With the Samsung Galaxy Note being in the news as of late, possibly headed to the US and getting ports of Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich or CM9 already I figure I’d let everyone know about an awesome accessory and extended battery for the smartphone tablet hybrid. From Mugen Power we have the 4500 mAh extended battery — awesome right?
When the Galaxy Note was announced having a 1.4 GHz dual-core processor and a huge 5.3″ screen I know many were worried about battery life — myself included. Samsung assured everyone they had that covered and indeed they do. Offering the Galaxy Note with a huge 2500 mAh battery that should last all day for most users.
For those that want to watch movies, draw portraits with the S-pen stylus technology or just love using that brilliant and bright 5.3″ Super AMOLED HD display all day long we have you covered. Mugen Power is offering a massive 4500 mAh extended battery for the Note — with a replacement battery cover and built-in kickstand. Now you can watch movies on that huge screen hands-free, and it will last for more than a few hours too. It adds to the thickness obviously, but not too much if you ask me.
If you’ve not heard of Mugen Power don’t worry because we have and they are great. This isn’t some cheap knockoff claiming 4500 mAh — this battery should give you a massive boost in battery life. It does come at a pretty penny and definitely isn’t cheap. Being offered in white, black, and red for a price of $109. If you truly need that much battery life head down to the link below and get your own today — shipping in a few weeks.

Wow really nice. But I just spent $700 on a phone
If a TPU case comes out that fits it I'll buy one. The Note if far too precious to go unprotected.
In the meanwhile I'll continue using my S-line TPU case and use spare batteries instead.

Anyone knows of a TPU case that might fit

werd.... too much for a standup case.. i am sure there will be similar counterfeit soon.
It would be great if manufacturers tried to maximize the power of a battery
that would fit the default space.
Rarely have I come across batteries that really perform better but are still same size.
It's always more or less the same.
This battery you are offering seems awesome, with that kickstand.
Too bad it won't fit in my Samsung Car Dock.

If Mugen was really market savvy they would have released a case of some sort - just an edge bumper would have been great. So I am torn between wanting the battery and needing to protect such an expensive phone.
I wonder how much is the actual power on that 4500mAH is just a marketing number for sure.. maybe 3500 only?

I wonder if those metal "window frame" "cases" that sell on ebay for $38 from Taiwan wil fit with the extra back. They only go around the edge and protrude a couple of mm on screen side. If they do then it might be just enough.
But i'd prefer an Otterbox/Seidio case with holster!

Dont know if this has been posted/discussed, buti wanted to tell everyone that the sprint 2600 mah battery fits the seidio innocase rugged...i had to trim the back of the inner most case so it fit around the battery..the rubber case fits over no problem, then the skeleton fits right over that...this is awesome! I would say it fits 99.9%...almost perfect... Im psyched to have good battery life (i hope)..i will post pics if anyone wants...letme know

Can you please post pics? I am searching for a hard case that will fit this extended battery.
post em plz
Are you guys serious? I told everyone about this like a month ago but if he gets his pics up then he gets the prize. I posted it in the 2600 extended battery thread and apparently so did you?!?!?
Serious about posting pics? Of course we are, no one has legitimately proved this yet.

I just got my Innocase Rugged Extended combo. Came with the extended hard case, the rugged soft case for on top of that, the hard skeleton to put on the soft case, and a face in holster. Pics below. Sorry for the crappy quality...had to take them with my webcam.
Last pics...the phone + ext. battery + cases make it a huge thing to carry around, but I'm definitely not worried about what will happen if I drop it now.

I didn't have to modify anything actually. Seidio made this specifically for extended batteries.
Are you using the Sprint 2600mah or seidio's extended battery?
Sent From My "EVO"
I have both, actually...I use the Seidio as my everyday battery though, and the Sprint as a backup.
Is the Sprint battery the one used in the pictures posted? If so I'm gonna have to order one today and return the otterbox defender I have.
Sent From My "EVO"
No, but as far as I can tell, they are the same size. I've even used the stock battery with an extended door setup, and didn't have any issues.
It might be a bit much to ask, but could you try the sprint extended battery with the Sprint extended battery door to see if it fits. I know the battery covers are slightly different. I would hate to order the case and find out it won't work. I would really appreciate if you you could do this.
Sent From My "EVO"
Fits like a glove man. No worries. I ordered it straight off the Seidio site and got the whole combo pack for $75 with overnight shipping. It's $49.95 on their site, which seems like a pretty good deal to me. This case pretty much defines the term rugged.
Thanks, I'm gonna get one on order.

