Can someone compile a SBC please??? - Sprint Samsung Galaxy S III

Hey I was wondering if anyone can compile a sbc kernel for me and others who want it I'm using a 4300 Mah battery and I hate it when the charging stops after it reaches 100 and then starts to drain but Im using blazer Rom
Sent from my SPH-L710 using xda premium

Good luck with that, I haven't seen that type of kernel since the og evo days and it was a giant **** storm of people accusing the kernel of "damaging" their phone.

Ya I came from the evo og before this phone and before that I had the Samsung epic og and both of them had at least a flashable zip of just the SBC so I was only wondering if anybody if they had a little free time that they could compile one for me and others and plus everybody knows that you do this at own risk my evo I had it for a year and plus the extend battery and always had the SBC on it
Sent from my SPH-L710 using xda premium

the SGS3 doesn't have the same voltage drop the Evo had when charging. This actually charges to 100% where the Evo would only go to ~92%. why I ask you?

I dont have that battery problem on my S3. We don't need SBC, along with the risk it brings. Once I'm at 100% and unplug it, it stays there a while before it drops.

So sick of battery life on this phone.....

Ugh.
I've been through most ROM's and numerous Kernels. Sense ROM's. AOSP ROM's Froyo. GB.....
I am still absolutely totally frustrated by the battery life.
I am currently running SR4 with Lou's number 8. SetCPU with screen off setting 245000
I unplugged my phone at 8:04 this morning. Some light Foursquaring, light Facebook chatting (about 10 messages in total) 4 minutes of phone calls
And I'm down to 67% at 10:11 am.
Totally, totally frustrated by all this.
Facebook chat is constantly cheecking for new messages, turn that junk off.
Have you experimented with undervolting? I can get a day out of my phone pretty easily. Original stock battery that came with the phone on day one, too.

I'm using stock battery as well but with the original cm7.0.3 kernel. which kernel do you have and where can I find it?

I also get at least a day of moderate use. I use chad's incredikernel, the new beta 2, as well as his undervolted script in his op. Check in the dev section.
I can also say that the cm7 / incredikernel combo works extremely well as far as battery life and performance. Can definitely get through the day with moderate use on a charge on the stock battery.
Sent from my ADR6300 using XDA App
it sounds like there might be something keeping your phone awake or you got a bad battery? I've been running SR4 with Lous 8 and easily get a full day's use out of it. bump charge gives me a couple extra hours of juice too. stock battery btw
Also, if you do not have a constant signal, you can say goodbye to your battery. I work in a plant and my phone searches in and out for signal all day. Sometimes bounce from 0-2 bars all day. It doesn't help that I live out in the boonies either
I unplug my phone at 6am every morning and a few text messages and a couple emails later, I'm looking at 25% at 9am.
To back that up, I went to Charlotte this past weekend, I had full service. My phone was off the charger Thursday at 3pm, and headed to Charlotte. My phone did not die until Friday night/ Saturday morning. And I constantly used Facebook BC I was so happy I had enough signal to have it load everything and text like crazy when I went out with my friend.
And now I'm back home, back at work ... enjoying this 3-5 hour use of a battery.
SN: I am using the stock battery. ROM and Kernel is in the sig.
I can take any z rom with ziggys bfs wo havs kernel and get a full fay with moderate to heavy use. Display at 30% brightness an i turn off 3g while driving, use wifi at my house. Do all myfacebook thrubrowser unless i need to upload a pic.. any syncing app is going to kill your battery. I sync the minimum.

