second solution, find an adapter 5v 1500ma connect wires directly to motherboard red to red , black to black leave It 12 hour until charged 50%-60% then try the old method.

Just a word of caution at this point:
If you speak about the red and black cables connected to the LiPo battery, then i really would advice you not to do so.
As you might know there'd been some evil accidents with exploding LiPo cells. So please be careful giving such advice!!
If you directly connect a 5V wall charger or similar to the battery connector this is very dangerous!!!
With a simple 5V adaptor there's neither current limitation, nor temperature sensing for the LiPo battery.
The cells might explode due to overheating!!!
Please don't try this method and use the connections at the MicroUSB instead.
P.S.: You may describe where plus and minus are located at the connector.
I guess this is what frank989 asked for...
Regards,
scholbert

Hey yes but I also charged battery directly to plus minus it work for me with no problem than then after charged the battery I connectet wires to micro USB port so its safe no problem

and would it charge if i connected the usb cable wires directly to the red and black + & - wires connected directly to the 2 batteries?

Make your own cables

So far I have learned how to make a USB host cable and a universal charging cable. I have shared this in a few post but I figured it would be good to have them all in one place with a diagram.
I will update this drawing as I learn how to build the other cables.
Thanks goes out to pokey9000 for sharing how to do the USB host and nudging me the right way for figuring out the charging!
Update:
I guess the titles of each is not enough to properly relay what each does so here is a quick description of each.
1. USB Host - Puts the Tab into host mode so that you can use items like thumb drives and keyboards. If you want to use a USB powered hard drive, you will need to use a powered hub.
2. USB Host w/ Power - Puts the Tab into host mode but also allows you to charge the unit at the same time.
3. Universal Charging - For making a 30-pin cable that will let you charge your Tab off any 5V source so that you don't get the red X over the battery. When doing this, data transfers will not work.
4. Universal Charging Inline cable - For if you don't want to buy a 30pin connector or cut up your OEM cable, you can put this in line with your OEM cable and use any 5V source.

Not yet. I haven't built the USB host cable myself as my connectors are in the mail. I built that diagram from a mixture of what pokey9000 discovered plus what the pin outs are for the OEM cable.
Hopefully by the end of the week I will get the connector and will build this into a project enclosure which will also have a switch to change this between charge only, USB slave and USB host.
Cool. Seems like it would be easier to just grab a few of these cables, cut the cable and connect rather than soldering to the naked connectors from Kineteka.

Mostly likely, like the OEM cable, the connector is not fully populated. You would be able to easily make a charge only cable the will charge off anything, but to do other things like USB hosting, you need another pin, or rearrange the pins that are there which are probably a pain to do too.
Ah, true. Most likely lot of those pins don't have wires connected.
This is good stuff. I am looking forward to learning more. Thanks you for doing this.
I had a brain fart.
I know what the usb host w/ power cable would look like. I have parts orderd for the host mode configuration. I hopefully await a hdmi/usb-host cable.
First off, thanks for this awesome discovery !
But I've still got some questions..
what is the difference between the usb host and the usb host w. charging?
And what should the universal charger do?
Thanks!

The USB host should be pretty much the same as the OEM dongle. The host with power should allow you to charge the unit when also attached to a power supply. I have not tested this but I expect should work without a problem. The reason people might just opt to not have the power is to make a smaller package.
The universal charge cable puts the unit into charge mode no matter what your 5VDC power source is. Without this, you must use the OEM charger (or aftermarket adapter) else get a red X over the battery.
Anyone know if it would be possible to hack a USB port into the multimedia-dock? It has the 30pin male and female.. probably passthru.. I've yet to take it apart (I suspect there are screws on the bottom). Anyhow I figure the dock should work with the USB adapter, so maybe all the wires are there inside the base. Then it would just be a matter of adding a female USB (with appropriate resistor). And possibly this would allow charging, audio, etc WITH USB attached. Best part is that multimedia docks are available at local bestbuy, etc.
alternatively, i'm considering a keyboard <sigh>.. but only if usb host mode works with it.

