Hello i have Samgung Galaxy S III i747 from At&t. Recently i was trying to put a new screen to it but when i tried to pop the antenna cable , the antenna cable connector came along with the antenna connector of the mother board. Can that be fixed. I am talking about the little circle shaped connector that it's a part of the motherboard. Thanks.
any help?
Everything can be fixed. But something that small would be no easy feat. You might be better off bringing the phone to a professional who has the proper equipment (soldering / desoldering gun, special tips etc). He may even tell you the board is to damaged and your better off buying a new one.
This is the number one reason I refuse to open any smartphone up. Its far to easy to break something that I can't fix.
Good luck!

this repair will require some soldering, your best bet is to take it to some sort of electronic repair center to get your issue resolved
Hello, I thanks for the help but how would I find such technician?? By the way in a moment of panic I just ended up putting it back together with suer and it worked I couldn't believe it. I hope it stays like that for a while. Also any idea where to get such technician in Arizona. Thanks!

Okay guys... Well Long story short my phones screen doesn't work anymore.
Long story: I was using my phone like usual and when I was finished I put it in my Pocket. I dIdnt realize I had a credit card in that pocket as well, next thing I know I take the phone out and between the screen and the keyboard is the credit card wedged between. I take it out thinking it'll all be fine but when I slide the keyboard Out I hear what sounds like crumbling paper and I look at the back of the phone and there is this black tape looking thing sticking Out From the phone. And now my screen doesn't come on...
I have no warranty I'm just under the one year. What will I have to pay to get this fixed?
I know on inssurance its free but for a new screen its around 50 but what you describe is like you unattatched the whole top half of the phone almost and you'll need a new phone. =[ I think the paper sound is the connection of the display to the phone board.

if you have the tools, you can insert the display ribbon cable yourself but i wouldn't advise it unless you've done it before.

Here in So Cal I go to third party authorized repair centers.. They are authorized to fix phones and they don't have to go by Sprint's policies.. The 2 by my house will swap parts out for free with phones that have other issues.. This lets you get your phone fixed for free even if you have no insurance and they get free publicity..

did you by any chance reset your phone with the phone plugged into a charger - sometimes when i do this, i lose network connection. Try resetting your phone on battery power.
You may have also screwed your IMEA. Search the forums for solutions for this.

Hello,
You still have this captivate? If U have, how much?
SO... My wife recently learned that it's not a great idea to charge your phone with a frayed USB cable. Had I known she was doing this, I would have put a stop to it. Sadly, the OG doesn't work. I can get a flash from the LED and a flash from capactive keys, but no download mode, battery pull does nothing and can't get the computer to recognize it. I'm going to make a few more efforts to revive, but I think it's done. PM me if you are interested and once I'm certain that it's completely gone I will donate.
The silver lining here is that my OG still works and I love it as much as ever.
Hey I've heard a legitimate battery pull fixes this if you're willing to do a tiny bit of manual labor

No, that's the write up that I based my video on. I assumed stevek216 was referring to actually removing the battery from the phone.
Thank you though!

I'm not sure where to find instructions. It takes a weird screwdriver but other than that I think it's just a matter of taking out the bottom screws, removing the back, and carefully disconnecting and reconnecting the battery
You try taking it to sprint? Has it been a year since you got it?

No and No. We didn't buy the phones from Sprint so we have not spoken with them about it. Certainly doesn't help that there isn't a corporate store or repair facility anywhere near me.
If you don't want to do anything with it, send it to me. Would love spare parts lol.

I recently sold my LG and moved to the Moto X; however, if you donate it to me. Hopefully I can try to revive it and see if I can start some builds with it.
Can you send me a back cover? Mine is cracked and I want to replace it.. Thanks!!

Maybe something could be done to coordinate swapping the backs since it sounds like you just cracked the glass and he would only be using it as a dev phone. Like I mentioned in the previous post, I have a few last ditch efforts to try and then will be officially giving it up if they don't work.

I don't mind you sending it first to him to remove the black plating and then mailing me the device with the cracked back plating.
Also, if I happen to revive and you still want it, I'll send it back to you.
sprint doesnt usually care if its warranty or not, ive gone in and had them fix just about anything and they charge me the standard 35 dollar fee if you dont have insurance, the only thing they dont cover is screen/water damage. screens are 100 i believe to swap.
damn i need the back plate too
I'd be willing to send you some money for your front assembly! I got screwed by a Chinese seller when I bought a replacement for my cracked screen. The new screen registered touches constantly when I'll not touching the screen, scratches and discoloration on the ACTUAL LCD (ie not the glass) and my volume buttons got borked during the swap $95 well spent... So I'd could definitely use it since its my daily driver right now. I'd love you man!

Take it by a Sprint Store or even call over the phone to Customer Care. If you have Insurance they will replace it for free, if you don't they will charge you $75 to replace it!

Will they open it up and see that I have taken the tape off the battery terminal and tell me to take a hike? Also, does it matter that I didn't purchase it from Sprint?
Hello everyone.
I recently bought a sgs3 t999l t mobile version with lte capabilities and right away it has 2 noticeable problems. I do not hava a bill nor insurance, so I am going to try to fix it myself. When I first got the phone, the touch screen wouldn't work properly. When I turn the screen off and awake it the touchscreen works again every time. I asked a few repair shops and even samsung themselves but no one really knows the solution. One person said that the digitizer may be going bad. Another person said there may be a bad connection with the touchscreen.. Most of them told me to just replace either the glass or the digitizer and find out but I do not have money to waste. I believe that someone before me may have flashed custom roms and may have damaged it a little because when I first obtained the phone, software update was unavailable due to modifying the phone or something like that. When I checked again a few days later, I was able to update.
My second problem is that my screen cracked straight across the earpiece a couple of days after I bought it and one day before my lifeproof case arrived. I put it in the case and the crack multiplied by 7. My explanation is that the company I bought it from replaced the glass with a cheap non samsung version of the glass. Does anyone have any ideas about what to replace and how?

Samsung will still honor warranty sometimes based on your IMEI. They do have ways to track in Carrier's database. Just give it a try.
If you really have to do on your own, you are looking to replace Digitizer & / or LCD.
I talked to samsung and they told me a cracked screen voids the warranty..
Sent from my SGH-T999L using xda app-developers app
Then your recourse is to replace Digitizer and LCD. Others have tried replacing just the LCD but had limited success. Depends on your soldering skills I guess.
Watch the disassembly vids, for one thing, you dont want to attempt to do just one or the other, another is I dont think you can buy them separately.
Hint: if you do go this route, make sure you buy an assembly that comes already attached to the housing. This will save you a huge headache!

If its connected to a motherboard, do I get a different imei number and possible blacklist from t mobile? Isn't that all connected?
Sent from my SGH-T999L using xda app-developers app
If its got its own motherboard, yes itll have its own imei. But itll only be blacklisted if it were stolen or reported lost. If you still have yours you can always swap them out. Its very easy to do.

You have been very helpful. How do I thank you using the xda app? One more thing. Will a screen &/or digitizer from t999 version work and fit on my t999l?

Ive been told the screen and digitizer is interchangeable. You might want to get a second opinion, but im pretty sure youll be fine with it.
