As of now I am running liquid smooth with Franco and tw add on. I'm pretty sure the battery life is worse than straight stock and not sure if it's due to Rom, kernel, or add on. Normally which influences battery life more?
Also, I've been searching but haven't found anything as far as a Rom with tw cooked in? Does one exist? The reason I ask is because I prefer the tw style, layout, and colors. The black and blue of most nexus roms/themes just bores me.

Hello everybody, just a quick question...im not sure if themes would work on strongsteve's ROM?
Sent from my SPH-D710 using xda premium
Im on strongsteves also. Its stable. I love it.
Anyway, yup! Looking for a theme yall! Do we have one!
Themes won't work on strongsteve's from because its odexed. You could theme it to your liking but it would have to be manual the way he did it. (I don't know how to yet but ill be learning). Personally I love the blue plus the from is so fast and super stable. 0 force closes or hat reboots. HIGHLY recommended. =D

There are no themes for the Rom, since its odexed...
Argh! Beat me to it, lol

....unless, of course you're using a different launcher. You can use themes for that launcher...
Oh ya I run the ROM myself. I always have a nandroid of it ony sdcard.. its honestly one of the best ROMs out there. Love how 99.9% of the ROM is themed the missing .1% goes to misc. Apps SS doesnt use And I love blue as well! But Some days I just feel like seeing something new you know? If only SS could make his ROM but with a .zip that would change the ROMs color.

Use StrongSteve's ROM for its speed and stability. If you'd like to make customizations, you can do it in a variety of ways, including apps like Beautiful Widgets, launchers like GoLauncher, etc.
Notwithstanding, there are some items that you may wish to change that you simply cannot, so if customization is super-important to you, then you should probably try one of the de-odexed ROMs
!!
i agree, strongsteves rom is great. ive tried every rom out there and got force close this and unexpected that...this rom not only looks great but its stable as all get out. and yes,go launcher is the way to go.imo.....i do like the blu kuban though...got a forced close tho... great rom tho
Worth repeating ..I have his last 14 updates. I have never had a reboot, freeze, or force close on any of them. Absolutely fast and stable. If you like blue, give it a try

I see that the darkside rom has the option for both touch and touchless. I was curious if it made a difference other than personal taste, or if one runs better than another.
Yes much slower.

Thank you for clearing it up. Touchless it is!!

I don't think so, stock rom for this phone is actually pretty snappy.
So I don't think it matters that much which one you go with.
I prefer TW myself.
Powered by the SGSII....
Honestly the only thing I noticed was it freed up a lil ram but I could tell a difference in feel. I like TW it looks nice with the 5 icon dock.
I think its more about software optimization & hardware, most high end phones shouldn't struggle at all jumping from apps to menus etc.
Touchwiz is actually a really light overlay. Compared to htc's sense it runs quite fast

This is actually bonestock compared to anything from HTC. Its snappy and fast as anything I've used, I would argue faster...

Touchwiz is a really light launcher. The biggest performance difference you're going to get is gonna be from removing the bloatware.

i tried go launcher, adw luancher and launcher pro. Now i'm back to TW. I realize I like to keep things as simple as possible.

I agree with you 100% touchwiz isn't bad at all especially on a phone like this a performance difference would be hard to notice
From a Galaxy better than yours.
I also prefer TW over all the other launchers. I like mine nice and simple
You can also try the modded TW 4.5 launcher floating around here as well. Still TW but you can adjust more things and have 5 icons in the dock

+ 1 for TouchWiz. I meen you bought a Samsung GS2 = TouchWiz. I have a Sensation with Sense 3.5 and it's Nice, but my GS2 will Smoke it Hands down.
I can say that I didn't care for touchwiz myself...I'm just spoiled using Nexus phones before this with CM7 & CM9 I've got ADW with CM7 on mine. Simple as you can get right there...though trebuchet on CM9 is worlds ahead of ADW...
i dont know exactly what the Touchless version does, but you can just install a third party launcher (i use go launcher ex) and freeze or uninstall Touchwiz launcher in system/app
Touchwiz is AOT more than just the launcher.. its the dialer, contacts, messaging, the status bar, the list keeps going..
A "touchless" rom i would expect to have non of these enhanced apks.
I personally do not think the twiz slows the phone down. if anything it gives it a better apeal to the eye without bogging performance.
So to answer the question.. No it does not slow anything down.
The touchless darkside uses zeam launcher which actually reminds me of tw. Try it out see if you like it... If not go back to tw

i wanted to like zeam... but touchwiz was more responsive. so +1 on touchwiz.
Hey guys
I'm was just wondering which are the main difference between this two roms?
Thanks

Hey i mean they're both great, and everyone has his favs but i like AOKP even more than apex because there exist even more settings to perfectly fit to your sense. Little differences do exist but nothing really groundbreaking(installed launcher, more/less updates... )
Its a hard choice but your cannot make much wrong
i went from apex to aokp and for me aokp is much better with all the customization and updates. The dev for apex is pretty busy and doesnt get a chance to update his rom as much as aokp.
I always liked Gummy for battery life but he is using the 4.0.3. Right now I'm using Axi0m and it's like AOKP but MUCH smoother.
Battery = Gummy
Smoothness = Axi0m
They all pretty much have the same features of AOKP now, which makes AOKP last on my choice list. Axi0m is a 4.0.4 hybrid, which may contribute to the speed. I use scrollable Twitter and Facebook widgets and Axi0m is the only rom that doesn't cause shutter when I give them a hard flick (top to bottom, etc). Just my opinion!
Thanks for responding guys.
I been using Apex for the last week and I had zero reboots, crashes, nada!
Running really smooth with nice tweaks and great battery life.
Time to try AOKP

I'm looking to find just the standard blue ICS battery. If anyone could help me out and point me in the right direction, I would greatly appreciate it.
Uhh, its in freeza's rom, its in bizdady's theme(its a basic theme, just a few apps), its in joshbeach's theme, there is even a thread about battery mods over in the AT&T forums.
Can also grab CM10 and take out their battery images.
Go here. I'm using Blazer Rom 1.7 there's a blue battery in this link and a blue battery in the HTC style. The second one he speaks about has inverted apps bit I can't vouch for it since I haven't used it. Read all the posts in the link below and install is easy.

Just curious what everyone's opinion on inverted gapps(dark background, light text) are. I just flashed Black Bean AOKP and it's taking some getting used to. It feels waaaay different than stock somehow for me.
Inverted for battery life if nothing else. I spend a lot of time in MMS!
I like inverted for the appearance. I've never noticed any increase in battery life, I just like the blacked out look.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda premium
I generally like the look and it helps on battery a little.

I prefer white text on black BG for certain apps(reddit, xda, RSS feeds) due to the way it's laid out. Normal browsing, texting and IMs I really don't care too much for inverted. I already get decent battery out of this thing. A little more wouldn't hurt, but I'm weird like that I guess.
I personally would like to have some inverted and some stock. For example, Gmail should be stock, cuz some emails look really odd and ugly when it has black background, but for something like phone and contracts, it just looks better with black background