I think some people may be confused in this thread.. here is what i posted:
1. Sprint extended battery fits the REGULAR SIZE innocase rugged. im not talking about the EXTENDED innocase rugged.
here is my set up:
1. Sprint battery
2. Seidio Innocase Rugged (NON-EXTENDED)
3. NO stock battery door
My method:
Cut the Innocase II back to accept the extra bulk of the extended battery, NO STOCK BATTERY DOOR.. then i covered the phone+ extended battery in the rubber, and skeleton.. I am please so far.. here are a few pics..

Might end up buying one. ¿Any cases that will fit it?
Great find! I've searched daily for one of these. Thanks very much for sharing. I need one for backcountry GPS use and changing out small batteries always screws with settings. For $20 with cover and Prime, I'm jumping on it!
Just a quick warning that these are not NFC compatible. Personally, I don't use it, but it may be important to others.
Battery came very quick, very fast delivery and used for one day
I'm extremely impress with the performance of this battery. Typically on an average day, I only get at maximum 4 hours of battery life thanks to the 4G connection, now I can go on for a whole day without looking for a charger! will continue to post results as I use this more
Also will like to comment on the back cover. It has the Hyperskin texture just like the original case. Makes the phone just as grippy as the original case, the cover also provides an ergonomic contour for holding the phone properly. With the original cover I find it a little bit too thin to hold. Along with the hyperskin texture, this thing does not slip at all.
Overall excellent build quality and good lasting battery. This will be my main battery going forward
I don't trust Chinese batteries because of an experience I had with a Chinese battery I had for my DX2.
I will stick with my expensive Seidio batteries from now on. lol
seidio is like 4 times the price of this battery. I tried seidio before and although they are good, i find phones obsolete too quickly to warrant on an expensive battery with similar increase of batt life
At that price it's hard not to pass up. There are very few times I need such battery life but tournament weekends and occasional outings for events definitely would warrant this.
Just ordered one for flights with an external charger. Hopefully everything works out well.

Battery vs Stock vs Extended Verizon
I'm worried that the cheaper cells used won't hold their charge after xxx charges. It happens all too often. I think all of us have had this happen to them on one phone or another. At that point might as well buy overpriced Seidio.
That picture makes it appear that the extended battery nearly doubles the thickness of the phone. I'm using the Sansung extended battery and while it adds a nicely needed "heft" to the phone that keeps it from feeling too cheap, it doesn't add a lot of thickness.
I ordered a GSM one from Amazon UK, there's not much price difference with the chinese ones on eBay and, although the battery might probably come from the same or similar place, the case seems nicer and if anything goes wrong I'd rather ***** Amazon customer service than some random eBay seller.
Will keep you informed, although I don't have the official extended battery to compare with.
I just got mine in today. Definitely is thicker and kind of looks like the seidio extended battery but it actually matches the color and texture of the original battery. I am coming from the verizon extended battery and am charging up the new one as I type this so I'll report back after I use it a bit

Where can I find this battery on Mexico?

100$ just for a battery? gimme a break.
just buy some power adapter....
Apart from the high price (overestimated?) i think the problem would be finding a new silicon, TPU case that fits the new-shaped phone (my gs2 cannot live without it). This mugen battery seems enormous.
I wonder why samsung keeps making phones thinner and thinner and can't understand that people care more about battery life than thickness. With some mm. in addition, galaxy s2 would last longer and have a better grip, in my opinion.

Sounds nice, but the price is exactly one fourth the price i paid for new sg2 !

FYI, There are no TPU cases for it, but this battery comes with a leather case that is quite thick and gives reasonable protection.
i'd really like to have one of those....but the price is just too high
yeah, the price is killing me softely
.. also this big size of the battery.. is killing me too..
but the time of phone works keeps me still alive
been looking for one for my D710 S2 that doesnt make it super ugly, got a 2500 MHZ one but it didnt make a difference and it was slightly too think and i had to file the metal case down on the battery with a belt sander..... so i may see if they make one for mt SII
In real use, how much of a difference would it make? I have my stock battery, which lasts through the day (16-18 hours) with moderate use. Would this give me like double right away? And yeah, expensive indeed.
Greetings.

