I installed jb-kfire-hashcode-10-10 and gapps-jb20121011-signed. It all works great so thanks so much. What I have noticed is that I do not know if my apps are getting updates. On my stock ICS GS3 I usually get daily notifications of app updates. I my KF i haven't gotten any notifications for updates. Do they update automatically or not at all with this build.
Thanks.

I get update notices. Did you check if they are just turned off in the play store?

They are on but I don't get them. I have to go look at installed apps to see what needs to be updated. I get a notice that a app was updated after i complete the update.

If you haven't been enjoying Netflix with one of the modified apps, go get the official release. DInc2 is now supported and available in the Android Market!

I did the patch workaround to get Netflix working on my dINc2...should I delete the Netflix app I have installed and install the one in the market or will they both be the same?
Should I revert back to before I applied the patch?

I installed the official Netflix app from the Market and I still get the white screen.
No playback on Incredible 2... also, on the netflix website it does require "activation" for Netflix ready devices?
It says "Follow the instructions on your device to get an activation code.
Your computer and device must both be connected to the Internet to activate."
i too am getting the dreaded white screen
Afternoon Netflix Update
Nextflix posted another app update to the market this afternoon. (build now matches the release in the description.)
Updated the app opened it up, and....I am now watching Netflix on Stock 2.3 Dinc2.
We now have Netflix!
I uninstalled the hacked version and installed the official and video quality seems to have degraded significantly. Backed to blue Netflix for me.

Video quality seems fine to me. Official app doesn't have full video rotation though
Yeah, rotation would be nice, but not a deal-breaker. I'll keep an eye on the mod thread for that version. It's just nice to be able to start catching up on Archer while away from home
Just got around to installing the official app. No more white screen works great for me.

After updating today the new version working for me also.

OK every time i try this I'm getting Installation error Package file was not signed correctly. Is this because I am rooted?? I got it to install just fine on my g-tab but the inc2 is giving me a hard time!! Any ideas?
I'm rooted on cm7 and it installs fine for me so I doubt its from rooting. Now, it might be dependent on the rom you're using.

I'm now using JB but the update still download the entire apk instead of only the changes.. Or am I missing something?
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2
Dunno if they've started that yet. And I don't think that's JB specific iirc. Thought I remember it being 2.3 and above. Its all handled on Google's end.

Sounds like it is enabled on all apps by default on anything 2.3 and up:
For Android devices with the Google Play, we launched the following at Google I/O today:
Smart app updates: For Android 2.3, Gingerbread devices and up, when there is a new version of an app in Google Play, only the parts of the app that changed are downloaded to users’ devices. On average, a smart app update is a third the size of a full apk update. This means your users save bandwidth and battery and the best part? You don’t have to do a thing. This is automatically enabled for all apps downloaded from Google Play.

No. No release date. My best guess is that it will coincide with the actual release of JB later this month.

Apparently Sprint has released a non Jelly Bean update. I have been trying to get my phone to update but its not showing it. I have tried the Google Framework clear data and force stop and also restarting but no luck. How am I suppose to get the update?

It's not a Jelly Bean update. It's another ICS update.
And you'll get it when your phone's selected to receive it.
Hi,
There is an update for the Play Store: ANDROID POLICE
Apparently no major changes...
THANKS!
Hi,

Re,
Weird, I have it on my HTC Sensation running ICS, on my Galaxy Nexus, but nothing on My Nexus 4 even after clearing cache and data for the Play Store and Google Services Framework then reboot...
So for those who have the update, something interesting in this update?
I just shared the info, but I think I'll do a manual update finally
But hey it doesn't matter...
Oooops sorry for the double post.

I see no changes, AP said under the hood stuff, My update came after an update on the score app.
Hello everyone,
First off I'd like to point out I am a noob when it comes to kindle rooting/flashing but have experience rooting mobile devices and most recently the Razr Maxx so I have some basic knowledge but not enough to figure out what my kindle is running. I recently bought a used Kindle Fire 1st gen and I have just realized that it is or has been rooted at some point and time . Here are a few things I can offer the experts to try and help me figure out where to start to find out what I'm running, etc.
- Looks like its running stock not a custom ROM. I see nothing to be related to Android System, no Google play market or android anywhere in the device settings
- The system version under device tab shows 6.3.1_user_7 digit number (option to "update your kindle" is greyed out)
- When I power on the Kindle the boot logo shows the words Kindle in white and FIRE in blue. At the bottom of the screen it says "press power button for boot options"
-When I hold the power button down the boot options are: Normal/Recovery/Reset Boot Mode
-In Recovery it shows that its running TWRP V 2.1.1
-I have had a error message that says "The process android.process.media has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again" pop up at random times
Before I figured out it had been flashed/rooted at some point and time, I went to the device options and factory reset to default because the previous owner left some apps and games on it, not sure if that was a good or bad thing to do I do not see any Superuser App or anything that would be a giveaway that it has root. To the best of my knowledge it's been functioning properly other than the forceclose issue I mentioned above.
Hopefully someone can help me figure out what this thing is running if anything and what i should update and what exactly a rooted Kindle allows me to do as the thought had not even crossed my mind about it being able to get root.. Thanks in advance for any and all help.
This is running stock with the custom bootloader and recovery

Im sorry but what does Side load mean? Never have heard that one on the mobile side of the forum sorry for the dumb question.
What are the perks of having a flashed ROM on a Kindle other than the customization part of it?

means find an apk online and put it on your sd card and manually install it.
benefits range from faster overall, to being able to get more apps

Ah OK, thanks for the clarification. Do they improve battery life like with mobile ROMs? I've noticed the battery life isn't that great on this kindle.
In regards to the get more apps part do you mean by being able to get apks to install manually vs what's available in the Amazon store?

Can you recommend a good stable ROM? I don't plan on flashing over and over again as this kindle will go to my daughter.
