CPU - Samsung Galaxy W I8150

Hey anyone can solve my problem?
I have flashed forvivo kernel. When i newly flashed it there was no problem at all. After 2 days using it my cpu stuck at 1.7 ghz / 1.4ghz with non OC
And i'm using the smartassv2 governor and sio scheduler. This problem persist when i rebooted my phone at the 2nd day after flashing the mod and then my processor stuck and won't go down. And this makes my battery drains so fast
Anyone knows the solutions or the problem that happens to me? Other user said that they don't encounter this kind of problem. I already try reflashing the rom and then the mod with the proper step but still the same
Please help me

[Q] How do you overclock your Gio?

Hey guys, i got cyanogen mod 7.2 installed on my phone, and whenever i tried to change the max cpu speed from the settings, it would now work after boot. Most of the market programs i use freeze as soon as i try to apply my changes. I got "No-frills Cpu control" to work once, so i made it 844 max clock speed. (I confirm using android system info app"). EDIT: after another frozen reboot, the clock speed has gone back down to 787 again -_- . So frustrating!!
So i was wondering, which app do you use to overclock your gio that doesnt freeze?

Set your overclock, thick set on boot and reboot your phone!
Alright, so i got my max set to 864 and min to 245, and while im using it i get a bunch of random reebots every 3 min, and one sleep of death where it wont wake up unless you pull battery -_-. Using built in overclock still

use set cpu.set max 844 is good for gio then tick "set on boot"
I feel that the Smartassv2 cpu profile consumes more battery than the On demand one. Anyone here think the opposite?

Possible. But smartass also gives more performance than ondemand governor

Which is the best governor for gaming performance?
Performance or smartass v2
Sent from my GT-S5660 using xda premium
For performance the best governor is "performance". It causes that processor overclocking is always the highest. It means that if you have overclcked processor at 921MHz, with this governor phone will always work at 921MHz. But don't use it, it drains battery as hell
The best governor for daily use is SmartassV2, because it's balance between performance and battery
And sorry for my English :|
Na szczęście jest TapaTalk
which 1 is best for daily uses????
i am using smartassv2 but sometimes my phone becomes very very slow takes 1mint to slide the status bar phone apps etc.....
what is i/o schedular??? is it effect the speed?? which 1 is best???
Now I just use the On demand governor. Smartassv2 drains my battery pretty fast

Yup,any overclock will drain your battery quicker, this is very logical as you consume more power, right?I use No Frills CPU control, and i have my galaxy Gio set to 921 Mhz....! It realy works like asmall little pocket rocket now...I was already very satisfied with the price/performance ratio of this cheap little phone, but now with this stable OC it really hits it out of the park!!!No complaints from me about this phone..I'm gonna try and achieve an even higher oc,but it's really not a must, just want to know how far i can push it.No Frills has a benchmarker impemented ,very handy.

That's true. But smartass is just like balance between perfomance and battery drain, which makes it the best governor

How to solve battery drain problem in Ics Beta

Hi guys. Im using Ics beta with Ka11 rom. But battery drains fast. How can i solve this problem ??

Helps if u put what kernel your using? I think some still don't have deep sleep... mine hasn't I'm on doom kernel with oc
Sent from my R800i using XDA
charge to 100% then go to cwm and wipe battery stats
There is some info I saw saying underclocking whilst screen off helps, but be careful because if you get it wrong your screen won't come back on.
Sent from my R800i using XDA
Wifi is stopping deep sleep afaik. Switch off wifi when you're not using it
i use doomkernel v11 oc to 1.2ghz. and im not use my play for call just gaming and internet.off the wifi and on the plane mode and set profie in setcpu when screen off set to powersave governor.i left it at night and the battery still at the same % in the morning.
hmm. i want undervolting but i cant do that. how can i do that. which settings ? and, what's the best Cpu governor. I dont know what is ondemand, powersave etc. And i set CPU Profile to Min 134 Max 806. And rom is still Smooth. my wifi is closing but still battery drains fast.

For undervolting try IncrediControl. Best CPU governor? Depends on you but personally I like smartass v2 . BTW I'm using KA11 ICS Rom with DooMKernel and my battery life is quite good
The way to get best battery life on ICS Beta is to install DooMLoRDs Advanced Stock kernel. This has fully working deep sleep, as it uses the stock Sony kernel, but also has CWM, root etc.
That's the only kernel I recommend at the moment, until we get the newer kernel sources.
Also use SetCPU or some other app to underclock when your screen is off.

When not on wifi its like im not using any battery at all (maybe max is -1% battery level per hour.
I am overclocked at 1.4ghz max and min is 576mhz (ondemand governor) and I use Sytem Tuner (the best all in one system tweaker for me ). I set my screen off behavior to 921mhz conservative governor (this will underclock my phone while im not using it). My read/write cache is 6144mb. I use Juicedefender and set it to advanced mode and let it underclock my phone when idle as well. Im using .62 firmware and JokaWild Rom v2.5 with Xperia S Package. My kernel is Doomlord's kernel v11 and I do not have any battery issues. I always have a good and not corrupted nandroid backup as well as Titanium backup in case my phone gets crazy.

[Q] Why is my phone lag after each reboot?

