The back cover ruins the look and the feel.
PS those batteries aren't light.

Where can I find this battery on Mexico?
Thank you.

100$ just for a battery? gimme a break.
just buy some power adapter....

Apart from the high price (overestimated?) i think the problem would be finding a new silicon, TPU case that fits the new-shaped phone (my gs2 cannot live without it). This mugen battery seems enormous.
I wonder why samsung keeps making phones thinner and thinner and can't understand that people care more about battery life than thickness. With some mm. in addition, galaxy s2 would last longer and have a better grip, in my opinion.

From What I know, they ship overseas mi amigo, last time I checked they did, also, they´ll give you a $$7 USD discount if you like'em on facebook.

Is this a trusted battery brand for Galaxy SII? If so, where can I find it? (any link?)
Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda app-developers app

it will be in my christmas wishlist

Will add this one on my buy list before going to vacation

Is this a trusted company? What do you say?

Everyone knows mugen. They're pretty known for their extended battery solutions. Even though they abuse the whole price thing...

2000 mAh is good for me

İs this so heavy?

Sounds nice, but the price is exactly one fourth the price i paid for new sg2 !

FYI, There are no TPU cases for it, but this battery comes with a leather case that is quite thick and gives reasonable protection.

i'd really like to have one of those....but the price is just too high

yeah, the price is killing me softely
.. also this big size of the battery.. is killing me too..
but the time of phone works keeps me still alive

been looking for one for my D710 S2 that doesnt make it super ugly, got a 2500 MHZ one but it didnt make a difference and it was slightly too think and i had to file the metal case down on the battery with a belt sander..... so i may see if they make one for mt SII

In real use, how much of a difference would it make? I have my stock battery, which lasts through the day (16-18 hours) with moderate use. Would this give me like double right away? And yeah, expensive indeed.
Greetings.

Galaxy S compatible 1800mah battery for $20

Hello there, Captivate people! Visitor from the Vibrant forums here. We found and tested an 1800mah battery that, while intended for the Epic Touch 4G, fits and works perfectly in the Galaxy S and all it's variants. I've personally tested it in a Samsung Fascinate and a Samsung Vibrant. The Fascinate was a tighter fit than the Vibrant, but the battery door closed just fine.
I've personally tested the battery over the past week and it lasts significantly longer than the default 1500mah battery (I'm a relatively new Vibrant user, so my battery is only a couple months old). The math seems to match up with the 1800mah claim. To be clear, this isn't as surprising as it would be if this were a random Chinese ebay battery. This battery is made by Samsung for the Epic Touch 4G. It's noticeably thicker than the stock Galaxy S battery, but not so thick that the battery door on the Vibrant and Fascinate won't close completely.
The battery can be found here:
http://www.mobilecityonline.com/wireless/store/productdetail.asp?productid=28506
I spent quite a bit of time trying to find the best 3rd party battery for my phone, and lo and behold, the best one comes from Samsung itself.
If you'd like to read more than just my humble opinion, here is a link to the thread started in the Vibrant forum:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1262035
Hope this information is helpful. Enjoy your Galaxy S!
has anyone tested to see if this fits in a captivate phone?
Great question. Anyone have any contacts at AT&T/Sprint/Verizon to see if we can do a test fit?
I love CM7 but it drains the battery fast. 1850 capacity would be great and a nice boost.

Please follow up with the performance on these. Ill be traveling to Europe here in December and if these offer more battery life they could be a major help for me.

I think everyone bought these on Sunday. It will be Friday or Monday before you see a report.
Just received the battery from mobilecity. I was leaving my home as I saw the package, so no photos or long term report. Initial impressions though:
Most importantly, the phone works. I'm typing this on it. The battery came with a 45% charge, so normal.
The battery is a little thicker than the original, and a little heavier. The back cover is slightly tight fitting.
Will try charging in a little.

