed my MID and flashed TWRP, I decided to flash S-Team M8 SL-Version and made an access to *#*#4636#*#* but still the same.
After a long days of using my M8 in Wifi-mode, I decided to give a nougat rom a try. I first flashed the Resurrection Remix rom it went successful and something went beyond my expectation. I went to the phone information and changed the network type and radio band, surprisingly, my M8 detected my sim card and I could use it on LTE mode without a hitch until two nights ago when I left my phone for a few minutes and when I went back, my M8 shows that I don't have a sim card. For a whole night, I tried to fix my M8 and as a result, no miracles happened until now.
Here's what I did to fix my M8 but no success:
1) Clean flashed the rom but no sim card detection with sim card
2) Changed the rom to LineageOS 14.1 and clean flashed but no sim card detection with sim card
3) I removed the sim card from my M8 and changed back to RR
Here's what I observed, every time I am going to click the cellular networks setting, this dialog appears "com.android.phone has stopped".
So I decided to flash LineageOS 14.1 again without sim card and went to cellular networks setting, it still shows FC dialog.
And I flashed LineageOS 14.1 again but with sim card and went back to celllular networks setting and it's still the same.
Now, I went back to RR with sim card on and it's still the same.
What should I do next? I am running out of option but I can provide logs if you need it.
I also used thread search engine to help me but it didn't.
Thanks for the understanding.