Hello,
I am using a galaxy S2 with the Samsung official extended battery back (and the plastic cover that came with it).
I would like if to replace the cover, but I cannot find any website selling a replacement cover for this battery.
I am looking for 2000mAh version of theses things.
I am looking for something in metal, black metal, carbon fiber style, matte black or grey.
I live in France, so an european reseller would be prefered.
Thank you
First up you dont wont a metal back cover as this will block your GPS thats id you use it..
As for a replacement extended back cover there used to be a dealer on ebay Had one sent out to La Reunion some time ago.
Also there are some bummers that have a cut out to allow for extended battery..
Nyssa1104 is right, please don't go for metal back cover, you may end up blocking your GPS and eventually other connectivity issues may rise up. I was searching for the same thing today and luckily I found that it blocks your GPS transmission, thanks to the bloggers
Thank you for your answers. I will give up the metal!
I am still looking for a non metal one that is less slippery than the original one (something matte or with a carbon fiber-like coating).
So any link for this product would be appreciated!
why don't u try with carbon fibre look 3d vinyl sticker? it should be less slippery then.

Simply put, you cannot buy a custom battery cover for the extended 2000mAh battery. It's not mainstream enough to have one made for it. What you can do is what caliber2001 suggested. I have one as well, and I have done it to my S2's extended battery cover. Plus, it doesn't block your GPS signal!

Don't use metal battery cover!
I have brushed metal battery door and metal draco design bumper and...No GPS signal! It was fine before I got the battery door.
So the metal battery cover is quite good at blocking your GPS.

I have already sold my SII along with the battery and case, so I can't take any more pictures of it. However, you can check out my other thread that has some pictures in it.
I received mine yesterday, the back cover is really nice and fits perfectly. The camera now rest protected and slightly indented in the cover. Probably this was the original S2 design at start, they changed for a thinner and lighter phone.
Dunno about performance yet. I use my phone a lot every day, so we'll see.
Yeah, I thought that as well. The battery cover is sturdier, and the whole phone has a uniform thickness, making the speaker/antenna area flush with the phone. Why didn't Samsung release the SII with a 2000mAh battery in the first place? My guess is that they wanted to compete with the iPhone 4's thinness at the time. If only smartphone manufacturers knew that anyone would prefer a phone with good battery life over one that feels like it's going to break easily.
I guess manufacturers are learning from S3 success to release new accessories ASAP I see that Anker just released their 5200 mAh extended battery with either Dark blue or White battery covers, NFC support, and their typical 18-months warranty. Pretty good value for $17.99 shipped.
http://www.amazon.com/5200mAh-Exten...435&sr=8-1&keywords=anker+5200+mah+battery+s4
I can only judge by their S3 and N2 performance and reliability, and typically these batteries offer even slightly higher capacity than labeled. I know there was heated up discussions lol!!! about Anker vs Mugen and Hyperion in N2 forums, but just my own personal opinion because I review a ton of different accessories, I always find Anker and Mugen to be superior in quality over Hyperion (who often can't even meet the capacity they list on the label) and between Anker and Mugen - Anker has a much better value and longer warranty, besides Mugen hasn't even released extended battery for S4 yet.
Regarding other discussion about Zerolemon 3x capacity for S4, ZL just released their battery for N2 and working on rugged cases for N2, so it will take a while before they will have 3x capacity for S4. Look how long it took them to release it for N2, almost 6 months (but the wait was worth waiting for ).
So in my opinion, if you want good extended battery, go with Anker 5200 now and wait for ZL 7800 by the Fall time
i'd rather just buy a spare and swap it out if i need it... that way its not so bulky & i can use the case i want lol
Looks great. Hard to tell how bulky it really is compared to the size of the phone, but I think I may pick one up. If anything, it will be great for long trips.
If anybody picks one up can you please provide pictures on how it looks on the phone and how it works with the camera flash?

I have their Astro Slim2 and Astro 3E - been using for awhile, multiple charges and a few times it was a life saver for both my N2 and my wife's N7. One thing you have to keep in mind, something that is a fact with every external battery charger but only Anker spells it out in their manual - the actual capacity of external battery charger is about 30% less from the rated value because you have to take into consideration losses of converting from 3.7V its internal battery voltage to 5V USB interface which connectors to micro-usb port of your phone. Seems, other feedback on N2 forum about Anker external batteries has been positive, and I actually learned about the company by searching Amazon for top selling battery brands. Sorry, don't mean to turn this post into free advertisement for Anker (it's your money, I don't care how you spend it and what you buy ) just sharing my opinion because I review a lot of accessories and always look for a good price/performance ratio.
Btw, why didn't you use the warranty? You have 18-months given to you to get a new replacement for free. Go for it!!!
The reviews are not even for that extended battery.

OMG! It's tooooooooo thick for me (Yes I know, that's what she said)....and with a case it will become unpocket-able for sure!
How's the weight distribution post installation? Meaning does it have a tendency to slip?
Weight distribution looks fine to me. But you definitely need a case for this like what the hyperion had for their extended battery for the S3. I hope Anker would come up with a case for this.
