Hi there,
Does anyone know what is max CPU speed on HTC Desire(bravo) GSM ??? But it has to be stable and realiable speed, with good performance. I am using No-Frills CPU software to set my CPU speed, and my max speed that I can set is 1.267,also it can be chosen slower speed.
So is software right, can I set it to max(or lower then max) speed and it wont brick or anything ???
I use Supernova XTREME ROM if that tells anything.
Thanks for answers,
Cubbe
mine is always set to 998 max (usually thats default) never needed to change it. soo if it aint broke dont fix it comes to mind

No fixed answer. Every hardware is unique. Try some settings and see what works for you.

I Have Htc Wilfire on 2.3.3 Running Cyanogen Mod Can I Over Clock It ?
Yes
You can find it under Settings->Cyanogen Mod settings->Performance
ye but which is the best like speed cos i dont want to break it ?
and is it max Cpu
It depends on you and your need.
And afaik all the speeds listed there are safe, but your phone MIGHT be unstable at 768.
thanks ill go in the 600 section thanks bro
I personaly have it at 729 and it's running as smooth as butter.
Just watch out that higher frequency=more battery drain.
I have 176mhz as min and 710mhz as max. no problem so far
min ----245MHz
max----614MHz (normal)
max----710MHz(gaming)
governor- interactive
gives the best result...
normal usage with live wallpaper(nexus)--30hrs backup appx
I have htc wildfire s ...i hav rooted ...i want to overclock it 806 mhz.....pls tell me the procedure to overclock..
I am using htc wildfire rom ..pls help
First you need a kernel that supports overclocking.
If you using a stock Rom then look for the kernel that matches your Android version eg. 2.3.3 or 2.3.5 you will find them in the development section posted by Jikantaru
If you install a custom Rom then it will most likely have an overclockable kernel baked in.
To change clock settings I recommend 'no frills CPU' search it in the market or you could use set CPU.
Once you install one of the above apps then change the min and max sliders to the desired frequency.
if we over clock it much does it effect the speed or hardware of the phone?
Your phone may hang.
There is SetCPU for XDA members:

You will definitely get better performance and it shouldn't cause you any problems.
Use no frills CPU I find its better than set CPU, when restarting your phone set CPU doesn't keep your overclock settings even though its set on boot.
As for the govonor settings I would choose smartass2 and noop for the scheduler.
I would keep the minimum frequency on 245MHz it can go lower but it could cause some issues (lag and slow unlocking and waking)
Note: not all cpu's are capable of running at the same speed, I'm lucky mine can run at 806MHz but some people have issues.
If you notice any problems like freezing etc, then drop the speed to a lower frequency until you find the sweet spot for your CPU.
I had mine at 806 MHz with no problems

so it wont cause hardware problems only lagging and other stuff

Should be fine mate.
But remember if in the very unlikely event something does go wrong I wont be held responsible.
youll have to need an overclock kernel for that. (and a rom which supports one)
go for dust kernel or cake kernel! These two are well known for high end kernels!
Hi All
I am using the CM10 rom and within the settings there is performance to adjust the processor speed, I set it to max for e.g 1000mhz but after a while it reset's to 475mhz but this makes my phone dog slow!
Is there a fix for it to stay at 1000mhz at least?
Kind regards

Hi folks,
I am getting some issues when i have the governor set to interactive and the low speed set to 245 on my G2 andromadus JB 4.2.2
kernel 3.0.068-gb57022d-dirty
it appears to be that at some point in the phone operation it will seem to get stuck at the 245 speed making the phone usage unbearably slow.
When i set the governor to performance it runs pretty smooth.
it will run smooth in interactive/ondemand with low set to 245 for a while after boot but eventually the performance will start to decay if left in interactive.
any ideas on what to do here. how to find the actual issue or resolve the symptom?
if i bump the low speed to 786 it runs ok but sucks down battery a bit fast.
Jb isn't too stable for our device..that's y it lag..also Ur clock speed is far too low..u can run 245 on GB..as GB is much more stable than jb for our device. Performance governor is smooth as the phone run at max speed full time, doest need time to scan for the frequency to bump up.

yeah thats likely. still it does seem to something to do with google now or location services in general.
Hi i have ARHD on my phone with the XM Kernel. I was slightly suprised in the Trickster MOD app, the max clock speed is 1.3ghz. Yes i know i can OC to 1.5 but im not sure what is setting this. When i had ARHD installed with stock kernel it was showing 1.3 as default. I assume that was set by the ROM. But i installed this kernel and still has 1.3 as the default.
Also the default govenor settings for the gaming one has the boost_freq set at 1300000, which is 1.3ghz, that can be changed to 1.5 also. But surely the boost freq would be the max freq no matter if you move the slider to 1.5 in the basic controls? But i would be suprised that the gaming govenor would underclock the cpu, surely for gaming you would want the phone maxed out?
Is this expected with the XM Kernel and the ARHD? And if so, is there any things i can change in the govenor settings to make sure it performs at absolute max?
It's kernel related; Xmisters' kernels since 188 have a hard cap(1.3Ghz) by default, but using trickster mod, or another o/c apk, you can raise it to the stock 1.5Ghz(tick 'set on boot' to ensure it stays at 1.5) The best settings are trial and error, tbh, I use touchdemand/sio though smartmax seems to be the best balance.
Thanks for the answer. i can change it to 1.5 easy enough, but if you look in the govenor control, the boost_freq is is set to 1300000. If i left it at that, would it prevent the cpu from going up to 1.5?

you have sleep (lowest CPU can go), ideal freq(the speed the CPU aims for while awake), touch poke (when you touch the screen), boost (what it boosts too to prevent lag) and max (CPU flat out)
Setting the boost to 1.3 will still allow the could to run at full speed.

That makes sense, cheers. So its probably a good idea to leave it as it is then.
