Arc LT15i Overclock and Custom Kernel - Upgrading, Modifying and Unlocking

Hello Guys,
I've visited this great forum for a long time but i couldn't find what i'm looking for, then sorry if it's a noob question or a question that was already answared in other thread.
Currently I'm using the stock ICS 4.0.4 (4.1.B.0.431) on my Xperia ARC LT15i with unlocked bootloader and thinking about overclock it, however, as I said above, I couldn't find a custom kernel that gives me that possibility.
I've researched about DoomLord, Mesa and other ones but I only see custom works for ARC S (LT18) and using ICS 4.0.3.
In case of anybody knows some good kernel for LT15 running ICS 4.0.4 I'd really apreciate if could tell me more about or indicate any research's source.
Thank you folks and sorry if this question is inappropriate.
Regards.

My friend has been using DooMKernel since May and he says that overclocking has been kind of spotty. Sometimes the phone gets really hot and unstable but for the most part is pretty stable.

[Q] Going from Cyanogenmod to ics beta

I am currently on cyanogenmod 7.2 stable release. i wanted to go the Official ICS beta but am unsure how I would do this.
I tried looking everywhere and i cant find anything.
I was looking at installing R800i_4.0.2.A.0.42_Generic_UK that I found on here as Sony Companion will not let me update to 4.0.2.A.0.42 as ! am on a modified mobile.
Does anyone know a better way than this or should i just flash this to my Xperia play and then update it to official ICS and then install Doomlords kernal v03 for ICS?
Any help would be greatly appreciated as I have only ever used cyanogenmod and their Xperia play roms are never that brilliant and wanted to try ICS.
I recommend you stay away from the ics beta as it's bad in many respects. You'll be better off trying cm9 or aokplay
Thanks for the advice. I went for CM9 fxp 125 in the end seems to be working really nice.
Only had one question though and that was in the guide on here it said I needed to update my baseband to .62
I didn't do that but seems to be working fine.
Will I get any benefits to updating to that?
Thanks again XDA members, you the best!

I didn't either, and my phone still works fine.
Yeah I know it works fine just wanted to know if it would improve anything.

Kernel Advice Question

Hey guys,
So I have a freshly rooted Arc S LT18i running ics 4.1.b.0.431
My question is, what kernel is recommended for this setup?
I'm pretty happy with the arc s as it is, I want to get rid of all the bloatware and I might try underclocking/overclocking, and possibly chuck a rom on it later on, so I'm looking for a kernel that will give me overclocking capability with keeping the current setup...
Thanks!

Because you're using GB and not ICS, which most mods are based on these days, so update to ICS and try again.

u cant use it on ICS rom, such as Xperia Ultimate HD 2.0 rom.

i have seen videos on how to update via flash tool but its kinda complicated and still have to flash kernels, is there any other way or an easy way to update my arc? sorry bro for i have so many questions and still i have more.
what rom for GB do u suggest i use for my arc?
Flashing a stock ftf also flashes the included kernel. If you're still struggling with video tutorials or guides then someone else will have to assist as I'm not here to spoon feed for the reason stated in the second line of my guide.

at last my perseverance paid off, lots of reading, searching, downloading and bookmarking and trial and error and came to the point that i almost bricked my ARC. i am now on android 4.0.4 BB-77 with Advanced stock kernel, build# .587 running on xperia ultimate HD 2.0
heres my screenshot.
BTW if there is someone still a noob like me in flashing heres the simplest vid that i found and it work for me, you should have all drivers installed on your pc
do not release the back button until flashing is finished and not all back button are on the right side as seen on flashtool

[Q] Arc S - CyanogenMod

Hi!
First, I am a noob and I don't have time to search for proper thread which may contain answer to my question (sorry).
And the question is: is there CyanogenMod for Sony Ericsson Arc S, because this forum is dedicated to Sony Ericsson Arc only? If it is possible to flash CyanogenMod for device Arc S, may I ask for link with detailed tutorial? Thanks in advance. :good:
Anything for the arc works for the arc s, unless specifically stated by the developer

:good:
You sure? Thank you very much.
And one more question: is recommended to install CyanogenMod on Arc S, i.e. is it stable, is it fast and smooth, does it have any significant bugs or other issues...?
Oh, i can now see that there is no STABLE CyanogenMod 10 for Arc/Arc S... when we can expect stable version?

You don't have time to search? But you do have time to post this and wait for a reply? That's real lazy man, real lazy. You're lucky you got any help with this at all.

Is that true though? I installed Free Xperia Project CM10 yesterday based off JB4.1 because I was under the impression that JB4.2 wasn't designed for the Arc S.
While we are on the subject, is it possible to instal cyanogenmod from the official cm website on my lt18i, or they support only lt15i?

As far as CM is concerned, it's the same phone. CM10 is the latest official version, but if you want CM10.1 then see:

I am not sitting in front of the computer and waiting for the answer, I'm doing my work in the meantime. I didn't even have time time to check for the answers. O.K. I now see your answers, thank you very much, you 'll get thanks below your posts.
But on official download link there is no stable CyanogenMod 10, there is only 9.1

That really isn't anyone else's fault. (Almost) everyone else has a job too. What if everyone else did what you did? The boards would be absolutely filled with the same question, which is very easy to find the answer to if you take ten minutes to do it - and I know, because I did that.

There isn't a stable CM10, but there is a nightly build of it. I know this because I just looked on the same website. Alternatively, use Free Xperia for the latest version as it doesn't look like CM is going to be supported for our devices any longer.
Finally, on the previous page you asked when we could expect a release. One of the golden rules here is that you don't ask for releases. Everyone making these ROMs has jobs just like us, but they also find the spare time to develop ROMs for people like you and me. Now do you see why it makes you look lazy for asking for the simplest help? I'm not trying to be rude to you, just realistic, and respectful to the people who make this possible for us in the first place.
I can tell you that running FXCM10.1 on my Arc S is a huge step up both in terms of performance and features. I'd recommend it if you're feeling brave enough.
