hi all!
finally i've got a problem after flashing cm10a1, to be honest after trying to flash ivendor's camera patch on it
so i've got my phone not working
simple switch on, recovery and DL mode are not working while unplugged
when plugged into wall charger the screen light up for several seconds, the battery icon appears and then phone switches off.. and this show is repeated.
normal and recovery modes are unavailable but DL mode can be reached. i plan to charge it for an hour and then try odin flashing yes?

You have no choice but to flash stock rom
Then reflash cwm. Cm10 and gapps
But I find cm10 really laggy
I restored it back to cm9 already

last time that's happened to me, they change the motherboard (I'm lucky that under the warranty). I already tried flash stock rom with odin 5 times, but no luck. If flashing with odin didn't resurrect your phone, I recommended you to bring your phone to samsung service center, tell to them you encounter a problem when updating software via kies, if you lucky enough they will change your motherboard for free. goodluck!
loading DL mode when attached to usb..
chose everything, hit start...
the phone reboots and writes something like "rimware upgrade encountered an issue. Pleas select recovery mode in Kies and try again."
but after this it connects to odin!
i press start once again and it starts flashing.. and gets this..
but nothing changes, disconnected phone is dead, connected to usb/wall enters DL mode
planning a trip to service center...
hell yeah!!!!
took the battery out and took some beer from the fridge)
after drinking it put the battery in and loaded the DL mode
flashing with Odin succeeded!
just got stock 2.3 loaded, going to fridge for another beer)
rooting-flashing cwm-restoring cm9 backup to go)
thx for support guys!

Maybe, I dont really sure and know about that, I never experience that

Note; I hope you will keep on using Galaxy W
dunno how did it happen, but now it's ok, to be consistent i'll wait for a new sim, i have an old nokia for calls) and feeling myself a lucky bastard
sure i'll continue using my phone, i'm addicted to it a friend of mine has bought ace2 and i just hate it's pseudo-chromed stripe arount the front(the same as ace1)
now we even have alpha of JB and our custom CM10 on 512 ram will be better than sammy's JB on 768)) and it's a question of time when they get it.. especially in ukraine lol

Hi all.
I know there are many threads about this, but there was no solution for my problem anywhere out there
Yesterday I got my Defy back from repair (broken speaker) and switched it on - I wondered why there is the vodafone 360 (I'm in germany) logo coming up, because it was not there before I sent it to repair... I immediately switched it off, to flash the de-blurred version (JRDNEM_U3_2.34.1) from and-developers.com which worked on the device before, without any problems.
After flashing it with RSDlite and got a PASS, it did not reboot - but it was still recognized by the Computer (USB-connecting sound on Windows) and RSDlite! So I tried to flash it again, but the problem persists. I already tried the McGyver-USB-cable-method and various battery-out-pressing-button-battery-in-again solutions... no chance. After a few hours testing, the phone stopped being recognized by the computer, too! I did not flash again and the white LED is still lighting up, when I plug the cable into the computer.
I left the phone with the USB-cable plugged into the computer over the night (6 hours), hoping it will charge (assuming I got the battery drained by testing too much) but the situation is still the same this morning.
I think I REALLY bricked it and have to send it to the shop, which also fixed the speaker (which I did not get to test yet ) - I would like to see a different approach, because I know I will get that ****ty vodafone 360-ROM on my phone again
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks,
hitti
They have updated your software to 2.51 when they gave it back. It is foolish of you not to even check before flashing it. Flash the 2.51 or chinese froyo sbfs.
Sent from my MB525 using XDA App
Yes, that's right - I should have checked it before.
I can't flash anything, because my computer does not "see" the phone anymore
Edit:
I sent it back to that shop, which repaired it before - hoping they get it fixed.
But u cud just flash 2.51. Well, anyway.
Sent from my MB525 using XDA App
Turn off your phone (by pulling battery if necessary). Press and hold the volumn up button and turn on the phone to open the boot loader page. Then plug in the usb cable and flash the 2.51 rom.

ABC is right..the problem is you might just get a blank screen but it gets detected by RSD. This happened to me before and thought I bricked my Defy, which almost made me shat bricks! But since you sent it in already..hopefully they fixed it if not, you can do it yourself.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=884105
download and flash....it worked for me...
I tried all kinds of combinations of pushing buttons and putting batteries in and out - it was not recognized by the computer or RSDlite at all. Thanks for helping, anyway
Maybe the battery is discharged
Do you know any person who has a Defy to let you the battery, and then reflash?
Today I went my friend's new galaxy gio flash, and there is something seriously wrong! All I know is that everything went well, with the odin multi downloader. I mean, I at the end of the flashing, the message "pass" saw. And from then on, you can do nothing with the phone. The only thing left on the screen after booting, are vertical colored lines. The phone no longer charging via the adapter, even with the USB connection. In download mode either. Has anyone a solution or explanation? I already have quite a few ROMs on various mobile phones geflased, that was not always 100% as it should, but there was always a quick solution to this order. But this, I've never seen or read somewhere on a forum ... so I fear the worst ...
Did you follow instructions on http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=16979859&postcount=549 ?
Did you use Odin 4.42?
Is the phone a GT-I5660? (Sticker behind battery) Or a slightly different model?
Can you still get it into download mode?

