That depends if you have custom recovery installed or not. If you do there is an option to make a nandroid backup under backups and storage.

You are stock. Are you rooted? Do you know how to root?
Edit: I read in other thread that you think you are rooted. Can you download root checker from play store and verify?

Now you find one of the "rogue" kernels. Look for el29 rogue kernel. After getting that kernel you need to use odin. That kernel is a zip. So we need a tar version of the el26 kernel. That one is by chris41g. You load up the drivers for this phone(setting up samsung kies is easiest.). Then you download odin 1.85. Install and open it. In the pda slot put the el26 kernel. Do not touch anything else. Click start. By the way should have said this earlier. Once odin is installed turn your phone off. Push and hold volume down and powerbutton simultaneously then keep holding until you see a warning in green.push volume up. Now you are in download mode. Connect your phone via usb. You should see the first box in odin pop up with a number. If not do not proceed. It does not matter what numbers are in the box as long as there is a number. Now put the el26.tar into ghe pda slot. Then press start. Once done, push and hold volume up until you get to recovery then let go. Now use the volumes to scroll to backup and restore. Click it then backup. This is only taking a system image. If you want the contents of your as card backed up you need to transfer those files to your computer.

Not sure how it happened...well I do know....Flashed offical CWM for ROM Manager, but didnt think it took because it said I need a CWM compatible kernel. And then i used E4gtauto to add CWM-rogue because i didnt think I had it....so today when i booted into recovery from ROM toolbox, it went to CWM, did a nand and rebooted, but it booted into Rogue...? How can I get rid of one of them?
The nand you restored had a kernel with rogue on it. You should only have rogue on there now.
And I don't know if others feel this way, but I always only use the built in reboot menu or volume and power buttons(from off state) to go into recoveries and download mode, reduces issues

CWM. The one that came with chris's EL26 kernal i think. I'm using the Blu Kuban ROM now though. Does that change the recovery? I tried volume down 5 times and power twice but it didn't do it.
I can't recall if this works in CWM or not but do a search for Android Screencast. It will output your screen to your computer through a USB cable connection. At worst you can use it to do a Titanium backup of your apps and data at least and wipe the phone if needed.
I'm on cyanogenmod 10 beta 3 and wanted to go back to AOKP Milestone 6 but I'm having problems with superuser (and therefore cant use mobile odin) so I was wondering if I could just restore my nandroid back to EL26 via the JB recovery mode and then flash the aokp ROM through that recovery like normal? Or would that not work/brick my phone?

Hey, quick question.I'm just trying to do some reading about safety and such, and came across your post. Wouldn't it be safe to JUST Odin EL26 CWM alone? Without going back to EL29 first? Is that necessary? Again, not being a smartass and trying to call you out, I'm just really trying to get a hold on what is safe, or not, and procedures.

Exactly. That's the problem I'm having, which is why I'm asking if (since i dont have a pc to use) It would be smart and safe to just restore my nandroid (which is el26 with root and cwm) from the JB recovery (cwm6) and then just flash my original ROM through el26 cwm.
Anyone think this is safe?

It sounds safe, both are quoted as being safe recoveries. I even restored a nand from a broken phone onto my replacement one yesterday so I'm sure what you're doing is far less risky. Its the wiping in non-safe recoveries that caused bricks, you should be OK as long as you don't do something stupid like pull the battery during the restore.

Someone else told me that even while restoring a nandroid backup, it still wipes data, so if you're on an unsafe kernel, it still can brick. Just so everyone knows, I was on a safe kernel when I bricked mine. Apparently there was a mis-merge that happened that caused the safe kernel to be unsafe for a few days. I was very unlucky, but its one of the risks we all take when doing this. I'm planning on odin-ing el26 kernel whenever I need recovery from here on out!

