Question regarding strongsteve's ROM - Samsung Epic 4G Touch

Hello everybody, just a quick question...im not sure if themes would work on strongsteve's ROM?
Sent from my SPH-D710 using xda premium

Im on strongsteves also. Its stable. I love it.
Anyway, yup! Looking for a theme yall! Do we have one!

Themes won't work on strongsteve's from because its odexed. You could theme it to your liking but it would have to be manual the way he did it. (I don't know how to yet but ill be learning). Personally I love the blue plus the from is so fast and super stable. 0 force closes or hat reboots. HIGHLY recommended. =D
Sent from my SPH-D710 using xda premium

There are no themes for the Rom, since its odexed...
Argh! Beat me to it, lol
Sent from my SPH-D710 using XDA App

....unless, of course you're using a different launcher. You can use themes for that launcher...

Oh ya I run the ROM myself. I always have a nandroid of it ony sdcard.. its honestly one of the best ROMs out there. Love how 99.9% of the ROM is themed the missing .1% goes to misc. Apps SS doesnt use And I love blue as well! But Some days I just feel like seeing something new you know? If only SS could make his ROM but with a .zip that would change the ROMs color.
Sent from my SPH-D710 using xda premium

Use StrongSteve's ROM for its speed and stability. If you'd like to make customizations, you can do it in a variety of ways, including apps like Beautiful Widgets, launchers like GoLauncher, etc.
Notwithstanding, there are some items that you may wish to change that you simply cannot, so if customization is super-important to you, then you should probably try one of the de-odexed ROMs

!!
i agree, strongsteves rom is great. ive tried every rom out there and got force close this and unexpected that...this rom not only looks great but its stable as all get out. and yes,go launcher is the way to go.imo.....i do like the blu kuban though...got a forced close tho... great rom tho

Worth repeating ..I have his last 14 updates. I have never had a reboot, freeze, or force close on any of them. Absolutely fast and stable. If you like blue, give it a try

Theme for ACS bamboozle (ef02)

Anyone know of any themes that will work with this rom? I tried flashing they're stock theme with the bat mod but it just force closes everything. Looking for some alternatives but there doesn't seem like there's anything...
Sent from my SPH-D700 using XDA Premium App
I was told Dark Horse works. Haven't flashed Bamboozled to test though.
IMO, Bamboozle is one of the best looking out-of-the-box ROMs I have seen yet but I will test some themes later this evening to see if any of them play nice...

Dark Horse theme is the only one from my experience
I was never too big a fan of blue on black lol its does look VERY good though. Bamboozle is the fastest rom I've ever played with. Scored 3400 on quadrant. You should all try it when you get a chance. Will having a different modem screw up flashing another theme? I'm on the eg22 modem. Its a bit weird that flashing the stock theme acs has for bamboozle doesbt work at all for me.

I agree with John Corleone! Bamboozled!! Is one of the best looking roms I was thinking the colors the the blue, grey & black look just like the detroit lions colors & I think marcausant is from the state of michigan? Two thumbs up to him for this rom!

I had maddogin ginger blue with no problems

I tried Dark Horse 2.3.2 and couldn't get it to work (got hung on Sammy screen). QBK77 said some themes may not be compatible with this ROM and it was being looked into.

(THEME)unNamedICS1.0

For all who are still using unNamed rom. Still super stable and has not seen any updates.
My theme consists of all the good stuff pulled from other devs! Credit goes to overstew for most of his images and I believe the battery is from icsdomination. And most of all thanks to playya for helping me and I originally used his theme as a base to work off of.
Just wipe cache/dalvik and flash like you would any other theme

No problem! So you flashed it and everything is good?

something weird just happened, the screen was upside down and the text inverted, a reboot fixed it, i dont have time to research it now, just mentioning it
i do love the new icons, and theme for mms, gmail, and email. i actually flashed a stock dialer that player made for me a while back

Yea I was diagnosis.g that problem last nite. Are you running a battery saver script or under volting? Crt animation off does not like under volting. As soon as I put stock under volt that problem does not happen
Sent from my SPH-D710 using XDA
Also if there is no under volting involved and problem persists. Might have to flash playyas framework rotation fix. Easy.
Which launcher are you running? Touchwiz or third party?
Edit....I'm running calks latest battery saver script with the new first 5 seconds is Max CPU speed and stock undervolt....
Sent from my SPH-D710 using XDA
i am using touchwiz and stock el29, no undervolting

OK if problem still persists. Let me know. I'm trying to make a non Crt version of my theme. That will solve the problem. Also....do you want a no clock version or do you like with clock in the upper right?
Sent from my SPH-D710 using XDA
i do like the clock, if i could change one other thing it would be to use nothing but honeys blue bee for showing when usb was connected, also the notification for email, gmail, and text all seem to be the same
Thanks for your feedback. Ill try and get you a blue bee. LOL. And for the notifications looking the same.....its a ics thing. They like minimal icons. Ill see what I can do for you

[Q/A] Who actually likes Touchwiz?

I mean.. comon it looks terrible especially when I came from the HTC hero G2 which had amazing UI designs and creative customizations (transparent, minimalistic, colors matching beautifully, sometimes complex with lots of beauty)
i cant wait till AOSP comes out and more themes gets developed. I have seen some awesome ones here, few but still special.
But who here likes touchwiz? or dont care about the looks and feel of it?
I don't, but here is some AOKP if you want to give it a shot.

