Hey all, sorry I couldn't post a reply in the original dev forum because I'm too new. Just had a question for the folks using
[ROM] AOKP(Jellybean) Task & Ktoonsez (9/14) and Ktoonz 9.14 kernel.
I can't seem to find "ktweaker" anywhere. Wanted to play with some voltage settings. Closest thing I can find is under ROM Control, under the performance menu I have CPU SETTINGS, which i cant go over 1512 or under 384, and a tab for voltage settings but that tab tells me that my kernel doesn't support voltage control.
Any help would be appreciated
I've attached a screenshot of my kernel for reference.
Thanks!
Based on that screenshot, you're on the kernel that comes with AOKP, not ktoonsez's kernel. You'll find that here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1756776
Once you get that flashed, Ktweaker should appear in the app drawer.

thanks for the reply!
That's odd because I downloaded and flashed from that page. I downloaded the AOKP Jellybean Build 9.14.2012. Is there something I could be doing wrong with flashing the kernel? I booted into recovery, ran the .zip files, wiped caches, fixed permissions and rebooted.

I think all KT kernels now have KTweaker. It's an app in your app drawer, select it then check allow over clocking at the top. Should be good to go.
Think I figured it out, originally I had installed the kernel before booting into the freshly installed rom. I just rebooted into recovery and installed the kernel again. Now my phone is running extremely slow for some reason, gonna try a reboot and report back.
Wow, things are real screwed up now, phone running extremely slow, I see Ktweaker but it force closes, can't connect o mobile network /sigh
Any suggestions?

Do this dude.
Flash my ROM and gapps.
Then flash ktoonsez kernel. Make sure you flash the jellybean aosp kernel.
Its sounds like you haven't read either of the OP's of both the ROM and kernel threads and it also sounds like you flashed the wrong kernel. Read them please.
U didnt install right make sure you clear dav/ cash

hey, very cool, i am excited that there is still a strong user base and I am probably going to flash this tonight!
is this the proper directions?

Well it is for me because I really engoy the lazy governor in the 3/21 release. But I mean it really is all up to the user.

thanks. and i forgot to ask, when it says "wipe cache," i do that in rom manager?
what does the lazy governor do? is that like when the person you voted for doesn't do anything? haha. jk.
3/21 release? it says ICS, i can still use the same kernel for a gingerbread rom?

Yes you sure can use it for GB, and lazy is just a really good mix of different governers. Thus release also has lagfree, which the name pretty much says it all. I hope I've helped! And also I usually do all my wiping in recovery, it tends to work for installs for me better than ROM Manager.
Sent from my ADR6300 using XDA
oh, you mean to start offf the process, you have to wipe the cache in clockworkmod recovery? and somewhere i have to do Gapps, too, right? where in the process would i do that?
i'm hearing great things about cm7, i'm very excited. faster and w/ incredikernel, it's even better battery life, right?
hey, thanks for the advice.
i have cm7 now, the 4/21 nightly with the 3/21 incredikernel!
i can't believe how fast my phone is running now. it used to take forever for me to flip pages on my homescreen w/ multi-live wallpaper. now it's seamless and quick! i hope cm7 doesn't act up. and i will also check out the updates page! is there some sort of notification?
anyways, thanks!

Those tweaks are more like the "Under the bonnet tweaks". You won't see them, because it is internal stuff, thus not visible.

FIRST OF ALL, ALL THE CREDITS GO TO TEAM KANG, NOT ME. I AM NOT EVEN A DEVELOPER. I'M JUST A GUY WHO WANTS TO SHARE THIS AMAZING ROM.

Instructions:
Download the right ROM for your phone
Download Gapps
Move them to GNex's internal storage
Boot into custom recovery
MAKE A BACKUP!
Do factory reset/wipe
Clear cache
Clear dalvik cache
Flash the ROM
Flash Gapps
Reboot
Enjoy!
If you have any questions, feel free to PM me. I will be glad to help. But remember that I am not the developer of this ROM...
I found this ROM to be very stable and very smooth/fast. I found little to no lag with CPU overclocked to 1.4GHz.
Enjoy and remember, I will not be responsible for any issues.
Kernels that I recommend
Also, If you're interested in another kernel (For some reason), I highly recommend Trinity Kernel, although I never tried Franco Kernel...
Here's the link to Trinity Kernel: http://derkernel.com/jb-tuna.php
My favourite are the Faux kernels...i think this is the best choice fast,stable,customizable...
I think Franco,Trinity,Fugumod have some bug and my AOKP rom isn't butter smooth with them....

I was going to report this thread until I saw your post. Thanks for your work with looking out in these threads.

