Touch Panel not working - Wildfire Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

My Wildfire has some portions of the screen where touch is not working. The HTC service guy told me that it maybe due to some magnetic effects happening due to putting your phone with some other electronics. He says i have to buy new touch panel.
Can anybody help me fixing this panel?
Also the ear-piece is not working.
please help me if anything is possible to fix this.

looks like a broken digitizer - there are a few useful threads in General and Q&A with descriptions of the problem, sources to buy and a take apart guide (probably also more in Accessories). Just search for "digitizer" in those

broken screen (touch works)

Hello i've got a strange issue,
i dropped the phone and the screen seems broken. the glass looks cracked but the screen works fine. the touch is great everything is ok , but the screen looks cracked. (look attached image).
i have a mirror screen protection which i think protected the screen when the phone fell off.
i want to replace the screen with a new one.
saw this on ebay: http://cgi.ebay.com/LCD-Screen-Digi...ccessories?hash=item5ad5e29e88#ht_3863wt_1165
you think is a good idea? you think that if i try to replace the screen then i will damage the touch screen system? is it easy to replace?
Seems like a good idea if you ask me, if they say it fits & will work I would have no reason to think otherwise. Please post up a guide on how you go about doing it though. For only 30bucks, is it worth not giving it a go?
Yes i am thinking of it. anybody has directions or anything? any ideas?
u think that the touch screen is affected or just the digitizer's glass?
hi, i have had the same problem. i have also bought a new digitizer on ebay and changed it. but handle with care, the digitizer is glued into the upper frame. the frame is metal and easily deformed.
sorry for my bad english...
hey
thanks for the directions
do u have photographs of the operation?
if not, can you describe me in more detail the operation? you unscrew the screws behind the screen right? you didn't remove the keypad from the screen?
Here is one site to get the parts or to just learn about what you need, https://www.gsm4world.us/touch-pro-2-p-495_210.html. You need this, https://www.gsm4world.us/htc-touch-pro2-pro-ii-touch-screen-digitizer-lens-glass-d-02761_495.html, which is cheaper than what you found on eBay. Do a serach on Youtube for videos of how to replace it. Good luck getting it fixed. Report back with some pics for all of us.
Quick question...in the screenshot above in the OP, the connection manager shows an entry for "Wifi Router"...is that a default feature of the unbranded HTC Rhodium ROM?
I installed the "HTC CM Wifi Internet Sharing" from this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=4170499#post4170499
...but that doesn't create an entry in the connection manager like the one I see above, can anybody clarify where that one comes from?

You are hijacking the thread. Your question probably should have been asked via pm, that's Private Message. The board is hard enough to read so when the threads get hijacked it makes it even more difficult. In addition, it disrespects the OP (Original Poster). If anyone has a response for sirphunkee (cool nic) then please send it via pm. Don't junk up the thread. Thank you.

could be any number of things with impact damage, the screen, the mainboard, blah blah blah, you will prob need it looked at proply
search HTC Desire Disassembly Video on youtube, i may not yet post links, since i havent posted enough replies yet.
i would disassemble it and check parts by parts, it doesn't look very difficult to open up the desire almost like open a beer can. good luck, you will need it.
(i would pay that 100£ to have it fixed)

[Q] Touch Pro 2 Digitizer Replacement! Please Help!

Hi, I have a TP2 with a broken digitizer. Dropped it a couple days ago and it's spiderweb cracked across the whole screen. The LCD work just fine, as I can still see everything clearly(except for the tiny cracks) but I can't use the touch screen, which maybe one of the most annoying things I have ever delt with. I wanted to know if anyone on this forum has any kind of digitizer replacement guide for TP2, and even better a video on it. Also, if anyone was interested in repair work for payment via paypal, I would be interested in talking to you. I could provide you with the phone(of course) and the replacement digitizer, along with the S&H on the phone for both ways. I havent found much on the subject anywhere else, and I have always found this site very useful dating back to my first HTC Wizard. I appreciate any help you have to give.
Thanks in advance
Namashkaar McJew,
Any luck ? I thought it would be easier for you to get it fixed at USA.
It is quite difficult to get digitizers in India for TP2 . Only if I can get hold of a digitizer I could have fixed it for you for no extra cost.
Wish you luck.
Regards

[Q] Touch Screen Problem after replacing- how to recalibrate?

Hi Guys,
I have recently cracked my HTC WFS touch screen and got it replaced from a local retailer. After replacing , the screen's top most part is not responding properly. I mean, If i try to power on the WI-Fi using the notification drawer , it is selecting something else (may be a message that is kept unread in the notification drawer). The guy who repaired it told me that it is not a hardware issue but a software issue. He told me that recalibrating will fix this. For this purpose, I have flashed a ROM (Wild child 3 - thinking this is almost same as the stock ROM) and still i have that issue. Please help me on how can i recalibrate the display and thus solve the issue mentioned above.
Thanks
I have seen this thread and sadly nobody answered it. Hence adding a new thread with more info.
Send it back, it's definitely a hardware issue.

Thanks a lot for the response guys
Hi @omnomnomkimiiee, The seller himself told me that this ain't a hardware problem and I have to calibrate this again for this to work . But i don't think that this is a calibration issue, since all other parts of the touch screen is working fine. Only a particular part is not working. So, i guess this could be a hardware issue. Please correct me if I am wrong and Thanks a lot for the response friends

You should most definitely have him take it back. You trusted him with it to replace a broken screen, and he returned it with a broken digitizer.

HTC 10 Vibration Motor not working

I accidentally dropped my HTC 10 and now the vibration/haptic feedback isn't working.
I've turned the vibration setting on. I've ran the diagnostic test and it isn't working so I know it is a hardware problem and that the motor is most likely broken or disconnected.
My question is, does anyone know if it's possible to have someone open up the phone and do a quick check to see what's wrong or to contact HTC and get a replacement? I'm aware that HTC has a terrible customer service and that here in Hong Kong they are apparently even worse than elsewhere. There are a lot of phone repair stores throughout Hong Kong that could easily open up my phone and see if it can be easily fixed, but I would like to know if it is something that can be repaired by re-attaching something or is it a part that is soldered onto the phone and would need to be sent back in?
Cheers
You are lucky:laugh: htc 10 vibration is very annoing

Checking the vibration motor means the LCD has to be removed, since that's the only way to acess the phone boards and components.
Doing this operation might damage the LCD, and in my opinion it's a high risk just to have the vibration working/checked.
