What do I do I called they said my device is from the UK and I need a replacement also it is the white version
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda app-developers app
So how did you buy the device? If its white then it was from an importer or a site like Amazon or eBay, because that was never sold in the US. Sorry to say, but you have no warranty and Samsung UK has absolutely no obligation at all to help you because you bought a gray market device.
If you bought from a reputable importer, they may be willing to act as a middleman and help you with the warranty. That's the only way you're going to get warranty service done.
I bought it from someone on xda I don't know the history on it or anything

I got it from Amazon today in one day shipping. Just installed my apps and love the phone already. My gs2 needs to go now.
I have two question though.
1. Do they have only one version everywhere? I know the cdma version is a different one, but are all the gsm ones alike?
2. In case I need to get warranty on this, will Samsung be providing it in USA?

Yes and no. All GSM models are the same pentaband phones.. and as for warranty your guess is as goof as mine

I ordered through negri and they handle all warranty claims. Not sure how Amazon does it.

OK, I'll probably never need it but it's always nice to know that the phone is covered. Lucky you! May be I'll talk with Amazon regarding this. Thanks a lot for nice replies.

You may have extra luck because Amazon is good with customer service. But they probably sourced it from one of the UK importers, so that hurts your chances also. Most people are saying that the imported versions have no explicit warranty in the states.

There are a couple threads about warranties. I think people said you can get Asurion (or any other 3rd party, probably) insurance... not sure though.
Looking to get my hands on another Nexus after mine slipped and fell into the ocean last night. Too much liquor I suppose... You guys know anywhere cheaper than here: http://www.amazon.com/gp/browse.html?ie=UTF8&marketplaceID=ATVPDKIKX0DER&me=A1QPS08K9FKKNF
I ordered mine from here but it was $10 more when I bought it. Fast shipping and what I got was a brand new condition unit with all accessories. Nothing wrong with it whatsoever that I can tell.

I don't think you'll find them any cheaper. But if you want it you'd better hurry as there are only 4 left in stock and they sell em fast.
Pay the extra and get from negri or expansys so you have warranty. If you buy from Amazon or newegg you'll only have the return or maybe just exchange period as your warranty.

If you live in the US, you'll currently have zero warranty on the Galaxy Nexus, regardless of where you buy it.

it's weird that the gsm model is still so pricey considering that you can get the lte model off of craigslist under $500 now.

OK, I exaggerated. You get 15 days of warranty where you can exchange the phone. After that, you're left with a likely UK phone in the US trying to get support from Samsung. Ain't happening.

Still try again. Some of us ordered from expansys and negri for a reason. We might have to wait but we have warranty. Cheaper is not always better in this case. Thats why coreyl is laying down awesome customer service in the expansys thread.

Also because of expansys's exceptional customer service i am going to order my car dock from them. They goofed on some orders and coreyl went above and beyond making up for it. Ordering a couple accessories at a premium is the only other way to thank them.

Nope Verizon CDMA handset only. The GSM version would be required for elsewhere

Could you not just buy off contract from Verizon (yeah, $649.99 ) but still have the 1 year warranty?

But just found out it is banned by a fashion fruit company. The carriers are selling it for 499+ 13% tax up there, any place I can get it for a reasonable price?

I am in need of a replacement galaxy nexus because it has a faulty screen and the battery door doesn't stay in anymore anymore. I've looked around on the internet and still can't find what number to call. Could anyone direct me how to get a replacement?

I had some problems with my first Droid, ally, and gnex. As long as you pay to have insurance they should be able to help. Just take it into the store and whatever company you have will be able to help you.

Unfortunately, I am going through the same process. The earpiece totally stopped working and none of the headset toggle apps seem to fix it.
To the question, should I unroot my phone before I send it in to Samsung for them to repair it or do you think its even a big deal? I have heard that most companies don't really care about this anymore.
Well when you root the device your warranty is void so I would probably unroot

Oh I'm well aware of that. I just remember a few people saying some companies just don't care anymore if it didn't involve bricking it. Obviously my rooting the device had nothing to do with the problem at hand. I guess I might as well, just to be safe. Thanks.
Hey guys,
I purchased my note 3 from craigslist brand new, and I broke the manufacture seal on the box. Is there any 3rd party warranty I can get? Square trade doesn't appear to offer warranty for the note 3 and my research online indicates they don't honor phones bought from craigslist

I would like to root this phone which means I will loose Knox warranty though Samsung,so before rooting I want to get a third party warranty in case something happens to this phone. As most 3rd party warranty companies don't care about Knox status

I believe you're fine by rooting it, just don't flash custom recoveryand rom or you will void warranty