Hey XDA members,
The All-Star team has noticed that there have been several questions being asked repeatedly (which is nothing new in the XDA forums)
and it tends to get... putting it in a nice way... bothersome and unnecessary.
With the amount of ROMs the team has at the moment, it is hard for us to keep track of the numerous amount of questions you may have.
Which is why we have decided to create this post to have any important questions and answers collected in to one thread.
Before you ask any questions on here, please make sure you check everything on this list:
1. Have you checked if the issue has been mentioned before or is currently being resolved
(we kindly ask you to please use the search bar, whether it be in this thread or the ROM threads)
2. Are using the latest version released for the ROM?
3. Carefully read and followed the instructions written in the OP?
4. Made sure your downloads were not corrupt?
5. Are using the latest recovery system? (recommend TWRP):
5. Flashed the ROM with all necessary steps? (i.e. wiping cache/dalvik cache)
6. Attempted flashing alternative kernels/radios?
7. Did not mess around with any critical settings? (i.e. performance settings, DPI, governors/schedulers)
8. Tried properly re-flashing the ROM again?
9. Made sure it is not a hardware issue? (i.e. broken power button, faulty battery)
10. Made sure the internal/external memory does not have any remnant files left used by a previous ROM?
(also, the micro SD card should be properly formatted, recommend to a FAT32 file system if it does not work properly with the ROM)
11. Tried flashing back to stock and installing the ROM again?
12. Try using a USB Jig if phone does not boot up at all and recovery/download mode button combinations do not work?
13. The question does not involve anything about ROM ETAs or ROM requests?
... the check list goes on, but those are the most important questions that are often asked by ROM support when there is an issue.
Additionally, these questions can be applied to any ROM.
If you have checked everything on the list above, please post your question in the following format:
Code:
Issue title: *keep this to a few commonly used words, in that way it can be found through the search bar*
Current ROM:
Previous ROM : *if applicable*
Current kernel:
Recovery system used: *CWM or TWRP*
Detailed description of the issue:
(Please copy and paste this format for your question, thank you)
The team will respond to your question as soon as possible, so just keep an eye out for new posts!
Also, as a courtesy it wouldn't hurt to hit the thanks button for anyone who has been a help. Thank you for your co-operation everyone!
//not sure if this is appropriate, but can this post be stickied? Thanks
This will help a lot. Thank you!

monkeybuttons apparently found a fix, you can find it here.
But before you do that, can you try this:
Go to your phone app/ press the menu hardware key/settings/ scroll down and enable Noise suppression? Once the option is checked off, try calling again and let us know if it works.
If the solutions above don't work, first try flashing an alternative radio. Then try flashing an alternative kernel if there is still an issue.
As a future reference for future posts, can everyone post your questions according to the format mentioned in the OP to look like this?
(example)
Issue title: Phone not working
Current ROM: All-Star ROM
Previous ROM : Old Rom
Current kernel: *Kernel used in All-Star ROM*
Recovery system used: TWRP 2.3.3.0
Detailed description of the issue: Phone does not do... etc

So just got my sg2 back and i upgraded to all-star v6. As this is my first time dealing with new 4.1.2
I have a hard time understanding what the quick settings are used for.(the second row of toggles for WiFi, BT, ext...)
It seems redundant as it has the same options as the power widget buttons at the very top.
Can some one explain how to utilize this better or to remove the toggles.
I like the concept of quick settings as you don't have to navigate the settings menu. But don't like have two of something.

Hm, that's strange. The kernel you are using most likely changed the settings for the accelerometer. Try flashing another kernel for your phone and wipe cache/dalvik as well. If you really insist on flappjaxxx's kernel flash it back again and see if the issue persists.
Now, when you do re-flash the h0tcakez kernel and rotation still does not work, there is not much you can do aside from trying to re-flash everything again including the ROM and kernel and hope that will fix it.
If you took the time to use the seach bar and look through the official kernel thread you would find that there are several people who had the same issue and were able to get it fixed in some way.
As mentioned first in the check list of the OP it clearly mentions to use the search bar to find previous mentions about the issue, trust me when I say "it does wonders".
But as of now it's no problem, just keep that in mind if you ever have an issue next time.

Detailed description of the issue: A bit of a silly question, but is there a way to turn on/off/change the intensity level of the vibrations?
Also, is there a way to have sound + vibrations on at the same time?
Thanks!

Edit: I'm sorry, I have so many questions! :s I also have problems getting sound from the alarm, and my mic for certain apps (ie: wechat) also doesn't seem to work anymore.

About the vibrations, there might be something in settings that can help you. If not, there's probably also an app that can help you. You can change the vibration intensity in settings. Before you click "choose default keyboard", you have to check off the one you want.

Hi guys! First post here. So I just permarooted my G2, and I got a custom ROM up called Andromadus Mimicry ROM – version 1.5.0 (September 4, 2012). I'm trying to overclock the phone, but I can't find the exact .zip file that holds the kernel?
Here is the link to the developer's site.

Well I don't think you'll find this kernel in a flash able zip, you will find the boot.img in the full ROM zip you downloaded (that is the kernel bty) but really you don't need to play with that yourself to overclock, just go into settings and do so under performance.
If you prefer there some nice apps which may make it simpler like setcpu and kernel tuner, also have had good luck with ilwt tools and other dameon controllers found on the market and often free to download within these threads.
But really I found mimicry to run great on stock settings, of course half the fun with android is to try stuff on your own!
Good luck, oh and always make a backup before changing things too much

I already am using SetCPU. There was a problem with SetCPU before that whenever I went into it, it said it didn't have Superuser access. Which was weird, because Superuser said it did. But of course, now I went to check and it's overclocking fine with no errors. Problem solved itself...somehow. LOL.
