Now look, I know Cricket is considered a joke carrier around XDA, (really? Boost is easily a bigger joke.) But I manage a Cricket branch here in Madison, WI and my work phone happens to be a One V..
I am NOT an ignorant Cricket using XDA noob, but I am wondering why the PrimoC roms are not booting on my Cricket One V, considering it's the EXACT same phone as the Virgin Mobile model. I get boot animations, but the rom never loads. Not boot loops either, just stays on the boot animation.
Ideas? Explanations? I would really appreciate it. Thanks.
Which roms are you using, and what kernels are you flashing with them? Remember, kernels need to be flashed in fastboot, and some need the zip flashed in recovery to make Wi-Fi work. From what you said, it sounds like you don't have right kernel.
i had cricKet for a while.... had a score... not the greatest phone experence.. Lol
pop into IRC!
I'll try some different kernels.. thanks.
And yes, the Score is a terrible phone.
I've tried PA, CM10, AOKP, and MIUI.. none boot.
Well, I flashed sickkernel_jb_102812 and got CM10 to boot. Now I'm just left with bad graphical tearing on the launcher and SD storage is broken. So that's a step I guess. I'll try some different roms.

Try the latest SickKernel & a recent CM/AOSP ROM.
Ok so I flashed AOKP and it does not tear at the launcher. The only issue now seems to be SD card. When I go to storage, settings FCs. I am using sickkernel.
i am running jmz's evevol rom with very few glitches. the only problem i had was the mms not working. it happened to be the apn file. jmz fixed me up with a patch kit for this and it all works fine. i did try to use pacman rom and had some graphics issues, aokp would not go past boot screen for me, but i have not hadd too much trouble. cricket htc one v

That's one of the problems I got on the PACman ROM, sucked pretty bad I used that portion frequently.
Also, cricKet ain't that bad, here in Houston it's the best carrier in terms of reception.

yeah, cricket isnt a joke around here. i know down in savannah ga (when i visited there 2 years ago) cricket seemed to be the carrier everyone had. i felt out of place with my boost mobile lol.
also the graphical errors and such seem to have gotten much better with newer releases of supersick kernel. the 12-30 kernel has been the best one i have used yet, i still see the errors sometimes but the phone seems uber responsive.

Ok, so we have here a Gingerbread ROM (AOSP + cm7 vendor/device code + zinx's kernel), with just a few tiny changes. I did this mainly to see if I could, but if people want me to add or change things, I welcome requests. And yes to be clear, THIS IS NOT PURE AOSP. Think of it as an aosp/cm7 mashup, looks like aosp, but cm is running the show. This uses the same kernel that all the CM7 builds do, as nothing else wanted to boot. (props to zinx) As usual, I am not responsible for your dog getting pregnant, your phone exploding in your ear, or your own stupidity. Flash at your own risk.
Added:
- Black messaging app
- Reboot and recovery options in shutdown menu
What works:
Wifi
Bluetooth should work (although my headset is f'd, cannot test)
CRT screen-off animation
New nexus and microbes live wallpapers (microbes seems to act up sometimes)
Video calling works, at least in Tango, haven't tried anything else yet.
What doesn't work (that I know of):
Wifi Calling
Trackpad/Menu wake (although if you press trackpad then Home quickly it will wake)
USB and Wifi tethering
The usual 2.3 camera issues: FFC pics are upside-down, and aspect ratio is screwed up on recorded videos.
Let me know if there are any other problems.

Cool let me know how you like the ROM. I'm very anxious to throw GB on my MT4G
Well it looks good. But it also looks just like the one shiftedx had up yesterday. Hope it doesn't cause any problems.

The one shiftedx had up was almost identical to jaywan's rom. This one is basically aosp with zinx's cm7 kernel.

Thanks, The only thing I have noticed is the first time the file for Gapps was only 7 MB then I downloaded it again and it was 14 MB.
However one thing I have noticed is with this ROM my apps are not automatically installing after I sync with google. I just tried again with cm7alpha and they installed ok. Any idea why? Or am I the only one?
hmm not sure. Have you tried a different gapps version? If theres a better one I'll update it

I'm not used to the auto downloading of apps, so I didn't think to try to include that. I will try to work on it tomorrow, its late.

Yeah I'm not sure why the gapps would change size at all unless it was just a bad download. It shows as 14mb for me.

My phone is always shutting itself off or randomly rebooting. The most it has ever gone without a reboot is 3 days and lately thats a stretch. I am running phantom hackers blazer rom. Is this just something that you go through when rooted? I love this phone but i hate goin to use it and see that its off. Sometimes i consider getting rid of this thing and goin with an iphone because of how stable they are. My bro has an iphone and it is pure rock solid!
Sent from my SPH-D710 using XDA App
I can go Weeks without a reboot. Running try the ROM in my sig. Make sure you do a clean install, using the flash all script. Don't use TB until you are stable. After that you will be golden.