I've done everything as it should, it was not the first time I did this. The problem is solved, as I am today with my friend's cell phone to exchange. And lucky he just got a new. But I would just like to know what's wrong.
i have same problem on my archos tablet
but we actually killed the phone you will need to screw every piece of your gio including touch panel etc and get everything lose and then wait a few days let battery drain out also and put everything back

try these steps:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=20922716&postcount=7
Just remove the battery and ofcourse the usb cable.
Just wait for about 5 minutes.
Than put the battery back in en go to recovery mode and do a factoryreset and partitionwipe.
If that's not working, do the same thing over again and than try a new flash.
What whent wrong?
Could be a lot of things.
Faulty cableconnection/ kies running in the background ( or sommething else what try to use the usbconnection.
Better is to leave the computer alone during flashing, go for a walk or tiese you gf..............
Ok, so I searched high and low and saw nothing about anyone who couldn't get there GS3 to boot at all . . .
So My rogers I747M was succesfully rooted with Odin root not trip. And then i flashed It with the generic rooted jelly bean ROM. Successful again everything seemed fine. So i was confident in shooting for CM10(even though ive had troubles in the past) And i put the zip. in the sd and booted into CWM recovery and did a factory reset, cache and dalvik. Went to install CM10 from sd and it gave me error 7. so i reboot device and loaded into the stock rooted jellybean again to try and put another fill in the SD. Tried booting into recovery again. Now nothing at all, I have tried pulling the battery, even for hours. And then button combos..Nothing. Leaving cord in with battery out, button combos, battery in...Nothing
I'm afraid of the worst ATM, i had the unbrickable Captivate before this with my JIG and all, I'd did this to that phone, but the JIG saved me.
So the phone doesn't boot and you can't enter recovery?
The error 7 was cause by you not having the latest version of cwm.
Now for the brick part: try pulling out the battery, put it back and do the button com to enter recovery , old it for like ten seconds. Then plug it to your computer to see if Odin dectects it.
Once you tried it give me some feedback and I will check for further help. But if you are sure you didn't flash a wrong ROM for your device or a wrong kernel. The error 7 shouldn't have bricked your phone

Still No luck, whenever i try to plug it in the computer, it just gives me three quick "DUH_DUH_DUH"s as is to tell me the computer failed to recognize. I'm afraid i may have to take it back to rogers, it's not two weeks old yet so perhaps ill get away with defective, i wonder if they deem that sort of thing in store or at the depot. Because i know they wont get it too boot there, so if they did it in store perhaps ill just get an exchange
Yeah go ahead with the replacement they will not check into it. Worst case scenario, they will fix it and send it back to you

hi, i've my samsung GIO rooted, and a cm7.2 rom running, but yesterday i got a error message in android, that the proces "android" stuck.
my phone didnt response on anything, so i take my battery out, and my phone turned off, and u put my battery back.
but my phone didnt start, i've tried many things:
charge , didnt charge, the led dont light up
take simcard and SD out, no effect, still no response
tried to start in recovery, no response
take battery out for 1 hour, and put back in, no response
put a gio battery in from a friend, no response
so my phone does nothing, no startup, no recovery menu, my charge light dont shine.
is this a hard brick?
can i solve this with a usb JIG?
can i solve this with odin?
i dont think odin or JIG will work, cause my charge light dont blink, so i guess my phone dont see the JIG.

yup u got hardbrick. you gotta go to service center and say that u were upgrading with kies and this happen. dont tell about root or cwm or custom rom. though ur not giving us full information what u did that made this happen
thank you for your fast response.
i really dont know why i got this brick. it's the phone of my brother, and i've rooted + installed cm7.2 for him.
and he said:
i was watching a youtube movie, when i get a error message: "android process stuck".
and his phone didnt response so he put out the battery and placed it back, and then he got the hard brick.
JIGG, or jtagbox dont fix my brick?
i hope my brother has warranty.
If your phone does not respond at all, it's hardbricked.
Only solution is to take it to the service center...

my gio also got hardbricked and i brought it to warranty telling them that i was upgrading trough kies and in less then 1 week it was repaired
my brothers gio is working now .
my brother told me that his gio did nothing, but now i've tried it by myself
and the fact was that my brother didnt know the key combination to get in download mode. -_-
and the battery was empty, so he was right the phone did nothing -_-
after charge the battery i've flashed giopro, and then flashed jellybread 2.5 throught recovery.