Great! I am looking forward to seeing just how you do this.
I want know how one would do the hdmi cable, will that be hard to reverse engineer?
This dock is suppose to allow either the HDMI or the USB connector to plug in the back so that means it does pass all this through. This is going to be interesting....
okay a few questions again..
Would it be hard to make a usb keyboard work on the tab (like cutting up the usb cable and replacing it with a 30pin dock connector?)?
And how much effort would it take to create a hdmi out? or a normal video out if possible..? Because I actually need an old video out port but on the samsung site is says that the video out represented is not compatible with the 10.1..
and where do you solder everything on? I've yet to find a picture of the 30pin connector which tells you where to solder..
Where would I solder in this image? http://shop.kineteka.com/images/thumbs/0000564.jpeg
Or should I just get a tab-out like this:

No, what it is is a special USB OTG adapter that has three connectors, a micro USB plug to plug into the host device, a USB socket to plug in the peripheral device, and a micro USB socket to plug in a charger. It also supplies a special resistance on the ID pin to the host device to let it know that a charger is connected so the host does not supply a voltage on the VBUS. Without this special adapter with the ID pin resistance, the host will supply a voltage to power the peripheral which will not work with the charger on the VBUS. Thus this special adapter is needed. This is defined in the USB OTG and Battery Charging specs, but so far it doesn't seem like anyone is manufacturing such a thing.

USB "filter", make USB ports look like high power chargers... it works

Recently bought this adapter from amazon, a mfg named +pwr. It makes your lower power (computer and non samsung ac adapter) usb ports look like full power ports. Using it removes the red X from the charging icon and also allows the device to draw the max power available on the port - it's not going to magically make a 1 amp usb port draw 2 amps - but it will allow the device to draw max instead of a lower rate due to low power charging mode.
I've tested this on my PC, in my car and on an older Samsung ac adapter.
Well worth the 5 bucks I'd say. I'm planning to get one for each of my charge points and leave them installed.

Just be careful. There are adapters out there that were of an older design, primarily for the issue with iOS devices. Those won't work (you'll still see the red x). The one from Amazon works (I've tested it) but I can't comment on others. I'd suggest making sure that it at least explicitly states newer Samsung devices to be safe.
I don't suppose anyone knows of anyone in the UK doing these ? They are quoting 6-8 weeks for delivery to UK.
I've done a quick search, but am wary of knock-offs as OP rightly warned about. Would like to get something like this that people have tried and tested, but would prefer not to have to wait 2 months to get it !

Is there a custom ROM which has HDMI working?

Well, is there?
I want to know this too. Can't see giving up a major feature like HDMI out.
Also, is there a ROM beside stock ROM which has IR blaster working?
According to the latest commit of V500 CM11 repo, it should be working now.
https://github.com/CyanogenMod/android_device_lge_v500/commits/cm-11.0
But I can't test for now cause I don't have Slimport cable.

Hopefully, somebody who's using CM will test this and let us know if it works.

Indeed. It definitely works, and to be sure I just watched a YouTube video, fullscreen, on my TV. It took a bit to establish a connection, going through some "unknown format" phases, but it connected allright and was perfectly stable and smooth.

Has anybody tested it on Malladus? From what I understand, that's based on the LG stock rom.

Yes, I did, and it works. To be fair, I stayed on Malladus for some weeks, because it was the only rom with proper hdmi streaming.
works on CM11
It works on my LG G Pad with the CM 11 nightly cm-11-20140119-NIGHTLY-v500.zip ROM
using Slimport to HDMI cable !

Wow, truly interesting! Which cable did you use? Would it be possible to see a demonstration? :cyclops:
I have mentioned that in the G Pad Accessories Forum
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2569809&page=2
I bought one in Hong Kong !
It's NOT an Adapter, it's a direct micro USB to HDMI male plug Cable !!! with optional micro usb plug for charging !!!
HKD - $200 = around USD $25 - 26
Well... I don't want to setup my HTC One and shoot video of my LG G Pad and my 27" Dell Monitor.
What I did is, just plug in the HDMI and micro USB, and it works, it do take around 2 seconds to display the G Pad content on the Monitor.
But it run smoothly afterwards. with sound output from through HDMI also.

That's weird. You're saying that you're seeing direct HDMI out with a micro USB to HDMI cable? I didn't think that the G Pad was capable of that. What rom are you using?
Can you give us a picture of just the cable?
What the ???
I am just sharing my own experience, and you don't believe it ?
maybe I missed something, I am using a SLIMPORT to HDMI CABLE !!!! Male micro USB plug to Male HDMI Plug !!!
You don't believe that because you haven't seen this before ??
Do a simple search IN GOOGLE !! Search PICTURE or PHOTOS, and then type "Slimport to HDMI CABLE" !!! That's it !!