I think it looks and feels ok. But the one thing that stops me from using it is the way folders look and work.. So I just use other launchers and I can still benefit from the good things that touch wiz has
I like my Roms the way I like my women..... Clean and smooth

Coming from Sense, I love touch wiz. Besides, you own wallpapers and stuff make it all look the same in the end to me. Sense felt like it had so many unneeded elements to it
I use and like it.

the TW on the s2 is dull, the s3 TW is much better. Given that some prefer not to flash things, my fav launchers are Apex and Nemus.
I like it. But SG3's Touchwiz is much better
I have the GNote and the Galaxy S2, use touchwiz on both.....I do switch between Nova and touchwiz. I have loved touchwiz since the Samsung vibrant. Don't know I love it and prefer it, I just do.
I hate how people whine about tw launcher. Tw is much more than a launcher. In fact i dont like ANY stock launcher. I always end up putting go launcher or something else over it. But tw is awesome. Slide to call/text, swipe finger on notification bar for brightness, the freaking music player is the best i have ever used. Seriously id prefer tw over any ui, even aosp
Sent from Flip's SGS2
Tw folders arent that good. Adw ex and apex are much better IMHO

I can agree with this on the TW features...they are pretty nice but I do prefer the look of aosp.
I Like It. The Icons Are Simply The Best. Gives The phone a nice look.

I love touchwiz, but I hate the launcher. Mainly because it doesn't rotate.
But All the features in the framework are amazing. The phone book is great. The media players to me work the best of all the company specific, and unlike most framework it allows file sharing without 3rd party apps. Like if I want to send my friend a song.
I think Sense is too heavy, Blur doesn't really add anything but an ugly color scheme (but decent widgets), LG devices actually has a nice framework. But I prefer TW.

I was going to say the exact same thing. The UX launcher from the S3 handles folders a lot better. I actually found myself with way more folders than normal because they worked so much better.
I'll admit I have yet to try any aftermarket launchers, but the I really like the S3 launcher.

i dont mind the look of touchwiz on the s3. it looks smooth and fast, and im so glad that they finally let you customize the dock. but the only thing that really bothers me is ridiculously ugly folders. forces me to have to download apex or go laucher themes. on apex i can put two apps in a folder and it looks so simple and nice. in touchwiz it makes it look like a folder on your windows laptop and doesn't adjust the icons to how many apps are in the folder.
I just started using Apex and am adjusting from GoLauncher EX. That was adjusted from TouchWhiz. Each to their own when it comes to preference. There are some nice features I like about all of them... but so far, GoLauncher appears to be the most versatile when it comes to a customized a launcher as a whole.
My two cents.

themes for jedi roms

Hey guys I'm new to this and I'm currently running the jedi rom, I wanted to know is there specific theme launcher that I need for the jedi.
You dont need any specific launcher at all, it all boils down to preference. I personally like HoloLauncher HD because of how customizable it is. Most people use something like nova luancher, adw or trebuchet.

If you're looking to theme the rom it doesn't use a theme chooser. Just go the the themes section and flash one you like the same way you flashed the rom.
Just got next launcher on my Jedi Master 9 w/ BG theme, and although im still playing around with everything, there is definitely a very unique setup here...
Flashaholics should definitely try this setup as a DD for a few days!
Although Next Launcher is a pretty penny, one thing ive seen, worth almost half that itself, is atleast there is finally a way to get rid of homescreen gridlocks for icons/widgets!! One, can truly customize their phone and when you add in some of the other theme ingredients from a BG or CinHD, etc flash and it all comes out pretty amazing

That's what I was thinking. If the aosp look can be replicated, it'd be awesome. Touch wiz features with aosp eye candy. :what:

At first, no. But I will make it compatible if demand is high enough. I'm using stock as a base.
EDIT: Making progress. If anyone has an AOSP dialer that's already available on MD4, please let me know if I can include it. It'd help speed up completion of this theme.
Hopefully you can make this for MOAR Rom.

Page 2 already, 2 requests! I'm having issues decompiling the stock settings. The M.O.A.R rom will probably be easier to tamper with, since it has a large amount of customization. I'll speak with Rompnit about including this in the newest Morphology. It's definitely best to change my base now rather than later.

Love the theme so far. All it needs is AOSP pulldown and the dialer/contacts from the Shifter182 theme are very AOSP like maybe PM the dev on that to use them in yours
In suggest flashing Shiftr182 theme then flashing this on top of it to get a very close to AOSP look. You keep the contacts and dialer this way
The theme looks awesome, put me down on the list for compatibility with MOAR
Also would you possibly consider making a version with the circle battery?
Sent from my SPH-L710
Umm , you guys know you can make a complete aosp theme for moar using morphology? Just create your own theme and choose ICS blue for almost everything. Includes dialer and pulldown, status bar, batteries, signals, messaging, framework, and toggles...

This theme is different because it's aiming for the pure ICS look. The morphology one, while awesome, doesn't have a true aosp look like this one's aiming for.

no idea what you are talking about, you can make it look exactly like aosp. themed. i have put together complete aosp themes for people using morphology. some apps like calculator and camera, etc. won't get themed, but all framework, systemui, phone, contacts, and messaging will all be themed aosp. just have to know what to pick when running create a custom theme. but you can wait for this theme to come out, i was just trying to help out. personally i hate aosp themes...