I'm running doomkernel which is the #3013 and stock Rom. Baseband is .42, R800i. I'm having some lags if I reboot my phone sometimes and even if I go to the app drawer or I simply just go to some home screens. It's quite lag actually. So after every reboot. I have to select the oc app and set the frequency and only it'll be smooth. I tries using zepp's v6 super charger but it 's the same. Should I flashback everything to stock and redo all over again? (like flash to stock kernel and back to dooms) Sorry if I make a mistake for mot using the search button because I'm using my phone.
Sent from my R800i using XDA
dont set the cpu to the lowest frequency .. it also depend on launcher. what governor are u using bro??
Just on demand. Because I just need doomkernel to partition my sd card with app2sd. I just need my phone to respond smoothly. Just a normal frequency with 1ghz. And recurse added with some v6 supercharger.
EDIT : my launcher is just Sony Ericsson's launcher.
Sent from my R800i using XDA
try use smartassv2. or if it dont works.. flash back the stock
One more thing.. What does those governor do? Any difference to be seen?

Foolproof overclocking :)

For all the defy/defy+ users who are unable to overclock even if you are rooted, as I was strangling the same but now found an app on play store named "milestone overclock" specially Motorola devices.....I've installed it n now having the speed of 1.2GHz and my Rom is cm10
sent from defy plus rooted running CM10 with touchwiz theme
One more thing is that.....after rebooting cpu goes back to 1ghz further device may feel heated
sent from defy plus rooted running CM10 with touchwiz theme
U guys also clg that app n let me know your results....also if not working or u have any other way to do the same....plz share it

You can overclock CPU from boot menu, just like in this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cK-NVgWWJ3E make sure you know what value set up before doing that!
There are tons of people saying SetVsel makes Defy+/MB526 reboot or freeze.
You need to have 2nd init and CWM on your phone.
go to bootmenu > system. Enable Overclock and Enable 'enable all modules' and SAVE.
SetVsel should work.and you can always overclock via CWM

Try these
[email protected]
[email protected]
[email protected]
[email protected]
However, the vsel value of the last clock is tricky. Some devices like mine can handle 1200 mhz @ 56 pretty well while others fail to. I even play fifa 12 and gta lll.
Sent from my LT25i using xda app-developers app
I've set the values as [email protected], [email protected], [email protected] and [email protected] running well but don't know why, when I was checking for 1350MHz my cell rebooted and all apps lost their data the XDA app and subway was uninstalled now while m trying to install them back its(play store) throwing an error "unknown error occured while installing the application (-24)"....
I also came to know that how to resolve this error by removing the old data of the app....even though I've removed app data, giving me the same error...
DO I NEED TO FACTORY RESET FOR IT?????
Not to discourage you, but overclocking is never fool proof or completely reliable
Sent from my MB526 using Tapatalk 2
According to me it's foolproof as earlier when I try to overclock it again comes back to 1GHz but now its retaining that clock speed @1.25GHz....yes it costs some battery but nevertheless I got a good reborn Defy plus
Sent from my MB526 using xda app-developers app
Also regarding my last reply where I mentioned loss of application data....I've resolved it actually I've just removed data of those two apps from the sdcard folder not from system data....so after removing it..successfully installed those apps n see m posting from xda app
Sent from my MB526 using xda app-developers app
I used to overclock my defy through bootmenu by [email protected], and it runs just fine.
But know I just overclock it to [email protected] since 1350MHz heats up the phone too easily.
Crossing the value of 65 for vsel will warm ur phone....m on [email protected] it's okay just a little heat up...but runs great

Or you could use setvsel which is specifically an "Overclocking Undervolting Tool for Motorola Defy." No need to use an app made for a different device. Also, with SetVsel you have the option to "apply at boot", which I'm guessing the Milestone app does not have since you're stating that after reboot the overclock configuration is lost.
And then again, you can just do all this through the bootmenu. I use SetVsel together with the option "Limit to VSel 1 while screen is off" since, as far as I know, the Interactive governor does not limit the CPU speed while screen is off/during sleep (unlike Smartass), and every time I change the governor the phone reboots. This works for me and I'm overclocked at 1.1 ghz and still get about 2 days of battery life.

[Q] Setting overclock frequencies on JMT JB8

Ive been trying to set the overclock frequencies on my phone, but they only last for a while then the max freq resets to 1026MHz. Ive tried using AnTuTu CPU Master, No Frills, and Trickster Mod...and they all do the same thing, even when I "Set on boot".
Im using the Tiberius 2.3 Kernel.
Any suggestions as to what I might be doing wrong??
Thanks.
what kernel governors are you using when settings these frequencies ? performance , ondemand, etc.??? have you tried the 2.4 to see if maybe it will fix that issue . @cl3kerner is always on top of things and his Kernel has been updated so try that see if it works if not try reporting in his thread where he would be more than happy to help you
Thanks for the reply. I haven't tried 2.4 just yet, only saw 2.3 when I downloaded it yesterday actually, will look again.
The last configuration I was trying was samsung/row , but all configurations seem to do the same. Perhaps there are some residual files from a previous kernel which is causing this? If so, is there anything I could do to properly clean it out?
Thanks
OK tried 2.4 and getting the same results.
Sent from my SGH-T989 using xda app-developers app
So Cl3Kener helped me solve this. Turned out it was the power saving feature that was limiting the processor speed, as well as battery saver pro. Worth a note I guess if anyone else experiences this issue.
