I replaced my digitizer due to my cracked screen. When i power up the phone all i get is a solid white screen. The phone was rooted, but i do not have the SD card that i used at the time. Does this make a difference? what can i do? I am terribly frustrated as i need my phone for my business. I would greatly appreciate the help!
Make sure all 3 ribbon cables are connected properly. And did you by some chance crack the LCD also?

I unfortunately cracked my galaxy nexus screen. I am still able to use touch screen functionality but i hate looking at cracks. Do I have to buy a complete LCD/digitizer combo to replace or can I just get LCD replacement? Any help would be much appreciated.

I would replace the whole combo if I were you. The glass and digitizer is so close welded together it isn't for anyone to separate and change one of those two.
I don't know if the glass is even sold separately?

Check out this thread, he managed to only replace the glass. However, I'd say that it's probably more difficult/finicky than replacing the entire assembly.

So my screen has been cracked for a while now, and I just found out from asurion that I cannot make another claim for like 8 months
I have been using it up until last night when the screen stopped working all together. The soft keys light up, but the screen remains black. Phone still makes noises from notifications and the led lights up as well. Does anyone have a phone that is dead that possibly I could take the digitizer from and try to make mine work? They are expensive as hell on ebay, as they all seem to work still, just cracked. What should I do? Any info would really be appreciated. Thanks guys
The digitizer has nothing to do with the screen turning black. Your actual lcd/screen is gone bro.

No insurance? funny... but good phone that Sensation is.
I broke the lcd on my Inc2, so i bought a new one and installed it and the screen works great visually. But for some reason only the top half works when i touch it. I have read about the diag nbh file but i can only find it for in the IncS. I tried factory reset and going back to complete stock to no avail. Does anyone have any solution or ideas that i can try??
Looks like a faulty digitizer to me.. May have been damaged during the install too..

I was thinking that also, but the problem is idk how I would be able to find out if it is faulty.
There's a kink in the ribbon cable

First time I replaced my digi I had to open it up again , the connections are very sensitive , they have to fit in the clip perfectly, try re connecting the ribbons and make sure the pins go into the right spot . at least then you'll know if its defective or not

Do I need just the top screen and the digitizer? Does anyone know what the part no. on amazon would be. Thanks

Is the digitizer okay? Responds to touch and isn't damaged? If so, then all you'll need is the glass and a lot of patience.

If all you need is the screen, they run about $15 on eBay. I would suggest watching a few youtube videos of the replacement unless you've previously done so.
And that ladies and gentlemen is why cases are available for purchase. Seriously though, you need some sort of protection for an expensive device like the S3 or the S4. Protect your investment and get a case next time to prevent damage from falls.
See tutorial here.

I tried to replace the screen and I broke the digitizer. I got the replaced through insurance but is there any way to retrieve the data from the old phone with the digitizer being broken??? The phone cuts on and when I plug it into the computer it recognizes it as a camera and shows no files. I tried kies but it says I need to unlock the phone which I cant. Any help is appreciated.
I retrieved my data on my old phone by takomg both phones apart trading out the motherboards amd copying tbe old files to my computer. Them I swapped the motherboards back. The whole process took about 30 min.

I had my glass replaced and now if I press hard enough then the glass touches the digitizer and locks up the screen until the powered button is pressed and screen turned back on. Is there a step I am missing on the new glass install?

You have to get the locus glue to put between the screen and the glass.

Is that a liquid or a precut gel type adhesive?

Did you do it yourself or pay someone to do it for you?

Myself. Why? Is that my first problem?

The adhesive should cover the entire glass plate...Not just the edges. ..
The issue you are having is the result of air space between the plate and digitizer. ..
You may want to have it done again. ..using the proper adhesive. ..
And although changing broken glass is a doable project. ..it really should be done by a professional if possible. ..imho...g

I have the LOCA on the way. Any tips? Cover the entire non viewable parts of the glass?

I have the same issue. I just got my glass replaced by a repair shop and it touches right in the middle of the screen if I push more than gently. It was really apparent initially, but after a few hours it stopped, even if I pushed harder than normal (not more than would be expected by average use though). However, once I put it back in my jeans pocket this morning it started touching over a larger area, and still hasn't gone away. I told the shop I'd like to bring it back in once they have more screens in stock (I got the last one).
They said they'd done two Note 2s earlier that day, so I assume they know what they're doing. Is it possible to cause permanent damage if I use my phone like this for the next few days?
