[Q] Getting error:device not found on adb - Galaxy Y GT-S5360 General

I get that error when I try to move my framework-res.apk to the phone. I was told that I needed to download some drivers. But Google is not helping me there.

You'll have superuser if all you did was follow qbking77 no you still need to get an su.zip and flash it in recovery.
Download this :http://db.tt/k27ybNxy
To flash turn off the phone and hold the camera button volume down and the power button until the 4 lights turn on. Then follow this.
Once in clockwork mod to navigate volume up and down and to select use the camera button.
1. Select *install zip from sd card*
2. Select *choose zip from sd card*
3. Find the su efgh.zip it should be in the downloads folder. And selet it
4. Choose to install and say yes.
5. When its done press the back button (light up button)
And choose reboot system now.
Viola done now you have superuser.

Sent from my SPH-D710 using XDA
It does not work with the Epic. You need to use Odin. To start off, read this link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1564866, then search the forums for ODIN to download http://forums.androidcentral.com/ep...68-how-factory-restore-fix-bricked-phone.html. Just remember to READ carefully the how to instructions so you're not back here posting "help! I bricked my phone!".

Ubuntu and Flashtool and 7z files

I've just spent about 8 hours trying to get Ubuntu installed on my slowly failing PC (I was on xp so decided change was needed).
I finally did it, now I'm getting "Archive type not supported" when trying to open the 7z file.
I downloaded the Linux version of Flashtool so how do I install it? I can't get my internet dongle to work (there's another thread if Google doesn't help) so either how do I open it or what's a good 7z file opener?

Wait a minute, I don't know if I'm on Ubuntu. That's just what I associate with Linux. Apparently I'm on Nautilus 3.2.0. I thought it was Ubuntu 11. something (the latest non-beta version).

Paraphrase: package 7zip full not available... referred to by another package. It has no installation candidate.
I thought Linux was supposed to be better and easier...

I'd slap myself if I could be bothered. I'd like to blame that on alcohol but I doubt being sober would have made much difference.
I'm on the Software Centre bit, it looks like it needs downloading. Connecting to the internet is on my to-Google list. I downloaded a p7zip thing to my phone, copied to PC, but I don't know how to install it. I've unzipped it, that's as far as I got.

Those udev rules appear in the Flashtool installation site. And certainly "udev rules Android Ubuntu 11.10" will get you good results in Google.
By the way, you'll be thankful for command lines once you need to do something a bit adventurous. They'll save you untold amounts of time

Huh? you have to create a rules file, not type it in the terminal.

Oh. I did consider that. It was 50/50, I knew I'd pick the wrong one.
Sent from my R800i using XDA
What do you call the file?
Sent from my R800i using XDA
99-android.rules would be the name, and the folder would be "/etc/udev/rules.d". You need superuser permissions in your Linux installation to edit something there.
User friendly way: enter terminal and type:
Code:
sudo gedit /etc/udev/rules.d/99-android.rules
[insert the proper rules and save the file]
sudo restart udev
And that should make the trick with the udev rules.
XPlay-Swype
Thanks. I could open Flashtool yesterday; today I get Permission denied.

[Q] My Phone is Dead because of ROM Manager. What should i do next?

Oke for the first time in my life, my Galaxy Gio cant come back to life and cant survive from the bootloop
Sorry if you're tired see thread like this, i know i just stupid one, Installing ROM Manager without care about the risk
So what should i do to fix my Galaxy Gio from dead? Send it on Samsung Center? No its expensive!
JTAG Box is hard to find in Indonesia (Yeah im Indonesian) so it cant be solution
I really appreciate if you want to help me
The only working way is the service center, on what I've read, everyone has got their gio repaired for free.
If it really IS expensive, you have to take the cheapest option, which is either buying a new gio or having it repaired at a cost