I'm using the second beta of Chads Incredikernel. It can be found here:
http://chad0989.dyndns.org/2.6.38.6-incredikernel-beta2.zip
I'm also using an undervolt script that he made, and made some adjustments for even better battery life. There are 3 different undervolt scripts on his downloads page ( http://chad0989.dyndns.org/). They are:
setvdd_levels-4202011_signed.zip
setvdd_levels-5052011_signed.zip
setvdd_levels_signed.zip
The bottom one with no date is the most aggressive, giving you the overall lowest voltages for your CPU. But, it may result in reboots, depending on whether or not your phone will be stable with such low voltages. The 4202011 one is a bit less aggressive, but should be stable on more phones. Finally, the 5052011 one is the least aggressive out of them, but it should be stable (your mileage may vary lol).
If you get reboots with one, flash the next one thats not as aggressive and hopefully it'll work for you. If you get reboots on the least aggressive one, just remove the 95havsvdd file from /system/etc/init.d.
I hope I helped you (and anyone else that may have read this hefty post! Lol)

I think what you would find if you had a pile of phones at your disposal is that they are all like that. What I would suggest is buy the extended battery from Verizon and have a fatter phone. You will make it through the day on that I would think. GL!

try this
Two things that will kill your battery faster than anything:
-Anything that syncs
-your screen
So, turn your brightness and screen timeout down and turn off anything you don't need syncing all the time, or at least turn the sync frequency down.
Also, keep your wifi, vibration, tactile feedback, and gps off unless you really need it.
Kernels, roms, undervolting...no where near as effective.
Think about your phone as a smaller version of a laptop (which it pretty much is), what's going to save you the most energy: throttling your cpu speed, or turning the screen brightness down?
Much love brother

Recommend a good old phone/good battery

Can you guys recommend me a good/older phone with a full keyboard and has a good battery life? I'm looking into the samsung rant,or even the lg lotus (which I had and was pretty decent).I'm seriously thinking of switching back to an older phone from this Epic.
Reason being; I need more battery life.I've tried all the tricks to get more battery life.but none work or they might work but make my phone not stable.
I'm kind of looking into a 3500 mah battery off ebay but don't know yet.

Thanks for the eg22 rom recommendation.I've tried alll roms though.but when I try a rom that requires an undervolted kernel or tweaks to get the most battery life,I get problems.sometimes camera doesn't work.I'll get random fc's .and this is very important to me.sometimes ill be stuck with no phone due to this. Yes please tell me how this works out. I've tweaked mine and get a solid 8 hours of heavy use. More if I spread my blows. I did so many configs with apps on stock ec05 that I will just guess when I update it to latest soon. I can use an extra 4 hours if not more and looking into ebay soon. 8 bucks is hard to beat for that. 2 extra for a case to it to.

Yeah man,im expecting it tomorrow,so hopefully it works for me.the major issue for me,was that I can't get a simple gps directional use without wasting half the battery on that.
Plus, when I go to "music festivals" aka raves.I/ most of the people there tend to get horrible signal.u can't risk getting lost and without signal there.
Or
When u really need to make a call.emergency calls.u wouldn't be able to dial out cause of bad phone battery life.
..
I payed like 8 bucks free shipping off a seller from texas for the 3500 mah battery plus battery cover.ill let u know what's up with that. Way faster shipping for about the same price u can get it off a hong kong seller.no offense to china.lol.

Random rebooting

For the last week or so my phone just reboots, not sure what is causing it ? I did notice the battery is a little warm but not always it does this 3-4 times a day. I switched roms and kernals with no result. Is my phone junk?
Sent from my HTC Droid Incredible ADR6300 using XDA App
I'd go back to the earlier kernel/rom first (at least another kernel) before saying phone is totaled.
Also know your rom, most aren't vanilla and might be running stuff you don't usually want/need. Turning off, freezing, or uninstalling some of that might help. Grab something like watchdog lite and see if you can pick out what's using most cpu and if you can do without it.
You could have also overclocked too high or made some change the kernel that caused some instability. If you didn't mess with any of that, then I don't know what else to tell you.
If I've helped you, hit the thanks button!
Well thanks for the advice but I've already checked those areas and only ran the kernals that the builders had with the roms. On another note my battery temp hovers around 100 F at idle and goes up when in use, I've noticed reboot when using gps or playing words and sometimes youtube. Might need new battery anyone have any temps to compare?

Do battery calibration after each flash to new ROM, also make sure you are not too undervolted which makes the battery work harder. And do not bump charge battery is set to 100% at about 95% of battery to save battery life. 100% is the worst state a battery can be in.

You could always try flashing the stock RUU from your computer then run your backup. The stock RUU has been known to solve many issues.