Hey guys,
I'm here to make a nice and clean write up of how to Root your Galaxy S2 Epic 4G Touch on Android 4.0.4 FH13. Before any flaming begins, I know there are tutorials already out there as well as videos by the famous QBKing77, however, I find it easier to learn something or to do something when the steps are written out nice and neatly for me. So I will do the same for you BTW, I will attach QBKing77's video below.
DISCLAIMER: I am in no way responsible for damage caused to your phone during this process or after! You are voiding your warranty and are Flashing/Rooting at your own risk! If you PM me saying your phone is bricked and expect me to do something about it..I will kindly laugh and move on!
PLEASE READ THIS BEFORE FLASHING ANYTHING!!: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1525495
Also here are instructions on the Repo on how to gain Root access without flashing the full ROM(Thanks rwilco12): http://rwilco12.androidfilehost.com/HowToRoot.html
Before we begin this process you must assure your Epic's battery is at least 50% charged and that you have your devices Drivers installed(If you are running Windows 7, Windows may automatically search for and download the drivers when you plug it in).
Now click on the link below. Doing so will bring you to another website made by much famous Rwilco12. Thanks to him, we have this method. Now click on the SPH-D710FH13_CL663858_ROOTED_NODATA_OC.EXE and it will begin downloading. Once downloaded, simply make a folder called "EP4GT ROOT"(Name it whatever you want) for example...after you have created a folder and named it, extract the SPH-D710FH13_CL663858_ROOTED_NODATA_OC.EXE to that folder. Once its finished, open the folder...you will see Odin, click on the Odin icon. Once Odin is open, the rest is quite simple. Follow the below steps:
PLEASE MAKE A BACKUP OF ALL YOUR DATA!!!!!!! YOU WILL LOSE ALL DATA IN THIS PROCESS!!!
1) PUT YOUR EPIC TOUCH IN DOWNLOAD MODE(TO DO THIS POWER OFF YOUR PHONE AND PRESS AND HOLD POWER BUTTON AND VOLUME DOWN
2) NOW PLUG YOUR PHONE INTO YOUR PC VIA USB
4) ODIN SHOULD RECOGNIZE YOUR DEVICE BY DISPLAYING "COM" AND SOME NUMBER IN A YELLOW BOX. IF YOU SEE THIS, YOU'RE GOOD, IF NOT, TRY A DIFFERENT CABLE OR RE-INSTALL DRIVERS
5) JUST PRESS START!
6) PLEASE BE PATIENT ABOUT IT, THIS PROCESS MAY TAKE A FEW MINUTES.
7) WHEN ODIN IS DONE, IT WILL REBOOT YOUR PHONE ON ITS OWN.
8) CONGRATS! YOUR PHONE IS ROOTED!
If this written tutorial helped you, please hit that thanks button!

QBKING77 VIDEO:
To install a Custom Recovery, please use the below links and choose the Recovery of your choice.
1) Download the Recovery of your choice from the links below.
2) Open Odin again and click the PDA box and insert the recovery .tar
3) Put your phone into Download Mode and then connect to PC via MicroUSB Cable
5) When you see the YELLOW box that says COM, press start!
6) When it says PASS, you're all set and ready to FLASH some roms!!
Agats custom kernel/recovery:http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1767421(.tar file)
Kuban kernel: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1826190 (.tar file)
ODIN 3.07 : http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1778755
Also OP The FI27 OTA is available. Same steps as FH13 to root. found here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1903252
The reason for having to do this is because Samsung made it such a way that the Custom Recovery is "baked" into the Kernel, so when we root this device, in order to get a custom recovery, you need to also install a custom kernel...via Odin
Was waiting for this! Thanks.

I agree about TWRP. Boyh are great in their own right, but I prefer TWRP by a longshot! Even has a built in file manager!
Don't worry, we were all nervous our first times!!
Seriously though, only took a few min and I was hooked!
On your problem, does cwm see both int and ext sdcards?
If it comes to it, connect to pc over usb and adb pull both /system and /data. Also internal sd.
At least you'll have some sort of backup and then id suggest odin flashing stock firmware.
Good luck!
