easiest way is to go to at&t and buy a replacement sim card (regular size not mirco-sim) and just pop it into the back of the phone.
Whoa. Hold up I tried to put a regular size rogers SIM in the 28I and it got stuck and I had to use paperclips to remove it. And got stuck with the new micro SIM.
Be very careful when you try this and please let us k ow your results.

its true it will get stuck but using a thin blade (i.e. pocket knife) will get it out no problem. just be sure to slide the sim towards the right side or the phone wont detect the sim card
Nice thx for that.

This thread is asking about replacing the SIM and SD card COVER,
NOT about replacing the sim.

Just put a peice of tape on the end of the sim. Works no problem. Im not sure what this has to do with the sim sd cover though?
Couldn't find a cover, but here is Sony's number 1-866-766-9374

I meant the the top part of the phone that comes off. I'm sorry I didn't know what it's called
Sent from my LT28at using Tapatalk 2
There is the possibility of going to your provider and getting a new SIM (regular) and using the tape method. Rogers charges 22$ for new one.

I don't think you guys are getting it. He means the large, rectangular plastic piece that covers up the area where the sim card and sd card go. Not the tray that the sim card goes in.
Until they make housing parts - get yourself a case, a temp fix.

They do sell complete housing kits in Red/Black on Ebay.
Thanks but its $85 and all I need is the top soft touch cover bit I'll get a case instead

How did you upgrade a R800x to 2.3.4?

SEMC,its the simplest to do so,if you're hesitant on flashing an .ftf file.
Sent from my R800i using Tapatalk
But there is no 2.3.4 for R800x phones, is there?

Not on the R800x, it won't work with SEMC. He likely has 2.3.3 as 2.3.4 is not out for the R800x
Also to the OP, your memory card is a fake thats why its losing files.
2.3.4 isn't officially out for the R800x, but you can extract the system.sin file from the firmware's FTF then flash the system through fastboot. Voila, 2.3.4
Test the card on your pc by putting some video files on it to above half capacity and them copying back to pc to see if they still play. Fake card frequently have smaller capacity but formatted to fool you showing larger capacity - maybe that's what the problem is. I o ly buy cards direct from Amazon or play or very long standing retailer. Ebay is no no for me.

Hey, I've loving the review about the Htc One looked at S & yes the phone is sent with a MicroSim ...
I would like to set my phone, but still have an old sim that is great and I would like to keep my old phone number and ask my is:
Can I have my SIM CARD & big punch then the MicroSimAdapter the old card in the Htc One & S put it all work?
Someone correct me if im wrong but I believe you can just trim them down to size, theres no actual difference in the chip its just the size of the sim card thats different.

Yea, that's it.
The MicroSIM is just the chip, with very little plastic around it.

I also come from 2011 family (Xperia mini pro),and most of us can unlock our bootloader with testpoint because we know our device build date and we can see our testpoint...try to take a look at your XS and my ion, both cannot open the back cover to see build date and testpoint...sim locked phone cannot use fastboot, and you must unlock it by contacting your phone provider

This had been discussed at length for the ion, search for the thread.
The only option for changing unlockable to yes is by the Sony signature server that has been off line for months.
There is also a thread for tearing down the ion, search for it.
I was hoping for a test point method as well but no joy yet.

It does NOT open the same as top cover.
To remove bottom back cover, not the SIM / sd cover, start at a corner with thin plastic or finger nail, working it open from corner to the slot in middle. Careful if you start in middle it is harder to open.
The test points are in the corner by arrow. If you follow the disassembled pics from this thread, you will see the contacts on the board.

I easily removed my bottom cover with my short finger nail. Don't go for that center recess.
Starting at a corner and then the other corner it comes off easily, at least for me. Finesse, not force is the key.

Well long story short my girlfriend stuck her nano sim from her iPhone 5 into my phone because her battery was dead and needed to call someone or something... and then in her attempts to get it back out she was shoving pieces of paper up into it. And then she just took the little metal piece off that goes over the top. It broke a few of the little pins off but I bent what was left of them up and the taped my sim in, but I am wanting to have a permanent fix for it so I can switch my sim out at any time if need be without having to tape it on there. Plus if I were to want to trade phones with someone on craigslist I wouldn't want to scam them and say everything was working.. HOW DO I FIX IT?

Thread cleaned. Reopen.
Yes, let us know how it goes and post pics of the process, if you can.
I also broke my SIM slot (within a few minutes of unboxing the phone) trying to remove a self-cut SIM card. That didn't go so well, so I had to get it repaired.
Sent it to Samsung and got it fixed for free. They did a pretty good job and it was super fast. Took them under a week.
But yeah, I sure wish I had a good tutorial to guide me through it. I could have done it myself and not wait.
If it doesn't go well, now you know you have the Samsung repair option.
I broke my sim tray on my galaxy Nexus by using a sim adapter. I sent it in to Samsung and they labled it as BER (beyond economic repair), they wouldn't even fix it with me footing the bill. I ended up buying a new phone (GN2). Hopefully you have better luck then I did! That sucks, hope you are able to fix it!
Sent from my SGH-T889 using xda premium
Wow that really sucks.... I'd be beyond furious but you can take the back a loose if you have the proper tools. Get a replacement tray on ebay or Amazon and watch a how to video on YouTube. A tear down and rebuild video to be more specific.

I may get it repairs from Samsung.. What ballpark should I expect to pay for the repair from Samsung?
I am surprised an Apple user, would think that their sim card would work on anything other than their overload SKyne...Apple told them it work on.
Does the ZL allow you to swap the SIM card without rebooting the phone? The Nexus 4 makes you reboot every time a SIM card is swapped.

Sadly, the iPhone. It's probably the only thing that I like about it. Must be a Qualcomm thing with the Xperia Zs, the Nexus 4, and I bet the US version of the Galaxy S4 and the HTC One are the same.