Okay I guess I'll be the first to post.
About an hour ago my phone shut off at 26% battery (16gb galaxy S3 running CM10.1 nightly 01/16). As I went to turn it back on it will boot into the CM splash screen spin a few times and just shut off. I attempted to charge it, and turn it back on but same thing. After that an attempt to get into CWM, which I was able to get in and it shut off while I was in it. I also tried putting the phone in download mode and about the same time frame it took for the other attempts resulted in a shut down.
Any advice? Or am I stuck doing a warranty exchange?

Sounds like its your battery not a hardware problem. Leave it overnight or a couple hours charging and if it indeed boots up its your battery.
If it doesn't then flash stock and test it if the same result then call up that Warranty. I've seen this same issue with other devices where the battery dies at 50%+ and usually replacing the battery fixes the problem. Test your battery for overheating or swollen.

Even better then lol just test it out at work. I'm about 80% its your battery specially if you OV/UC.
I have the t-mobile US t999.
Last night I was having an odd issue with the networking dropping. I've had the phone for about a month, modded since day 1 with a CM10 variation of a rom (sorry, I forget the exact rom). I had no issues whatsoever up until this point. After a few restarts thinking maybe it was a fluke issue with the network, or network signal in my room, the phone forced itself into emergency call mode only. I couldn't get it to come out.
So I decided I was going to odin on a stock rom as I could get it into download mode, that went through successfully. When the phone boots, I get the android taking off (Tmobile 4g) logo. Then the white samsung logo, and it doesn't go beyond this. I know this can take long so I left it there for about an hour, nothing. The phone also displays a blue led the entire time it's hanging as well.
Also worth noting, when I attempt to boot into recovery it just vibrates over and over.
Not sure what my next steps should be. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

after you odin, you need to wipe data/ factory reset to boot. If you can't get into recovery ( Power, Home Button, and Volume Up), then try reflashing your stock image in Odin and check your MD5 sum, so you can rule out a bad download
Thanks for the reply, I'm re-downloading the stock rom now to verify it's integrity and do a new flash. I cannot get into recovery, so we will see after the new flash. Pleading ignorance on one subject, how would I go about checking the MD5 sum to verify the file has no issues?
Additionally I did try to Odin recovery and still could not boot into it, this was however before attempting to re-download and flash a stock rom again.
**Edit//Update** Re-downloaded and flashed stock rom, was able to get into recovery and wipe, booted up fine.
Wow.. great idea for a thread and THANK YOU!!
Perfect timing too cause i need a little help please.
I am not new to android but new to samsung (WOW, didnt realize it would be so different from HTC ont he rooting and flashing side of things).
Long story short. I have a tmo s3. Bought it today and wanted to root. phone was working perfectly as it shoudl on stock rom unrooted. I downloaded the tool kit v7, used that to root adn install TWRP and rebooted into the stock rom that is now rooted. Still everything working perfect.
Here is what i did next and where the issues start.
Downloaded Synergy r290, went to recovery.
Wiped Cache, Dalvik, Data, and System (made a backup first)
flashed the rom and rebooted to system
However, nothing ever happened. I see the samsung logo, then all goes black and nothing happens (left it there for 10min)
I cant seem to get back into recovery holding vol up, home and power either and have no adb access to use that. I AM able to get into download mode which i know i can fix my problem here with odin, but i am just not sure what to flash and where.
Is there an easier way??
Thanks in advance for any help!

If you absolutely can't get into recovery to restore your backup..
Flash the UVDLJA root66 file in this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1949687 via odin. You will have the latest UVDLJA JB update, and will be rooted. From there, install goo manager from the play store to flash TWRP.
After that you're all set to flash whatever you want (just make sure it's for the Tmobile s3).

Just upload the file to PDA and hit start. Make sure to let it finish completely, once the phone reboots, it's done.

Weird problem. When I set kernel frequencies on my phone, they at some point get locked at the maximum frequency. This has happened every time I flash a new ROM or kernel, and I'm worried that it will soon start to affect the battery. I'm using the msmdvcs governor on both kernels that I've tried (stock and faux)

This has happened every time I flash a new ROM or kernel, and I'm worried that it will soon start to affect the battery. I'm using the msmdvcs governor on both kernels that I've tried (stock and faux)