Slimport micro USB to HDMI Cable !!!
Any Special settings needed in CM11?
This cable does not work on the 20 Jan CM11. Unless there are some special settings.
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B009LAZG2M/
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00AWHPGJQ/ (Using this only when using S3)
EDIT: I flashed back to rooted Stock and the cable does not work with that ROM either.
The cable does work with KitKat in OG Galaxy Nexus (ShinyROM) and with Galaxy S3 with CleanROM 7 (based on Samsung Stock).
Looks like the G Pad is very picky which cable works. This is a drawback of the LG I guess.

You are using an MHL cable... The G Pad has a Slimport, not MHL port.
Thanks, This explains the difference. http://blog.clove.co.uk/2013/11/07/mhl-v-slimportwhat-is-the-difference/
Another money grab for accessory companies!

You did miss something. You didn't describe it as a Slimport adapter. You said that it wasn't an adapter but a direct micro USB to HDMI cable. That's not the same thing as a Slimport adapter. Now, you are contradicting yourself by saying that it is, indeed, a Slimport adapter and not a direct micro USB to HDMI cable. I'm sure that this is just a language issue on your part, but maybe you can see why I was confused by your post.

Your eyes have problem ???
It's NOT an Adapter !!! It's an CABLE !!! AM I RIGHT ???
It's Male micro USB to Male HDMI . If it is an ADAPTER, then, extra additional USB CABLE IS needed !, RIGHT ?
ALSO, I admitted that I missed saying that it's slimport port to HDMI, but I didn't SAY IT ISN'T !!!!
My language have problem or yours ??? Please read every sentence !!!

[How To] Moto G Wireless Charging Internal Mod by jamlvs

--update--
If you are not rooted you will need to have the screen locked, in the beginning I was using the pattern lock. Right now I have a custom ROM (CM11) with root and have installed the "Moto Floating Charge" (needs root). That way I don't need the pattern lock. You can find more information about the Moto Floating Charge here.

Based on this xda topic, I decided to do the same.Unfortunately, that thing hanging out of the phone and the cancellation of the micro usb port was not a good option for me. So I decided to try to put the adapter inside the phone.
The adapter:

First we need to remove the 14 torx screws on the back of the phone.
If you need some help, just see this disassemble video until minute 2:20, including the part of disconnecting the battery!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fd3AZSXhOf8
First I looked in to the micro usb adapter to see what contact's was using, in this case (I don't know if they are all the same) it was the 2 in the edges.
I opened the adapter (It's just some sticky paper) and found out the main 2 spot's (+5v and ground) and a third spot that says 5v +1. Have not used it but it's there.
Green - 5v +1 (not used)
Blue - Ground
Red - 5V
I then connected the adapter to the phone and made a continuity test with the*multimeter and found the 5v spot and a lot of ground spots has normal.
The installation:
First I removed the connector and installed 2 wires.
Then put it in the right place using a double sided sticker (included).
Then solder the 5V:
Then the ground and it's all done:
Now just install the back cover, and put the screws back on. You wont*even notice it's there.
If you need some help, just ask.
Here it is in action:

That will do. The "problem" with that model is being all in plastic so it is slippery. Mine is the "Qi K8" model and the center is a kind of "rubbered" material. Just confirm the output, mine is 5V 700 - 1000 mA.
Sweet!
That's awesome! Good work! I just might have to do this. Anyway, I have a question. Do you think it would cause a problem if you had the USB cable plugged in AND it sitting on the charger? Not that I'm ever going to do that, but just curious.
Good work finding alternative soldering points. The micro usb connectors are so tiny
Time to get the screwdriver out
Just like i did in the other thread, that's a great mod you've done mate.

Connecting the USB cable will work has it should and the wireless charging will not interfere in the data transfer or the charging (since is already charging).
Wow this is slick, never really soldered small electronics before though, not sure if I want to go there.

you need a QI Wireless charger. It's a pad which you put your phone onto and will send "waves" to the receiver you've just plugged/soldered.
Sent from my MotoG using Tapatalk.
Is this a good one?

Because it charge 1000mAh.

It looks like mine but mine is 600mA, that must charge faster with a 1000mA charger. It's a QI just like mine, go for it. :good:
Thank you so much for the video of it being plugged in while wireless charging! I'll probably do this at some point. Good work!
This is a really great job. Well done
Do we have to set lockscreen patern for this mod?
