I got it from Amazon today in one day shipping. Just installed my apps and love the phone already. My gs2 needs to go now.
I have two question though.
1. Do they have only one version everywhere? I know the cdma version is a different one, but are all the gsm ones alike?
2. In case I need to get warranty on this, will Samsung be providing it in USA?

Yes and no. All GSM models are the same pentaband phones.. and as for warranty your guess is as goof as mine

I ordered through negri and they handle all warranty claims. Not sure how Amazon does it.

OK, I'll probably never need it but it's always nice to know that the phone is covered. Lucky you! May be I'll talk with Amazon regarding this. Thanks a lot for nice replies.

You may have extra luck because Amazon is good with customer service. But they probably sourced it from one of the UK importers, so that hurts your chances also. Most people are saying that the imported versions have no explicit warranty in the states.

yes, actually the order fulfillment its through Amazon but it its from third party seller. But the seller has pretty good reviews. I'm gonna send him a message to know more about it. Can I buy Att warranty on it anyhow?

There are a couple threads about warranties. I think people said you can get Asurion (or any other 3rd party, probably) insurance... not sure though.

Ahem, sooo I'm am strongly considering trading this phone for a thunderbolt (for the root) and I am just scared that if something is wrong with it, Verizon wouldn't give me a replacement. Anyone know whether this is true or not?
I just don't want to be stuck with a defective phone.

Wait, is your phone defective or are you just wanting root? If its defective (as in something is broken) it would depend on your warranty. From my experience, verizon only replaces a phone with the same one or of equal.
Where are you planning on getting the thunderbolt? If through Verizon or a certified reseller, then you have nothing to worry about. If you buy off cl or eBay, then it can go either way, but most likely they won't help.

I noticed you posted in another thread asking to borrow an XTC Clip. You should search on Craigslist for people that do business unlocking phones, a lot of them have them in their arsenal of tools.

Thank you so much for suggesting this! Immediately went to craigslist, and found this guy in my area:
http://pittsburgh.craigslist.org/cps/2538712939.html
Sending him an email now, and hoping to have S-OFF by the end of the weekend. If you're looking for a clip and haven't tried this, do it. This guy charges 20, which is what I would expect to throw in for use of a clip anyway.

I did this and found a place. I asked them if they used an xtc clip to unlock the bootloader. The lady swore up and down that you actually don't want to do that and that their software will work just fine and that if I unlocked my bootloader I would loose my recovery. So I'm guessing you don't have the warranty anymore?
Would the phone still be covered under manufacturer warranty? Like if the phone itself is defective, can I still get a CLNR?

I am 99% sure that if you trade you phone for another phone on craigslist, you will not have any warranty on the new craigslist phone. Warranty will only cover the original owner. I can't possibly see Verizon condoning people swapping their phones with one another on craigslist. The whole thing just seems real sketchy to me.
From Verizon's website:
"IX. OTHER CONDITIONS:
A. This Warranty or Service Contract is extended to the original subscriber buyer only and may not be assigned or transferred to subsequent subscriber buyers"
This would indicate to me, that if I traded or sold my phone to you, even though I have an extended warranty on it, the warranty eligibility would NOT be transferred to you. I would highly recommend NOT doing this.

So this mean no Asurion or manufacturer warranty? I sure when Verizon does CLNRs they're from manufacturer and not Asurion.

Not sure if it has been said, if so forgive me . I noticed a few people on here that already broke/ lost their phones. If your carrier uses Assurion which I believe every carrier does, the Galaxy Nexus IS semi covered just like previous Nexus phones. I have T-Mobile here in the states, as long as you have the full PHP protection on your account you can file a claim with Assurion. What will happen is you will have to purchase a new Nexus yourself but with proof of purchase they will cover the full cost minus deductible. So, the phone is $700, you pay the deductible equivalent (130 on tmous) they cut you a check for the rest so you get 570 back. No warranty coverage is provided obviously .Just thought I'd share for those that didn't know.

Its the same if you were to go and buy a Galaxy S2 for $529 and do a claim with them , just paying the 130 deductible so if you wanted you can do fraud on any device....you only get 2 claims per year.... I'm not 100% if you have to send it back I'll find out tomorrow when I get to work, but I wanna say that yea, you'd have to send it back.

No. Carriers don't insure phones, Asurion does. Now I remember this was the policy with the N1 and the S I believe as well. Just to be clear I personally have not confirmed this myself, but a few trusted sources informed us here at T-Mobile regarding this.

Looking to get my hands on another Nexus after mine slipped and fell into the ocean last night. Too much liquor I suppose... You guys know anywhere cheaper than here: http://www.amazon.com/gp/browse.html?ie=UTF8&marketplaceID=ATVPDKIKX0DER&me=A1QPS08K9FKKNF
I ordered mine from here but it was $10 more when I bought it. Fast shipping and what I got was a brand new condition unit with all accessories. Nothing wrong with it whatsoever that I can tell.

Hey guys & girls, I'm gonna make it quick:
I need to send my Gnex in.. It has some screen problems, which aren't major.. But annoying in time...
My question is, since the Gnex is taken down from the store, how long will Google/Samsung repair it?
I'm curios, because when I'll wait, I'm scared if my carrier (where I send it from) will say they don't repair the phone cause it's too old... Or is there no "too old device" .. Maybe some people with older devices have some experience..
Thank you in advance.

Well in many European countries (germany included apparently) you are ensured a 2 year warranty by law, which they would have to obey if they sold the product in that country, insurance or not.
So if it's within this time, the carrier, who is the seller in this case would be obligated to either repair it, give you a new product and if the product is out of production, they would have to give you something similar or better.(the time in which the product is produced and sold can not limit this)
