Hey, I've loving the review about the Htc One looked at S & yes the phone is sent with a MicroSim ...
I would like to set my phone, but still have an old sim that is great and I would like to keep my old phone number and ask my is:
Can I have my SIM CARD & big punch then the MicroSimAdapter the old card in the Htc One & S put it all work?
Someone correct me if im wrong but I believe you can just trim them down to size, theres no actual difference in the chip its just the size of the sim card thats different.

Yea, that's it.
The MicroSIM is just the chip, with very little plastic around it.
Trim and grin.... done one at work last week.

people have been cutting sims for years lol
Normally I would be flaming right beside u guys for posting common knowledge stuff. However..I have been through 4 different android phones, 2 blackberry phones and one winmo phone...all using sim cards and this is the first time I've heard of cutting up sim cards. Up until the s3 I thought all sim cards were the same size and shape

They even have SIM card cutters. I used to work for Rogers, they're insanely convenient and easy to use.
cutting SIM cards date back to the release of iPhone 4. If you never heard of it, props to you for not give a phuc about iphones.

I dont know if you guys will remember, but when the atrix came out, they were saying our old "3g" sim cards would not work in the "4g"(boy they used that term loosely) devices. If I simply cut my existing sim card and put it in my soon to be delivered red sg3, will it work with lte?
it should, dont see why it wouldnt /\/\

I had never heard of this until this phone either. So, it's perfectly acceptable that you didn't think this was common knowledge. Amazes me how some folks think that just bc not everyone is totally obsessed with their phone that makes them idiots.

Punctuation and Grammer on a forum.... virtually non-existent. Who cares, I am well educated.... But my writing style and the manner in which others compose their posts....least of my worries.

One thing I noticed is that if you cut your sim card, you don't have to pay the $36 upgrade fee for AT&T to change your active sim card. (Or at least they haven't hit me up for it yet. I ordererd my phone through amazon).
I did this, and I lost the ability to send mms, had to go get a micro sim.

LTE won't work with the older non-LTE SIMs.

I just looked at the box mine came in. I got it at best buy on black friday last year and it came witha 2 gig msd card but there is no plus on the box after the name. I didn't know there was another version of the phone, but it could just be a different box design.
To OP: The dev section consist mostly of GSM devs. The roms for the GSM (marvel) version of the phone will not work for the CDMA (marvelc) version. Some roms may boot and work slightly but, in my experience, they tend to not work at all and bootloop the phone. However, there are some marvelc roms out in the dev section that will work perfectly.
HTC Wildfire S+ ? Isn't that supposed to be the Desire C ?

You can cut your original SIM to the micro SIM that's needed in the hox. Even the store will do this for you. They did mine too

If you go to your carrier then they can transfer your number to a micro sim, I would advise a giant cutting the sim yourself they have a habit of getting suck in the sim slot if not perfect.

I wouldn't recommend cutting the SIM (as temporally solution ok). In store you can get free replacement. The SIM which was cut will cause you signal issues. Get genuine micro SIM asap.

I didn't say its a problem. But might cause problem. With incorrect use of cutting device it might snap out a tiny bit of golden part... Imo best is proper micro SIM.

I cut my own SIM no problems with it yet just make sure you do a good cut

I've cut three SIMs down and regularly swap between them over the last year, no problems.
Just use a sharp knife and cut the right place. Remember, you can always take more off, you can't put it back!
Or buy a sim card cutter off ebay for 3 bucks. Awesome tool, makes professional cuts. That's what I did and now I cut Sims on a regular bases for friends and co workers.
Not sent from an Iphone but from a more sophisticated Android device.
I cut my two SIMs with sharp scissors and I have an adaptor to make it a normal SIM as I swop them between my hox. And my work sensation.
Both work perfect. Infact the hox tray is great for the fine tuning the shape as it slots in. The gold bits are just contacts around the edge connecting to the chip in the middle so be hard to break it I think. Getting the wrong shape is your worst risk so use a template off web.

BEWARE!
If you cut down a TPG sim and insert it in your HOX it will reach dangerously high temperatures and burst: into flames.:laugh::laugh:
BTW TPG really suck in all aspects of delivering a mobile service.
My sim card doesn't pop out when pushing forward on the card, so doesn't have that spring to it. I noticed the kid selling me the phone was trying to put the sim card where the memory card goes. I have to use tweezers to remove the card, this can't be right.

Mine doesn't pop out either neither does sd card. I guess that's the way these are built. Not like the note 2

They redid it to make it tighter.less chance of sim or sd moving

Yeah, when putting in my sim and sd card, I didn't notice any spring load thing. It just simply slid in.

This. I never have to take the sim card out of my phone unless I buy a new phone. Since I'm not fortunate enough to buy a new phone every week, then the sim isn't much of a concern.
However, I am a little bummed about the SD card slot not being spring loaded. I do take that out every so often to transfer transfer things to it. Maybe the USB 3.0 connection will help with that. It might make up for the fact that MTP is so slow.
Sent from my SM-N900T using xda app-developers app
I thought I was the only one! my sim card just wouldn't come out and the only way I could get it out was to use a threading needle to nudge it out slightly, then slightly "stab" and pull it out. I thought I had a defective device and it only bothered me knowing that if I were to ever sell it, I would have a defective feature to list.
I never take my aim out anyways

It's actually for replacing the S-Pen tip, but if it also helps you take out the SIM card then that's just an added bonus

I've done some considerable searching and can't locate a vendor that sells the sim card tray for the M8. Does anyone know of a vendor? I lost my sim card tray so my phone is basically useless right now.
