Replacement glass touches digitizer - AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note II

I had my glass replaced and now if I press hard enough then the glass touches the digitizer and locks up the screen until the powered button is pressed and screen turned back on. Is there a step I am missing on the new glass install?
Sent from my GT-N7105

You have to get the locus glue to put between the screen and the glass.
Sent from my SGH-I317 using xda app-developers app

Is that a liquid or a precut gel type adhesive?
Sent from my GT-N7105 using xda premium

Did you do it yourself or pay someone to do it for you?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I317 using Tapatalk 4 Beta

Myself. Why? Is that my first problem?
Sent from my GT-N7105 using xda premium

The adhesive should cover the entire glass plate...Not just the edges. ..
The issue you are having is the result of air space between the plate and digitizer. ..
You may want to have it done again. ..using the proper adhesive. ..
And although changing broken glass is a doable project. ..it really should be done by a professional if possible. ..imho...g

I have the LOCA on the way. Any tips? Cover the entire non viewable parts of the glass?

I have the same issue. I just got my glass replaced by a repair shop and it touches right in the middle of the screen if I push more than gently. It was really apparent initially, but after a few hours it stopped, even if I pushed harder than normal (not more than would be expected by average use though). However, once I put it back in my jeans pocket this morning it started touching over a larger area, and still hasn't gone away. I told the shop I'd like to bring it back in once they have more screens in stock (I got the last one).
They said they'd done two Note 2s earlier that day, so I assume they know what they're doing. Is it possible to cause permanent damage if I use my phone like this for the next few days?

I don't know. What should they have used? I'll ask what they used when I go back in to get it fixed. Do you know why/how it's happening?

I just replaced the glass on a note 2 and the soft keys and home button arent working, do they have to be stuck to the glass? Everything else is working great like i said its just the bottom keys. Thats guys for any help!

I dropped mine from about 5 feet in the air onto solid concrete. It landed directly on the back side (battery cover) and hardly marked my back casing and nothing happened to the phone at all.
No screen protector or case.

No, it cracked from about a 6 inch slide. That's the worst part about it. There's not a single mark on my phone because it was in a case when it happened. I called Samsung and they have to evaluate whether the damage was caused by me or some sort of manufacturing defect. I'm almost positive they're gonna rule against me despite how ridiculous the circumstances were.

It was just some plastic case that Target (ironically) had on clearance. I kinda regret that decision...
It mostly depend on the point of impact. If you dropped it directly at it's corner, it'll most likely crack. And I feel the screen on this phone cracks way too easily. I've dropped it once on my bed. Luckily the screen didn't crack.
I have minor scratches on my screen from I have no clue what, I've had a case on it since day one and never lay my phone on its front only on the back and it has minor but noticeable scratches. Annoying and very weak GG

I work at a cell phone repair store. We charge like 275 for the repair and a good quality part will run like 225. I have fixed like 30 gs3s so far and I am going to warn you now..... Do not attempt to just replace the glass. I you will just be wasting your time. To the guy that said it is manageable, until you try it yourself, please don't give advice like that out. It very much is not manageable to do. But if you have any experience repairing phones, just order the screen plus lcd yourself and do it. It is very easy on the gs3

Depending where your at I would google search repair centers and call around for the best price. If that doesn't work perhaps Craigslist? I met a really cool tech guy off there and he works on mainly iphones but knows a lot about android devices as well.

It isn't about the quality, the screen is curved in the edges so it becomes extremely weak there, one unlucky corner drop that avoids the plastic bezel and hits the screen and welcome cracks.
Now i dropped mine many times and found that the phone drops on it's back most of the time and survives, but i almost broke it when it dropped on the side, luckily it hit the bezel and there was no damage, not even a scratch/bend.
So yep.. luck.

Cracked Screen or Digitizer?

How would I go about finding out what's cracked on my phone? If I'm correct there's a digitizer, touch screen and the glass.
The top is cracked, but how would I go about finding out if the pieces under are cracked without opening the phone?
Just want to double check before buying anything.

If the screen still responds to touch and there aren't any dead pixels, then its just the glass itself. Basically if everything looks and works as it should, then the only thing damaged (in your case) is the glass.

Screen scratches easily?

I just got my Nexus 7 (2013) a few days ago and there is a thin scratch in the middle of the screen. The thing is, I don't even know how it got there. Its not connecting to the bezel or the end of the glass, so I don't think its a scratch. Should I bring it back? Or will they just say its my fault? Anyone else notice their screen scratching easily?

I noticed a very fine scratch on mine also. I had been putting it screen face down when I place it down somewhere to protect the screen, should something fall on it. I don't know how it got the scratch but it is annoying. I now put it screen up when I put it down somewhere though.
The silicone adhesive on the 'hard' screen protectors will fill it in for the most part.

Tragic Accident! My fiance dropped her HTC One

Ok so me and my fiance went on a road trip to visit my family for New Years. She accidentally dropped it when getting out if the car. Well...personally I would heat that one up and remove it to be replaced by a new grill. Google the part and also check out a couple teardowns. You might be able to reshape that white plastic once the grill is off too. Good thing she didn't get the glass !

I would take a look at a teardown guide. See if you can get a busted htc one on ebay to replace the back part or just try and bend the section that is bent.
There are some tear down guides on iFixit and also on youtube. Would post links but I don't think that is allowed.
the same exact thing happened to me. Dropped the phone, dented the upper right hand corner. What i did was buy one of those invisible body shield cases and put it on.

Actually I think it's both. Every teardown guide I've seen mentions having to heat up the phone to soften the adhesive. Here is someone on XDA that braved a teardown before sending the phone back for replacement anyway:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2353895

I saw one where the dude pulled it apart without heat, and showed there was no adhesive at all. Someone said something in the comments about how it'd be easier to use heat, and apparently this guy had done it both ways and the only difference is that using heat makes it hot as balls and hard to handle.