I have a battery widget and it fluctuates 3.8-4.05 V but the battery rates at 3.7V ?? Most of the reboots are when the battery is 30% or lower. Last night the battery got to 109 before rebooting while I was using it on the charger. Then vibrated 3 times while the screen was off??? Hopefully this phone makes it 1 more month til new phones hit Verizon.

Thinking of Trading my Droid Charge for Inc 2...

Hey everyone, I'm considering a trade to a Inc 2 from my Droid Charge and I was wondering if you guys/girls could help me make up a decision. Let me know what you think I should do.
Sent from my SCH-I510 using XDA App
I have a charge and my mom has an incredible 2. I personally like the charge. But the incredible has better build quality and the software doesn't lag as much.
Sent from my SCH-I510 using XDA App
Yea HTCs have the best hardware and mine lagged alot until I loaded a rom onto it.
Sent from my SCH-I510 using XDA App
One of my previous future sailors got the charge... Came back off leave and played with my inc 2 and switched right away. He says the inc2 is 1000 times better
Sent from my Mikrunny'd Vivo_w
Depends on your priorities
The INC2 has a better build quality, a better stock experience (i mean, touchwiz vs sense is a no-brainer) and you dont have to convert your partitions when going from mtd to rfs roms and whatnot
However, the charge has a better screen (not saying the dinc has a bad one, but the charge is just better there) and it has 4g. If you have 4g in your area then that'd be the only reason to keep the charge imo
also our AOSP roms work completely

Evo 3d's 50hr+ battery life...

My dad has the evo 3d and me and him are always clashing and im always looking for ways for my E4GT can win the battle lol.
I think Evo has it in battery life category, my dad just flashed a rom called mean rom http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1466362
and that thing is amazing!
my question is, is the reason why our ics roms have terrible battery life because we dont have a official ics kernel from samsung?
i think you pretty much answered your own question
man eff the evo 3d! worst piece of crap EVER! NEXT THREAD!
I got decent life from FD26. It isn't quite as long as GB was but it's hard to really compare on a 3800mah battery. I still get all day and only need to charge if I rampage on my phone.
Sent from my SPH-D710 using XDA
I'm no evo fan either I just think it was pretty amazing that my dad gets 17 REAL hours of use without a charge
Sent from my SPH-D710 using xda premium
My Mom is running the same rom. She can go 3 days without charging.
And thanks for letting us know the 3D is the worst piece of crap ever. Don't understand the immature posts some people give.
Back on topic, give it some time. When source drops there will be more development toward kernels. Not sure if we will see anything close to the rom on the worst piece of crap ever, but we do have some talented devs. Patience.
Sent from my SPH-D710 using Xparent Cyan Tapatalk 2
3 DAYS?! I've always heard that the Evo 3D was a flop... but apparently not.
My experience with the 3D was not good, then again I didn't do any rooting or use any custom ROMs. My overall opinion of the phone was bad from the way it felt to the gimmicky 3D stuff.
But it's all a matter of preference. Some like HTC and remain loyal to them, others like and remain loyal to Samsung or Motorola, or Nokia or even Apple. Personally I'm loyal only to myself and will pick whatever phone I like best regardless of anyone else's opinions or experience.
Im a heavy user and when I had the 3D and a 3500 mah battery I could pull almost 2 solid full days.
It was a cool phone.
But the E4GT is much better IMO. Better screen, camera, processor etc.
Just my 2 cents.

Agreed, I think our ET4G are the best on the market atm. Can't help but be envious of the battery life that the dev squeezed out of that rom. As far as my Mom's battery life, she has gotten 3 calendar days out of it. Not necessarily 72 hours. Not bad though. It keeps her on the android bandwagon instead of going to the dark side.

I had the evo 3d with senseless rom and a 4000mah battery. I tried very hard to keep the screen on and use the phone till it shut off. Lasted 15hrs. With normal usage I charged it about every 2.5 days. I really enjoyed the phone whether it had 3d or not. It was fast and decent sized. The 3d was over rated and the rest underrated. I'd still have one if I could explain to the boss lady why I need a bunch of phones.