Thanks man, my captivate came with no battery, and now I know, from which seller I can buy a good replacement.
Thanks for the pictures. Let us know how this performs over the next few days.
Could we get images of the battery stats screen? Also, how tight is the battery door fit?
Sent from my Samsung Captivate running Andromeda3.
Just knowing that it fits works and charges I'll be ordering one right now.
Purchased it with 2 day shipping for $10 extra. lol
Just got mine! It fits!
Here is the battery in the phone, plus attempts to show how little the battery size affects the back cover:
Basically, it's barely noticeable and is ever so slight. It just makes the latch a little bit harder to close, that's all.
Charging to 100% right now, will report on stats after it drains overnight and tomorrow.
really looking forward to your first results I hope you got your old results in mind and can calculate the % your battery life has increased;-)

Galaxy S II Metal Battery Cover (Black)

Just thought I would post here..
Just purchased a Black Metal Battery Cover for my phone..
Always wanted to buy one, cause I thought it would add more of a "premium" feel, (add some weight to the device) and just think the Stock one is to flimsy..
Just ordered it online from ebay.. Will post my findings when I receive it..
If anyone has already ordered and received this, please feel free to post in the thread.. I am interested to know how the phone feels and looks after..
Thanks!

New ebay listing here:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Metal-Bac...ain_0&var=&hash=item721838e116#ht_1640wt_1396
So if anyone already has one can you tell us how it is? Is the cover actually metal or is it just finished plastic? This is affect whether I buy it or not...
looks good. but if its metal, clipping it on might damage the device.
plus the cover is only for the original battery, those with 2000 mah battery will not be able to fit it.
I ordered one last too, the blue one cause I thought it looked quite smart.
I'll post pictures once I get it, which should be within a couple of weeks hopefully!
Looks good. <3
They will be the most beautiful effect on my S2
Will definitely post my experience once I receive it. I heard it makes the device a bit thicker. I saw a short review on YouTube.
If this is the case, I am totally fine with it since I have the extended 2000mah battery coming in any day now.

I ordered mine from here http://www.trait-tech.com/product/T-SAMI9100-9012J__all-aluminium-back-cover-back-housing-for-samsung-i9100-galaxy-s2-black.html
I ordered on Nov. 19 and it took 10 days to arrive to Vancouver from Singapore. Could've use Hong Kong Post (14-20 days) but SingPost can deliever within 7-20 days.
The aluminum metal back creates a premium look and feel. Also add some weight and slight thickness to the phone that make it more sturdy in the hand compared to the original plastic back. There's chrome around the camera and also around the edge of the whole metal back. It's pretty good eye candy.

But do you think it will be safer?
(phone might break; metal => more inflexible?)

I read in another thread someone said they had issues with GPS with this back on, I have none, it locks in just as fast as with the plastic one.
looks amazing, i'll buy one of this.

New case with Extended Battery and kickstand. . .

With the Samsung Galaxy Note being in the news as of late, possibly headed to the US and getting ports of Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich or CM9 already I figure I’d let everyone know about an awesome accessory and extended battery for the smartphone tablet hybrid. From Mugen Power we have the 4500 mAh extended battery — awesome right?
When the Galaxy Note was announced having a 1.4 GHz dual-core processor and a huge 5.3″ screen I know many were worried about battery life — myself included. Samsung assured everyone they had that covered and indeed they do. Offering the Galaxy Note with a huge 2500 mAh battery that should last all day for most users.
For those that want to watch movies, draw portraits with the S-pen stylus technology or just love using that brilliant and bright 5.3″ Super AMOLED HD display all day long we have you covered. Mugen Power is offering a massive 4500 mAh extended battery for the Note — with a replacement battery cover and built-in kickstand. Now you can watch movies on that huge screen hands-free, and it will last for more than a few hours too. It adds to the thickness obviously, but not too much if you ask me.
If you’ve not heard of Mugen Power don’t worry because we have and they are great. This isn’t some cheap knockoff claiming 4500 mAh — this battery should give you a massive boost in battery life. It does come at a pretty penny and definitely isn’t cheap. Being offered in white, black, and red for a price of $109. If you truly need that much battery life head down to the link below and get your own today — shipping in a few weeks.

It would be great if manufacturers tried to maximize the power of a battery
that would fit the default space.

If Mugen was really market savvy they would have released a case of some sort - just an edge bumper would have been great. So I am torn between wanting the battery and needing to protect such an expensive phone.
I wonder how much is the actual power on that 4500mAH is just a marketing number for sure.. maybe 3500 only?

I wonder if those metal "window frame" "cases" that sell on ebay for $38 from Taiwan wil fit with the extra back. They only go around the edge and protrude a couple of mm on screen side. If they do then it might be just enough.
But i'd prefer an Otterbox/Seidio case with holster!

Same here. Calibration helps a lot.
An additional 150ma, if that number is even true, you won't notice any difference compared to the stock battery. That small of increased capacity isn't enough to be noticeable.