So you think its the rom and not my phone? I will say it never rebooted before i rooted it. I do LOVE this phone and would hate to get rid of it i just get soo mad when it reboots. Not something you should expect from a 500+ dollar device..
Sent from my SPH-D710 using XDA App
Yes, I think it is software related. Only time I ever get a random reboot is from something software related being off. Could be ROM, kernel, theme, just about any thing. That's why you want to start fresh. Caulks ROM is dead solid stable.
Sent from my SPH-D710 using Tapatalk
rbtrucking -- are you undervolted? The only time I've had any stability/reboot problems with this phone were when I was a little too aggressive with the undervolt (or overclocked to 1.7ghz ). I'm on calk's 2.8.1 with steadyhawkin's gunslinger kernel btw.
Phones the most reliable I've ever had now that the los is gone. I undervolt mine considerably. I have 3 other friends with thus phone 2 of them not rooted. The stocks have more issues then rooted ones I swear with reboot hot reboots freezing..getting sticky on transitions . Each phone just handles each Rom a lily different....YMMV

Nope I am not undervolting or overclocking at all. I leave the cpu settings alone as I find the phone to be plenty fast and overclocking can drastically decrease the life of a cpu especially without proper cooling. I have heard nothing but amazing things about calkulins roms though maybe I will give it a try. Anyone else having any issues like mine on Phantom Hackers Blazer rom?

Ya I actually already had an sd card go bad on me and had to remove it because my phone would literally reboot every 10 minutes and sometimes I would have to pull the battery out for a little while to get it to go back on. The sd card was really really old though, came with my original evo. Since removing the sd card the reboots are allot less frequent but they still do occur but usually no more than once a day sometimes every couple days.
In 3 months I had one reboot...

Well all I can say is I flashed calkulins rom with the pure honey theme and this **** is HOT!! I really never knew using titanium backup that you dont lose ANYTHING! For some reason I always thought it just backs up apps! Had I known this I would have been flashing new roms allot more frequently though I love this one soo much I will definitely be sticking with it for some time. Lets just hope it runs stable on my phone! So far no complaints but it has only been about 10 minutes! Thank you for recommending this rom!

Since day one my phone reboots on average 2 times a day and overheats and/or shuts off at least once a wk. For me, it's not software related as I have tried every rom.
Today it just started a new thing where it will boot up (go through the animation) and then the screen will go dark to where I can't do anything. Right before it goes dark, the animation will freeze. I am able to get into the recovery though, and have wiped the cache and dalvik.

Alright, I was wondering, I've been having some problems lately with the CM10 roms, and I switched back to the stock unrooted rom.
My problem was it was disconnecting me from the server every once in a while, had to reboot to reset the connection, now even when on the stock rom it does this, is this a Bell Mobility problem? Or a phone problem? I see I had to create a new APN with the Bell settings, but I really dont know why!
I was wondering, is this a network problem? Or a phone problem? I've had my phone for about a 1.5months and just the past couple days that it does this to me!
Thanks,
JP
I'm on Bell.
If it happens on stock ROM it's either hardware issue or Bell is having problems.
Yeah network connection is only good... 98% of the time in my experience with AOSP Rom's (including CM10). Sometimes it stops working altogether and I have to toggle flight mode a few times. I must have flashed AOSP Rom's about 50-60 times and each and every single time I have gotten literally double the latency I get on TW rom's regardless of which Modem I use. Other people do not seem to be having this issue, just people with Bell.

I recommend Task650's AOKP ROM.
But be aware all non touchwiz ROM's have some bugs currently. But they are smoother and faster, that's why I use them.
If you are looking for a TW rom, I have been using this one since it came out and don't have any serious issues with it.

Yah. But it works. And if you chk a lot of the roms, they're built on AT&T base and they also work fine on a Bell device.
My biggest issue (for me at least) with AOSP, AOKP and CM10 roms is that voice mail notification doesn't work. It's been a known issue for some time but it hasn't been fixed yet. I should qualify by saying I haven't run every single rom out there but anything built off CM10 seems to have this issue on Bell devices.

Hi,
My GN was fine when I purchased it a month ago, brand new, but its so sluggish that its almost unusable. Phone dialer, Messaging and almost all apps load with a 3-5 second delay, even the keyboard opens after a few seconds.
I'm on stock 4.2.1 (deodexed) and even flashed fugumod kernel just today hoping it would fix things, I even factory reset it but no joy.
Could it be a hardware issue? is there any way I could run some quick tests to see whats wrong?
A similar thing happened to me when I decided to try a new kernel I've never used before, and it did not agree with my phone. Try a different kernel like lean kernel or Franco kernel and see if it still happens. If so, go back to stock.

Have you used up almost of your memory in the sd card? I don't know if GN's are affected by eMMC bug brick. I've asked this before but they said GN is not affected. It has something to do with a bad chip.

I've installed CM10 on my HTC One V, sometimes my phone is very, very slow.
Free memory is about 110mb after boot; after a while it stays between 40 and 50mb. That should not be a problem, right?
Further have I deinstalled a bunch of apps, but at some point the device is not responsive anymore. Opening Android Assistant (app) is not working then too, so I cannot determine what is causing the issues. Waiting for a while sometimes solves the problem, otherwise I have to reboot.
How can I determine the cause of these issues? 50-60 mb RAM is that a problem?
I have overclocked the device to 1.7GHz without problems (no reboots etc.)
I had performance problems with CM10 builds as well. I'm assuming it was just an early build issue... but since that ROM isn't going to be getting updates, I've been trying out alternatives.