If it's accurate, it's a touch over 8% gained. Rough math, but if you get 12 hours use out of stock 1800mah, then 1950mah will give you an additional 57 minutes.
That is a horrid looking battery door. I too have no problems making an 18 hour day on my stock battery. Wonder if a Tpu case will stretch over the battery with out the battery door.
The extended cover looks better physically than in picture. Its rather it's easy to grip the phone now with the extended battery with my big hands. Battery still holding out nicely as before.
My extended battery (note: it's actually 3800mah) and door came today and I must say, I am damn impressed.
This phone, even with extra-deep door, is thinner than the Galaxy S1 I just came from, so I'm strongly considering leaving it on all the time.
The extra depth and curved door is also good for holding the phone in your hand.
It's a great purchase. I bought generic off eBay for under $10.
I will say this is better than generic
it's on par with trexcell although both are of same mAh
I just purchased the 1950 slim version. Have been using it for 3 days. I got Battery Monitor Pro so I could determine true battery amperage. It's telling me 2366mAh right now but I need to give it a few more days before it settles in.
Hey nubsors I've heard those apps cant truly measure mAh curious to see how accurate it ends up being. I have a generic battery and I'm curious about its real rating.
place a stock oem battery and have it measure it
Any of you wanna send me one to test?? I'd gladly test one with my equipment and publish it over at my Epic4G Battery Reviews thread. I'd also be curious if it'd fit under one of my generic cases (regular Epic4G here) just for kicks but I can review the battery no matter what.
I'll send it right back after I get 3 solid runs of collected data for consistency.

Might end up buying one. ¿Any cases that will fit it?
Great find! I've searched daily for one of these. Thanks very much for sharing. I need one for backcountry GPS use and changing out small batteries always screws with settings. For $20 with cover and Prime, I'm jumping on it!
Just a quick warning that these are not NFC compatible. Personally, I don't use it, but it may be important to others.
Battery came very quick, very fast delivery and used for one day
I'm extremely impress with the performance of this battery. Typically on an average day, I only get at maximum 4 hours of battery life thanks to the 4G connection, now I can go on for a whole day without looking for a charger! will continue to post results as I use this more
Also will like to comment on the back cover. It has the Hyperskin texture just like the original case. Makes the phone just as grippy as the original case, the cover also provides an ergonomic contour for holding the phone properly. With the original cover I find it a little bit too thin to hold. Along with the hyperskin texture, this thing does not slip at all.
Overall excellent build quality and good lasting battery. This will be my main battery going forward
I don't trust Chinese batteries because of an experience I had with a Chinese battery I had for my DX2.
I will stick with my expensive Seidio batteries from now on. lol
seidio is like 4 times the price of this battery. I tried seidio before and although they are good, i find phones obsolete too quickly to warrant on an expensive battery with similar increase of batt life
At that price it's hard not to pass up. There are very few times I need such battery life but tournament weekends and occasional outings for events definitely would warrant this.
Just ordered one for flights with an external charger. Hopefully everything works out well.

Gonna give the Anker Multi-Purpose Universal Rapid Cell phone Battery Charger for Samsung: Galaxy Nexus one a try. Can't post a link for amazon since I don't have enough post.
Btw, just a heads up to you all.
If you look at all the posts of the OP, he seems like he is banging the drum for QCell batteries.
Just a FYI.
OP probably is affiliated with QCell in some way.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using XDA
Can someone NOT affiliated with QCell give us your personal thoughts...
Battery vs Stock vs Extended Verizon
I'm worried that the cheaper cells used won't hold their charge after xxx charges. It happens all too often. I think all of us have had this happen to them on one phone or another. At that point might as well buy overpriced Seidio.
That picture makes it appear that the extended battery nearly doubles the thickness of the phone. I'm using the Sansung extended battery and while it adds a nicely needed "heft" to the phone that keeps it from feeling too cheap, it doesn't add a lot of thickness.
I ordered a GSM one from Amazon UK, there's not much price difference with the chinese ones on eBay and, although the battery might probably come from the same or similar place, the case seems nicer and if anything goes wrong I'd rather ***** Amazon customer service than some random eBay seller.
Will keep you informed, although I don't have the official extended battery to compare with.
I just got mine in today. Definitely is thicker and kind of looks like the seidio extended battery but it actually matches the color and texture of the original battery. I am coming from the verizon extended battery and am charging up the new one as I type this so I'll report back after I use it a bit
